I canceled my HOTWORX membership in person at the Magazine Street location in early 2024 and signed the official cancellation form. I was told my account was fully closed.

In June 2025, I discovered that I had still been charged monthly ever since my cancellation. I canceled my credit card and was reimbursed for those charges. Then, I noticed that HOTWORX began charging my checking account, an account I never authorized them to use. I’ve since reported those transactions as fraudulent.

Despite multiple phone calls and messages, no one from the Magazine Street studio has returned my call. When I contacted corporate, I was told they could only provide the same local number as they are all independently owned and operated, leaving me with no resolution.

Not once have I received an apology for this mistake.

This experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I would caution anyone considering a membership here to keep thorough records and monitor your accounts closely.

After reading other Google reviews, I've noticed that they have scammed other customers in the same way - charging months after cancellation (past the 60-day period). I guess I'll have to monitor my bank account for the foreseeable future to ensure they don't charge me again.

I’ve been a member at this HOTWORX for a year now and love it! It’s the first gym to officially turn me into a full-on gym rat! The flexibility of scheduling workouts has kept me consistent, and the infrared heat has given me so many benefits, from muscle recovery to a great sweat detox. I have been meaning to come by and leave a review. I literally love this place. I love the fact that it's not ever really over crowded. It's small it's quaint. It feels very personal. I can say that my experience has been even better since Jarden has been there. He is a breath of fresh air. He brings such a positive light you can tell He really loves what he's doing. He's always cleaning up making sure everything is in order seeing how you feel offering you tips he definitely Makes your experience 100% better I feel as though he should be on the commercials or something. The workouts are quick and effective. They push you to the max in a short amount of time that's what I really love. I joined HotWorx a little over a month ago, and I love the workout I get here, but what truly makes this place special is the staff. Gyms can be intimidating sometimes, but this is the most warm, bubbly, and genuine team of people I’ve ever met. The first day I walked in to check it out, Zoe showed me and my husband around and she was so extraordinarily lovely that we both left and said “if I were hiring for a job, no matter what it was, I’d ask her to come work for me.” The manager, Jarden, is also so kind, professional, and positive and always takes the time to have a genuine conversation with members. I’ve never seen the facility anything less than impeccably clean and perfectly maintained. Some of the equipment can be expensive (I’m sure due to guidance from the company), but they’ve always gone out of their way to make sure I get the best deal possible and it seems like they’ve developed a culture of “taking care of members will keep them coming back.” And it does! I look forward so much to my workouts that I rarely ever miss a day.

The second thing that I love about HotWorx is how beneficial it’s been to helping me recover from a bad injury. When I went to my first session, I couldn’t even bend down and touch my knees much less my toes. I was in constant pain and thought it was something I’d have to live with forever. The workouts, while CHALLENGING, have never felt like they put undue stress on any of my joints, and I believe the infrared has assisted with speedy muscle recovery allowing me to be more consistent. I did a session today and was able to touch my toes with straight legs! I can sit at my desk now all day at work without the shooting pains or numbness in my legs, and I don’t wake up stiff anymore.

If you are even slightly on the fence about joining, I urge you to take a free trial class! Some of the messaging from corporate can be a little gimmicky, but I just tune it out and focus on enjoying seeing myself get stronger. Thank you so much HotWorx team for seriously changing my life!

I just wanted to take a minute and note how incredible the new management is at the HOTWORX Uptown, New Orleans location. I’ve been a member for ~two years and go religiously (probably an average of five times a week). I had been extremely frustrated in all candor for the ~prior year and a half as the prior management frequently left the location, unkept/dirty (bathrooms filthy, no refills of sanitary wipes etc), and constantly during staffed hours let the sauna get cold simply from being lazy to get up and walk around periodically (likely my biggest single frustration). Jordan and this relatively new management staff at this location is beyond incredible, keep the place absolutely immaculate and clean and are incredibly attentive and welcoming. No one pays me to say this, but I did again feel like I needed to give a public accolade to this new management staff at Hotworks. They go above and beyond and it makes the experience top-notch on something I already got a lot of enjoyment out of. Thanks!

I have been a member of Hotworx for years and visited this location many times around 2021-2022 noticing how it never got cleaned, smelt terrible, etc. I came back for a visit recently and it has been night and day turned around. Management was SO friendly, helpful, and the biggest difference is how CLEAN it is in the saunas, bathrooms, and FX Zone. I am very impressed with the turnaround and will be visiting more often now that I know how much better it is now.

I have to take the time to write a review about the amazing new GM at the Hotworx Uptown NOLA location. His name is Jarden. My daughter was a member of Hotworx during her undergrad studies in NOLA. She cancelled her membership in April 2024 because she was moving away to start her masters degree. She went into the HOTWORX location Uptown, signed the necessary cancellation documents, and got a email confirmation with that document attached after she went in to complete the process with the general manager at the time of that location. I can only deduce from my career experience that the general manager, unbeknownst to us, must have gone back in the system and reversed my daughter’s cancellation, which was signed and on record. We have been paying for the membership on auto draft for over a year. We tried to report fraud with our credit card company multiple times and each time it was not removed by HOTWORX. I do not think this had anything to do with Hotworx as a corporation, I believe it was due to one bad apple on that location’s team. Enter Jarden. I called today because a different credit card was being auto drafted after we went through the trouble last month of canceling the credit card, completely closing the account, and changing the account details because we just couldn’t get the charges to stop showing up and weren’t being reimbursed. Jarden was absolutely incredible and contacted HOTWORX corporate office for us in order to immediately stop the charges and Issue a refund for the over year we have been charged for a membership that was officially canceled. I cannot say enough great things about him as a leader. He listened to my concerns, took the time to do some forensic accounting and look up the details of what had occurred, while remaining extremely professional and helping me try to solve the problem. I was a retail executive for 30 years and he is the type of talent that I would have recruited for my team. He is an asset to your organization and will no doubt help make the uptown HOTWORX location the most profitable in your organization. Thank you for your help Jarden and thank you HOTWORX corporate office for finally solving our issues. I will highly recommend you all to everyone!!

Hotworx is seriously such a cool place. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I ended up loving it! The infrared workouts are intense but in the best way, and the vibe of the whole place is super clean and motivating. Jarden was hands down one of the best parts of my visit. I just had my first visit to HOTWORX Uptown New Orleans, and I am absolutely OBSESSED. From the second I walked through the door, I was welcomed by the most incredible general manager, Jarden. He was kind, professional, articulate, and radiated such positive energy that it instantly made me feel excited to be there. Jarden went above and beyond to walk me through everything I needed to know, and truly made me feel like I belonged.

Thanks to him, I signed up for a month-long membership on the spot and have already booked sessions for the next three days in a row. The workout itself was intense in the best way, and I left feeling rejuvenated, empowered, and totally hooked.

Went to HotWorx Uptown today for the first time with 2 friends. We met Jarden (the general manager) and he was the most lovely, professional and helpful person ever. He helped us with every question we had, checked in on us mid work out, and helped us find the best and most cost-conscious option for a membership. Jarden made me want to do this EVERYDAY and i’m even going two times tomorrow. We LOVE Hotworx and LOVE Jarden even more. We ran home and told all of our friends immediately. Mix of scammers and poor business skills. They gave me the whole sales pitch and intro, and I tried it out. It’s just pre-recorded videos. You can watch YouTube or peloton workouts at home and not have to be in a TINY hot room dripping sweat next to other people on your $100 mat and towel set up. So anyway, halfway through signup, the guy mumbles through about the cancellation policy and thank goodness I asked a lot of clarifying questions. When I want to cancel, I can give them the 30 day notice and then it will cancel after another 60 days? Something like essentially I’ll still be on the hook for 2-3 months. It felt weird that this was barely mentioned right as I’m signing the final contract page and after they have my CC info. So after *not* signing up, I was charged $70 SIX TIMES after never ever having fully signed up. They refunded first 3 errors when I caught it. I was nice. Figured it was a glitch. They said they fully removed me from their systems and apologized. Then I’m charged AGAIN. They didn’t even respond back to me or try to help when I notified them.

Their membership is a scam. If you want to cancel, you gotta let them know 2 mo ahead of time, or you pay a fine. Typical gym contract stranglehold. We completed the 90 days (107 days) on a family plan but were told we didn't honor the contract, and we would still receive a $99 penalty. We got a $200 fine because we were in a family plan. Besides that, the gym is a gimmick. Upsell mats and merch, not much of a shower, most members dont wipe down the equipment, and there is not a big weight selection.

Love this place. Great place to reduce stress. The only suggestions I’d have would be to put in a water bottle filler with filter like other gyms have. Also to offer bands more than once every 2.5 hours. Sometimes I’ll use the weights or bikes.

I would really like to say I thoroughly enjoyed my time at HOTWORX-NEW ORLEANS, the home campus. It’s truly a beautiful and welcoming studio, and really the only hot sauna experience your gonna get in New Orleans and it’s 24hours!!. I want to specially thank Rachel, the manager who works there. She’s super passionate about the studio space and cares alot about her members experience. It’s truly great when you genuinely meet someone that actually actually cares. Unfortunately my time was cut short to a last minute move for a job opportunity but I will definitely miss my spin cycle classes! The bestest!

They also have a free weight space in the back you can utilize if your hard core like me wit the workouts! 🤪🤟🏾

One usually begins a great review with “I can’t say enough…” Well I’m going to say I want to say how much I appreciate Rachel, at the uptown location, for her I ate gift of welcoming me and make me feel like I’ve come to her home rather than her work space. Rachel always has an infectious smile and the most exuberant energy one would call “rising to the occasion”. I’d like to also say that I was famished and was trying to place a to-go order from the restaurant next door as to have it ready for pick-up upon my leaving gym. The only sad part to this story is I couldn’t get anyone at the restaurant on the phone so I might place my order.
Rachel happened to be walking past me, she could clearly see my frustration and asked if I was okay and could she help me. I expressed my frustration and she said to me “I’ve got this… I will happily go next door and place the order for you myself… it will be ready when you are done with your workout. 💪
This is what I call going above and beyond the call. Thank you HOTWORX for have selected such a valuable human to have on your team and mostly thank you Rachel for your continued love of service.

I’ve been a member of this studio since early 2023 and I can honestly say I love the studio. Everytime I walk in, I’m greeted usually by name and that gives such a warm feel. The studio is always clean and employees have always promptly aided in anything that went arise. Usually user error. The studio is always clean and smelly fresh. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! THIS GYM! The staff are wonderful and very helpful. You are greeted and feel welcomed when you walk in the door. If you have back problems the infrared saunas are life changing. I loved hot yoga but the class availability, length of time (1-1.5 hrs) and the cost didn't seem to fit. Welcome HOTWORX Uptown - infrared hot saunas, 15-45 minute workouts available 24/7 and cost per month is soooo inexpensive! So I signed up for HOTWORX as a founding member back in November. My dreams have come true and the results are showing! I was recently asked what changed in my life because I was glowing! My answer - HOTWORX! I feel better, have more energy, less joint pain, show up consistently (3-4 times a week) and have even gotten 4 friends to join me (hello 3 months free membership). If you are a busy person like me and have a schedule that frequently changes - you need to come check it out.
