The workers at planet Fitness are very very nice people and they treat you with the utmost respect. The massage chair and the water massage chair are just the best thing ever. The gym, tanning salon, and restroom were all noticeably unclean, and the overall atmosphere felt oppressive. Despite my initial phone cancellation, which was subsequently denied, I returned to cancel in person. However, the staff’s communication skills were inadequate, and the manager, Leslie, displayed a lack of respect for my concerns.
The staff’s claim of being the best and cleanest facility is contradicted by the unpleasant experience I had. I intend to discuss this matter with my staff to address their poor communication and disregard for customer feedback as Leslie claims she will be doing.
I just want my money back

I like the price for what you get, however, staff need to be trained on customer service. If you have a question they’re snooty and rude with their tone...they also will sit behind the desk and stare at people working out and if someone forgets to wipe a machine down they act like it’s the end of the world to wipe it when you’re literally staff…staff need to wipe down more, not responsibility of PAYING customers… they need to retrain and not just hire “anyone” making it a too clicky feeling. What I’m trying to avoid when it comes to a gym.

I will say the young man that usually opens during the week at 4am is very nice and always greets and has a genuine smile when you come in and leave. Day staff needs improvement. I’m excited to transfer to the frederica location. I’m hoping for a better experience.

I love this gym. This gym stands out as the best in Owensboro in my opinion. As soon as you walk in you can smell that the gym is cleaned and maintained. I was given a walk through from their trainer, he was extremely helpful in showing me where everything was and how I can set my membership up.

As far as the facility and the workers, they were great!!! I loved the showers but the owner was very rude!!! This specific location is not trucker friendly at all. We pay for our memberships just like other customers. But apparently it’s an issue if we don’t drive 4 wheel vehicles. I was no where near in the way. Just pathetic!!!! Then proceeded to blow her horn until I left the premises. Somebody needs to get her together asap

the older female workers are always so rude and judgmental for no reason. i go in and smile and say please and thank you and they just look at me with a rude look. i was sitting in the chair up front and she continued to look over her shoulder and me and used a paper to cover her mouth as she was whispering to the other worker and then they’d both look at me. canceling my membership. iron jungle is better anyway.

Talk about gymtimidation!! I have severe anxiety and when I went there waiting for a friend that was going to assist me with getting a membership. One of the staff just completely turned me off to the idea of getting a membership all together! My friend is a professional and brings a lot of money to the company by encouraging people to sign up for a membership. You would think a company would want to thrive and have that extra business coming in. Anywho I’m glad I got to see the true representation of planet fitness from the start so I’m not wasting my money.

It's nice, clean, and pretty friendly. I bring earbuds and listen to my own music, so the music over the speakers in the gym is a little too loud for my taste, and I HATE how loud the music is in the locker area, makes it hard to cool down and relax. But it's not enough of an issue that it would keep me from coming back. I don't like that I have to dig through my gym bag and show them my glasses before I can use the tanning or red light booths. I'm an adult, please trust me with my own eye care. I'll wear it, but it's a pain to try to juggle everything at the counter just so I can prove that I have glasses. Yes, I should take them out before I go in, but I forget every time. Can't help it!

As far as planet fitness gyms go, this one sets the precedent for what all planet fitness gyms should be modeled after. I’m not local to Owensboro but after a friend and I decided to check out this location we were amazed by the cardio station, how well things were placed in the gym, and how up to date it was with the equipment.

I went in yesterday,,been black card member for years,,was going to tanning bed but forgot my eye wear which is rare. She said I had to purchase little stickers for eye protection I said fine , pulled out a dollar she said we don't take cash,,,instead of letting me have them or bring in a charge card the next day No she said I couldn't use it. I go back today had my eye wear , she said I couldnt go back because it hadn't been 24 hrs since my last visit. Let's just say I was not happy and told her she turned me away yesterday and that I hadn't used the tanning bed, and yes it was the same girl. Gym is kept clean and staff is friendly but the grips around the equipment frequently have a loose black tar like adhesive on it around them.

Pretty standard selection of workout gear, nothing special but it suited my purposes and you couldn't beat it for the price. That said busy hours can be extremely busy and the floor gets a little clogged up with people, a lot of whom don't really know gym etiquette or practice it.

This place is kept really cleanly and the staff is really friendly however as a former group fitness instructor it does lack some fitness equipment. Such as equipment for box jumps for plyometric training or perfect push up handles to perfect your push up form or barbells that are not on machines for power cleans or deadlifts. Even forearm rollers or hand grips as with anything their comes liability as why these things may not be offered. However I think this equipment would enhance the experience.

Just recently started going back and really like this particular PF. The layout is peculiar to me as we lived out of state and attended another branch. However, the locker rooms and the showers are great. Peak hours get a bit busy, so be warned! There's always somebody knocking PF.... but for the price point and benefits of the black card, you really can't beat it if you shower daily and tan weekly. There's plenty enough machines and free weights to get the job done if you're actually there to get the job done 💯

So "most" planet fitnesses are basically the same so I only rate them based on the 3 factors that I care about the most and find varies the most...so....#1 hours of operation = perfect, this one is open 24/7. #2 showers = great! Good water pressure, doesn't get cold then hot then cold etc, and there's plenty of space for you and your supplies. There's 3 showers and only 2 changing stalls but I've never had to wait for either. # 3 staff = good. Polite and not pushy or judging. Often I just go in for just the showers and noone's given me trouble for it.

Several cardio options to choose from. Clean. I do not want to say it is an entry level gym, but definitely has its strengths and weaknesses. A well rounded assortment of machines that focus on specific muscle groups from head to toe. Free weights in the form of dumb bells not exceeding 100 lbs. Flat benches and incline benches. Stretching area. Massage chairs.

If you are looking for sweaty humans in minimal coverings, massive squat racks, loading a small Ford Ranger pickup truck on a leg press rack, dropping bars and plates, slamming medicine balls, yelling and slapping your workout partner around, and everyone wanting a flat bench and 1 more 45 lbs. plate for chest day... this gym may not be for you.

Make no mistake, anyone could get in terrific shape here, and the staff is generally very helpful.
