I was looking for a trainer to bring strength training into my overall health and wellness activities. A friend recommended Per Aspera Strength and it could not be a more perfect match! Esmie understands me and my approach to working out. She tailors the sessions to get the most from me. I love the balance of accountability and flexibility... I can do workouts from home or work out at the facilities. She will even adjust workouts so that I can do them when traveling! I have gained both strength and confidence and I look forward to continuing on this journey.

I’m gonna say I had the greatest experience. She took her time with me knowing that I hadn’t been in the gym in a long time. It was a good workout and and I loved every minute of it. I recommend it to anybody because they know what they doing.

I started working with Esmie from Per Aspera in November 2023 as a senior needing to gain strength and mobility. She was excellent tailoring my workouts to match my ability levels and I was getting strong! Then after a serious injury in 2024 I was sidelined for months. She helped me pick up again and keep going. She always has the best ideas to modify moves and is always available to offer support. I'm looking forward to checking out their new gym. I highly recommend Per Aspera to anyone looking to get strong and not deal with the gym rat culture.

(Strength training for older people.). I have been following a virtual strength training program with Per Aspera for over a year, and my experience has been phenomenal. My workouts have dramatically increased my strength and fitness, while remaining sensitively attuned to the effects on a “mature” body. The communication with my trainer has been excellent. I am 70 years old, and I strongly recommend Per Aspera fitness.

Per Aspera Strength is the best strongman gym in the KC area. The gym has everything you could want for strongman but also accommodates powerlifting, general strength training, and has an awesome selection of armlifting/grip implements. The equipment is very nice and well maintained. The gym features a nice turf aisle for running events, many combo/squat racks, a wide selection of sandbags, kegs, and atlas stones, as well as other fun equipment like a loadable atlas stone, loadable husafel stone, wagon wheels, weight over bar implement, etc. On top of this, the owners are some of the friendliest and most accommodating people you could ask for. They go out of their way to make sure everyone feels included, taken care of it, and has what they need to get their program done. They also offer coaching for strongman, powerlifting, or general strength training. I highly recommend this gym to anyone needing a fantastic strongman gym or anybody looking to focus on any form of strength training.

Per Aspera is hands-down the best strongman gym in KC!! The owners are incredibly friendly and genuinely care about the quality of the gym and the experience of everyone who walks through the door. I especially love how inclusive the environment is, whether you’re just starting out or lifting huge numbers, there’s space and equipment for you. They’ve thought of everything, with weights and implements that accommodate all levels and sizes. You don’t get this level of care anywhere else. I always look forward to training here.

this place ROCKS! The owners are really friendly and care about your health as a whole person, not just as a lifter. The space is easy to navigate for lifters of all levels.

One of my favorite programs they do is group trainings, where you can learn strongman basics and get into the sport. I did one of these trainings at their old location and it got me so into the sport that I did a competition just a year later.

Run, don’t walk, to get a membership!!!
