I went in to check things out… thinking about a membership in about 3 weeks. Mika was awesome, invited me to try the massage machine.

Goodness, the aqua massage was incredible, great way to show your services. Lots of equipment and the bathrooms were clean (this is paramount to me). Seems to rarely be too busy.

I’ll be back. Great no pressure place to check things out.

It's one of the few ones that open 24hrs on the week days, and I love it. It's clean,large and I rarely have to wait for a machine to use.
I have one about 5 mins away but the conducive hours make me travel 30 mins away to this one.
This is now my home gym center.

Love my planet fitness!!
The front desk is very helpful. They know me well and always remembers what tanning bed I use and how long. The gym equipment is always clean, but I see a lot of patrons NOT CLEANING AFTER THEY USE ANYTHING. Grow. Especially the massage beds. It takes 3 minutes max to clean it after using it. I've also noticed a small amount of patrons NOT wearing shoes on the equipment. Free weights, treadmill and any of the other equipment.

Ive been a planet fitness member since they opened. I recall once a person working out in sun glasses. I didn't get it.I realize now they didn't want to show up they forced it the didn't want their pain seen they hid it.they needed it more then they wanted it. I'm a member and my wife became a member on Saturday of Labor Day weekend. As part of the membership she can schedule a consultation with Planet Fitness' personal trainer. I believe his name is Jake. He was extemely helpful. He asked great questions about her goals and if she has any physical snd health issues. After the Q&A he developed a workout plan . He took us to each machine and demonstrated each one then let both my wife and I use the machines. Our goals are to lose weight and get cardio. Jake was very attentive and explained how each machine will help with our goals. Thank you Jake for giving us a plan to follow .

I have only recently startedy my PF journey. I used to come to PF a few years ago and had a bad experience. I had my reservations about coming back. I just remembered how much I loved PF and all it offers it's members. So one day I decided to just go in and see what it would take to start a new membership. I honestly did not think I was going to walk out of there with a membership. I want to give the biggest shot out to Devin at the Olathe location. He was so friendly and immediately attended to me. He actually made me feel like he cared about me as an individual and made me want to come back. He went above and beyond explaining all the benefits with the black card! Been going to this location since it was opened. Gym itself is very well set up, and clean. Couple issues. Very few staff greet you as you walk in. They're on their phones, or sitting on the desks talking to friends or each other. They're nice, but reason I bring up is now there's competition with crunch next door. Their staff acts professional, looks professional, greets and say bye and focus on members. Not to mention they're the same pricing as planet. So from a biz standpoint, I'm just saying that could be a problem for this planet location. Again, staff is nice, as well as the other members, but staffing needs to be more focused on the consumer. Only machine issue, they need to have benches specifically for the Smith machines. There's only 4 machines, and members are CONSTANTLY taking them over to the mirror/free weights. If there's only 4 smiths, there needs to be a bench for them at all times without me having to go find one. That's more of a member problem, but no other gym I've been to has this issue. Idc if you have to bolt em down lol. Other than that, machines are well maintained. Overall, good gym, but with crunch being in competition, planet may need to make some adjustments

This is a review of the Planet Fitness organization, not the specific location. When I called in to their customer service to cancel my teenage son’s membership, I was told that I had to physically go in to the location to cancel. I wasn’t able to get to that gym for a couple of weeks, and the monthly charge hit my account two days prior to me walking in to cancel. While the manager was apologetic, he said that he was not allowed to refund the charge that had just come through per their corporate policy, even though I had called in to cancel prior. The corporate policy needs to change to allow for online or phone cancellation.

Really enjoying the “no judgement” approach. The staff is wonderful at Legends KC. There are always people who seem to ignore the “wipe down the equipment you use”….however, I constantly see the staff going through and wiping down units. Love it at PF as a Black card club member!!! I joined this gym before it was even being done being built. Great prices even just for tanning but my God how long does it take to replace a mirror? Several tanning rooms don't have mirrors and I take a few minutes after tanning because I have to get ready for work afterwards. Little things like this are why I may not stay. It's a mirror not anything expensive, this is really simple stuff that should be automatically replaced, but no, they just disappear and never get replaced. It has literally been months.

Clean gym equipment is well maintained. Expect it can be very frustrating during busy hrs cause patrons spend most of their time texting and listening to music tying up equipments for hours. Some customers have pretty bad BO that will ruin your workout . Some closing associates run the siren at closing continuously from 10pm to run everyone out. If you have hearing aids this is super painful to the ears.

The facility is clean and has lots of options for beginners on up. My issue is with the billing. I have a fitness club through my employer (major retailer) and PF can never get the discount applied correctly. To get any help or to cancel membership you have to go to your club to do it. Very inconvenient if don't go there regularly.

I have been a member off and on for many years. Love the gym and the amenities. Although today I meet the rudest worker . I was using the amenities and I wanted to tan, I checked in and he told me what bed to go to I even repeated the number back to him. Got in the room he had told me, nothing so I go back to the front to let him know the bed wasn't turning on. He then told me I was in the wrong room , I said no I was in the room you told me he gave me this extremely rude look. I then had to go to a different tanning bed that was already on and missed 5 minutes of my session. I understand mistakes happen and maybe he thought he told me the right bed, but he refused to reset the time and acted like I was an inconvenience to him.

I’ve been frequenting PF for a while now off and on and my partner is motivated to go with me. They really enjoy the 30 minute circuit but no employees are monitoring. There have been several occasions where people are just sitting on the machines on their phones or they are hogging just one machine. You are unable to do a true circuit. Even out on the main floor I see several people just sitting around on their phones. It would be nice to actually have someone coming around reminding people. There are also 3 or 4 employees congregating and visiting at the front desk not doing anything when they could be on the floor monitoring these things. It would be great to see these changes as there are a lot of inconsiderate gym goers with main character syndrome. It shouldn’t fall on gym goers to tell other gym goers they are reading signs and following the rules.

My experience in the gym was always okay. The equipment was clean and functional. I did question the logic behind the crowd meter in the app. It's never reflected busy despite parking being consistently troublesome and frequently having to wait for certain machines. Additionally canceling is a nightmare. New members BEWARE, you may be able to sign up online but you cannot cancel online. You will need to cancel in person or send a certified letter by snail mail. Despite enrolling online they will claim they suddenly need a hand written signature to cancel. It's a clear tactic to make it difficult to cancel.

The best Planet Fitness I’ve been too, but not for long. I’ve been to about five Planet Fitnesses and this one has honestly been the best. Lots of lighting, good machines, and friendly staff. Others feel like dark dungeons with outdated machines, but this one is different. However, lately this location has been slacking. Multiple leg machines have been broken for about a month, and this isn’t the first time. Things break and that’s fine, but for how busy this gym gets, not fixing three separate leg machines makes working out impossible. This brings me to my next point, this gym gets BUSY. While this isn’t the fault of the establishment, it really is a major downside when you frequently have to awkwardly stand around for benches, cable machines, and fly machines. I honestly like this gym but with Crunch fitness opening an absolute unit of a gym for the same price in Shawnee, and soon opening one across the street from this location, I’m not sure how much longer I plan on staying. Furthermore, this gym’s hours are just not good enough. Closing at 7pm on the weekend is consistently an issue for me personally, and even 10pm on the weekdays is sometimes a stretch. With that being said, I could overlook the bad hours if this gym can improve its repair times, as well as be less crowded. Hopefully other gyms opening will make this one better by reducing the crowds, but until then I’m switching.

I really like the cardio machines! There are so many different types and I’m looking forward to using each one. I also love that PF is spacious! Lastly, I appreciate the staff. The location is great I just wish there were more parking spots for this location. It’s a busy parking lot. I’ve noticed that when a machine is broken it seems to take a long time for them to fix/ replace the machine. Lastly, the biggest complaint for me would be the weekend hours! Thanks to Planet Fitness, medication, and a few reasonable changes to my diet, my A1C went from 8.5 to 5.7 in six months. I go there 4 or 5 times a week, and I spend a LOT of time on cardio machines. I've lost about 30 lbs, my lung capacity is much better, and my resting heart rate is lower now.

This location probably needs more squat racks. However with my scoliosis, I prefer to stick to weight machines to reduce the risk of injury. And there's usually a machine free when I need it, even when the place is packed.

Five stars because you can't beat what you get for the price. PF has played an integral part in helping me get into shape and improve my health. The facilities are always clean and there's ample parking.
