I take private sessions with the owner, Colleen. I’ve always been interested in the reasons my doctors recommended to do yoga for my autoimmune illnesses. There are many yoga studios, and instructors in this area, however what set Colleen aside from anybody I have taken lessons with is that Colleen’s passion to learn, amend, and for overall wellbeing of her students. It is astounding how knowledgeable Colleen is, and create something what I needed to focus to improve my health, and so fortunate that when your instructor is so experienced and full of knowledges, you have nothing else, but physically and mentally I am improving my everyday life. I believe that I was supposed to cross path with Colleen, and I hope one day, I can give her back too.

I was very fortunate to have found Seeking Solace and to have attended the restorative yoga classes. If you are stressed, if you work in a sedentary job, if you suffer from anxiety, I highly recommend attending a restorative yoga class at Seeking Solace with Colleen. I have recommended this class to all of my friends because it has helped my stress level so much. I know it will help you, too!

Colleen hosted myself and my friends and family for part of my bachelorette weekend. We did the restorative yoga class and my expectations were greatly exceeded. Colleen was very welcoming and made us all feel comfortable and relaxed. The process to book was very easy and her communication was great as well. We will definitely be back!

I must say that, after two private yoga lessons with Colleen, my mind and fitness trajectories have both changed for the better. She’s incredibly in tune with each individual client and has literally changed my mindset and fitness goals for the better.

I’d never tried yoga before, and I’m so glad that I gave it a chance and am lucky enough to have Colleen as my teacher. The studio is very relaxing and serene, and Colleen’s 100% committed to helping her students improve their lives. I feel blessed every day to have given yoga a chance and have Colleen as my teacher. What she delves into is a holistic understanding of each student and focuses on their specific path toward being the best for themselves and others.

Colleen is an excellent instructor! I have attended both in-person and by Zoom. The classes are a gentle mix of yoga and pilates, which is good for me as a 72 year old in reasonably good shape. Colleen is very thorough in instructing and uses lots of imagery ("imagine your spine is a string of pearls") which helps foster the learning to know one's body. In the studio she is very attentive to each student and watches to assist poses. The space is warm, clean, visually appealing, and orderly.

The classes I attend are restorative, I would say, where some props are used. This is not the tpe of class where more time is spent arranging than actually engaging your body..
She also instructs in how to modify a pose or movement and givers space to do that depending on your needs. What has been helpful for me personally is stretching of muscle groups, and the attention paid to moving hip and shoulder joints which are often problem areas for seniors. Yesterday's session involved legs and hips--"drawing circles on the ceiling", doing bridges, and more than I can't recall right now. We also take time to shake out muscles after movement. Within 12 hours I had some relief of pain, which says a lot about the benefits of this work.

This place is a true gem. The class I took was exactly what I needed to open up my posture and be more mindful of tendencies when using everyday devices like the laptop and phone. Colleen dropped some real wisdom nuggets about fascia overtime. Highly recommend!

This is the studio to be at if you’re looking to feel completely refreshed, energized, and to let go of anything holding you back. Colleen has the most healing energy and voice that will instantly calm you no matter the state you show up in. You can tell immediately that her immense empathy is already at work pinpointing your needs and shaping your experience to truly benefit you throughout your visit. Colleen's extensive yoga training, enthusiasm, and genuine caring and compassion all contribute to an incredible yoga experience. She focuses on the needs of clients and is always thinking of how to include movements/poses tailored to a client's areas of concern. Colleen incorporates the knowledge she's gained throughout her years of training as a key element in her teaching, resulting in a comprehensive and invaluable yoga experience. I initially used a Groupon and Colleen was incredibly helpful throughout the Groupon redemption process.

I have been taking yoga classes for almost 30 years. This week, I attended the best yoga class I've ever experienced - the Restorative /Deep Stress Relief class led by Colleen Boveri. It was like a whole spa day condensed into 75 minutes! Colleen exudes wonderful, calming energy and has such a soothing voice. Colleen provides clear guidance and assistance on the poses and uses spot on imagery to guide the class members into a meditative state of mind and body. I arrived feeling harried and distracted, and left the session feeling calm and centered! I highly recommend this studio! I will be back. :-)

Seeking Solace is the best yoga studio I have found in Kansas City, or maybe anywhere, actually. The main instructor, Colleen, is also its owner and founder. She is remarkable, and her teaching has benefitted me tremendously. I am sleeping better and have more energy, strength, and flexibility. When I arrived, my yoga experience was quite basic. I had very little flexibility. She is a patient teacher, and she guided me and the other students through the challenges of certain postures. My practice improved greatly thanks to her. She is very observant, and also extremely intuitive. She offers modified poses for newbies like me, or advanced variations, for those who have a stronger practice.

The practice has a spiritual side, too, and Colleen is an excellent guide here, also. While calling the poses by their Sanskrit names, she offers a focus on the breath, encouraging students to get out of their heads when they practice. Classes end on the chant of Om (peace), and in poses, sometimes mantras are given, such as “I am peace.” Another favorite of mine is the So Hum meditation. I love the spiritual side, and I feel that students who don’t get this are really missing something key.

The setting at Seeking Solace is so wonderful, too, and the first thing you notice when entering the studio is what a special place it is. People have posted photos, but they don’t do justice to the place. It is at once grounding and energizing, clean and harmonious. You feel good when you enter, and it also feels like a sacred space, a safe haven away from the hustle and bustle of the world. The room offers a view of a peaceful rock garden where there are flowers, and when I was there, in the Fall, a couple of pumpkins.

Colleen’s knowledge extends also to nutrition and anatomy. During class, as poses are being done, she offers information about the way the joints, muscles, and ligaments all come together. She also points out when doing certain poses can help in our daily lives, and can even help people to avoid surgeries later.

In contrast, I had previously practiced at studios with rooms heated to 95 degrees, where it was all about how much you can sweat and how to show off your moves. Here, it’s quite the opposite. Seeking Solace is about finding lasting benefit, with a top-notch teacher, in a friendly group of yogis. I highly recommend Seeking Solace.

When I decided to give Yoga a try I knew I wanted small classes, individual attention and a caring and compassionate instructor. I found all of that and more in Colleen's class. One of the first things she said that really resonated with me is that everyone is different and poses can be modified to work with any body type. She encourages you to give all poses a try but never makes you feel inadequate if you can't get it. She really focuses on breathing techniques which helps in all areas of my life. The class is wonderful starting with the warm up stretches to the restful and meditative end. The atmosphere is lovely and serene. This is everything I was looking for and my only regret is that I didn't start sooner.

Seeking Solace is a unique yoga experience. This is largely due to Colleen...a master teacher and star personality. You will immediately feel welcomed and at-ease. Colleen's expertise is phenomenal. She is extremely knowledgeable in the practical application of anatomy, physiology, energy healing...matters related to mind-body-spirit and shares this generously. She communicates with wisdom and humor. The studio is is indeed a special place of solace and rejuvenation.

Colleen is the best teacher!! I have learned so much from her over the years. She teaches you at your level and offers small adjustments and imagery that bring the pose to an aha moment. She has the knack of teaching multiple levels in one class. My friend who is much more advanced than me gets a great workout and so do I but at my level. Other yoga classes pale compared to Colleens class.

Best yoga studio. Colleen is an excellent yoga instructor. She has years of experience and you'll receive personal instruction in the group classes. Her classes are both energizing and relaxing. Her studio is beautiful and peaceful. She offers many extras like bolsters, blankets, eye bean bags, sand bags, elastic bands and much more. It is an enriching experience, one that is unique and quite different than any other yoga class I have taken in Kansas City. It is simply the best and the cost is low and affordable. You won't be disappointed and I look forward to many years of yoga with Colleen. Thank you Colleen for sharing your talents!

Colleen is a wonderful yoga instructor and a caring individual. She truly wants you to challenge yourself without causing any pain or any injuries. I am particularly impressed with her knowledge of the human body and the way she shares what each pose is doing for the body. She takes time to work with each individual to see that the pose is correct. Her new studio is delightful. It is a peaceful place to practice yoga and the student feels very much at peace when leaving a class.

The new studio is very inviting and peaceful. Colleen Boveri provides personalized instruction and can tailor a yoga practice to fit your needs and skill level. My practice has increased my flexibility, improved my breathing, and added muscle tone. For anyone who works at the computer most of the day, yoga can offset the impact of repetitive tasks and can help you better manage stress. I highly recommend Colleen and her studio to beginners, she provides a safe and fun yoga experience!
