CITY SURF is a workout experience like nowhere else. It is quite challenging but engaging and fun. I had a shoulder injury and almost every coach I met took the time to tell me how I can adjust some movements and be safe.
Taylor in particular AMAZING is amazing and I just signed for all of her class, 6am or 6pm if she is teaching I will in.

City surf is a challenging but very unique workout. Taylor was an amazing instructor and made the class fun and enjoyable even though balancing on the surfboard was challenging at times for me. It definitely takes a couple of classes to get the hang of it but don't get discouraged because everyone is very nice and happy to assist, and I am definitely feeling the soreness from the workout and looking forward to the next time!

Really enjoyed all of my classes at City Surf so far! It is a really great mix of a cardio and strength workout. The first class can be a bit challenging in adjusting to the feel of the board. However, you DO get used to it, and by my 4th or 5th class, I felt like I really got the hang of it. I also recommend buying the socks with grips on the bottom (they sell them at Walmart). Everyone is different, but I personally felt like that really helped me feel more stable!

This studio is really great, especially if you are looking to switch up your normal work out routine. My favorite class is Big Kahuna with Emley! She is very encouraging and welcoming! I would definitely recommend trying out a class here.

Great workout! The board adds extra challenge, so even moves that seem simple are harder on the balance board! I always burn a few hundred calories by the end of a city surf class!

City Surf is great! Instructors are always very excited and helpful. You exercise on surfboards (which has balls under them). Very good for your core!

This is a really fun way to mix up your workouts. Plus, the teachers are really nice. I felt no judgement, despite being completely new to the workout.

I always feel challenged (and sore!) after a City Surf class. I've had different instructors and every person has their own twist on how to approach the board. City Surf NOLA has such a strong community and a strong team!

City Surf is such a unique workout! I do tons of group classes, and I was pretty surprised by how challenging the balance aspect of the board is. I also like the variety of classes they offer (some HIIT, strength training, etc). All the instructors are great - Becky is really invested in each client to have a great experience. And I had one class with Zac and burned a ton of calories and left super sweaty, which was a nice plus!

I have taken 5 beach body bootcamp classes here, and every time I go to class I feel engaged and challenged because of the variety of exercises we do in a short amount of time; everything from the glutes, core and arms are worked hard. It took two classes for me to feel adjusted to the board. The studio itself is cute and quaint and reminds you that there are no bad days! The towel service is also very nice!

Ok first let me say overall fun and great class. Owner is really nice, instructor is super fit and nice, place is clean and the surf boards are hard to get used to but SO FUN. I plan on going back. The reasons I only gave four stars:
-signed a waiver but no mention or discussion of injuries. I had knee surgery, no worries, I modify stuff-instead of jump squats I do normal etc. And BEFORE class, the owner made sure to say to me one on one that it’s ok the step off the board, she was so sweet and accommodating. But the *instructor, DURING class seemed more into forcing yourself thru it/heavier weights/almost shame-y about pushing yourself instead of saying stuff like hey it’s ok if you need to modify. Shame is too harsh of a word, but that’s how it felt? I take all kinds of classes, and no matter what level the instructors usually say things like if you can’t do this with weights drop them and focus on form! Or it’s ok to drop to your elbows, or be careful of your knees, take a break if you need, etc. this instructor said things like “if you really can’t use both weights, fine, you can drop the lighter one.” Different vibe to it is the only way I can describe it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to be pushed! Like I said the instructor was ripped so obviously it’s good to have someone so fit push you and make you try harder. Butttt don’t push so hard that more timid people who are afraid to say no/don’t know their bodies as well wind up hurting themselves or feeling miserable and frustrated. I was totally fine because I know my joints and I dgaf what some workout class thinks about me, no shame, but maybe other shy people or someone new to working out would definitely feel less ok here than other classes I take. It’s equally good to let people do their best, and more/encouraging “you can make this easier by” announcements from the instructor throughout class would be good for new people, I think.
-Was really warm. Class was at 5 and shop was closed with lights/electric off until the owner arrived at 4:30. They turned on AC and have fans, but 30 minutes in Nola is not enough time to get an empty room cool in the afternoon, let alone a workout class room. Owner came and asked me/other first timers if we liked it, I said it was fun but pretty warm? She replies oh it’s hard to keep it cool with people working out in here...no. I have a gym, I do CrossFit, spin, boxing, yoga...-that’s not the “warm” I’m talking about. You need to have the ac on for at least 1-2 hours in the summer before class begins in this swamp state.
BUT the class was really fun, everyone is friendly and means well, a phenomenal workout, and as long as you get a board in front of a fan and don’t really care (like I don’t) if you had to make your own adjustments/are the only one not using weights for a move etc, you will love it. Super cute branding too.

Best. Workout. Ever. After going to classes regularly, this is by far, the best shape I've been in in my life. It's a great mix of strength building and cardio. The trainers are easy to follow and the owner, Becky, couldn't be sweeter.

I have never been one to like group workout classes, but City Surf has changed that for me! Provides a great but also fun workout.
These classes put every muscle to work (some you didn’t even know you had)! Great workout, upbeat/fun classes, highly recommend!!

My favorite fitness studio I have ever been to!! The instructors are motivating, the environment is extremely welcoming for people of every fitness levels, and it doesn't get any cooler than doing fitness on a surf board. I have seen so much improvement with my strength, balance, and overall fitness level since I have started. 100% recommend!!!

I'm a 47-year-old mom who hates to exercise. I started at City Surf in August, having done no exercise all summer. It's now October and I've been twice a week since I started. Unlike with other exercise programs I've tried, I've had no injuries and no boredom. The classes vary so much, move so quickly, and are challenging at every level of fitness. This way they go by quickly and I'm motivated to keep going.

Have been going for a week now and absolutely love it! Wish I had found City Surf when I first moved here. Such a great work out that really incorporates your entire body including strength, cardio, and core work. Will definitely be continuing to come here as long as I live in New Orleans!

I love City Surf! They offer a variety of different class options and each class has been very different (and challenging) based on the instructor and class type. Don't be intimidated by the surf board, it's easy to get the hang of within your first class, and the instructors check in with you to offer suggestions and help when needed as well as a quick tutorial prior to class. I would recommend.

I have loved absolutely every class and all of the instructors bring their own style to the classes, which make them all a little different. Before my first one I bought an unlimited month pass at the intro price, DO IT!! You will love the classes (they’ll kick your butt, in a good way) and be glad you did. I’m bummed I’m leaving town and won’t be able to come to the classes anymore. Becky, the owner, is seriously the sweetest and makes you feel welcomed immediately!
