The amount of people that dont wash their hands after leaving the toilet stalls is insane, every time I go use the restroom here. Some one leaves the toilet stall and goes right to the gym equipment. You just hear a toilet splash, messing with the toilet paper roll, and less than 10 seconds later, they are out of the stall and straight back into working out... more than one person too, its never the same person... I only know what I saw in the mens restroom. One day I decided cleaning the equipment before I sit is not enough... and canceled my membership

I’ve been here a couple of times, and Unfortunately the showers have consistently gone cold after just 3 minutes. It’s really frustrating, especially when you're expecting a proper hot shower. This has happened on multiple visits, so it doesn’t seem like a one-off issue. Hope it gets fixed soon, as it's a big downside to an otherwise decent experience.

Acting manager Jared is the epitome of what someone whom works in customer service should be. This gym has become like a second home to me and helped my mental health greatly - welcoming staff that remember your name and make you feel seen. CJ is also a great assistant manager. I've been going to Planet Fitness for quite awhile. I feel the one in Auburn, ME. needs help in several areas.
One is from the home office or District rep, whatever.
Why does this Planet Fitness always have Tv's not working.
Last I saw, there were 5 not working. People pay for a service, why can't they get it.
And does ESPN have to be on 4 of the Tvs that are working? A little over kill for sports.
Why have rules posted in the gym if the associates working there don't enforce th em?
Folks coming in to use the gym in sandles, flip flops, etc.Really?
Alot of customers don't even bother wiping machines down after using them, and the same for free weights as well. Alot of viruses out there!
I know the Mgr and Asst can't be everywhere, all the time. But where is the accountability for the other associates? Standing around, on their phones, etc. Everybody that goes there sees all this. In the meantime Planet Fitness gets a black eye.
Alot of customers are asking when is Planet Fitness opening in Lewiston, ME.?
That was supposed to be in April 2025?
I hope things get fixed, so PF can get back to where it used to be.

Etiquette rules are NOT enforced here. People will camp out and sit on their phones on equipment for 20+ minutes at a time. And their dress code is a joke - people violate it all the time even though it makes others uncomfortable. Staff do absolutely nothing about phone campers or half-naked people.

Members are asked to wipe down equipment but the paper towel rolls are almost always empty.

Not a good gym if you're looking for courtesy and cleanliness. I brought up my concerns to management multiple times, and was shrugged off each time. I will be finding a new gym.

The upgrades made to the gym equipment are awesome. In the last few months the staff and management have been listening to what the members are asking for and they responded in a big way. The upgrades include a lot more free weights in multiple areas, Removal of little used and older machines and the equipment was replaced with brand new machines and weights. The gym has multiple units now of popular machines so there is less waiting. It still can get busy but it is a lot easier to get a workout in with little waiting. The added staff has definitely been keeping the place clean and they are always responsive if there is an issue. The staff and managers are professional and courteous at all times. Thank you for the great work!

I didn’t like the environment of the gym and tried to cancel my account. Multiple calls to the corporate office and two visits to the gym itself. 7 months later I’m still being charged. I had to pay my bank to block charges. The ymca is very close I’m happy with their gym. Unless you want to make a lifetime commitment to Planet Fitness find another gym.

Amazing, clean, very friendly atmosphere. Just got the classic membership. On my first night, I had a little trouble figuring out, how to get the elliptical to turn on 😂😂🤦🏽‍♀️. I asked one of the workers, and he jumped right over and started it up. And the planet fitness app, is awesome too. Because it helps you keep track of your workouts. Theres all sorts of workouts, on the app you can use at home. Does an automatic calorie burn estimate. When you put in what machines, speed, and time frame you did. Definitely plan on sticking to this place!

The physical gym itself is a lot better after the remodel. The staff, however, is making me rethink my membership. First, there was the staff member accusing me of stalking women at the gym, who I informed yeah sorry no I'm gay I've never stared at a woman in my life. Then there was the staff member who pointed me out to some chick's boyfriend so *he* could accuse me of stalking his girlfriend and threaten me *in the middle of the gym*. And this morning there's the one that decides he's going to harass me that I need to set down a handle on machine more gently at the end of a set. Bro, do you understand what "failure" is or why all these machines have safety stops on them? Hint - it has nothing to do with not disturbing you at the front desk when maybe you shouod, idk, pick up the abandoned water bottles, refill the paper towel dispensers, or put the free weights and dumbbells people have just left lying around back where they go. I've been going here for a year and a half, and suddenly in the last month this place wants to act like I'm some problem customer? Why is nothing ever said to people carrying on cell phone conversations while sitting on equipment, or tying up three and four pieces of equipment at a time, or the teenagers horsing around on the floor? I go out for surgery in March, hopefully when I'm able to resume working out the Lewiston location will open and this bullshit will not transfer over there.

Great gym but the showers tend to not work every year. It’s seems to be a recurring issues that the hot water, water pressure does not function properly. No showers for almost a week.
When asked about the issues I was told that hopefully the water will be back on Thursday the 19th. When asked what was wrong I was told “water pressure.” Not a lot of information from the crew.

I would like to express my dissatisfaction and disappointment with this gym, and to warn everyone else. I started my activities on 07/25/24 and to my surprise they were debiting higher amounts than advertised in their advertisements. The correct amount is $1.00 for the initial fee, $25.00/month and a $49.00 annual fee. Today I went to ask why they were debiting these different amounts, and every minute they said something to justify it, but none of it was based on anything.

It was super late and the only time we could find to finally try to check out the gym and the membership offers and the man working the desk was super nice, super helpful, super patient, and knowledgeable for the time of night that we were there he was in a super great mood lol
It takes quite a few minutes to get everything set up and filled out if you're doing the $1 startup deal, and I guess I'm not sure if you have the same process if you just decide to pay the monthly membership, but I'm curious if you have to have a checking account in order to become a member as well as startup trial membership

Auburn Planet Fitness has helped me through a separation, helped me thru some of thr hardest moments of tren motherhood. Helped me with my funk I had fallen into. I not only am I loyal here since i have I lost 30 lbs 4 pant sizes, gained 4 inches in my booty. But the staff and atmosphere here is 2nd to none. They care about the people who walk thru the doors. My teenage son went from overweight and miserable to getting fit and living himself. There people are not just employees they are family/friends they know your name and when they speak they are all so professional yet humble thoughtful caring people. The staff, and the members of Planet Fitness have all been very welcoming and pleasant. I am new to the gym experience and so far I really enjoy it. I like their motto of “no judgement” And so far I have seen that in action. There are quite a few people coming to the gym that are on the heavier side as I am, and I am never made to feel awkward about that. Planet fitness has a very comfortable atmosphere. Due to two joint replacements and a postop fall that severely injured my quad muscles, I started coming to planet fitness in order to rebuild mobility and increase muscle strength and use. If I lose a few pounds in the process, then that is a bonus! The Hydro massage beds are amazing and I like the fact that I can use tanning booths as well. Getting to the gym is not hard for me as I look forward to it. The hard part is knowing when I need to go home because I have so much fun!

Not very good at disclosing fees...keep an eye on your account...it's not 10 down ten dollars a month....it's. 10 plus start up 29 then yearly 40 plus ten per month. Also found a charge for $4. Randomly...took a week to get that back....shady. 11/15 follow up...tried to call corporate...phone call goes nowhere...manager won't call back...keeps chaning account...best advice pay 20$ and cancel at your Bank. When I called my bank they stated that it is very common for this place to continue to charge people..minors as well .

The gym is very organized and clean. Plenty of equipment/machines to go around and most of all lots of room. The machines also have scan codes that shows you a deminstation on how to use the equipment properly and safely. I've never had any problems with either staff or others that come to use the gym, overall I think this is a great gym especially for beginners getting into resistance training.

Staff couldn’t figure out how to charge for something and made us bounce around from register to register. The only reason we stopped in was to tan and had to wait 20 minutes then just let someone else go in when it was my appointment anyway. Location sucks don’t bother.

I really want to give a 5 star review. This place has given me purpose and for many more years to come. The 1 and only down side I have is how difficult it is to get on cables and Smith Machines during peak hours. The bike machines are rarely used by members and there's way too many of them. You guys should get rid of most of those and add more cables and Smith machines. Any regular will tell you those 2 things are most sought after. It's annoying enough to where I've hesitated on joining another gym, but the only thing really keeping me is the 24 hour availability. I hope to see some improvements in the near future.

Usually love coming here have been for a year. Tonight the (I believe) assistant manager was incredibly rude. In the past when the water fountain has had a broken sign on it (which I would have assumed meant a broken machine?) they club has offered each member a free water. The assistant tonight told my boyfriend he could not have said free water because I do not have a card on file. He huffed and puffed before offering the water for free at which point my boyfriend had already put it back. I went up to ask and grab a pad he handed me the pad with his back to me. I asked about the water and was met with an extreme defensive from him. I then told him they usually offer free waters in the past to which he replied the water fountain was not actually broken. He then told me that he was giving waters out earlier in the night but no longer felt like it. Seems like a weird way to manage a business. I’ve never ever had an issue with any other staff member or aspect of this club. I have previously worked as shift lead at pf and couldn’t imagine handling a situation the way he did. To every other member of the staff you all do amazing and are greatly appreciated!

I have to update my review! Wow, they fixed the things I mentioned! The bubble in floor was replaced with a new section, and it looks like all the showers got new heads and valves and the pressure in handicap shower is fantastic now. Nice work, PF Auburn, ME

I've been to this one before. It's definitely clean, and they have a bunch of the new digital exercise equipment. I saw a wide variety of people getting serious workouts on. Very nice, somewhat underused spa area. This club wins the prize for Best Lighting over Sinks. I ended up using the nice, big handicap shower and discovered the hot water doesn't work in that shower and water pressure in it was ticklish, tho sink faucets are great. Floor bubbling in front; watch your step.

I love this place, I think everyone is to quick to judge this location based off of other peoples experience. Now I would agree that the location is small, and between the hours of 4:30 PM- 8:30 pm. There is the most people there throw out the week. Yes sometimes it is a little annoying to have to wait but simply going up to someone and asking. Hey, are you almost done with this is the simple way to do things, I really like this gym as a staff try their hardest, and I’ve seen it firsthand as I am friends with most of the people who work here. It’s not the staffs fault that the equipment breaks/ not enough space/ or policies to the membership. I wish people would see that more. Now In my experience on the busy rushes, I talk to people I get to know people. During these hours, there’s a really nice Community of people who like to come and hang out and speak to each other, and I find it quite enjoyable. Staff is always nice on every shift when I come. If you have a question, most of the time staff can help. The only really big thing I have a problem with is the water fountain needing to have the filter change and I wish there was a bigger space in, but other than that this place is great. I really enjoy my membership and the place.

I like this gym. Staff are friendly, the bathroom and equipment are always clean, I generally go to this gym when it's not too busy so I never have to wait for equipment to use. There are a fair amount of teenage boys who populate the gym during peak hours which can be annoying but it's not really a big deal. This gym definitely stands by the "judgement free zone" motto, I've seen super jacked guys working out alongside regular folks, it's also very nice to see that there are always a lot of women working out. I'm in the process of becoming a NASM Certified Personal Trainer so I like to workout in gyms that are comfortable and inclusive, this gym absolutely fits that standard.

Shower was disgusting. Unclean and smelled bad. I had to rinse it out. Asked to use the massage chair. Told to wait in the lounge. She kept me waiting inthe lounge for 10 minutes before telling me I was not eligible for a massage. I understand that I'm not always eligible for one but to play middle school games was childish. The guys that work at night are super friendly and helpful. They are always cleaning the place spotless very good vibes. Wish they would change the filter in the water fountain. If you’re not gonna change it why would you put a light on it so we know you’re not changing it. Also, why is the water so warm kinda gross.
