LDF has been a wonderful dance home for my daughter and her two cousins. It offers something for every level of skull and commitment, from recreation to competition. Fees are very reasonable. Instructors are friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. They really care about my child.

Scheduled 2 weeks, and was really excited about it, everyone seems very nice. However, this was the only place my daughter went all week and ended up with hand, foot and mouth disease, symptoms started Saturday, no one else near us has had it, so I guess maybe mats might need to be cleaned more often or more thoroughly. Being a young child she isn't as disciplined as an adult with cleaning and keeping hands away from her face, but she was in kindergarten all year and didn't get sick there all year. So it seems more environment-related. Called and spoke about a refund for the second week, was recommended to email to make the request. Emailed and got no response. Sent a second email and called again today (2 days later) with no new information available yet whether a refund or even partial refund might be possible. I could understand no refund if we just chose a different camp last minute or decided on a last minute vacation, but when she's sick and probably was exposed during the camp, seems like a refund isn't an unreasonable request and seems like it shouldn't take days and multiple calls and emails to resolve. Most camps we sign up for require registration and payment months in advance, so we can't just sign up for another camp either. Hope everyone else has a better experience, seems like most do.

Teaching methodology was was inappropriate for young children. The Tumble Tots class felt very female centric in the structure of the class, rather than engaging for all the children. The instructor spent time on one child while they expected the rest of the children had sit very still in place for an extended period of time which is not developmentally appropriate for 2-3 years old children. The bulk of the class was turn taking while a 10 year old spotted the younger children. Out of a 30 minute class the children only actually were expected to move 10-12 minutes each otherwise they were to sit like a college lecture. There was no game playing to engage children in understanding the classroom rules either, the children were simply expected to understand based on conversations with parents that took
place outside class. There was little cooperative or group happening. I would not recommend this class for young active children.

I just left the spring recital. I was so sad to see so many of the boys on the end of the row in the routines wearing street clothes while the girls dressed beautifully in matching outfits. It looked like a little brother hopped on stage to dance with his sisters dance group. One boy had to dance to a song called, "You can tell she's a princess." The entire song is about being a princess. This is in a kids tumble class. It appears until you're a teen, you are NOT a part of this dance company. Don't get me wrong, they did a beautiful job showcasing the older boys in routines and they even stole the show at the end. But, make no mistake- the younger boys looked ridiculous for their performances. Do better. Or don't allow boys until you're ready to do better.

Wonderful place my daughter is 2 yrs old this is her first dance class. She has had a wonderful time and learned so much from her teacher Lindsey. I would tell any one looking for a great dance class for there little one to try this place out you will not regret it. The teachers and everyone is so great here! Such a clean and structured place also.

The teachers are good. Especially Alex for the hip hop classes. Kids love him. It's the administration itself. I can't keep up. I got 16 emails in April alone. They email you about ALL THE CLASSES. I should only get information on classes that pertain to me. Not have to dig through it all and search every single time if I need to double check a date or something. Some of the names are so similar too, when classes start I'm always confused and have to look up which one my kid is in. It's just too easy to miss something and I feel like a bit lazy on their part. Alex is my main reason for staying at this point but I think I'll have to reconsider. Especially since one of the classes is right after school lets out. It's impossible to get my kid, get her dressed, and get across town without being a few minutes late.

My husband and it ordered our daughter a jacket last year and we still haven’t gonna it yet! The owner has her parents she like to take to and speak to they are not organized and you have girls that’s on higher levels that can’t even do anything and all I have to say is my daughter will never go there again!!

As far as the dance instruction and options this place is great, they offer everything from ballet to hip hop, and the classes are fun for the kids, and they offer a wide range of age groups and talent. This may be the only dance studio in Lexington that offers the level of hip hop and lyrical dance that is competitive. Competition dance teams are available for kids that want to pursue this, but it can get pretty expensive with costumes, hotels, fees, etc so be aware of that.

This place is wonderful. The owner and dance instructors are so great with the kids. This is our second year here. The parents are all supportive and cheer on all the students. The staff really care about the children having a positive experience here. The recitals are always so adorable! We Love it here!!
