Our gmail account is under my wife's name - but this review is written by David Welch, member since Aug 2025. I use this gym for convenience purposes as it is one mile from my work office. I come here almost everyday for a weight workout. I've been a runner for the past 23 years and, at 61 years of age, I decided to switch to weights as my bone density decreases with age. Bottom line - in the 3.5 months I've been going to this gym I have seen a dramatic transformation in my mind, my energy and my body. The bonus to all of this is the friendly staff who greet you by name, always a friendly smile, and sometimes even great conversation. It is the cleanest gym I have ever been associated with and the staff takes great pride in this. For me, this place has become a gym family.

Hands down best gym in KC. The fact that it's 24/7 makes it even better. Been a member here for awhile now and I have nothing but good things to say about this gym. Gym is always clean, entrance/exit, locker room and bathroom are pristine. They keep it clean even during the horrible salts from the snow. Employees are friendly and helpful. It's smaller than your average gyms, but its got all the machines that you need to get a full body session in. Thieves. Was a loyal member who used the gym and left it better than found every day before work. After having credit cards stolen, and not using the gym for months, they have decided that they want the money for the months not used~and~not paid for. Terrible experience for a loyal customer. Will not be going back.

Even after being an understanding customer when their building was closed due to damage. (AND STILL CHARGED THE WHOLE MEMBERSHIP FEE)

In the last month I have made it a big priority to workout as many times a week as I can fit it. I am starting to see physical changes and my mental health is improving. I absolutely could not do it if it wasn’t for Workout Anytime East Lenexa. Cleanest gym I have ever walked into!!! Hidden fine print in the contract they shove in your face says YOU are responsible for everything, if you move away they send a sleezy collection agency after you, and require you to pay for time you never spent in the same state, much less their terrible gym (its also small with limited selection of equipment). I only joined bc I work nights and didn't want to work out with a ton of other people during the day, instead I got harassed in a MUCH WORSE WAY.

Been to a lot of gyms over the years and this one has become my favorite. It’s affordable, good equipment that’s always in working condition or fixed extremely quickly, never too packed, awesome extra perks, and really nice staff. It’s one of the few gyms I could find that was open 24/7 that also felt really comfortable to go to. The people I’ve spoken to and met during workouts there have always been incredibly kind as well.

I switched from Lifetime in Lenexa to this gym. I also tried Genesis prior to Lifetime and went to Flex/OGKC a few times before that. Overall a great gym and really clean.

I joined this gym after I had surgery on my right arm. The whole experience in calling and discussing my needs was flawless. The manager was the person I spoke with. She was extremely informative and so very nice. This gym is clean, and there is a wide variety of equipment for the size of this gym. I can say that i will for sure use this gym to get away from the hustle and bustle of the larger gyms I hold a membership to. The bathrooms are cleaner than even my own house. I love it when I don't feel dirty when leaving a public bathroom. There is always plenty of parking. It is handicap accessible and well-lit after dark. Don't everyone join at once!

As someone who doesn't go to the gym a lot, I started my membership about 8 months ago. I tried a few other places once or twice and just didn't feel comfortable. I feel so comfortable here and don't feel judged. Staff knows me by name even though I'm not a regular and genuinely cares about health. It's worth the price since I can work out after work or early in the morning when I have energy. The Styku machine showed me more info about my body than the doctors could and I feel confident about my health. Plus the hydromassagers help with my lower back issues.

Disappointed. Owner said they would not extend my cancellation date out 3 days to fill the gap between when my membership ends and when I’m moving. Said I would just need to pay $10 a day. More of an inconvenience to me than it is to them and poor customer service.

Beyond that, Susan is kind and the gym is fine for basic workouts that do not require much space.

EDIT: Shortly after posting this, the place shut down with zero notice. I had prepaid for a full year membership and they ghosted me, so I never got my money back. I've heard they reopened but I will steer clear of this place moving forward!

I've been a member here for a year and I've been impressed with the affordability and customer service. I recently had a minor issue with my membership fee so I contacted a manager. She was kind and professional and immediately offered a solution that worked for both of us. I plan to stay a member here as long as I live in the area. Thank you!

My husband and I are new to the gym. But I can say, from the moment I walked in I was comfortable being there. Other gyms I always felt insecure being around intense work out members. I know its just in my head but i got discouraged immediately. But at Workout Anytime I loved seeing people of all shapes and sizes and even some older people in there just doing their thing; just working out to be healthy. And Ms Susan, I can't say enough good things about her. She always comes in and greets everyone and knows our name. That's huge for me. She takes time to educate you on being healthy and explains the equipment and what might work best for you. Always ready to help. I'm just so impressed with everything. We signed up for this gym about a week after they opened because we sort of outgrew the gym at our apartments, and we are so glad we did!! The facility is always clean, there’s a wide variety of machines to use and the owners are some of the nicest people we’ve ever met. They always greet us when we come in and we really enjoy our time spent at this gym! The price is super affordable and we signed up for the higher tier membership so we could use the hydro massage chairs, and they are worth every extra penny. Especially on back and biceps day! We are so satisfied with this gym and we would recommend it to people who have been lifting for years as well as someone brand new to lifting; the owners are really good about helping people out when they need it!

I would not recommend this gym- especially if you are looking for a short term commitment. I wanted to use this gym for three months that I was home from college and it was fine while I went there. I chose this gym because it looked like it would be easy enough to make a 3 month membership work and it was close to my house. However, when I tried to cancel at the end of three months, rather than cancelling me, the company "froze" my account without my permission. This means that without alerting me at all, I began getting billed again in May of 2018 and have been billed ever since. I just now noticed this charge and am now out almost $300 because of a membership that I had CANCELLED that was reopened without my consent or even an alert. I am super unhappy with this. I was then told by the financial company in charge of this gym that I had to have in writing that the account was cancelled - but I cancelled over the phone in 2017- so of course I don't have any documentation. I have tried multiple times to figure out how to get a refund but no one on the gym's end nor the financial company's end seems to know what to do with this situation. I'm shocked that they don't see it all the time.

If you choose to go to this gym be VERY explicit when you cancel your membership and make sure you are having it CANCELLED not "frozen." Furthermore, know that you need written documentation of such interaction in order to ensure you are not charged further.

Like anyplace, good and bad things. Good deal but I HATE-HATE-HATE the blaring beeping clock they use for their class that 3-counts every 30/60 seconds for a half hour, can hear it LOUDLY over my ear buds. Boss was indifferent to a separate complaint I had few months back, gave me a "well, maybe some people may like it the way it is" She dismissed the complaint in front of her with a hypothetical one. Lesson learned about the management style, which is why I haven't mentioned the timer. Only reason I continue is the value, has what I need at a good price, I just have to avoid going during the class times, my bad on that today (sitting in my car waiting for it to finish as I write this.) If you’re looking for something that fits in your budget, beware — there are hidden fees and extra charges around every corner. The local gym says their hands are tied as everything is run by corporate, so just know you’ll be stuck paying 2-3 times as much as you’re expecting. The staff is hit or miss - some were very friendly while others were not so much. The facility and equipment are fine, pretty standard. 24 hour access is definitely a plus. Overall, I want to love it, but I can’t get on board with places that aren’t up front with financial commitments.

Gym smells awful at night (just go in after 9-10pm any night of the week, the later you go in the worse it seems to smell) and 3/4 of the TVs have been tuned to Faux News for over a year. If the remotes are indeed "around the club," as the owner insists, the staff and I have yet to find them. I've asked every staff member I've seen in the club and not one person has been able to locate a remote other than the one kept behind the desk and even then, they couldn't figure out how to make the remote actually work.

You get what you pay for, if you want a $15/mo gym, that's exactly what you'll get here: maybe less but certainly nothing more.

Firstly, I am am frequent traveler. I happened to find this gym by google searching "gyms near me" and fortunately this was the first choice that came up (I'm very glad). I spoken with the very friendly staff and gotten setup with the guest weekly rate. This gym has everything I need and I really love the staff who helped made my Lenexa trip a very welcome and pleasant trip. I would definitely keep this gym as my "home away from home" gym!!!! I was SO nervous about starting a new fitness routine, especially when I knew I was finally going to be held accountable for my actions (or lack of actions). This is a move I definitely do not regret making. Beth and her team were fabulous at introducing me to the way they do things in their 6 week challenge. My eating habits, workout consistency, and enthusiasm for life are have all improved beyond any level I would have probably accomplished alone. This gym is GREAT! Beth and Trevor are such a killer team! I did the 6 week challenge, lost 25 pounds and a total of 19 inches overall. Amy the accountability coach kept me on track. Trevor kicked my butt in every workout. This gym has any and everything you need for such a low price. They truly know almost every single member by name and their story. I really like this place. It is always clean, the staff is always nice, it is never overly busy where you can't get on a machine, equipment is top quality and never out of order, they will change the TV channel with a smile if you ask, the trainers are there to help you and also get to know you as a member, I feel safe whenever I am in the gym, be that 1AM, 6AM, or 3PM, there is a very wide variety of members, for a smaller gym, they have a nice clean hydro chair message & stand up tanning (a little extra $ - if that is what you want - not my cup of tea), the owner is active in the gym, works there, cleans, picks up trash and know her members. So all in all, it is a great gym and could not be happier with my membership.

Okay I am going to prep this by saying i work in sales and I understand what they are trying to do but this story needs to be put there. They promote this six week body changing challenge and it sounds too good to be true. Let me start by saying that it isn't free they advertise it is free no obligation and such both on their website and on social media. Well it isn't first before you evem weigh in or meet with who you are going to be working with they want a five hundred dollar deposit. Let me explain I work in sales they cam make all the excuses they want that people don't do it they dont show up or whatever they want want to say but the truth is if it was a refundable after you completed it then well they would take a post dated check seven weeks after start. Why you might ask because it is a refundable deposit they shouldn't be requiring it if it is free. Do not go here run them out of business they need to be closed down and maybe even reported to the better business bureau. Sorry folks but dont go here or listen to the reviews that all the trainers have put on there they are false.

Would definitely recommend, very affordable! Staff is very nice and helpful! I had to go through the process of cancelling membership due to moving out of the area, I gave 30 day notice as per agreement and was slightly off by a day and was going to be stuck paying an extra month. Spoke with the owner directly about my situation and she was patient and worked with me to help figure out the best solution.

I'm not sure if the staff is incompetent, or if they just use a crappy 3rd party software. My wife cancelled our membership months ago and we've had to call each month to get a refund and a confirmation "that we won't be billed again". This has happened at least twice. The gym is alright, but account management is poor.

Another Gym, Another Tough Time Cancelling. I went through the website with minimal help cancelling, sent a contact form requests that was not documented on my account, called and asked to call a 888 number, called 888 number and told to go to website, and nothing on website so called 888 number again to cancel. I had to force my way through using a bunch of 0s to get to an operator. Then they told me they had no record of my original request and would be to put a 30-day notice on my account, guaranteeing them another month's fee. Sheesh, they told me cancellation was easy when I signed up.

Update: reduced to 1 star. After the hassle of cancelling my membership, they continued to charge me. Cannot recommend against them enough. Find ANY other gym.
Lifetime ended up being cheaper, and had no hidden fees or shady contracts.

I really wanted to love this gym, but it's consistently overcrowded. There is limited space to move about, and the tiny space is more than half-filled with cardio machines (though, if you're just here for cardio, there are plenty of open machines).
With all the sign up fees and "rate guarantee" charges, the first three months here have cost as much as a luxury gym, but with three times the crowd, tiny locker rooms, and having to plan way more time to work out just because you have to wait so long to squat or bench.

There are no employees after 5, and occasionally the card reader won't work, leading to awkward nights of standing outside the store front frenetically trying to get in to your own gym.

The crowd size and gym being smaller than my apartment makes me really suspicious of the reviews left here.

If you can work out between midnight and 5am, you may love this gym. Otherwise, until they move to a larger location, keep looking.

I absolutely love this gym! I can workout anytime I want in this very clean very safe place. Love the different brand new machines. You have to try the water massage bed it is a great way to end your workout. All the employees I've ever spoken with are helpful and friendly without being a stereotypical condescending "meat head" like I've met in other gyms. Fantastic gym at a fantastic price.

I have been weight training for over 10 years and have trained at gyms all over the US. This gym is great, especially for the price. I work crazy hours and the 24/7 access is very convenient. The gym itself is on the smaller side, but it has everything you need to train and get a great workout in. The staff is always friendly and the facility is always clean. They also keep the facility updated with new equipment to help customers learn new ways of training. Overall I am very happy with my membership at WOAT.

I have been a member since May 2016 and the people there are supportive, kind, caring and knowledgeable about fitness. I love the atmosphere, convenient location and the equipment. It's small and I like that. Makes it a bit more personable. I haven't met anyone there that doesn't want to be there and doesn't enjoy a good workout. Keep up the good work guys!

Really great, affordable gym. I've been a member here since October 2016. I am very pleased with the cleanliness, equipment selection, and professionalism of the staff. It's also the best value around town, either doing M2M or yearly plans. I guess my only small gripe is the men's locker/bathroom can get cramped quickly. But that usually only happens during peak hours. Otherwise, this is a really great gym.

Having been a member at several other gyms, Workout Anytime, my gym home, has been by far the best gym I've attended. The staff are all very helpful and kind, always giving their support. The staff even goes to learn the members' names, and greet them! Besides how amazing the staff is, this gym is impeccably clean and all the equipment is very well maintained. Anyone looking for a new gym has found a gold mine in Workout Anytime Lenexa!

Literally the best gym in which I have had the pleasure of membering. The equipment is brand new and calibrated extremely well. The staff are like a family to eachother and anyone who walks in the door. I have personally called upon a staff member or two with personal troubles and they are right there beside you. Could not ask for a safer or better gym to be apart of. Also, never really that busy. If you don't believe me, check them out! Workout anytime is the safest and most outgoing gym around.

Called the cops on me for sitting in my Van. I am a member from another Workout Anytime! The most humiliating experience I have ever endured. Told a lie to the police and they responded in force with police cars surrounding my van. Lights flashing like I had done something wrong. Did you know according to the manager sitting in your own vehicle is suspicious? Gave me the excuse that she was looking out for her members. Did not get a public apology from the manager. Very prudish people.

This is simply the best gym I've been to -- extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff (Beth rocks), clean and well lit, all the equipment you need and then some, extra perks like hydro-massage and 3-D body imaging, not to mention they are getting in some even newer equipment soon. And it is 24/7 access. I was simply floored that it is only $15/mo for the basic membership or $25/mo for the 'extra perks' deal. WELL WORTH IT! I LOVE THIS PLACE!

First time officially joining a gym and I could not be happier. The staff is very friendly, I continuously ask them how to use equipment I have never used before and make me feel confident and motivated when explaining how to use them. They have wifi, it's kept clean, tanning beds, a massage bed, and overall just a great great place to go workout at. There was a time when the soap dispenser was broken at the showers and in the mean time someone had put a small soap tube in the shower in its stead, those sorts of thoughtful things I believe make a difference and the feeling management there really cares.
