I came into BR Active with some hesitation and uncertainty. I was a couple weeks out from my 45th birthday. I had just been diagnosed with diabetes and high cholesterol and some other health problems. I was also the heaviest I’ve ever been. Dwayne has been nothing short of exceptional. He has walked me through the process of getting back in shape. The workouts are challenging but also freeing. He takes the guess work out of it. He builds workouts that are scalable for any fitness level. I hit the 5 am class and the crew is welcoming with no egos.

Br active is different in that there really isn’t a competition everyday. I only have to compete against myself.

I highly recommend anyone looking for a place to get FIT, come give BR Active a chance.

Joining this gym has been a great experience. The coaches are knowledgeable and motivating without being overbearing, and they really care about helping you improve. The workouts are challenging but doable, and the supportive community makes a big difference. I’ve seen real progress in my strength and fitness, and I actually look forward to coming in. Absolutely loved my drop-in experience at CrossFit BR! Dwayne was the coach of my class and he was very thorough in explaining the workout, warming up the class and making sure everyone was comfortable with that day's WOD.

The class I attended (9 am) was awesome. Every person in class made sure to stop and introduce themselves to me and stuck around after to chat.

If you ever find yourself in Baton Rouge looking for a CrossFit gym, this is a must-stop!

I am completely brand new to CrossFit. I’ve been going to the planet fitness for a while, but that’s really about it.
The first thing I noticed was how much more I enjoyed the group setting versus the solo workouts I’m used to doing. It’s much more enjoyable as a class. Helps keep me motivated, accountable, and consistent!
The coaches are also ensuring I have proper form, and are walking me through movements so that I don’t injure myself. I think that’s amazing.
I also find that I push myself harder than I do at the solo gym, which means I’ll be able to get further in my fitness goal.
The owner, Dwayne, is also a very nice guy. Very easy to talk to, and is very genuine!
I’m two weeks in as of now, and it’s tough. But it’ll get more doable as I get used to everything.
I would absolutely recommend this gym!

I like this gym because of the atmosphere there is no distractions allowing you to fully focus on what you are doing. I love that there is regressions and progressions to every exercise and a way to test your progression in the gym

When I moved back to BR, I wanted to continue CrossFit and needed to find a box to do so. A lot of people at my old box recommended Crossfit BR. I did my research and decided to go with this box because I really liked the programming which consisted of combining weight training along with the WOD. I was very impressed with how much care and attention that all the coaches gave. They wanted to see you improve and made sure you were performing the movements correctly. They look for incentives to encourage you to come workout, they have built an incredible and encouraging community and the coaches are incredibly helpful when it comes to the training. If you are wanting to start CrossFit or are already doing crossfit, I highly recommend CrossFit BR!!!!

When I came to this gym I was extremely out of shape and my motivation for fitness was at an all time low. Dwayne, his coaches and the incredible community he fosters completely changed this. I have been coming consistently for over a year and I am in some of the best shape of my life. I am apart of something I absolutely love. I am a proud member of the 5am club and it is the best part of my day. The workouts are fun and safe. The coaches won’t let you down and encourage safe development with excellent coaching. The price is extremely fair for the attention you receive and the impeccable equipment I am allowed to use. If I could give this gym 10 stars, I would.

Crossfit BR has been a life changer for me. I am able to do so many things that I use to say “I could never do that”. It makes me push myself to be a completely better version of myself. The coaching staff is amazing- they truly care and not only worry about that 1 hr and getting you in and out. They get to know you, they care, they take the time to keep you safe while still pushing you, and end up making that the best hour of your day! Lastly- the community is the best and probably the #1 drive that keeps me going every day. I have met the best of friends here. I was very insecure and hesitant to join at first but I was so pleased to walk into a supportive and completely non-judgemental environment. Couldn’t recommend CrossfitBR more! Come visit us :)

Outstanding coaching and facilities!! On my 4th year with this crew and can't imagine working out anywhere else. The focus is on quality movements. I've been going to CrossFit BR for a little over a year now. I started when I was stuck in probably the worst shape of my life and now I'm stronger than I've ever been. The coaches are very knowledgeable and help you understand the movements so that you may reach your goals without injuring yourself. In fact, the Crossfit 101 program was great in helping me build up to the Rx movements. The owner, Dwayne, is probably one of the most dedicated people in the business. He is always encouraging and pushing us to do our best.

In my opinion the best thing about CrossFit BR is the community. The support from the other members is incredible. That moment when you don't think you can go any further, you'll have two or three members there cheering you on to finish. Then there are goals... We write our short and long term goals on the chalk board. It feels pretty great when you're able to move your 'goals reached' to the other side of the board.

I highly recommend CrossFit BR for anyone who is looking to start a crossfit routine as a beginner or even as an experienced athlete.

Excellent coaches and facility. They have top of the line equipment and it is very well organized, which I really liked. The owner, Dwayne, is extremely knowledgeable about CrossFit, and all of the movements that he teaches. In addition, they have a great on-boarding program (which they refer to as 101) that allows a new athlete to slowly progress and get in shape without injuring themselves! Great place and people.

I joined CrossfitBR thinking I was going to try a different workout for a few months so I could get a little different workout. That was 19 months ago. The way I feel now compared to before is amazing. I had been working out for about 4 years before trying Crossfit and I thought I was in good shape. Now I feel better and am in much better physical shape.

I was worried about trying Crossfit because I had heard people getting hurt and I have a couple of herniated discs in my back and neck. CrossfitBR does a great job of making sure while each person is doing the workouts they watch and coach you throughout the workouts to help you avoid injuries. There is no workout that can prevent 100% of anyone's injuries but I will say I feel better than I have in a long time and am more confident that I won't get hurt because of the training I get and workouts we perform here.

I would recommend anyone to CrossfitBR.
