Believe the other Low Star Reviews in the last year noting rude staff. Maybe it is always the same guy, hard to know, but it definitely impacts the experience of this course. It was bizarre from the very first interaction; it was like we were a nuisance checking in and paying. Zero hospitality skills or training displayed by the employee working the course counter. The course is not nice enough to make up for such off-putting welcome.
If you are looking for an open tee time in the metro area, know there are reasons why this course has open tee times.
Recommendations: Significant time spent on hospitality training.

Today we were golfing and having the time of our lives. when we got on the last hole we played it normally like any other hole and hit the ball onto the green. after we got back to our truck we were wrongly accused of taking full shots off the green. he didn’t address it kindly at all and was also rude to us at the start when we checked in. he could have handled the matter much more maturely but he decided to assume we did it and then lied about saying he saw us through the window but there is no visibility on the 9th hole from the clubhouse. the burrito was really good though.

Once again I am posting about this golf course, as their "neighbors" we have experienced firsthand their lack of mowing again this year. The flowerbed across the fairway at the Tee box is a weed patch again this year, great breeding ground for chiggers and mosquitos. The mosquitos, ticks and dandelions are producing a bumper crop so be prepared when you golf here. Make sure you bring your bug spray if you golf in the weedpatch. I just spoke to one of their employees, as usual he blew me off and could care less, typical for this place, he could care less and his attitude said it all.
Well, the news is better, the flowerbed got cleaned up sorta kinda, at least now we can see the flowers. I guess you have to be country folk to understand that if you have tall grass you have MORE bugs. Bring your bug spray.

Heard this place was being improved. The course is worse than what it was under Fox run. At least the clubhouse is remodeled.…

Just played this course for the first time and although the local I played with said they have made dramatic improvements and it wasn't quite there yet I thought it was maintained very well. For being in a wetlands area only one of the greens were really bad. Fun course, not terribly difficult but plenty of places for trouble if your shot gets off track. Pace was a little slow, but an employee did let us know that they talked to the group ahead of us about speeding up. Pretty sure it was the owner himself and he thanked us for playing. Definitely recommend this course.

We rented out the newly remodeled clubhouse for a graduation party. We had over 100 guests, and the space was perfect with an open concept, bar, beautiful views of the course, and TV’s in the room. Our guests raved about the renovation and many had plans to book the space for their upcoming events. The staff were very accommodating with anything we needed. What an amazing space!! Thank you Whispering Woods!

Just finished a scramble there today and I would highly recommend golfing here. I had golfed here when it was previously Fox Run and there is definitely a difference. They have made many improvements and are continually working towards making it the best possible experience. The staff are beyond awesome and that is from the management to the cart girl. They made this place fun and inviting. If you haven’t been here since they changed hands or have never been here give them a chance because you won’t be disappointed!

Played there on 4/30/25 and I thought it was in bad shape when it was Fox Run but somehow the new ownership made it even worse! At least when it was Fox Run it was only $22 with cart on weekdays which made it worth dealing with the crappy grass but now it’s $36 and even crappier grass. More dandelions than I have ever seen I guess they don’t know what weed and feed is! Tee boxes and greens are both terrible! At least they spent money on the club house it looks better. Wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone. It made me give one star before it would post my comments or it wouldn’t even have rated there.

Not a good golf course.
No more twilight golf, driving range by the hour instead of a bucket of balls, and they charge for the practice area now too.
New owners are trying to suck every penny they can out of customers.. greedy!

Showed up 45 min early for our tee time on Saturday to use the range prior to our round and was told the range was closed. When paying for a senior and told senior discounts not available on weekends. I guess you are only a senior on the weekdays. Greens are in poor shape compared to other courses in the area. Staff could could use a little customer service training.

So I haven’t been out for over 5 years, and I used to play there all the time. Now that the course is under new ownership I wanted to go back. I am so glad I did. A few things I noticed.
The clubhouse improvements are incredible and they are still leveling up. It is amazing what happens when an investment is made in improving the experience.
As far as on the course. I thought the greens were great. Knowing that the course was designed as a links style course helps as it requires different strategy. Nice one they rolled true. Fairways are 100% better than when I was there last. Everything is improving. I look forward to see the improvements as they come.
Most of all the staff is great (grounds, food and beverage, and pro shop). I am so happy the place is welcoming again. Will definitely be back. Thanks again and keep up the great work.

Course was in alright shape. Club house looked nice though. Someone should tell the marshall how to do his job. Back 9 had 5 groups on each hole, mentioned something to him and nothing was done. Not sure if we will be coming back. Also the guy checking us in was not friendly and came off very stand-offish.

If the new staff is great I would hate to see how bad old staff was. It was my first time at Whispering Woods and my last. Good luck.

This is my home course. There have been numerous improvements made and the staff is really making needed progress to make the course and clubhouse more enjoyable. The fees are more than comparable to others and will offer better services and selection options in the pro shop. It’s very easy for those that play here only once in a while to give The Woods a so-so rating. Play here a lot, and you will notice the difference. ALL the staff is here to help and more than willing to accommodate. With the new system there has been a big influx of folks, so word of caution slow play is going to be a situation. From discussion with the staff, many more changes are on the way. It’s always been a beautiful place and the group there is making it far better than it was. Mornings can be a bit busy, best timing would be early afternoon for tee times. My recommendations… don’t knock it till you try it. Keep up the good work.
