While I have been a member for over 5 years, I fractured my knee. My wife and went in today to cancel my membership, and they said they had to charge me for the following month, though it is clear to anyone upon visual inspection that I am medically not able to exercise.

Went in for a day pass because of my schedule I can only go and work out past 10, so having a gym that is 24 hours works the best. Met some awesome workers, Christian I believe was his name he gave me a tour of the place, and he had really good service. I loved the place and will definitely be making a making a membership with them. People like Christian make me want to come to the gym, he was welcoming, and didn’t make me feel pressured into joining PF unlike other services like genesis. I will be coming back !!

Okay, first of all, this Planet Fitness has six Smith Machines instead of the usual four you'll find at any other Planet Fitness gym. This fact alone makes this gym astronomically better than the others.

Secondly, they are getting more equipment (A hack squat, for instance) that you won't find at other Planet Fitness gyms. On that note, yeah, sometimes equipment breaks down and needs to be repaired. That is true for ANY gym. Some of the equipment, like the Smith Machines, get repaired within a day here. Some others might take more time depending on the complexity of the repair.

Thirdly, the staff is literally some of the friendliest and most welcoming of people you will ever meet if you actually bother acknowledging their presence and talking to them. Whatever questions you have regarding your membership, they can answer it.

Fourthly, the facility is consistently clean and never smells bad. If you look hard enough you might find an ounce of dust, but who actually cares? There is no mold or anything like that.

I've been a member since they opened this location. (2017 I believe) in the last 2-3 years this place has gone seriously downhill. The place is filthy. Competent site management is nonexistent, and equipment and the facility has been in a state of disrepair for 2-3 months at a time. There was a remodel not long ago and the club is in worse shape than before the "remodel". Staff doesn't take pride in the club, or their employment, and are often 3 or 4 deep at the front desk, playing on their phones, or being loud and throwing a football halfway across the club. There is black mold growing out of the drinking fountain drain, telling me that these haven't been wiped down in a LONG time. In the men's bathroom the stall door has been missing for probably six months and has been replaced by a "temp" curtain. At one time this location was great! The management took pride in the facility and kept it clean. Unfortunately, these managers have moved on, and the current staff and management treat this as a social event with one another.

I've been a member at the Maize rd location for over 2 years. When equipment breaks it doesn't get fixed for months. There is mold growing in the water fountains. The locker room bathrooms are missing doors. I understand you only pay your staff $13 an hour but they should be more professional. The last couple of months the 4pm to 6pm staff have been playing football around the front desk area, today they were recreating the "lift" from dirty dancing.
It's December 2024, I've asked about the parking lot lights being turned on before 8 pm, NO RESPONSE. As a woman this is a safety issue that is being ignored. The parking lot is dark at 6pm.
Basically....you barely get what you pay for at this location.

"Nice facility with a lot to offer, but I was disappointed that there's no option to pay with cash. I wanted to sign up for a Black Card membership, but was told Plastic card was the only option. Cash is king, after all! Be burnt before by attaching plastic,just like some of the other ratings for this location. This is a warning for new people. In my case, I’ve done business with the company for years. I switched to a black card account and it was setup to come out of my bank every month. However, it continued to be taken out of my credit card from the old membership. Recently, that card was renewed and planet fitness charged me the regular membership fee plus $10 late fee for every month the card did not work. The amount totaled approximately $200.00 before I caught the mistake. I told the manager to cancel the membership. She told me they would not cancel and I would be charged the membership fee every month until the bill is paid. I spoke with a staff member, they said it is very common for customers to think their accounts are canceled only to find out they have racked up huge debts.

My recommendation is not to do business with planet fitness. They are not looking out for the best interest of the customer. Get a cheap treadmill and dumbbells.

Equipment is louder than whatever I listen to with my earbuds. Elipticals have loud clicking sounds and they are super wobbly. Treadmills are also loud. Not sure how often equipment is upgraded or calibrated. Express 30 minute workout equipment has been broken and owner doesn't care to fix because members are still paying membership fees. 😳 Please stop sending automated responses and provide and update of when equipment will be upgraded.

I visit numerous Planet Fitness facilities across the country and this has to be one of my favorite locations. The equipment was well maintained and clean. The restroom and showers were well maintained and clean. They even provided shower gel and shampoo in the showers. That's the first time I've seen that at one of the locations. I have never been in a more unprofessional environment than this gym. Brock a long time employee of PF harassed me and my friend for about 2 hours. He got up in my friends face screaming and cursing him out. He called me a jackass and threatened to revoke my membership and talked about how he wish he could get physical. We both have videos of him doing this. Mind you we didn't do anything and even if we did screaming at us and calling us terrible things isnt an appropriate response even from a manager let alone the bottom of the chain. Even aside from tonight you can often find brock talking about how he dislikes trans and gay people and women. How he finds them disgusting and wrong. I am disgusted at this behavior and will likely be going to a different planet fitness or revoking my membership entirely. My night and my workout was ruined.

Be sure to clean the equipment before using, employees don't clean it is up to the members. Set a meeting with a trainer and showed waited 10 minutes to be told the trainer no longer worked there and hadn't for two weeks. There would be a trainer as soon as they found a new one even though this was part of the benefits package. The hydrotherapy beds were only cleaned by members and not all members clean the equipment so just beware. Staff do not pay attention and are on their phones instead of tending to needs on the gym floor.

This place reminds me of my father in law and the rude lady that told us to get out of her way while I was trying to teach him how to exercise. (Alzheimer's caused him to forget between sets) A few years after his passing, I am editing to note that the another young lady spends a lot of time on the leg press and leg extension like this is her personal section of the gym. I don't know why it was a problem for us to do two sets together yet someone else can park on two machines for the evening without a word being said. Initially I was a member of another gym but joined PF as well as it was closer. This was supposed to be temporary and I was going to cancel once all the Covid stuff was over. When it came time to cancel one of my memberships I actually stayed at PF because even though it took a while to get over the purple and yellow decor, and they don't have a pool or classes I stayed because I really like the staff there. The management have all changed but the new management are just as good as the previous. They address you by name and are always willing to help. The other thing I notice is that they are ALWAYS cleaning. An inexpensive, clean, well run and well equipped gym is all anybody could ask for. If it just wasn't so purple though.

How about you finally find a solution with the TVs along the wall? This has been an issue for a very long time. Seems every time it snows or rains, the TVs go out and then takes forever to fix it. I rarely ever have to leave a low review. But I despise this place. It’s so extremely de-motivating and lifeless in there. The equipment is great but the lighting is terrible and the staff in general look like they hate their job, often not at the desk, they aren’t friendly and most aren’t even in shape. I got a gym membership at Genesis nearby for only $20 more per month well worth it and kept this one to continue tanning but even just coming here to tan is exhausting trying to get past the ridiculous policies on eye wear and schedule and interacting with the depressing mood of the staff every morning is just… depressing. Can’t do it anymore.
