I really liked this gym. There was one woman that opened Saturdays that wasn’t great (late, didn’t always show up, etc), but that was my only complaint other than some TVs not working. All in all, the other staff was phenomenal and it was always clean with working equipment. I changed gyms and am in a contract or I’d be back there in a heartbeat.

My husband and I were in CR for a week due to his job. We travel a lot (baseball life) and hit many Planet Fitness facilities. This gym was really clean and the staff was very nice. I especially want to recognize Ms. Sharon (didn’t get her last name). Sharon was very engaging, she always greeted us with her enthusiasm, humor and smile every day! Sharon would tell us to let her know if we needed anything. Customer service has really changed and so many times we feel is awful! Not at this gym and Sharon shines!

Can you tell me WHY I pay for the black card membership when your deep tissue massage chairs are not working over 1/2 of the time. It’s not just this location either. Is it really that hard to keep your chairs operating or to find someone to fix them? I’m sorry, but this is very poor business practice when you offer a black card membership and nine out of 10 times your equipment is not working! The other massage chairs are down a lot as well. I feel like I should be reimbursed or get a cheaper rate because you can’t seem to fix your equipment. This is ridiculous!

The shower curtains in the men's room ate infuriating and perverse. You can spend all this money on a fancy gym but not shower curtains that provide even a bit of privacy? They're at least a foot too short and even fell on my as I was showering. Luckily I caught it but I'm angry. Fix this planet fitness, it's not appropriate for people who don't want to share their bodies. For a gym who seems to say they aim for everyone of any body type to feel comfortable there, you sure messed up here.

We just canceled my wife's account today. We probably should have done it several months ago because she hasn't been back to use the gym at Planet Fitness after she had some experiences with a very rude front counter person at the Lindale location. I've also had issues with this same individual trying to address issues with the app not checking me in with my wife. For some reason I was showing in the system as a prospect ever since we went to Des Moines and used some locations up there. Long story short, my wife has a worker with her most all times because she has a disability and this staff member was giving her and the worker grief about being together in the area for the upgrade memberships. Ever since that day, my wife and her workers haven't visited Planet Fitness. On one of the occasions that I was at the gym, I requested the number for the owner and the staff member refused to provide that information or to ensure that I would receive a call back from management. There was a major attitude problem.

Great gym ! Planet Fitness is clean and has lots of equipment and extra amenities.
Aside from getting and staying in shape, the biggest draw for me for Planet Fitness is the price ($25 per month at time of writing) AND no contract or cancelation fee to deal with.
Previously I went to other gyms and they rely on crazy amounts for you to get out of the contract, so Planet Fitness is a breath of fresh air.
There is plenty of equipment. I don't have the time to spend hours in the gym, and thankfully the times I am there, it is not overly crowded so I can get done what I want to get done without having to wait or compromise.
During summer they usually run special programs for kids and teenagers, so if you need something fun and healthy to do for the kids, check with PF on if they have anything going on.

I would never recommend anyone join. I was a member and was ok when i started, but after learning how poorly it is run and how people are treated i felt compelled to change my review.
I was an active member for over 2 years and just got an email that my membership was cancelled. Not one stating there was an issue with the membership, a cancellation.
The place is a mess. Not only was it this situation but they can't keep it staffed and it isn't kept clean and stocked

This morning, I had an unpleasant experience at Planet Fitness as a new customer interested in applying for a PF Black Card. I informed the front desk staff that I was new and expected a quick tour of the gym and a clear explanation of the membership plans. While the lady at the desk initially showed me the plans and cards, I encountered issues with the payment process, which required two bank accounts.

When I tried to ask for clarification, a trainer interrupted her to discuss some personal drama. Instead of prioritizing my concerns, she seemed hesitant to address my issue and allowed the conversation to take precedence. I waited for some time, but the lack of professionalism and customer service was frustrating. Eventually, I decided to leave without completing my membership and will not be returning.

UPDATE: Mold and slime all over shower curtains in mens locker room. Fecal mater on toilets most of the time water everywhere you can slip on.
These guys don't clean anything.
Nothing has been done 1 month later about the mold. Worst planet fitness I've ever been to.

I will be reporting to iowa department of public health as this clearly needs to be addressed.

This is a great gym with awesome staff! It’s never overcrowded and the staff do a great job of only letting members in. They also monitor the tanning bed usage and make sure people aren’t going too often. I appreciate the staff doing their jobs. This is the best PF!

Been here hundreds of times, about half of the time on weekends/during the day this is the scene.

Facility opens at 7, worker opened the facility late (7:39AM) AND has now disappeared within ten minutes of opening for over an hour (it’s now 9:01AM).

I don’t understand why it’s so hard to be around the gym OR just remain at the front desk. Not only can someone not tan or use the massage chairs/beds but what if an injury happens? Huge liability concern and services you’re paying for as a Black Card holder you can’t even use.

I've been with PF for 7 years and I was looking to upgrade that membership. However, since it wasn't my "home" gym, they wouldn't ("couldn't") help me. I've been going to the Cedar Rapids Planet Fitness for the past few months and really like the atmosphere, equipment, and staff but more importantly, I like the sense of inclusion that is central to them as a company. This is conveyed in signage around the gym in sayings like "you belong" and "free zones". These are just a few examples. The gym is also well lit, has lots of TVs and gives off the feeling that it was well thought out and well taken care of. The staff are also very friendly and there is a new trainer there. If your on the fence about joining a gym, I'd recommend giving this one a shot. I know that it can be intimidating, but if you want to change, perhaps you need to push yourself out of your comfort zone.

I love this gym! It's my first one I've been to for a while. The staff is absolutely amazing and so charismatic. I was really intimidated by other big-name locations, but PF at the mall really helped me feel comfortable with asking for help or using the massage chairs and tanning beds.

Their personal trainer is amazing too! He's very encouraging, celebrates your successes, and is very respectful.

The place is always clean! The staff is continuously making rounds to ensure the cleaning stations are stocked, the equipment and gym are dust-free, and that everything is organized and clean.

I love what this particular location has to offer! They know me by name, I'm not just another number to them. They treat everyone like family.

Cleanliness of facilities have declined for some reason in last several weeks. Machines, especially weight machines have a layer of grime, dumb bell rack is filled with grime, etc. This isn't just normal winter season grime, it's lack of wiping all the equipment down daily. Bathrooms, especially the floor seems like not cleaned. Not typical of PF I've used in multiple states. Not sure if it's high turn over of help, not enough help or we've moved past covid, so we don't worry about cleaning anymore or staff doesn't know what to do. Hopefully, the manager or owner will take note and correct.

I'm traveling and so I am reviewing the locations I'm visiting. This is a smaller pf but had plenty of equipment available. The treadmills are all digital and very nice. I love the separate digital displays on the 30 min section instead of one big timer for everyone. The shower was hot and clean. They could use another hook in the changing area and they were missing a blow dryer which I always use if available.

This is the first Planet Fitness that I've stopped at on my road trip across the U.S.! As always, the staff was very friendly! It's on the smaller side, but still we'll equipped. The main piece of equipment I look for is the elliptical with incline adjustment and I didn't find it here. In the shower area, I noticed was that this had the small ledge in the shower as opposed to some PF's that have a full metal shelf in the shower and there were no seats or shelves in the individual changing stations. All of this was just personal preference, and this is still a great Planet Fitness!
