I recently joined here and I’m hooked - they offer early morning classes which is a must for me, the class sizes are small, and the instructors are fantastic. It’s such an efficient, effective way to knock out strength training that’s not terrible on your joints. Highly recommend!

Aside from a killer exercise with minimal post workout recovery time. BODYBAR provides a welcoming and supportive space that really helps you reach those goals both physically and mentally. As soon as you step foot in the door the energy in the room from the community is incredible! I wish I could bottle it up to take home with me. Book a class and experience it for yourself. I like the instructors and classes.
I do think there should be a rule to not allow people taking the class to film. It makes me uncomfortable knowing I may be in the background of someone’s video.
I also wish the lights weren’t so harsh. I’ve been to some other Pilates studios that have low lighting and I prefer that lighting.

I absolutely LOVE this place. The classes are fantastic and the variety of workouts is amazing. The front desk staff are super friendly and always smiling. The instructors are out of this world. They are great and want to see you succeed and help everyone out during each workout to make sure you are doing them correctly and maximizing your workout. A special shout out to Chelsea! She's been there since opening and she is super encouraging and motivating. I hear her all the time complimenting her students and telling them how proud she is of them and their journey. It is such a wonderful thing to hear, especially on the days when you are not feeling your best. I am so glad I joined at this location and I feel so motivated to continue this journey with such a lovely group of women not only with the staff but the other members as well!

I have never enjoyed or remained this consistent with any other fitness regimen than I have at Body Bar. The instructors, staff, ownership, and other members are so nice. I feel very connected to them, and it is an amazing environment focused on improving your overall fitness and mind/body connection together. I love going here, and I would highly recommend it.

Love, love, LOVE bodybar- SOP location. I have been a member for almost a month, and began my bodybar pilates journey in December of 2024. I slowly took my time to get into it, and finally signed up for a membership in April. I love being here, the atmosphere is welcoming, and everyone is so kind. The studio is always super clean, and well prepped for classes! Highly recommend bodybar to all!

I love my BODYBAR community! I had the opportunity to first experience BODYBAR Pilates when I was in Dallas and was soo happy when they opened the 135th and Metcalf location! I loved it so much, I signed up to be an instructor and so glad I did. Everyone is amazing and so supportive of each other. I started Body Bar several months ago. After turning 50 I was going to try something new to get back in shape. I definitely made the right decision. It has been a true blessing. All the instructors are fabulous. Very welcoming and helpful atmosphere. I was hesitate on not being able to do it and with help getting started it has become one of my favorite things. Everyone is ready to help no matter if you're just a beginner or experienced. With lots of classes to choose from!

I have tried other Pilates classes and thought maybe I just didn’t enjoy it. A friend recommended I try this place and I liked it so much I bought a membership. I took BODYBAR's free intro class and fell in love with it. This was the first time I had ever taken a Pilates class, and they made me feel comfortable and welcome.
I currently have the 8 class/month membership but love it so much I am hoping to jump to the unlimited membership soon! BODYBAR Pilates makes working out enjoyable between their supportive instructors and fun community. They have classes for all skill levels or workout types and the instructors will always help make adjustments for you, if needed.

BODYBAR Pilates is an absolutely incredible workout and community! I love the wide variety of classes to take. Some are high intensity while others are focused on slow movements and stretching. You will never take the same class twice as the instructors are always incorporating new moves using the reformer equipment. Take your first class, you won’t regret it!

I can’t say enough about BODYBAR Pilates! I joined when they first opened, and absolutely love this studio. They offer workouts that can be adapted to any fitness level. The instructors are very helpful and are knowledgeable with making minor adjustments according to your physical needs if you have injuries or physical limitations. The staff is very friendly and professional and always welcoming. After the first 10 classes, you will feel different. After 20, people will definitely notice.

As a BODYBAR member for about a year, and now in my mid 40’s, I can say I am stronger and more fit now than I have ever been in my life. Before pilates, I’d always been a cardio-only sort of exerciser, focused mostly on running. Once I started adding in pilates classes, I could see muscle tone I never thought possible for my body, I could suddenly lift my kids pretty effortlessly, my core strength improved drastically, even my running is stronger now, too!
More than that, the mental strength I have gained is invaluable. I have so much more confidence – in my body’s abilities and in my own capacity to do hard things. I love coming to class because I never know what challenge will be thrown at me by the incredible instructors that day. And I now trust my body enough to take any and all of it on. Try a class, keep going and you will literally feel yourself growing stronger.

This would be a 5 star review if they hadn’t been deceitful on our contract and hadn’t refused refunding me almost $100. The instructors are welcoming and friendly. However, the contracts are vague and they will attempt to overcharge you as much as they can. They’re also super hard to get in touch with which caused a delay in me being able to cancel that I ended up having to pay for (even though they took almost a week and a half to get back to me). Super disappointing and it basically ruined my fond memories of BODYBAR. Studios should put students first instead of nickel and diming them. I ended up going to another studio in the area that doesn’t lock students into unnecessary contracts to make money and my business will be going there going forward due to all these problems.

I initially tried a free class at BODYBAR Pilates, assuming it wouldn’t be for me—but I was completely wrong. I started with an 8-class-per-month membership and quickly upgraded to unlimited after realizing how much I loved it. Incorporating BODYBAR Pilates into my routine has helped me build strength while reducing stress. After having kids, my core was so weak that I had to roll out of bed instead of sitting up. Years of poor posture at a desk job led to constant back pain, requiring multiple chiropractor visits each week. I love running but struggled with injuries like plantar fasciitis and weak ankles, making it difficult to stay consistent.
Pilates has changed all of that—my core, back, and feet/ankles are stronger than ever, I no longer need frequent chiropractor visits, and I’ve returned to running consistently without my ankles giving out. My abs are noticeably stronger, making everyday movements feel easier and more supported. The focus on stretching and breathing has not only improved my flexibility but also helped me manage stress; I even use the breathing techniques when balancing work and parenting young kids feels overwhelming.
Beyond the physical benefits, what truly sets BODYBAR Pilates apart is the people. The owners, front desk staff, and instructors are incredible—each bringing their own personality and a genuine investment in your progress. I initially started my Bodybar adventure with a free class, which totally blew my mind, so I bought a package of 10 classes and eventually upgraded to an unlimited plan because, why not? The receptionists and instructors were so warm and welcoming that I felt like I was part of some secret club, and now I'm hooked. If you are new here, no worries, no one will judge you on your form, and you will catch up pretty quickly because I used to be that person who was always afraid to try a Pilates class.

After years of not being able to find a trainer I liked, and all the injuries resulting from my working out unsupervised, I was gifted a month at BodyBar for my birthday! It’s slow, concentrated movements that remind you how strong you really are, without overdoing it. The environment is so loving and supportive, even to someone who is decidedly not graceful - everyone was new once! And the instructors are better than any trainer I’ve had in KC (special “heeyyy!” to Maureen and Chelsea). They know your name and your face, and are fantastic about modifying movements for my severely arthritic knees. Pilates is for everyone, and I highly recommend BodyBar South Overland Park!!

I love Pilates at Body Bar.
I no longer go to the chiropractor. My body is pain-free. I was an operating room nurse for 26 years. I feel if everyone went to Pilates, there would be a lot less orthopedic surgery.. it Strengthens your whole body. So thankful for Body Bar!

As a first-timer to pilates, I was insanely scared on my first day. Now, nearly 5 months in, I am SO thankful I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and gave BodyBar a chance.
The studio is very clean and well-kept and the staff are all extremely kind, warm, and welcoming. I always look forward to my chats with Layla and Jenni. :) The instructors are also so great- each in their own ways! Emily is the sweetest person you'll ever meet, Chelsea is super personable and enthusiastic, Megan and Adrienne are the most encouraging people ever (which really helps because their workouts will kick your butt), and Joanna is very attentive. I could go on and on about how amazing the ladies are here!
Additionally, the studio is a very diverse and inclusive space. One of my biggest fears was being judged and not having a safe-space, but now I look forward to seeing the friends that I've made at pilates. :) My health and wellness journey has been quite the struggle as it has been difficult to find something to be consistent with, so thank you times a million to BodyBar for helping me find an activity that I am so passionate about and look forward to each and every day!
