3 of my kids go, it is great for social and athletic aspects of their development. The coaches are wonderful with kids. They have toys for the littles to play with while waiting for their siblings.

Oh, where do I even begin? If only there were a rating lower than zero star! What an absolutely delightful experience I had at the center.

Picture this: my three-year-old daughter, on her very first day, was understandably upset, crying and not ready to leave me. I kept trying to hand her over to the trainer, but let's be real, she's just a little kid. The trainer was sympathetic and made efforts to assist my daughter.

The owner then appears out of nowhere, giving off a look that could curdle milk. Not only did he gave me the nastiest glare, but he also tried to scare my daughter. Surprise, surprise, she started screaming. Later, when we dared to speak to him in the lobby, he treated us like unruly students instead of paying customers. How charming!! So disrespectful, I can't explain here..

We were so thrilled by this experience that we left immediately. Unfortunately, because we were so excited about gymnastics, we had already paid the full amount for a two-month program before the class started. After just one glorious week, we decided we couldn't handle the owner's "charm" any longer. My husband went to the center to discuss our decision with the receptionist. The owner, in his infinite wisdom, refused to come out and talk.

To add a cherry on top, they refused to give us a prorated refund. Isn't that just the epitome of excellent customer service? How anyone can justify keeping money for the services not rendered. Beware of these lovely folks and their facility, where money clearly trumps any notion of human decency.

I'll request reader not to consider this center at all and get enrolled your kids where owner shows some respect..

My 5 of my grand children go here and they all love it. The owner is amazing he knows all the kids and takes time to talk to them. He still teaches classes and is very patient with all the kids he pushes them but not beyond what they can do.

Careful on putting your credit card on account. You get auto-charged and now I'm at a loss of $240. $120 for 8 weeks that my family constantly was getting sick during the winter and they couldn't refund. Fustrating but I accpeted it. Then $120 again for another 8 weeks they sent e-mails that I didn't see as we have all been sick again with influenza. No phone call reminders or texts. I tried calling and they won't refund me. Literally nothing they can do apparently. The class signed up for was for toddlers. There should be some exceptions as life happens and unfortunately, whole family has been sick and mutliple visits to the doctor that is just not normal for us. Can't cancel over the phone, have to physically go in to sign a form. Very disappointed.

Just a heads up if you plan to enroll your child in Jump Start Gymnastics. I paid in full in advance, and when we attended the toddler tumbling class my daughter couldn’t understand any of the prompts. Mia is 20 months and doesn’t say words yet. How was I supposed to know the class is not really geared towards toddlers who can’t speak or communicate yet. We left almost immediately. I was told by the teacher who taught the class in a voice I could get a refund after the owners are back in the office. Then I receive an email today from the office manager we can’t get a refund. What? That’s $150 of lost money. Dang. How was I supposed to know? Be careful about paying up front. My best advice is to audit a class first. Lesson learned. Grr!

So when we walked in, I was instantly greeted with the nastiest look someone has ever gave me, so I gave a dirty look back which come to find out was the owner, we got registered got settled in because we we’re there for a trial class the Owner (Jon) never introduced himself he called everyone back except for my daughter until I went to the counter and asked if she needed to go back with the other kids and Jada (the young girl at the counter was the only nice one!) she told me yes she should have been called back after the class he never walked to the lobby and said anything about how the kids did in class, I felt as if Jon only payed attention to certain kids even as my daughter was walking to the warm up, after asking for myself if she needed to be back there with the rest of the kids he called. Honestly just a bad vibe! If your the owner & you have this nasty attitude good luck having people come back! Please don’t comment back on here apologizing because first impressions are everything & an apology definitely won’t fix what we experienced our first time there! We just won’t be going back and I’ll definitely be letting all of my mom friends know of this

My daughter has been going to Jump Start for over a year now and she loves it. She looks forward to going every week and she really enjoys the coaches. Today we had her birthday party here and the Jump Start team did an amazing job. They handled the decorations, entertainment for the kids, and the clean up. If you are looking for a gymnastics place or a birthday party spot, I highly recommend Jump Start. Thank you guys again!

One star is me being generous.

I continued to take my two daughters through the 8 week course because I had paid for it and they enjoyed having friends after not seeing many during this pandemic.

That is the end of the good.

I sat week after week watching my children do almost nothing gymnastics related. My five year old went in knowing more gymnastics from YouTube videos and practicing in our basement on mats we purchased than she learned here.

Her “coach” would stand in the same spot for 10-20 minutes at a time twirling her hair (literally) without offering insight on whether things were done well, what to improve on, etc.

We are going elsewhere.

Edit: I spoke with Holly after class and she apologized, and accepted my feedback on offering a more professional and considerate response. For these reasons we have decided to give the class one more try.

Original: We rush here after online class and are late coming in. Got it. Not great. But that doesn’t give Holly reason to behave unprofessionally. Especially towards a 4 and 6 year old.

On top of rushing I had an episode of mom brain this morning. I mixed up swim time (11:30 AM) with this class’ start time (11:00 AM) arriving 11:20 AM (thinking I was arriving 10 min early).

Holly turned my girls away in such a rude and unprofessional way. I was more than willing to accept responsibility for the mistake, and would have taken the loss of a class, had it been handled with more care and professionalism.

My oldest girl was very hurt by the interaction and was fighting tears. She’s strong though and will bounce back. But we are done with this place.

My daughter loves her class at Jump Start! Miss Maddie is amazing at making my shy child feel comfortable during her class. My daughter loves learning new skills and getting stickers for her chart. It’s amazing how much they can learn in a session. And on a side note, Jump Start birthday parties are super fun too! We have been to three parties, and the activities were different (and fun) for each one!

My girls love going to gymnastics at Jump Start! They are always so excited to go. The instructors do a really good at teaching them new skills. They also have lots of different equipment for the kids to use. I also like that they do evaluations once a month to show your kids progression and what they are able to do. The only downside is that I have two kids and they have to go two separate night, I just wish they had more class offerings during times that worked with my schedule.

My 9yr old daughter just started level 1 gymnastics at Jump Start in October. She loved that she was already getting to experience the bars within the first couple classes! The staff is so helpful and friendly. It's a non-competative atmosphere which is exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely recommend Jump Start to anyone wanting to get started in gymnastics or tumbling.

My daughter has been going since she was 3 and has loved every moment of it. I know she is still little and learning the basics but she has gotten to build her motor skills and learn to socialize and the importance of following instructions too. These are all important aspects of life that Jump Start is helping her build! I also really like that they recognize that certain kids learn at different rates and so they recognize this and move kids to different classes when they see they are ready rather than trying to keep them with the same age group it more based on ability within a general age group.

My daughter (11 yrs old) enjoys coming each week. She leaves sweaty after a good workout! She is not a competitive gymnast; Jump Start caters to all levels. We like Friday open gyms to bring a friend. We also appreciate free entry to open gyms as a makeup if we miss a regular class (24 hr notice required for that, but we feel that is fair). You can also makeup a class on a different day/with a different instructor.

I took lessons with Jon for about 2 years when I was 10 or 11. I am now 18 and still apply those skills. He drills the skills and technique in so it comes naturally. Jon teaches life long skills and morals. Jon will not allow to hear "I can't" This has seriously impacted my abilities mentally and physically. Seriously one of the best, and this rating is coming from the athlete.

I signed up my son for gymnastic classes for young kids this summer. We absolutely love it so far. We checked out another gymnastics place in the QC area before signing up for Jump Start gymnastics and JumpStart was an absolute winner. Miss Holly is absolutely great with little kids and the class is structured in a way that kids learn some gymnastics fundamentals and have fun too. The class is 45 minutes and every minute of it is spent efficiently.
The only thing that I didn't like was that to try out a session to decide whether to sign up for it or not, you actually have to fill out the complete registration form. It was a bit odd providing all the contact information and signing something where you agree to not miss payments etc. if you're only coming to one trial session. They don't ask for any financial information on the form though. But we ended up signing up for the classes anyways because they were really good so I guess it was all ok. Still, the other place had a short form specifically for a trial session (just name of my kid and my signature under some liability statement) and I felt that that was more appropriate.

Agree with what several other users have said. The people/instructors are rude. When we signed up we weren't told that you had to drop out of the class before the next sessions started. We thought we were signing up for an 8 week class to introduce our child to the class. We were told that it was an 8 week class and if our child enjoyed it they would set us up for the next class. When the 8 week class was coming towards an end, I called to let them know that we would not be continuing on after the 8 week class. They informed us that we would have to fill out a drop out form. No problem, until we went in on to the class night to fill out the piece of paper. I explained to them our reasoning for not continuing, it was a scheduling conflict that didn't work for us (maybe in the future it would have). They were rude and said it was too late for us to drop out because they had already registered us. I again explained why it didn't work, and the lady snapped at me saying "I'm not going to argue with you" and then walked away. I asked "Are you really going to be like that to me?" Then one of the other girls piped up that I came up there rude first. I explained that I wasn't being rude I just needed to drop our child from the class because it wasn't going to work and that they just needed to give me the form to do so. They did end up giving me the form to drop. If they would have just done that to begin with I might have considered going back or would perhaps recommend them but after my experience and then reading others experiences that is just too similar to mine it seems they have a pretty standard response, rudeness. Avoid them and take your business elsewhere.

Daughter has gone to a few places in the Quad Cities. At Jumpstart, she was actually losing gains she had made with Kathy at Tumble Time.

Then after overpaying due to jacked up billing, John refused to refund our overpayment, instead only offering to use the money in the future. Wrong. Unethical. It's my money, not his. Won't return calls to resolve it.

Arrogantly claimed to me that he has 600 people on his waiting list to get in. Well, make it 599. Will not give another dollar to an unethical thief.

Go to other places and get better value and deal with honest people.

My daughter attends classes at JSG. I have had nothing but good experiences with the facility. For those that complain about the owner being "confrontational" about you dropping your kids and continuing billing until a formal "drop slip" is filled out, all I can say is, "Can't you read??? There are signs posted ALL OVER on the bulletin boards saying a formal drop must be filled out or you will still be charged. It's no one's fault but your own if you pay so little attention to large signs posted for you to read.John's a very straightforward business owner. He's not out to scam people. His programs are excellent, low pressure, and designed to give your kids personal confidence and the ability to do gymnastics in a setting where they can also have fun.
