I absolutely love the environment of this gym. Everyone holds you accountable in a positive way, and they offer excellent monthly and quarterly memberships! I began with a 10-week challenge, which I highly recommend as you have the chance to win $$ ($500 to $1,000) and receive incredible support from coaches on your form, diet, and overall fitness journey. I highly recommend Farrell's—Owners Terri and Jason are fantastic!

Joining Farrell's in Ankeny has been very good for me. I wasn't keen on the whole group exercise class experience before joining, but can now say nothing but positive things about the Farrell's approach as executed at the Ankeny location. Everyone is friendly, instructors are excellent and the workouts are intense, fun and effective.

I started in 2008. Best place to kickbox and I love how the resistance bands classes have evolved. We also have TRX straps and free weights now. The combo classes on Saturdays are fun. I've made great friends here. I like how the owners are trying to keep the cost down because they know there's a lot of competition in Ankeny. It's a great deal for what you get. For new 10 week students, there is personalized coaching and at the end of the 10 weeks you have a shot of $1,000! For our returning students there are regular challenges to keep us motivated and engaged. We also have an in body scanner with an app to break down your percent, muscle fat and percent, body fat, etc.

I just Started the 10 week challenge and I'm enjoying the gym and the workouts. I have been to alot of other group style gyms in Ankeny that were so focused on reps and how fast( but not focused on form and getting the most out of each move) and constant ( omg your doing so great you did a push up) I love that at Farrells the instructors are taking the time to teach you the proper form (so you don't get injured). Also everyone is very incurging but not in the cheesey go you style. I would 100% recommend Farrells to anyone looking for a group led fitness class.

I was just over 50 when I started at Farrell’s just a little over a year ago. I thought I was too old and would have trouble fitting in. I have found that I truly love the workouts, especially the kickboxing! And there are so many friendly faces and people that are always wanting to help with your form and want you to succeed! I learned about Farrell’s when I moved to the north side of Ankeny in 2010. I was post-final-baby-weight and nervous about even stepping foot into any gym because my shape was round and I had never been in a kickboxing gym before. The manager coached me through every step of my first class and encouraged and supported me through my anxiety. The people I’ve met at FXB have become fast friends. Seven years as a member and the coaches and instructors continue to challenge my physical form and encourage personal improvement. It’s a great place to workout!

I can’t say enough great thing about Farrells Ankeny North. If you are looking for a positive atmosphere, inspiring coaches, and motivating instructors then this is your place! It’s my second family. I go at 4:15 in the morning and it’s a smaller group and they hold you accountable. I needed a jump start after having my second child and I have seen amazing results. I did my 10 weeks at North Ankeny FXB in October of 2015. I met my goals and joined as a fit member. I have tried many programs and joined various gyms and this is the best overall experience I have ever had. The nutrition program is easy to understand, easy to track and easy to customize to foods you enjoy. You eat every 3 hours so you rarely feel hungry or deprived. Farrell's provides the education and support you need to stay accountable, which is huge for me. The focus on kickboxing for cardio is both fun and consistent which allows you to build on your skills with optimum potential. It is also safe as good form is taught and encouraged. I remember doing a bootcamp (at another gym) where I was expected to flip tracker tires on one day and run 2 miles the next. It was unpredictable, unsafe and ineffective for me. Long story short... I LOVE Farrell's and the North Ankeny team of instructors are GREAT!
