I’ve been going to this gym for about a year and a half now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. From the start, it felt like more than just a gym — it’s a true community. The environment is welcoming, encouraging, and supportive. Over time, it’s started to feel more like a family than just a place to work out.

The structure is a great fit for me. It’s not completely free-form, and it’s not rigid personal training either. Coach Anna creates a personalized workout plan for you and is there to guide and support you, but also gives you the space to work at your own pace. It’s the perfect balance of independence and coaching.

KC Weightlifting is also an awesome place for families and people of all ages. Whether you’re just starting out, getting back into it, or training seriously, there’s room for everyone. You’ll see kids, parents, and even grandparents all working hard and having a great time.

If you’re into Olympic weightlifting — or even just curious about it — this is the place to be. The coaching is excellent, the equipment is top-notch, and the energy during lifting sessions is always motivating. If you’re interested, I’d recommend emailing the coach to come in for a practice session!

If you’re looking for a gym where people know your name, cheer you on, and genuinely care, I can’t recommend this place enough.

coach anna is amazing. she radiates positivity and encouragement and has the expertise to continue to help you learn, no matter your skill set. my daughter and i have been hesitant to try an olympic weightlifting gym until we walked in there and met coach anna. one workout, and we were hooked. we love the personalized programming and the attention she provides everyone lifting. we are very fond of our 500am lifting crew and the gym dogs are an extra bonus!

I started coming here in October of last year and had never weight trained before and I have had a great experience so far!

All the people there are positive and encouraging and Anna is amazingly easy to work with. I have a few re-occuring injuries that always mess me up when I would try to work out on my own and she easily modified my workouts so that I wouldn't hurt myself and also that would strengthen those areas. I will probably keep weight training as long as I can.

Started with a primal knowledge of lifts & Coach Anna had a skill to motivate & encourage at the level I was at. As I progressed, coaching was more tailored to my level and humbling enough to keep my old lady ego in check.

Programming was also catered to the days I could go as I have a drive far enough away to not go every day. Fellow athletes are encouraging with humor and gummy bears for all. Great experience so far….
