The team at the Training Room are a professional and warm bunch. I went two separate times over the course of a few months each to address my knee, foot, and later shoulder pain through physical therapy. Dr. Sonia is thoughtful, patient and comforting. As a result of doing physical therapy, I addressed my pain and now have a library of exercises and stretches that I can use to prevent injury. They see you one on one which allowed me to build a trusting relationship with the providers there so if and when I need to return, I know that I'm in good hands. I highly recommend the training room.

I started going to Jonathan for PT after being diagnosed with a SLAP tear in a last ditch effort to avoid surgery. At the time, my right shoulder was killing me and was pretty much useless. I could only raise it a few inches from my side. Jonathan did some voodoo which I still don't fully understand to strengthen the muscles in my shoulder and back, and I now am pain free with almost 100% range of motion. I can't recommend Jonathan enough.

I have been a patient at the training room twice! And I constantly refer all my friends and family here. It is so nice to be 1:1 with your Physical Therapist and have dedicated time to ask questions + provide feedback. All my sessions were under an hour and my exercises were appropriate and challenging. Previously, I felt that I was prescribed a lot of volume with exercises I could have done at home by myself. You should absolutely receive Physical Therapy at the Training Room! You will not regret it

As a former professional athlete I have had many, many ailments and physical therapists throughout the years. Jonathan is the best I've had. That's why I've continued to see him throughout the years and recommend him to others. But I just had to leave a review with my most recent spinal injury. I was in a great deal of pain, both physically and emotionally, and the whole staff was SO very supportive, kind, attentive, knowledgable, and funny. I left with my spirits lifted and my pain greatly improved, not to mention my mobility. I often find that medical fields can be dismissive, authoritarian, marginalizing, but the opposite is true for this fantastic team. If I could give additional stars I would. Forever grateful, and likely (with my propensities) will forever be you patient.

I am no stranger to injury and have become an old friend to recovery. However, at The Training Room, everything is different. In the past I injured my shoulder which has continued to plague me for 15 years. Numerous doctors and physical therapists advised no weighted overhead movement for the rest of my life. In 2020 one wrong movement at work and I herniated a disc in my back. While my recovery support through this was better, I was still anticipating lifelong deficits and restrictions. I was just starting to see what my body could do after surgery, when a simple slip caused me to tear the PCL in my knee. Yet, 6 months into recovery I was still in a brace and in pain. That is when I found The Training Room. I needed a gym home and a support system to force me out of all the negative spaces in my own head.
I began physical therapy with Jonathan Burke and taking classes at the gym. On the first day I was told to put the brace away. PT was reinforced with at home exercises and modified movements to the work-outs. Yep, the same CrossFit workouts everyone else was doing. Over the last 3 months I have regained my confidence in my body, and I know I am not done yet. Yes, there have been setbacks, and some days are frustrating and uncomfortable. I have not had a single day that I felt out of place in the classes, or like I was not pushing my body with the movement modifications. The team of therapists, coaches and the entirety of the members make The Training Room feel welcoming and supportive.
I am back to living life my way with no forever restrictions. I am lifting and pulling overhead, I am progressively loading my back and core. That silly knee injury is also on the mend and actually put me right where I needed to be. If you are looking for a group of everyday amazing athletes, knowledgeable coaches, a supportive medical recovery team and just a whole lot of fun, stop by The Training Room and join us.

My 16 year had ACL surgery and completed his 9 month rehab program with The Training Room. I am a physician assistant in orthopedics and chose The Training Room based on their reputation. The entire team is professional and welcoming. All of the therapists are incredible. For his sports clearance exam, my son tested better on his surgical leg than on his unaffected leg! I started seeing Dr Jonathan Burke with knee pain and tight quads. He performed dry needling, cupping and various other techniques and also provided strength training for me to incorporate into my workout regimen. I successfully completed two Ironman races this year with ZERO pain and even PR’d the second one thanks to the great care he has provided. Highly recommend!

If you are looking to start working out or thinking about switching gyms because your workouts are boring. This is your place!!! All of the coaches are amazing. The 5:15am class is on point… but if that’s to early they offer a variety of classes throughout the day. After many years at one gym, I was ready for something new. I’ve been a member for almost 2 years now. My lifting, strength and confidence has improved so much that I look forward to going to class every morning. With the right coaching and of course the friendship you gain, cheering you on during your workouts you will not be disappointed. TTR is truly a friendly fun atmosphere.

I started with The Training Room to have physical therapy for a broken ankle playing in adult rec sport league. I can't recommend The Training Room enough. I wanted to go a place where they took my fitness and athletic goals seriously.

My PT was Jamie and she was always kind, supportive, and attentive to what my goals were. She gave me space to ask as many question as I needed to. She also made sure to ask what my pain level was, comfort level, and gave me advice to help manage my recovery goal expectations.

The fact that they are a functional fitness gym was a major bonus for my recovery process. The whole place has a functioning gym and gym equipment that makes it easy for my PT to personalize exercises as needed.

I highly suggest everyone check them out for recovery injury needs or in general for the great coach led fitness classes.

I have been a member of TTR for a year now and I am so happy to be part of this community. Coach Kevin is the primary coach for the 5:15 am class. He makes our workouts fun. We workout hard and have a good time in the early morning. He has taught me so much about correct form with weight lifting and is there to push me to become a better athlete even at the age of 58. Coach Jonathan, is also a great coach and motivator, but is also one of the three on-site Physical Therapist. When I started at TTR I was suffering with pain in my shoulder due to an injury while working out at my previous gym. Jonathan worked with me over a course of 2-3 months to strengthen my shoulder muscles which in turn improved my mobility on the injured shoulder and now the pain is gone. Coach Sarah mostly coaches classes in the afternoon but she does make cameo appearances in the early morning and I am always so glad to see her. She is such an inspiration for women in the CrossFit community, she is strong in mind and body. Sarah is also a nutrition coach atTTR. I started with her nutritional guidance a few months ago. No fad diets or crazy restrictions with her program. She actually coaches according to your needs. With Sarah’s guidance I have lost 25 pounds. I could not be any happier with my results and have decided to continue working with her to keep myself on track. Sarah also does most of the daily programming at TTR. Her workouts are challenging and well thought out, never the same. I am truly grateful to Kevin, Jonathan and Sarah for all that they have done for me this passed year. I am a happy TTR member!

Such a great experience at The Training Room! I was having back pain when lifting heavy weights, and Jonathan quickly discovered it was in part due to lack of proper hip mobility. We worked on it together each week, and I was also given accessible exercises to do at home. I can’t recommend the Training Room enough, whether you’re looking to improve athletic performance, rehab an injury, or simply stay active. Pairing functional fitness training with physical therapy is a game changer.

My low back started to give me some trouble last month and I found that it had an impact on my life. After seeing Dr. Jonathan Burke one time so far, I can’t stress how much improvement I’ve felt. He provided me with lots of home exercises that have really helped me to expedite my recovery. The best part is that because I also started to workout at the Training Room, Dr. Jonathan Burke and all of the coaches are able to help me modify the workouts so that I can keep up with my fitness goals and continue training while not only preventing injury, but also improving my recovery through building strength and mobility.

I have been to the Training Room to workout and it has always been an excellent experience. Kevin and Sarah are exceptional coaches with an attention to detail that makes even the most inexperienced attendee feel comfortable.
I recently moved back to Metairie and was having awful neck pain and just a very uncomfortable time during my work hours. I decided to give Dr. Jonathan Burke a call and he was able to make time for me to get checked. Talk about efficient service! He did a full evaluation of my problem and with active listening he was able to develop a program and treatment for to be on my way to recovery. He did needling and focus on specific area that required my attention as well as some home exercise which made a hugeeee difference in the way I felt. He also gave me the best advise on how to set my work station as he noticed that i was improperly setting my body and causing unnecessary stress on my neck, back and traps. I adjusted my workstation and I am not working comfortable and in Beast Mode.
I highly recommend his services as he is a true professional and excellent Dr. I am well on my way to recovery and I appreciate every visit as I get to live pain free. Thank you

I joined The Training Room January 2022 and was very hesitant to join. Now I love this place! I am not an exercise person. I pretty much hated exercise. This place is so different that I actually now enjoy coming here and working out. There is a coach in every class that can modify the exercise to your level and watches so that he/she can help you do it correctly. You just show up and the exercise is planned for you. The coaches and other people are very friendly and encouraging. I am stronger feel a 100% better since joining the Training Room. I love this place!!!

Forever grateful for Jonathan and the team at the Training Room. I have been client here for the past couple of months. I am a long time -middle aged- 'athlete,' who is getting back into shape and started running again. Too hard, too soon. Needless to say, I injured myself. I didn't want to give it up running even though I was told I should. So after, a couple of months of work at the training room, a solid physical therapy regimen and being pushed to stick with it by the coaches, I can run again. I still have a little ways to go but I am almost pain free. I am pretty sure I will be soon. Not to mention, my squat depth is lower, my range of motion is better and my balance is way more stable. I really could not be more appreciate of my experience.

I struggled with shoulder pain for almost a year and always thought I could power through. I was reluctant to try PT because I assumed I would have to stop working out to give my shoulder the rest it needed to heal. I was vey wrong! Dr. Burke worked with me to modify workouts so I still felt like I left the gym and got a great workout. We initially worked on substituting movements that caused pain and once my shoulder became stronger we modified the volume. We talked about days/workouts that I could push hard and other days to reduce the reps or weight but still do the workout as written. My shoulder is now 100% better. I highly recommend The Training Room for PT because there is no need to workout with constant pain or stop working out due to pain.

I was looking for a group class atmosphere. From the first class I attended, I've felt supported and encouraged. The instructors are genuinely interested in helping you achieve your fitness goals. They are eager to provide instruction and modifications to any workout, taking consideration of your fitness level and/or injuries. If you are looking for a workout that is never boring this is the place for you! The facility is beautiful and clean. The programming is ever changing, evolving, challenging, and fun. The staff and other members are friendly, helpful and welcoming. There are many class times available to fit your schedule if you (like me) don’t want to think about your workout when you’re working out and would rather follow a routine that is planned out. There are also open gym times if you like doing t your own thing. The trainers are all very knowledgeable and experienced. Physical Therapy is also available on site! Im not much of a fitness person but I know it’s important for my health. I have always enjoyed class based fitness because I never know what to do on my own. I cant recommend this place enough, the classes are perfect for any level (and you can always come in and do your own thing if that’s your vibe). The training room is, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the place to be! If you’re looking to take the guess work out of fitness and nutrition, look no further. They have the best staff on hand to make sure you get into the best shape and condition you’ve ever been in! Trainers take the TLC to make sure you’re maintaining proper form during exercises and always offer modifications. If it’s CrossFit you’re looking for or personal one on one sessions, you could not ask for more! Physical therapists are always on staff if you’re not quite ready to hit the ground running and need to take baby steps to get there! I’m finally able to fit into my old suit again and that feels wonderful! I could not thank the staff enough for that feeling! Membership is very reasonable and classes are offered 7 days a week…what are you waiting for?!

This place is amazing. The physical Therapist is the best. He is caring, funny, and he takes his time with you. I can focus on the main goal and that is getting better, gaining complete independence without any walking aids and back on my feet with some balance.
The other place I went I could not function afterwards. I was in major pain for days after physical therapy.
I was beyond nervous and frightened to go to the Training Room after my experience with the other center.
The Training Room is polar opposites from the other place. I can function afterwards.
They also offer other services, workout services for everyone else.
