I signed my toddler up for a trial toddler ninja social class. The coaches who were very young showed up past the 9 a.m. trial class time and there was no coach engagement, they had stayed behind the desk most of the time. There was no activities or structure set up for these toddlers and it was a free for all. I could not justify spending the price to not have my toddler coached or engaged with, so we did not sign up! I wish you the best for your business.

Had a birthday party for my 7 year old here. We had Jack and Davie help us out. They were both incredibly professional and did such a nice job helping to entertain the kids. Everybody had such a blast. Would highly recommend throwing a party here.

Hosted my son's 6th birthday at the Maine Warrior Gym. The kids had so much fun and it was super easy for us. We got the larger package that came with pizza and waters and we brought the cake, favors, etc. The kids ran around had a blast!

I first went to this gym for my son’s 8th birthday and was intrigued by their gym classes, and specifically their 6-week challenge. After thinking about it for months, I accepted the challenge. I went into it thinking I knew nutrition - I was so surprised by what I leaned using the meal plan and cookbook! I worked hard, attended a variety of classes and slowly burned fat and gained more muscle. I lost 10 pounds and 6% body in just 6 weeks! So thankful I challenged myself and appreciate Wendy’s support and encouragement along the way. Highly recommend!

I joined MWG after being a member at another gym for years and I always felt very judged. From the very beginning at MWG everyone was so nice and helpful and absolutely 0% judgment was felt. We hosted my son's 9th birthday party at Maine Warrior Gym this past weekend. The space was large, clean, and full of fun obstacles. We had the place to ourselves which was a nice bonus of booking a party; however, no one demonstrated the obstacles, provided safety instructions, or offered any structured activity. It was basically just a free-for-all (which isn't necessarily a bad thing for a bunch of 9-year old boys, but for the expense I expected a little more structure to the experience).

Just completed the 6 Week challenge! The program provided me the tools and knowledge that I needed to get a solid base started for my fitness journey. They provided a nutritional workbook and guide that was kept simple, easy to follow and user friendly. Everyone I encountered was really supportive and friendly from the staff to the other members. Joey, Rob & Brayden were the coaches I interacted with the most. All were great! Rob and Brayden were very helpful when it came to answering any questions regarding progress, nutrition and injury recovery. Joey definitely knew how to create a solid routine workout that pushed you. Also Ann and Wendy were great to turn to for membership information, weekly check ins and any gym questions I had. The only thing I would have liked to see more was a more wide variety of times for classes. I was able to make the 3 times a week work but do to my work/kids schedule I wasn't able to do any more classes that were compatible with time frames. Overall a great challenge!

I knew going into the program that it would be hard, and I was extremely nervous, but it was all worth it! If you're looking for a new way of working out that holds you accountable, pushes you, and makes you feel great inside and out, Maine Warrior Gym is the place. As a former athlete approaching his 50's, I thought my days of team training were over. I've had multiple joint surgeries and one knee replacement and I thought I was done. MWG has made me feel almost athletic again, and my body feels better than it has in almost 20 years. The trainers and staff are fantastic, and teach technique over everything else. I can't recommend MWG enough!!

For anyone that hasn’t been moving as much as they used too (I’m talking to all my peers who have sedentary jobs) the Warrior gym has done great things for me over the past few months. The Warrior gym is not the same old thing I used to do at regular gyms. Every day is different with a great 45 minutes of exercise. They also have a number of different classes that meet everyone’s needs. The Warrior Gym is a great place to get yourself moving again. It’s been great for me!

Disappointed to have to do this but think people need to know: GROSS NEGLIGENCE. UNPROFESSIONAL. LACK OF HUMAN DECENCY.

Our 10 year old son attended Ninja Warrior Camp. I picked up my child from Ninja Warrior Camp and the first thing I noticed as I signed him out is that the staff refused to make eye contact with me and did not say a word to me. I found my son pale and unable to move one arm. He told me he'd hurt his arm "very badly" before lunch. I asked if he had told the staff. He told me he had told K*** and K*** had simply responded, "OK." and ignored him. He hadn't been using his arm all day since the incident! No one called me. No one offered any care to him. No one mentioned it at pick up. No one noticed, or no one cared.

We went straight to urgent care to get it x-rayed and sure enough, his arm was FRACTURED. By this time, it was after 5pm on a Friday, so he had to wear a splint and wait for 4 days to see an orthopedic surgeon.

Accidents happen, but my child being injured and ignored all day while he had a fractured arm is UNACCEPTABLE. I called and kindly asked to speak with the manager the day it happened. She was apologetic and assured me she would return my call the next day after speaking with the owner. It's been nearly 3 weeks, and I haven't heard a word. You could say I've been...ignored.

Also:
The first day at pickup, I noticed the children clamoring for attention from the young staff member who seemed to be in charge. As they repeatedly asked him questions and sought his attention, he simply pretended not to hear them, which was disappointing to see, as no child should be ignored. I chalked it up to youth and inadequate training and experience working with children, and assumed my child was safe. I had NO idea my child could get hurt and would be similarly ignored.

Despite this, previous to his injury, my son seemed to be having fun. He came home with a lot of prizes and reported that staff would "throw cards (Pokemon or Maine Warrior Gym) out all over the floor for the kids to collect, which to me sounded a bit disrespectful and demeaning.

What if a child sustained an injury that required swift medical attention? The implications are HORRIFYING. And so is the behavior of staff and owner in this situation.

I brought my son to the free trial lesson and he was completely pumped about joining the ninja squad. The teachers were fun and exuberant while focusing on safety the whole time. I was able to get my questions answered and they were very patient with me as I thought up new ones.

I did not end up signing my kiddos up as I wanted to talk to my husband about finances and time management. When I was ready to sign them up, I called the gym as I had one more question about which class my son would fit into - they never called me back so we missed the registration deadline. All in all a great place for kids and adults but make sure you work with them in person.

Update: since this initial visit we officially joined the gym after speaking with the owner and have been with them for six months now. My kiddos LOVE it here! Such a great place to take kids. It gets their energy out and they learn some cool moves. Highly recommend!

Finished the 6 week program and it was great! The nurtrition plan was easy to follow and incredibly helpful. The staff at the gym are all amazing and it's a truly welcoming and supportive atmosphere. My favorite classes, and the ones I did the most, were the ninja classes, which teach skill and provide a great work out at the same time. My favorite moments were in classes with wide ranges of abilty levels and still feeling like everyone is working towards the same goal and supporting eachother.

Maine Warrior Gym has been exactly what I was hoping it would be, a major kickstart in getting back in shape (after a 15-year hiatus!). I have done pretty lame exercise in recent years, but MWG gym reminded me of ALL the muscles that I have. I admit that I didn't stick to the diet very well, but I have made better choices over the last six weeks because the program is designed so well to motivate you to meet your goal. My wife and I have been trying to lose weight and get in better shape for years, we have had memberships at the YMCA, have purchased in home equipment, counted calories, all the usual things, with very little results. The nutrition plan was a great point of reference and the classes were fun and challenging at the same time. However the instructors as well as the other members are so motivational and encouraging. We did not once feel, like we didn't belong. I lost over 20 lbs and 3% body fat in 6 weeks.

I was sceptical if I could reach the 20 lb mark in 6 week. The meal plan isnt too bad. As long as you dont give into your cravings and stay the course MWG will do the rest. I weighed out today and I actually did lose 22.8 lbs. The coaches are great and the classes go by quick. You start to have a good relationship with what you eat. Food really is fuel. Goodluck If you decide to try it.

A disaster waiting to happen.

I’ve been to a few of their adult fitness and “ninja” classes and it was always the same sad and scary state. Unprofessional instructors more concerned with being cool and getting people excited than teaching good form and safety.

They say they have classes specific to beginner, intermediate and advanced levels, but the classes I took were just a hodge-podge of people, many of whom were unprepared for the advanced movements being performed. Never held a kettlebell before? Great, just swing a 50lb one overhead a few times! You’re in your 60s and haven’t been active in years? Fine, try out this 5’ running vault.

I’ve been doing fitness classes for years and what I saw here was just really irresponsible. I was fortunate enough to get out injury free, but I’ve since run into 3 people who got seriously hurt taking classes here- big surprise- and I’m sure there are many more out there, just too ashamed to come forward.

Sure you will see a bunch of glowing reviews from people who did a free 6 week program, not so much from those who dropped out in shame, injured and made to feel incompetent by aloof trainers with questionable credentials. This is dangerous, gimmicky pseudo-fitness at its worst. Beware.

Since doing the program I have had a boost in self confidence, mood, and energy. It also really helped me balance my stress and lack of motivation were I am finding I have more motivation and not overwhelmed easily. I was a little timid about starting a fitness program because I am so worried about working out in front of others. Little to my knowledge that is my favorite part! Not only the trainers are motivating but the others in the classes are as well. Everyone is really friendly and they are on their own journey, just like I was. I really enjoyed the group classes! For me, it wasn't about losing weight (although it's a plus) but feeling better about myself and feeling healthy. I was really intimidated at first, but after the first class (which I barely made it through!) I realized what an amazing group of trainers and members there were. There were people just as out of shape as me, struggling, then there were amazingly super strong men and women. I really feel like everyone supports one another and before I knew it 6 weeks were done and I was stronger than ever before! The Maine Warrior Gym is really great. I just finished the 6 week challenge and it really has made a huge difference. I joined because i needed a big change in my life. I needed to be more active, feel better, and eat better- and I needed structure and support to do this. I have never enjoyed working out, but I pretty much do now. The classes are varied, the coaches/instructors are fantastic, the atmosphere is supportive, and the vibe is very positive.When I say it is supportive, I mean it in the best sense- there is an expectation that everyone can do the workouts, which are really challenging. There is respect for where each person is, where we want to be, and that we each have our own reasons for making this commitment to ourselves. Instructors are great about offering modifications as needed and offer encouragement. I like the emphasis on strength and individual progress over just weight loss in the classes. Also, it is not competitive- the people in the classes I've been in are all committed to better health and support one another. I also liked the connection with nutrition. I feel so much better! and more confident. And like I belong, something I have NEVER felt at a gym or in any sporty/ physical activity setting. People are glad to see each other and people care if you come. I recommend it.

I took part in the six-week fitness challenge and here are some of my thoughts on the program-

6.1% reduction in body fat in six weeks, I am blown away by my results! The challenge at MGW gave me a framework I didn’t even know I needed. I’ve had access to all the tools before, but I’ve never prioritized all of the areas at once on my own. The nutrition was easy to follow, workouts always pushed me to go further (with fantastic trainers), and online support/accountability from others in the same mindset brought it all together. The six weeks was enough to make me take a hard look at my eating, drinking, hydrating, and exercise habits. I now have a much more balanced outlook on what taking care of myself looks like (and how good it makes me feel) in day to day living. This was exactly the mental and physical reset that I needed, my utmost thanks to MWG. I look forward to reaching my next goals with my new found tribe.

I entered the Maine Warrior Gym weight loss challenge on 1/7/19... the best thing I’ve done for myself... maybe ever!!! I’m 47 years old and I learned more about nutrition, strength training and mindset than I’ve learned my entire life before this challenge. They are so welcoming, supportive and “real” it’s unbelievable! I went into this wanting to drop some weight and finished with: beating my challenge, losing the weight, I’m a whole new level of strong I’ve never experienced, my bpms on my fitbit dropped from low 70’s to high 50’s, I have all new grocery shopping, cooking and eating habits, and best of all I can enjoy sooo many more activities with my 2 boys... I started out feeling extremely out of shape, hadn’t worked out in over a year. The first couple weeks were hard - I was really sore! But as time went on, I felt myself getting stronger and started to look forward to the classes. The trainers are excellent and very supportive. As a busy mom who works full time, I love how many times are available for classes throughout the week. The diet is strict but reasonable. The recipe book they provide has a ton of tasty and healthy options. It made me start thinking about food differently! The Facebook group for current and past challengers is AMAZING! I loved the camaraderie and support, they’ve created a real family feel at this gym. There are people at all levels of fitness, and we all cheer each other on. The Maine Warrior Gym is a great place to work out! I had hit a rut with my food and exercise choices and needed a big kick in the butt. Taking the leap to sign up for the 6 week challenge at this gym was probably one of the best decisions I have ever made. It's now 6 weeks later and although I did not hit the goal that was set for me at the start of the challenge, I did lose nearly 16 pounds and almost 8% of my body fat. What I love about MWG is that from the beginning you feel that you are part of their small community. The trainers are excellent. Each are unique, challenging yet fun. We never completed the same workout twice. I completed the 6 week challenge at MWG and plan to stay on to continue my weight loss journey. I have lost weight, gained strength and have so much energy. We tried to find something for our youngest son to do on the football offseason. We tried many different things and then we found the Maine Warrior gym. After the first open gym and lesson he was hooked. He now wants to come back 3 times a week and has invited many friends to join him.
Tim, the owner and teacher of one of the classes, is very personable and is patient and willing to work with the kids. The other guys that work there are also very patient and open to helping the kids learn whatever kind of Parkour moves they'd like to learn.
The classes go in 8 weeks segments and are oriented towards age appropriate moves. The boys and girls are grouped together in the same class and both do very well.
I echo some of the previous comments that were made about expanding, however, Tim does a great job of changing up the studio enough that the kids have a pretty varied experience each time they come to class.
We are very happy as a family that we found the Maine Warrior gym and will continue to be members there and would highly recommend this gym to others.
