I have been a regular at 202Strong for two years, and I love it! I try to go each day, which is pretty easy because there is a great selection of classes each day. The trainers/coaches and class participants are all the best! I now can safely lift heavy things, and see significant muscle, strength, and technique gains. My husband was so impressed (maybe jealous too??) that he started going with me about a year ago, and now he walks around the house flexing his muscles and feeling so healthy and strong. We are both VIP members, to take advantage of all the offerings. The lifting and HIIT class is a winning combo. Monday morning yoga is also a family favorite. And, our Favorite Friday Fix is the workout followed up a strength and stretching class - mmmm so good.

I joined 202Strong about 6 weeks ago. Super welcoming friendly folks, superb coaching and instruction, and the BEST workouts for fitness, flexibility, and fun! I had never weightlifted before, and was a bit (a lot!) intimidated and clumsy when I started, but 202Fitness coached me through good technique and safe lifting. I am now signed up for full VIP membership, and attend 5X per week. Special shoutout to the early morning instructors/ coaches - Jackie, Jeff, and Monica - and all the fun classmates like Tina that help make new comers feel like family. I came here after 10 years at a pre-dawn parking lot bootcamp that I loved; I never thought I would find anything so good again. But, 202Fitness is it, and I am hooked!

I LOVE this gym! I've tried Maddie, Jackie, Monica, Dave, Zahra, Caitlyn and Trina's classes and all of them are exceptional and consistent. The work outs are fiercely challenging and you will definitely get results. I appreciate the attention to detail in each class. The instructors are very engaged, encouraging and amazing at correcting form and offering modifications if need be. If you haven't tried a class here yet, you are missing out!!

The kids LOVE Kids Core on Monday nights. They look forward to it because Coach Dave makes it fun for them with lots of intense activity. They’re learning proper lifting techniques while focusing on safety and they feel a strong sense of accomplishment at the end of each class. From my viewpoint as a parent and a coach of youth wrestling and rugby, I can see significant improvement in strength and coordination in all of the kids as each session progresses. They have also made some good friends at Kids Core because of the team activities. Highly recommend.

This is a great workout and I love that it's 45 mins so I can do it on my lunch break. There are not many workout classes that focus on strength training which is important for me and these classes do a great job. Instructors are great and owner is very friendly. Highly recommend. I really love the vibe and the people I’ve found at 202 Strong, and that’s a credit to Maddie. I’ve done HIIT training elsewhere and what I like about 202 is it’s a tad less intense than what I’ve experienced. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t kick my a$$ lol. It’s just more welcoming and fun when everyone you’re working out with is smiling — at least until that final set, maybe 🤣. Bringing friends from my other exercise haunts and they’re quickly hooked too.

My nutritionist recommended strength training to compensate for the muscle loss that comes with aging. A neighbor had sung the praises of 202strong and I decided to give them a try. I started with 2 private sessions with Maddie, which were great. Then I jumped right into 202strong Signature Classes. I love the classes, which are a perfect mix of strength, flexibility, and aerobic training. It’s been 6 weeks since I started and I’ve taken classes with most of the coaches, who have all been outstanding. 202Strong has become an integral part of my fitness routine. I highly recommend 202Strong to all ages and levels of fitness.

This place is amazing! I would consider myself a beginner at fitness training and was intimidated at first but the team members are very friendly and assist with form so you do not get hurt. As a newbie to lifting, I really love 202strong. The classes are a mixture of all sorts of abilities and ages. Everyone, from the members to the trainers are incredibly supportive. Every trainer I've had has been so helpful in making sure my form is correct and that I have any modifications needed for old injuries or things that are hurting me. They also structure the class in such a way that I never feel called-out for needing a modification, as they show several different ways of doing certain exercises up front. I'm used to fitness classes being intimidating, but 202strong is legitimately fun. I look forward to seeing everyone's smiling face and to learning something new each class. The seven week cycles are structured for growth, meaning you practice the same set of strength exercises, which helps in practicing form and increasing weight, but the HIIT portion is always different, which keeps things fresh. Classes are small and capped at 15 people, so I've never felt crowded and the gym is kept super organized/clean. Very COVID safe with the door left open for fresh air/outdoor running when weather permits. It's honestly a grew value for the level of hands-on attention and help you receive. I would highly recommend.

Great workout especially for people who need to refresh their lifting form. A combination of HIIT cardio + resistance strength training using barbells and other equipment (kettlebells, dumbbells, etc). Most of all the environment is friendly and supportive. The coaches at 202Strong will meet you where you are and take you to the next level, whether you are an athlete in great shape or trying to get in shape. They will also meet you where you are whether you are in your 20’s or, like me, in your 60’s and beyond! It is really a welcoming place! I’ve learned so much about lifting weight that has helped me in my everyday life- like lifting my heavy carry on suitcase into the overhead bin of a plane. I enjoyed the 305 Dance class on Sunday morning, and Caitlyn is a fantastic dance instructor! The class is upbeat, has variety, and I especially appreciated that Caitlyn and the participants were all so welcoming and kind!

The class takes place in the gym, with an abundance of floor space. There isn't a mirror to follow, however, the neat lighting lets you follow your silhouettes on the wall! I'll be going again :)

I am typically a pretty fit person but since COVID, teleworking, kids at home and an overall “new normal,” I discovered with horror that I had back fat! I am active duty military and thankfully they cancelled both of our physical fitness tests this year however, I needed to get back in shape regardless. The day 202Strong reopened for small socially distanced classes, I reactivated my membership and after almost a month, I am so happy to say the back fat is diminishing!
Being active duty military, I need a “drill instructor” or “fitness instructor” standing in front of me telling me what do. These classes are perfect! They can be tailored to ANY level of fitness and the instructors are really knowledgeable and helpful about the modifications. The classes have all fitness levels of people so there is no need to feel self conscious. If you want to start, continue, or increase your fitness regime, this is the place!!!
They have online classes too!!
If you think membership is too expensive, consider what one night in a hospital costs. Being physically prepared for “life’s heavy lifts” keeps you out of the hospital, prevents injuries, and next to nutrition is the biggest factor of overall health and fitness!

The photo attached to this review shows my mom and my son playing the piano together.

I moved this Piano 24 hours ago with my neighbor. We moved it out of my house, across and down the street, and into his house, up and down a few steps. I am 37 years old and I could not have even lifted one end of a piano off the ground when I was 35, 30, 25, or 20. I had also not exercised much during the primary COVID-19 lockdown from April-June.

I spent a lot of time in the last 2 years prior to COVID-19 at 202Strong on Nebel Street. While there I did lose some weight, increased my numbers on the big 3 lifts, and made a lot of friends. While those things are great, and worthy goals, they did not help me as I sized up the piano yesterday morning. Instead, I thought about how I would safely lift and move the piano, lifting with my legs, stabilizing my core, and so on. I learned and practiced those things at 202Strong.

I was not sure I could safely move a Piano after 3 months of COVID-19 gym lockdown, but apparently I retained enough strength and knowledge to do so. That is the real value of 202Strong. Not bulging muscles (though you’ll get those), not weight loss (though you’ll accomplish that if you work as hard in the kitchen as you do in the gym) and definitely not numbers on the bar. At 202Strong I earned the ability and confidence to safely move heavy things around in my life as necessary. That survived 3 months outside the gym.

I waited 24 hours to write this to see how I felt a day later. I feel… fine, a bit like I did a 202Strong workout yesterday. :)

I joined 202's Strongline service for virtual workouts, and I couldn't be happier. For only $30/month, I get daily 30 minute workouts that leave me exhausted and sore. All of the virtual workouts are designed to be done at home (it helps if you have a dumbbell and an extra chair, but it's not necessary!). 202strong definitely makes working from home less stressful, and I'm very glad that I joined!

I've been doing Maddie's quarantine workouts for 9 or 10 weeks now and they are perfect for small spaces with little equipment and help keep me fit diluting this global pandemic, which also helps me keep going every day. Honestly incredible community!
From my first time stepping in the door almost 4 years ago I have felt welcomed and supported. As someone who has done fitness for most of his life, their are certain things I hope to see in a gym. 202 Strong has them all. There is enough signage, parking and visibility to get you there. Once you walk in there is a clear flow of where to sign in, change and warm up.

Maddie lead a very enthusiastically. From the warm up until the end of class she taught, modified movements for different level athletes and gave constructive feedback. The members were very welcoming and talked with me during and after class. I really enjoyed my hour at 202 Strong.

I’ve always wanted to learn to lift and have tried many other gyms and always felt intimidated. 202’s Girlstrong classes are a welcoming environment for women to work out and learn to lift weights. Caitlyn has taught all the classes I’ve taken so far and she’s great. She explains everything well, and breaks down the movements for those who have never done them before. She’s friendly yet pushes you further every class, and I love her playlists. I’m not in the best shape at the moment and this has been the first gym that I’ve actually felt welcome at. The other women in the classes are encouraging and I always leave feeling empowered and surprised at my own strength. On top of everything else the locker rooms are always clean, stocked with towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair elastics, tampons, they have a hair dyer and spray deodorant. If you’re looking for fitness classes that are effective yet affordable 202 Strong is the place for you!
