Attempted to cancel membership in person after being told by them I had to do that. Was told the manager would be there and have to do it with her. Got there after leaving work early to go in person to find out she left for the day. I called and explained I was moving and would not be able to come back due to moving and my remaining work schedule. I was told by the manager to send a certified letter, which I did from the post office. It’s now 90 days later and they are still charging me. I followed their cancellation policy as told to me by their manager. This is not a reputable business to deal with. I wish I had read all the reviews about people having the same issue with cancellations. I recommend finding somewhere else to workout that honors its contract regulations.

Great concept for working out but this location is the pitts. Staff very nice and cordial. The problem is other things like doors that are hard to open and close and they screetch and the sauna temperature takes a while to get to 125 degrees. How do I know this? I'm a Sweat Everywhere member. Sauna 4 takes it to get to #8 in Hot Warrior class to even be close to 125 degrees. Cycle room, if you are the first one of the day, it literally takes about 2 rotations to even begin to see 120 degrees. Other HW gyms get to 125 degrees before the first cycle class ends. Just not right here. Needs some serious maintenance issues. The temp and doors are the ABSOLUTE worse. Be aware....it's very small with no place to sit and put cycle shoes on unless you go to the front area. No benches to be found bc of the smallness. Be prepared to get close and personal as you pass others down the hall or you switch out with others bt classes. This location should do better after this review.

Love Hotworx so much, this Lsu location is great! It is must try gym, I have never felt better about myself, and Hotworx makes working out easy and fun! They hold lots of specials and deals all throughout the year. Though it’s not huge, it comes with great staff! They know everyone by name and are always helping out with anything you need. You would be a fool to not join Hotworx!

Would not recommend. I gladly had a membership for several months, but when I decided to cancel, every interaction with the general manager became an issue.

This time of year is ridiculously busy at work, so I requested my cancellation through email (in writing), and was met with multiple phone calls, and then an email. When I replied to the email, I stated that I was unsure what needed to be communicated by phone since I had issued a written request to cancel, and was told that the request needed to be "certified." I then asked if this meant they wanted something notarized and informed them I would be submitting something to them by mail the following Monday. The reply email was, "I'm happy to process your cancellation whenever you're able to return my call. Have a great week!" I did not respond because 1) I was unable to talk to her during business hours because I had been swamped at work, 2) a phone call is not a more reliable means of cancellation than email or mail, and 2) I had already notified them that I would be mailing a cancellation request.

Two days after the last email, but before I could mail my request to cancel, I noticed two pending charges on my bank account from HotWorx. One charge was the amount of the monthly fee and the other charge was an amount greater than the monthly fee. When I finally got some time to make a non-work related phone call during work hours, I called to ask about the two fees. I was told that since my card had declined in January (it was canceled in early January due to fraudulent activity which I have since provided them proof of through my correspondence with the bank) I was being charged the monthly fee in February as well as the cancellation charge. I had forgotten to update them with my new card information, because I was also in the midst of buying a house that month, so there was just a lot going on.

Brandi Palmer, who is the person I corresponded with by both email and phone, told me that she did not know about my card being cancelled for fraudulent activity on my account since I had "ignored her phone calls," but that she would refund the monthly fee charge and leave the cancellation charge. At no point did I request this refund. It was offered to me following the jab about "ignoring" her calls. At this point I was simply calling to figure out what the two charges were, since at no time had I been informed that my cancellation request by email was being honored.

Fast forward 2+ weeks to today, and I reach out by email again after noticing the charge had not been refunded. Not only did Brandi initially claim to not know who I spoke to by phone, she then refused to refund me, citing the terms of the contract. Upon reminding her of our conversation where she accused me of ignoring her calls and then offering the refund, she forwarded me a screenshot which included various terms regarding declined payments, membership cancellations, refunds, and one provision which states "Oral Statements: No oral promises or statements made by staff or other members of HOTWORX are part of this contract."

So it seems that Brandi, very aware of the terms of the contract, offered to refund me over the phone, likely while knowing that her promise to refund did not have to be honored because of the terms of the contract. Given the nature of our interactions, I feel it is likely that she had no intention of honoring the refund offer she made during the phone call. A refund I never requested in the first place, and was only following up on because it was volunteered to me by the general manager.

After this whole situation, I certainly would not recommend this business to anyone.

Had a great time at the studio today! The staff were super friendly and the workouts were intense! I also like how isolated you are during your workout; they really take Covid safety measures seriously! I felt great after my workout and already can’t wait to go in again!

This place is really awesome. I did the first day I trial and i was hooked. I honestly did not want to pay for a gym membership anywhere but i felt like this place was worth it. The benefits you get here you won't be able to get at any other gym. It not only helps you with your goals for weight and for strength but it helps detoxify you mentally and physically. It has helped me with pains that i have had for a long time and the more I go there the better i feel. Honestly it's worth it. Yes it's a little expensive but its price what it's worth. So i hope anyone who reads consider trying it. Don't be afraid come out your comfort zone it will be worth it. I would post a picture but I am at work typing this because I see they didn't have to many reviews and one review falsely accused them of being, "horrible" which they are not.

Unfortunately I had to move, so I canceled my membership but Fletcher (the owner) was really easy to work with. Most gyms try to haggle and make it difficult to cancel but Hotworx understands that customer service goes a long way. The facility was great and I felt so refreshed and energized after my workouts. I would definitely recommend this place based on the customer service alone.

This place is beyond horrible!! I originally started with this in August! I was told upon signing a membership i would be able to go to another location that would open that had a shower. That was a lie i get two bank chargers from two hotworx.. the new owner says the person wasn’t supposed to do this and still had access to his computers.. on top of this the manager at this time has no type of understanding.. she no longer works there.. i talk to another manger and say i want to cancel she says fine your eligible for cancellation i get a charge again next month.. training of employees and polices is horrible.. never again!!!

I paid for my membership from May-August I just got charged another fee for monthly charge and it is December I have not even lived in Baton Rouge since August. I cancelled because I was moving and they still charged me for 2 more months after I paid 90 dollars to cancel. This place is NOT worth all this money and I believe is taking money from people. I will be reporting this to my bank. I do not even think they deserve one star

Perfect place to get in shape! Taylor showed me around and I got to do a free session before signing up. Just go in and try it, you'll be hooked. I didn't know I could burn more calories at Hotworx in 15 minutes than I would in a 1 hour workout. Love it!
