My 11 year old daughter has been going to Charlene's for 3 years so far. She has made new friends every year and loves to perform at the end of the year recital. No plans on stopping. She wants to keep dancing at Charlene's until her high school graduation.

My granddaughter has been taking dance classes for several years and we have been very pleased. Charlene has shoes, leotards, and tights available at reasonable cost and the classes are affordable. Costumes and dance routines are age appropriate and current. Dancers have the opportunity to perform at Tap Des Moines, Clowns at the Carousel, and the Iowa State Fair, in addition to recital. Some of the dancers have also auditioned for and performed in The Nutcracker ballet at the Civic Center. There is no pressure to perform in any of these events beyond recital and no pressure to enter competitions. Dance is fun at Charlene's, family friendly, and children are taught with acceptance of different levels of ability.

While the curtains are closed for lessons as a general rule, parents and grandparents fill the studio to enjoy seeing their child's progress on periodic open curtain nights. The number of students looking for and waving to those watching justifies the generally closed curtains to provide a more focused learning environment.

We have been very happy with Charlene's Dance Studio for our granddaughter's dance education and the progress she has made. Charlene, Marie, and Clara make the studio a great place for a child to learn to dance!

We love Charlene, Clara and Marie! They are wonderful people and treat the girls and boys with kindness, fairness and respect and want expect nothing less in return. Not happy with this dance studio at all!!! She does outdated dances which my grandaughter did not have fun dancing for this studio, demands you buy her shoes in which she ups the price for her own benefit, and has a closed curtain so you dont even get to watch your little dancers progress. I would NOT recommend this dance studio to anyone!!!!
