my husband and i got there (first time ever). i wanted to tan, i didn’t see any staff. My husband went to ask a trainer how to get started in the tanning room and the trainer knew absolutely nothing and kept talking about nonsense that wasent even remotely relevant to his question. We walked around for a bit checking out the place and he went and asked again. The receptionist didn’t acknowledge him at all, nose glued to her phone. The trainer came up to him and was very snarky saying “it’s ready for you, just walk into any room and press start”. So we did. I got done tanning, walked out with my husband (i needed help with my back lol), and i walked into the massage room. A random lady came knocking on the door being VERY disrespectful. My husband and I tried explaining to her that it was our first time and that we didn’t know what we were doing except that the trainer told us that if we already signed in at the desk (scanning our cards) that we could just walk in and use anything. The lady then proceeded to raise her voice and say “I was standing at the desk the entire time and i didn’t see you anywhere” she was in fact not at the reception desk at all. It was all just a bad experience. Horrible customer service, beautiful equipment though. So i guess thats something. Save to say that my husband and I will NOT be returning to the Hutchinson location again.

I wanted to love it here, and I tried to. But after being harassed by multiple male patrons while I’m just trying to work out and then the staff doing nothing about it, I’m done. I reported both men to the front desk and all I was met with was “If he does it again, we will kick him out.” Shouldn’t someone be kicked out immediately for breaking the law? These patrons TOUCHED by body without my consent while I was working out. They came up to me, started a “conversation” and reached out and touched my body while talking to me. I’m no longer comfortable working out here; I’m always on edge when I’m there. I get stared at by male patrons as well every time I’m there, and I’ve seen some take out their phones around me, possibly recording me. The staff just sits around on their phones and are otherwise no where to be found. At this point the patrons themselves need to be supervised by someone, paired with actionable consequences contingent on inappropriate behavior. I will be reporting this to corporate!

As I visit family in Hutchinson frequently, I purchased a one-year membership online so I could workout when in town. Monday, June 30 was to be my first visit, and I arrived at about 7:00 on that rainy morning. Despite the posted hours (on the door and website) claiming an opening time of 5:00 a.m., the doors were locked and no one was present. A few other members arrived around the same time and made the same frustrating discovery.

I’m on the road on business and drove out of my way to come here and it’s closed for renovations of something it says open on google you have no idea how infuriating this is I pay money for this service if it said it was closed that would have been no problem but I rushed here to make it before it said they close at 10 I am extremely ticked off

I love that I can come in, tan, workout, shower, use a massage chair, and have associates there for questions if needed. It feels like a safe and friendly place to be. I do miss the 24 hours though, but that’s okay! I still enjoy the facility very much!

Well I went out of state for 9 days and I was unaware that you couldn't leave stuff overnight that's my fault completely but when I showed up and noticed all my belonging and everything were gone like nothing was in the lost and found either
my headphones cologne expensive cologne at that shoes and my ole miss hoodies who would want an ole miss hoodie in kansas and my pants and backpack they honestly couldn't give me enough time to try and claim it like 2 weeks I'd like the owner to reach out to me they had no remorse one of the employees were trying to claim someone else's cologne in front of me at that disrespectful

The 0pen 24 hours a day is bs. The parking lot was cleared yesterday but it remained closed all day. I rated this place a 5 a few years back,I've been going there at least 10 years, it has gradually went down hill. I stopped by at 0630 again today (1/7/2025) still closed. I don't know if they went out of business or if it needs to be 70 degrees before they reopen. I'll be going to genis probably. They've remained open through all the bad weather. Too bad. I actually liked the staff and the equipment.

I love there is enough equipment you do not have to wait for long to use a machine that you are wanting to use. Even when it is busy on the app it don't seem too bad in the roomy gym. I love that you always see staff walking around and cleaning up the areas and making sure there is plenty of the cleaning spray and paper towels so that we can wipe down the machines. I love the fact that even the patrons are friendly for the most part.

Quite and ALWAY'S get a good workout in the late evenings! Great atmosphere and can we please get more 45lbs plates to be staged in the other areas where they use them for free weigh exercises.. So I travel for work, and the premium membership is perfect, and i would highly recommend it to those who are in the same world of travel.

This gym setup was better than what i expected. Nice layout of exercise machines, cleanliness of facility as well as respectful staff and patrons.

Would not only recommend a membership to planet fitness but also would recommend this location(Hutchinson, KS.) whether you're a resident of this town or an individual passing through.

The gym is great...the staff is great...the only thing is some of the Morning Regulars think that the rules dont apply to them...for example carrying bags of clothing from machine to machine and also not wiping down equipment...instead using questionable towels of their own that are sweaty and stained...if everyone would follow the policies it would be even better place to work out

Affordable gym. Clean building and locker rooms. Polite staff. The patrons are decent people. It definitely lives up to their motto of "Judgment free zone." Some of the equipment is worn, but staff typically are good about repairing them in a timely manner when they're down.

My only complaint is that I wish staff would unlock both doors instead of just one. My pride can't handle jamming my face into the door on my way out for much longer. 😅

Low key, very clean and easy functional equipment. Love the staff. Just wish they’d go back to open later. Especially on weekends. A lot of the time by the time i get off work I’m too late to make it for a work out because they close at 7:00. I get it being small town not open 24 hrs but open till 10:00 every day seams very reasonable. So that part sucks.

I like working out here but they close so early all surrounding planet fitness stay open 24hrs . I don’t understand why the fees didn’t go down and you still pay the same price? They could at least stay open until midnight??? I asked the manager what we had to do to get them to stay open later and he said “get us about 5000 more members” ??? They have never had that many members and stayed open 24hrs all I’m asking is until midnight. I had to cancel my membership and a lot of other people did too because the limited hours. It’s really sad because I enjoy going there

Absolutely love the facility and the amenities however I'm giving a 2 star review cause of my experience on my first day. I walk through the doors with my brother and i'm greeted by a polite receptionist, he took my pic for the photo ID and told me to have fun. I was not given a tour of the facility and so I mistakenly went into an area I thought had more equipment, only to find it was just an empty hallway. So on my way back out of the hallway I'm stopped by the rudest employee one could ever meet. And he told me and my guest, "what do you think you all were doing back there?" and I respectfully explained I was just curious to see if there was anything over there cause it's my first day, and he knew that but he got an attitude and said "this is your first and only chance, if I see you back there again, I'm canceling your memberships".. It was very off putting and not the kind of mentality I wanted to continue to workout with but regardless I carried on and brushed it off. It's just unfortunate that people like that work at the only planet fitness in my town. Love the equipment stuff tho.
Just the staff member who I felt harassed me about a simple situation, and the other guy on his phone behind the desk who seemed to be annoyed when I asked to use the massage chair.
I'd rate the gym 4 of 5 but the staff 1.5/5. It's supposed to be a judgement free zone.

Very clean facility, reasonably priced, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The Wellness Trainer, Dustin Crabbs is very knowledgeable and took into consideration my medical history and current medications when developing an exercise program. He also stressed clearing the program and any supplements I might add with my physician first. I felt very confident with the staff.

I’ve been going to this gym for a couple of years now. It’s a good gym. But in my opinion they have way to many treadmills and bicycles. Not enough benches or smith machines. Most of the time it’s very hard to find a bench open. It’s very easy to see the problem. Every day the bench, smith machine and cables are congested with people. And the treadmill/ bicycle area is wide open with only a couple of people using them. If there was a better gym around I would be there instead of here. Open your eyes planet fitness!

The workers are constantly sitting on the counters eating and texting. However, the gym is fairly nice and has a lot of equipment. I think the black cards are a little overpriced.
EDIT: Black cards are only overpriced at locations like ours because they don't offer 24 hour gym use. For that reason I will never purchase a black card here.
