My other review could of been nicer, but I went in yesterday as of April 10, 2025. I was questioned about my silver sneakers/ renewactive cause I'm young and was told I can't have that and Medicare and Medicaid. It took almost an hour to get me back in the system cause I was signed by someone they fired cause they were ignorant and messed up my info. I would not recommend and I'm going to call around to a gym who wants customers and people around. They gave me shirts and 2 free smoothies but than gave me one smoothie and complained how they would run out of product before closing time, so is that I'm owed for your mess up not as important as money. No respect at all. Update: the regional manager was not worth talking to, he was more unprofessional than the gm at Northside. As I said on other one, the only fair trade for my discrimination is this location, it's nicer in actuality. It might not have as much, but they have more respect here and don't lie to you. The regional manager Jamie trapped me and told me to stay after to talk. Never trust a person with a weak handshake.

Went to genesis gym....and thought they were legit ...they are crooks and they are not legit on keeping their word...and they give you a run around for your 💵....don't go and sign up...for a membership...bc you will get fraudulent responses...and the run around...and the 7 day advertisement is lies all 🤥. I love the convience of the location for my home and work. Started bringing my brother to the North location. The north location manager appearred to have an attitude towards people that are finanically less fortunate or those that are a bit different physically. My brother bought membership from the south west location from Andrew, very nice, kind person... the next day my brother and I came to the north location and Ed the manager came over very fast to make my brother scan his member card again to make sure it worked.... this is going to make me use the southwest location more now, it is out of my way from work and home, but being treated like this is not good customer service.

I live out of town and the past 2 times I’ve been back to visit family, I have used this gym. Every time I have used the facility, it has been a very pleasant experience. The staff has been very kind and helpful making it very easy for me to get a few work outs in. I live in AZ & the drop in price seems reasonable to me. The times I have been, have never been over crowded, the locker room area always seems clean & comfortable. There is a good amount of equipment to fulfill whatever type of work out one is trying to achieve. I’ve been super thankful to have access to this gym. I prefer classes which seem sparse around these areas (for drop ins like cycle, HIIT, CrossFit etc) so Genesis is the perfect solution. I cannot comment on full memberships as I do not have one, nor need one but generally speaking it’s a great place to get a work out!

First, equipment looked awesome which drew me in, BUT Pressure selling is annoying and smart remarks were unnecessary. When a person is married they consult their wife before signing year long contracts. I realize it's only 60.00 a month but after I tell you I will be back tomorrow with a point to move forward (which i was going to add my wife). Likes to take advantage of the elderly with disabilities. Tried pressure selling and misrepresented what you do not get with Ouran up charge. Made cancelation challenging and you do not get all your money's returned. I have seen a lot of reviews with negative feedback. Taking advantage of any one with disabilities is an unethical practice for any company. There is laws and we are going to pursue legal options. Good thing we have a family lawyer.

I've been a member since before Genesis was Genesis, it was Maximus in North Topeka. I believe the services at this facility (North Topeka) have slipped. The availability of towels is lacking, there's no reason for that at 9:00 am. The lockers in the locker room, at least the mens locker room, need to be attended to as quite afew of them no longer work. It seems to me that vacuuming of the rugged areas has gone by the wayside. I bring these items up only to make you aware of how I see things. I enjoy working out, I go three days a week and have for years and I want Genesis to be the best it can be. Thanks........

We have been coming to Genesis North Topeka since January! When we come and get to enjoy the gym it's good, however there has been several mornings that when we get to the gym, no one is there to open it. Meaning their morning worker didn't come in.
It's extremely frustrating to have a morning routine and plan to work out before work and then you can because they can't rely on responsible staff.
Not to mention the 20 minute drive to the gym and the disappointment when your pre-work out kicks in and you can't utilize it.
Too bad the SW location didn't have earlier classes, I would not recommend the North Gym for anyone's morning workout routine, they will fail you.

I have always been able to get access to machines when I've been there--even now with social distancing being the focus. My experience was short because all I needed was a gym for the summer. I am a student athlete and was strictly coming to maintain my current fitness level and once the gyms opened I went right to Genesis! Kelsey was AMAZING & all the staff were very understanding of my situation. There is a lot of equipment & LOTS of room to maintain 6 ft distance during these times. Sanitization stations were plentiful & I felt safe working out at Genesis every single time. If I could afford & stay in Topeka, I would be keeping my membership.

I have been into the Topeka North Genesis on multiple occasions. It's easy to see that everyone employed at this facility truly cares about the well being of all their members. The people at the front desk are always smiling and welcome you with open arms, the fitness advisors are always so willing to answer questions and are always professional. The Club Manager walks the floor and holds motivating conversations with people. Even when you can tell that she's in the middle of handling business, she will stop and ask how you're doing, or to have a wonderful day. I would rate 0 stars if possible.. Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT waste your time with this company, sign up for Colaw or Crunch if you're looking for a membership in the Topeka area. Genesis solely cares about how much money they can scam out of you and meeting a monthly contract quota. I work nearby this club and was bothered everyday by one of their Fitness Advisors to sign up with them - texts, calls, and showing up at my work every single day, sometimes twice even after repeatedly expressing no interest in a membership! I explained numerous times that I wasn't interested in a contract because I knew that in the next year I would be moving and was unsure if there would be a club nearby wherever I decided to go for school. I was told by the FA who signed me up that if I were to move somewhere farther than 40 miles away from a club, I would be able to terminate my contract early without paying the buyout fee if I provided proof of address. Fast forward a year, I just got accepted into a college out of state and call to cancel my membership, wondering what kind of documents they would prefer as proof of new residency and was told that they have no record of this promise made by the FA who no longer works there meaning they are unable to honor it, so basically it was all made up in order to get me to sign the contract so this man could meet his quota. He was absolutely desperate to get me to sign that he would've told me anything in order to convince me. I'm not upset with the current workers because I'm sure they think I am lying since they are unaware of the terms I was promised, but when I called asking questions as to why I was made so many promises in order to coerce me into signing a 3 year contract, I was met with an arrogant and annoyed "manager" who just repeated the same thing to me, not answering any of my questions, just speaking to me as if I'm stupid. This club is rarely ever opened on time, the saunas grow mold and are never working properly, the CM, OM and FA hang out as if they aren't at work and often show up whenever they want, causing inconveniences when trying to get stuff like this sorted out and most of the front desk workers have no idea what they're doing considering they hire new people every other week (says a lot about how the club is ran) ... I do believe this is the case for most Genesis clubs unless you go to one of the bigger "super" clubs. I wouldn't waste your time with this company or gym. I wish I would've done more research online before signing with Genesis because after today, I've realized I am not the first nor will I be the last person that Genesis completely scams.

Love this gym. love the SO MANY of the classes. I just did zumba for the first time tonight. It was amazing, so much fun. I can see and feel a difference in my body.t with these doing different classes it keeps me from getting board and being able to maintain a routine of working out. they have a great variety here. It be nice if staff could get there early enough to open it on time. Also need to remember to bring an allen wrench to tighten bolts on the equipment before they back all they way out. There is no triceps extension machine or standing calf raise. Use the assist bar on the chest press to work calves. Gotta have at least 3 ways to work each body part.

Since our retirement, my husband and I really enjoy coming to the Genesis Health club in North Topeka. Everytime that we enter the facility we are warmly welcomed by the front desk staff. I signed up for an 18 Month special and signed on their IPAD. I was told they would email me the contract and when I received it I realized they signed me up for 36 months. After realizing this I called and was told they put a note on my account that I could cancel after 18 Months but the contract said otherwise. After several days of getting the run around I ended up going in person and talking to a manager. They told me they put a note in the system and I would be fine when I canceled but I demanded that they put that in writing. They have a very bad reputation for these deceptive practices so beware and read your contract!

I love the classes and the people at the Genesis Health Club! I'm so glad I signed up - as a lifetime couch potato, I didn't know where to begin, but after only a couple of months, I feel right at home there!

Great gym. Gets crowded during peak hours, but generally has all all equipment and machines needed for a good workout. Newly remodeled and has a great shake station. Would like to see a basketball court available.

They got all kind of great programs today and the stuff there great they come up to u to see if u need help with anything and ask u if anyone show u how to use the equipment there they sure u no how to use it the right way I give this gym a big A+++ for all there hard work to all the stuff there

Worst costumer service ever! I will never go to another Genesis. The information I was given was a misrepresentation of the truth. I was told by Amy that I could pay for one month (the last month of the summer). I teach and absolutely would not have agreed to a 24 month contract. I am a trusting person so when I was asked to sign the IPad I did without asking any questions. I feel like I was lied to and deceived. I hope you will make this right. I workout every morning in my home and have no need for a gym membership. Never again!

Love the atmosphere! The machines are great. The place is never too crowded. I've enjoyed the boot camp class offered so far. I often workout right before work, so I like the towel service & convenience for showering and such. Locker rooms are nice! Everyone has been friendly. I'm not a fan of the daycare hours & price option. I am kind of upset, because right after I got my membership they started a deal of 31% off monthly memberships! I wish I would have waited a bit longer & got that discount. Haha. Overall, not too shabby!! I hope to use the personal trainers a few times a week starting soon. Colby was awesome!! & I know John from high school, so I he for sure has to be awesome too! Thank you Genesis for an awesome gym membership experience so far!!

I also tan right next door, so that works out pretty good.

Iv always gone to genesis and have seen multiple locations. It's fairly nice and has alot of equipment. I'm able todo a full workout everyday I go. But they need to update some of their free weights and other small equipment. Then it would be perfect

The remodeled club looks great. The open floor space is nice and inviting. The staff is great. My favorite things about this club are the new equipment, the convenient location and the shake bar.

I joined once they took over for maximus and signed up for a membership until December 2016. Last time I went was September 2016 and found no need to keep paying $50 for a gym membership so I let my membership expire come December. Just yesterday I was going through several months of bank statements and realize they have been charging me every month since December. Tried reaching management and have still yet to hear anything back but I would like for a refund of my money they have been taking for me.

Poorly maintained equipment. Disrepectful clientele. Nobody cleans up or puts weights away when finished, including trainers. Time to find a new gym

I really enjoy this gym. For me it's worth the drive to N. Topeka until the renovations are being done to 37th. It's spacious, clean, nice equipment and the steam room is heaven. Would be nice if a trainer was on hand at all times for questions about equipment.

I am here several times a week and am so happy to have a beautiful new gym to workout in North Topeka. Only a few minor complaints. One, it's often times very hot inside the club.. and on the free weight side there are only one set of 10's, 15, 20 and 25's. Being female, I use these sizes most. Also most of the benches are broken and need replaced. I feel that the quality could be better for benches. Otherwise the staff is great, the place is a nice size and I enjoy each time I go.
