Genesis Health Clubs, Leavenworth, KS 🏋️‍♂️

I recently got a membership at the Genesis Health Club here in Leavenworth, Kansas and I’m very glad I did. I’ve been receiving physical therapy from Mowery Rehab, which is located in the same building, and joining Genesis alongside my therapy felt like the right step toward rebuilding my health and strength. It’s already proving to be a smart decision.

The facility has everything you could want in a full-service fitness center. The weight room is well equipped, the cardio room has plenty of machines, and the lap pool is accommodating with multiple lanes — perfect for steady, low-impact training. The entire gym is well-maintained, organized, and genuinely clean, something I truly appreciate.

They also offer massage services, aerobics classes, and a range of amenities that make this a one-stop shop for fitness and wellness. There’s even a smoothie and shake bar. I haven’t tried it yet, but the chocolate peanut butter protein shake is at the top of my list.

I joined during the Black Friday sale, and I’m grateful I did. I’m happy to be a member at Genesis, and I’m looking forward to getting back in shape right here in Leavenworth 💯

Alex had the steam room impeccable for awhile and now I think he’s gone because it’s back to being trashed. The smell is awful, the floor is slimy and weird, the walls have black stuff on them again. I’ve never left a bad review for someone in my life but get so tired of telling people and nothing gets done. We all pay to use the amenities there and can’t. It’s not hard to wash it out and wipe it down 4-5 times a week. Leave a hose back there and a lot of members will do it.

Please, please, please. Please take care of the water quality in the pool! It's so dirty. I'm getting a skin disease. This isn't pool water! It's like a polluted sewer! It took a month to change the light bulb in the men's steam sauna. This is really surprising! You money-obsessed Genesis CEO! Please pay attention to the Genesis in Leavenworth!!

Visiting from Kc. When we entered no one greeted us. I use the pool for my workout. The pool water is green, cloudy and you cant see the bottom at all. The hot tub is blocked off with caution tape. The whole Aquatics area is dank and dirty. No thank you driving to Olathe.

Steam room is constantly broken and they make no serious effort to fix it. Floors in the rooms where they teach classes (like Pilates and yoga) are very dirty and caked with mud, dust, hair, etc.

I signed up for a 3 day trial as I just moved to Leavenworth from a couple towns over. Got a call shortly after I signed up. They wanted to know why my phone number was attached to another account (who knows I’ve had this phone number for a year now). The guy me a bunch of questions about why I moved, what I was looking for, and such but when I asked what I could do for him cause I have a meeting in 10 minutes he got really snippy and rude. I just wanted to check the place out but this was a pretty good indication of why I am going with Anytime down the road.

I get people being busy can be annoying when you’re trying to sell memberships but the #1 one way to lose a customer is be rude to them.

Absolutely impressed with this gym. Initially they give you a tour of everything and show you around. You get a few coaching sessions included with your membership. On top of the very well kept environment, the workers were all very nice and welcoming. Which was the selling point for me because I was very nervous to get in public gym. 10/10 recommend.

I have been coming to Genesis Health Club Leavenworth for a little over 6 years now and have had great service from a number of employees. Aimee; Kaden; Jeremiah; and Tristan; to name a few, have been incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful to myself and a lot of the friends I have made throughout the years while working out here.

This is a great facility and the staff is always super helpful. I visit town frequently and Caden always helps me with a week or a day pass, whatever I need, to get in and stay consistent in the gym while I'm travelling. Can't recommend visiting this place enough.

I was very insecure to the thought of joining a gym until my health became a concern. I did a tour at Genesis Health Club in Leavenworth, Kansas and was happy with the amount of workout equipment and fitness classes they had to offer. Trainer Michael Austin, helped motivate me and taught me exercises that met my goals. He is always punctual and greets everyone with a welcoming smile. I particularly appreciated him explaining each exercise to avoid injury and get the results I'm looking for. I already see visual progress in strength and self image. I would highly recommend Mike, especially for those who are looking to break away from insecurities and have a trainer who listens, is knowledgeable, and supportive of your goals.

I’ve been a member here for a while and while the workout areas are decent the spa and locker room facilities are seriously lacking in cleanliness and upkeep.

The jacuzzi water is regularly dark with a noticeable film on the surface, which is a clear sign of poor water quality and lack of proper sanitation. It doesn’t appear well maintained or properly treated. The steam room in the men's area is questionable at best with a foamy residue and grime on the floors. The showers on the east side of the men's locker room have a strong stagnant water smell that makes the whole experience feel unclean.

I have brought these issues to the attention of team members numerous times but nothing has changed. If you're joining for the spa or locker room amenities don’t. They are not on top of cleanliness or maintenance and it really detracts from the experience.

As a first time visitor, w/a seven day guest pass, I was very impressed by the extremely kind and friendly front desk staff that greeted me and introduced me to the manager, who gave me a tour of the Club.
It was immaculately, clean and very well organized.

In the past year and a half that I’ve been a member of this gym, it’s always something that comes up. First of all, I’ve been trying to get a key tag this entire time, they always make up some excuse not to give me one. So checking in at this gym is an absolute nightmare, especially because they want you to either speak to their rude staff or use a website to check in, that doesn’t work more than half of the time. Just give me a key tag already!!!!

Secondly, one of the biggest issues is half of their staff are extremely rude. I had to stop using the childcare center because the girl who was running it at the time was trying to start drama every last time I went there. The janitor here is rude, a couple people on the front desk are rude, giving dirty looks, telling you they straight up won’t help you. Can’t give you information on anything at all. They don’t even know their personal trainers or their information. It’s so disorganized. The only consistent thing with this place is getting anxiety that someone is going to harass you when you go. Unpleasant by far.

The staff are super friendly and professional. I love that they have everything at this gym; lockers with combination locks, showers with soap, shampoo & conditioner, lotion, hair dryers, deodorant, and hair spray. Towels are also provided. They have a pool and sauna and everything is kept clean. They even have child care. My trainer is Tristan and she has done an amazing job getting me back into shape. I am retired military and my husband is active duty. We are impressed with all that this gym has to offer. I have only been here for less than 9 months so I haven't been able to try everything such as all their classes, but I am looking forward to continuing my membership with this club. My favorite thing to do after a workout is to get a fresh protein shake from this gym’s shake bar. They even gave me a free shake for my birthday 🥰

Went inside and canceled with a manager 2 months ago, and have proof of signed papers. Yet I have been billed twice since then. I called and asked what the problem was and they said oh yeah, we forgot to mention but you still get billed a few times after you canceled. COMPLETE CRAP

First of all, I have been to gyms all over the world, in the US and Europe. This gym stood out to me the most and is at the top of my list. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, I had the pleasure of meeting Kaden, who attended to my needs instantly and made sure I was well taken care of. Then had a delicious smoothie and good conversation with Kendall who was working the front desk. Perfect way to end my workout. The gym has all the equipment you need and then more….the locker rooms are extremely clean including every other part of the gym. I highly recommend this gym and am very pleased with my experience!

Wow, great guest service! I signed up for a tour of the facility online and was promptly greeted by Kaden who showed me so much hospitality.

I've been a member at the Leavenworth Genesis for a year now and my experience has been phenomenal especially training with personal trainers, Tristan and Joell. I'm in the military so both have been very flexible with my constant changes in work schedule especially this year. Tristan is an excellent lead trainer is always available to fit me in her schedule whenever my trainer is on vacation. They'll hit you with a bunch of hidden fees at the very end of your discussion to sign up. Their manager was completely unprofessional over the phone and wouldnt clearly articulate costs or fees, and instead answered questions with questions in return. Their gym equipment is ill maintained and mismatched and not nearly plentiful enough to prevent weight lifters from sitting around waiting on others to finish. Workout for free on post or go to another gym, this wasnt worth the overpriced contract.

I was a previous member here years ago when I lived in LV and they were always so friendly and provided great service. However, I have moved out of country for some time now. Obviously, I still come back to LV to visit family and I always find myself without a gym, which takes me totally out of my routine! This time around, I decided to call Genesis just to see what kind of opportunities they had for someone in town for only 2 weeks. They completely shocked me with their great plans! They hooked me and my husband up with a pass! Completely affordable and truly amazing for all the services you get here (sauna, pool, hot tub, indoor track, boxing area, classes, free weights, cardio area)! It’s so hard to find great gyms like this these days and I can’t emphasize enough how great it is to be able to workout during my short stay. And on top of all that, the process for the pass was easy as all get out. Highly recommend this gym for people in all situations, whether you’re here long term or just passing by, they clearly know how to provide for the people! Thanks, Genesis team & staff!

This gym has been a life changer for me. I have always been shy about going to gyms, but I gave it a shot and was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming it is to all sorts of people - young, old, great condition, working on it - you'll see it all. Shelby and those at the desk are so welcoming, you can't help but feel like it's going to be a good day to workout.

The main area does not have a gym-bro feeling (even though there are some gym-bros) as you'll see all walks of life. There is a wide variety of machines and tons are always open. The women's locker room is spotless. The only downside is the pool can be a little gross, but that's probably because it's really popular for the classes, people rehabbing, and competitive swimmers.

I currently work with a trainer - Shannon - who I adore. She will kick my butt and build me up all at the same time. Even months in, pretty much every time I leave I am reminded of our workout the next day as my muscles are sore! (In a good way!) She changes things around to fit what your goals are and what's best for your body. Friendly to all, I definitely would not enjoy working out if it wasn't for her. She has made working out the bright spot of my week.

I've also worked with a previous trainer who was fabulous and one of the somewhat newer trainers - Dani when I wanted to get in an extra day of training. She was a delight and brought exercises out I hadn't even heard of. Tristen is also fabulous! She's funny and kind and clearly cares a lot about the gym and those who are there.

Can there be kinks in their system? Sure. I had one billing issue but it was due to my lack of action and their previous system. Tristen was super quick to help me out and made it right. While it feels like an independent gym because of the community, it's one of a huge corporation of gyms. Things happen.

Love this gym, it has daycare… enough said there. It was so hard to find a time to work out, go to work, and do everything else. This place saved us! My wife and I can finally workout together again. They have plenty of equipment!

I am very disappointed in their policy of not allowing members to bring in their military guest for a shorter pass then 60 days. Considering we are located near Fort Leavenworth. $60 for a 5-7 days is retarded. The focus shouldn’t be more members. It should be taking care of the members that you already have. I will be finding a gym that focuses on their current members. No need to respond to this!

I worked out at Genesis for about 10 months prior to starting personal training. I am in my 40s, but don’t feel like I get a good work out. If I don’t challenge my body. Thankfully, I found Tristan for personal training! She provides a great work out and pays close attention to form which I need! I am a person that gets migraines due to muscle tension. Tristan is very conscientious of avoiding anything that will do more harm than good to my body.

Tristan has a bachelors of science in kinesiology and athletic training. She holds many certifications as well. Her knowledge helps her understand the unique needs your body needs to achieve your goals. She has pushed me to new levels of strength I didn’t realize I could achieve. She takes the time to educate you on what muscles you are using during the exercise and why so you are prepared to work without her one day. Her goal is for you to achieve your goal safely. Having her as your trainer will show you results quicker than you thought possible. I do not know how I worked out before having her as my trainer

This location is very poorly run, I was told that the sauna would be fixed in three weeks, that was over three months ago now, the staff changes literally on a daily and there is never an actual manager on duty. The parking lot is full of litter and overgrown weeds which just as a testament to the poorly run business and in the way that they maintain the business as well. After waiting on the sauna to be repaired so that I could at least enjoy something there after tearing a muscle. I had to have surgery and requested a cancellation in which I did so in the time that I was told to do and was still charged for a renewal fee for the year as well as two months after, needless to say I will absolutely never refer this business to anyone and I will never be a client/customer again.

Would give this gym a 6 star rating if possible. I’m from out of town and was just looking to check out a gym. Absolutely loved my experience. Reminds me of the movie “Pain and Gain” with Mark Wahlberg. Wish this gym was in my hometown.

Genesis Health Clubs—LV—is the where the area’s top contender for delivery of quality physical fitness behaviors. Every staff member employed here, from the certified personal trainers to the custodians to the group X instructors, are superb in tasks of responsibility, demonstrate knowledgeable information, and are friendly and considerate. Members are willing to assist every new person who is curious about trying a new physical activity class. I’m confident that I’m going to continue belonging here for a while.

I was only in the area temporarily, but am glad I discovered this place! I got to take advantage of a three day free pass while in the Leavenworth area. The staff (I believe the gentleman who showed me around when I first showed up, was Davis) and the equipment (both amount and condition) were definitely above what I had initially expected. The only issue I had with my experience was that I knew I did not have this gym close enough to my hometown to go to.

If you want a quality gym this is the place to be! Here you feel like a member. The staff is very polite and professional and do good job making sure the gym is clean and in working order for the members. The proteins shakes are a great way to end a workout and start your day!

Way to expensive compared to Anytime fitness. Hours are better then what they use to be, but Anytime Fitness is cheaper and way more convenient. Yes Genesis has a pool, sauna, basketball court and special classes, but there pool is always filthy the hot tub jets don’t blow and the water is always brown. The sauna is normally down and the main door flys open been that way for months and I’m concerned it may hurt someone or break the glass. Almost forgot to mention half the free weight dumbbells are missing and a few of there machines are constantly broken or can’t be used. Management seems to be very poor not as in wealth as I’m sure they very stingy and would explain the gyms overall condition.

I have been hoping for years now that the care and attention to detail put into all the other Kansas locations be applied to the Leavenworth location. Machines are old and often broken down. A few of the staff are very welcoming, but most including management are stand-offish and dismissive. During the winter months, the parking lots aren't even plowed or salted to prevent falls or injuries. It's just disappointing 😞. I love Genesis...just not the one I live nearest.

Love how many opportunities to workout in different scenarios, including classes and smith machines to the pool and hot tub. But the fact that the Kids Club has limited hours really bummed me out. I am not able to workout as much anymore because of that. A little disappointed.

My family and i have been members of gym for close to 20 years, even before it was Genesis. Just canceled membership, due to not being able to add a friend onto my account. I removed my son and wanted to add a friend but the manager said it had to be a family member. So, I said I'll just cancel my three accounts and workout on post. After all those years of having multiple memberships, not once did they try to keep me as a customer. Oh, by the way nice gym, just very poor customer service, unless you are paying for a trainer, different story then. Save your money buy your own equipment.

Genesis gym in all aspects is a great gym however this particular location always has broken equipment and or sauna or hot tub is always broken . You pay a monthly fee to not get full service- if the hot tub or sauna is broken all the time I think they should accommodate gym members ?

This is a really nice gym with nice amenities. The downside is it would be so much better if they would change to a 24 hour with key fob entry for those wanting to work out later especially on the weekends when they close earlier.

Steam room has been broken for over a month now! Everytime i ask about it being fixed the employees act like there going out of there way to answer a simple question. The only reason I choose this gym is because of the amenities but if this problem isn't corrected then I will be canceling my membership of 9 years!

Every time I go for a workout I am greeted by a professional and the gym is always clean. The facility is a step above any other offered in the area offering much more than most gyms including swimming and my favorite pickle ball! The showers are clean as well and after my workout I can be off to my job. Thanks Genesis for going above and beyond.

Nice facility and generally friendly employees. The childcare area was dirty and had to repeatedly wait on employees to show up after it opened. I got the sense that they just wanted the kids to sit in front of the TV so they could sit in the corner. I asked them multiple times to not turn the TV on if it was just my kids in the room, but they would turn it on anyway. Some of the front desk employees were not very helpful or knowledgeable. They also are a little sneaky and say that they won’t allow you to cancel your account on the weekends, trying to make me pay for another month. I think the facility is great, but they could raise the bar on training their employees to be professional and friendly.
