My wife was a member until the promises just kept being extended over & over. The pool has not been completed in over a year with the same amount of dollars as one with a pool. I paid for membership that she could not use I still paid after canceling. The place is clean friendly staff but way to costly. The value isn't there. They would tell her to go the west side, well we don't live on the west side! Please be reasonable adjust the membership pricing to fit the "facility" We did try to go there on Sunday 11-16-2025 the doors were locked at 5:30 PM

This gym franchise demands in person cancellation. I've gone into the gym twice to cancel, once on 08 September 2025, the other on 09 September 2025, and both times have been told by staff that their system is down and they cannot terminate my gym membership. Whenever I call this gym location, their phone is always busy and despite calling over a dozen times, have not been able to reach anyone.

EDIT: I have filed a consumer complaint with the Iowa attorney general's office, with the consumer protection division. I attempted to call your location numerous times to let you know this, but every time your phone is giving off a busy signal, even outside of business hours. Please send me a written confirmation that my membership has been cancelled.

I was here for 15 years and left for 2. I would have to say I am very impressed with the upkeep here. Every single day there is 2-4 people cleaning everything. Mirrors, walls, window, dumbbells, all equipment from top to bottom. This was huge thing for my wife and I was cleanliness. Not to mention the equipment is great and staff very pleasant. After coming from crunch fitness this is 100 times better.

My boys and I have been coming here and are very happy with the facilities. Very clean, great staff, and I like the variety of machines. I've taken advantage of some free personal training classes. The spinning room is amazing. Only downfall is that there are no spinning classes at 5amish... I assume people were not showing up for the early schedules and moved classes to a latter schedule. 😔 Still really like the place. It was a great swap coming from a Hiit membership gym where I could not afford to pay for a family plan. Can't wait for the pool to be open and other amenities being worked on.

I chose this gym because of the childcare. At first, I was going in the afternoon and the ladies on that shift have been very nice, but because of my schedule change, I had to go in the morning and my one year old daughter has been crying this week because she doesn't want to stay and the ladies on that shift don't even bother to hold her back or encourage her to stay. One is on her phone, sitting in a chair as if she can't hear my daughter crying and the other is just there at the front desk ignoring her. On Mondays and Tuesdays, I've had to ask them if they could entertain my daughter while I go and they have, but today they saw me and heard my daughter crying for me and they didn't bother to offer help or encouragement and when they saw me leave they just said, "She's having a rough week," and "Bye." I just got a family membership in May with 6 months of contract.

I absolutely love the fact that I signed up for a membership to use the pool to do exercise, and there isn't a pool as it advertises on all of their pages. After contacting at least a couple of staff, I just get nothing as far as any answer as to whether or not this location will ever get one or even how soon. I do not want to go to WDSM to use their gym or the pool, I do not like to travel to that part of town for a multitude of reasons. Also, if you slip in their locker rooms or need help, be prepared to try to yell for it, since there is no other way to get help. The towels won't fit around an XL or bigger person either, so if you are then you might as well bring your own towel. I love how inconvenient this club is.... Makes me want to go to the Y.

Following my RX for Ozempic, I decided to get a trainer to help me tone and keep from getting flabby arms. I have Branson, who's a sweetheart, and Riley, who is duper friendly and positive. I've never used weight equipment before, so they've been very supportive and patient in helping me figure stuff out, and they cheer me on, which makes me happy to come back the next time. They're also very understanding when it comes to the days when I feel green and can't manage much. I appreciate these guys being here for me.

I am so impressed with the way Jen has improved the classes and attitude in the fitness area. She has put a lot of effort into it and it has great results.
Also I enjoy Selinas morning Body Pump classes—she is a great instructor.

This gym sucks and i love it. The toilets stink and half the lights in the weight room are burned out. They have clean towels and the hot water is good. The front desk staff very kind. I suspect most of the the people that work out here are dumb. The weight organization is anarchy. People leave weights lying everywhere, and when they do re-rack them there is no rhyme or reason; they stack 45s on top of 10s, on top of 2.5s. It's like when they try to do the intelligence test with a crow and he's trying over and over to jam a square piece into a triangular hole, except i think the crows might be smarter than the people who work out here because eventually the crow figures it out. You have to spend five minutes searching the rack to find two dumbells that match. One of the TVs is always tuned to this cable news station I've never heard of that only runs stories about the dangers of immigration. If they had bumper plates i would never go anywhere else.

I’ve been looking for a gym that makes me feel comfortable & have a daycare area for my kids & omg I’m so excited I found Genesis!! Brooklyn helped me & my family sign up & let me tell you she is the kindest person I have met, truly an amazing person! She made me feel even more excited to start to gym & is willing to help me achieve my goals. The daycare area is super nice & the people there are so nice!! My husband and I are both members and we both have personal trainers. The location is very clean and the people are friendly! We didn’t think we needed (or wanted) a personal trainer but now that we have started the program we love it! Our trainers work with us to come up with workouts that really challenge us in ways we wouldn’t have on our own. This location also has several classes and group workouts to join in on. Linda does a great swim class in the pool that I love!

My husband has Parkinson's and I have osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. We both need mobility exercise, as well as strengthening exercises. We went to Genesis and spoke with trainer Garrett Gymer. He listened to everything we said about what we needed help with. Garrett asked questions about surgeries, etc and then he developed exercise routines for both of us. He's working with us to make sure that we understand the exercises and that we're doing them properly. He answers all of our questions and addresses all of our concerns. All of the staff members have been helpful and respectful. We couldn't have found a more cooperative staff and excellent facility anywhere else.

I was thrilled when they made an early morning class so I could get in extra training for RAGBRAI. Mary is very friendly and helpful and always has a smile. I love going to the water aerobics classes they are so fun and a great way to exercise without feeling the pain on my body in that moment.
