This gym is almost too good to be true. The owner is so willing to help people out, and the coaches and athletes are super friendly. First day I worked out they greeted me and treated me like I had been part of the crew forever workouts are programmed with intentionality focusing on various aspects of fitness and mobility. I was in town on 2 weeks of leave from active duty and dropped in at Revival. From the moment I walked in, everyone was welcoming and made me feel right at home. I dropped in visiting from out of town over fourth of July and I reached out a few weeks prior to make sure they were open over the holiday. Not only were they open they had multiple classes going on! I made it to 2 workouts and each workout was fun and engaging. Nice open space too (plenty of room even for larger classes). Revival is where it all began for me 10 years ago. I was nervous to try a completely new type of workout, but after just one class, I knew I was in the right place. Even though I’ve since moved away and now train at a different CrossFit gym, I always make a point to drop in when I’m back in town, because Revival is the gold standard I use to compare every other gym. Joining this CrossFit gym has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. I love the cross fit experience! Revival Fitness lives up to its very name. It revives the body and the mind. The coaches are eager to help you be the best you can be, and they are patient with you. The other members are encouraging, and supportive. I say if you're looking for great guidance, community, and support you're in the right place. Staying consistent is always key which generally is the hardest thing to do. However, the class schedule and other options available makes consistency issues a non-factor. I have had many gym life experiences and can say I wish I would have found this place sooner. It's an overall great place for your fitness goals. Try it out you won't regret it. :)

She was an excellent coach and made sure to show me the proper techniques and to correct my form when necessary. I walked into Revival about 1.5 months ago - deconditioned - after many years of failing to prioritize my physical health - and need for consistent, purposeful movement. As a result, I was intimidated by the total misperception of what I believed Crossfit to encompass. Prior to becoming a part of Revival’s community, I naively viewed CrossFit as a workout for the strongest, most elite, and intensely conditioned athletes — and only them. However, upon beginning this journey of self improvement, I quickly realized becoming a part of the Revival community is not only about being challenged to push out of the comfort zone; but also, being effectively supported to be the most elite version of yourself.

Over the course of the past several weeks, I’ve noted and appreciated the following strengths of Revival’s facility, community, and programming:

The gym itself is spacious and clean, with diverse equipment to support varying ability levels; members and staff are supportive and welcoming - alluding to a positive culture - instantly noticeable upon entry; the coaches provide ongoing and immediate feedback to support access to challenging, beneficial, and safe workouts - ensuring proper technique and movements for individual skill/ability levels (they’re also open to any questions you have along the way); class offerings are varied in regards to time as well as skills targeted - encouraging a wholesome development of techniques/agility/strength/endurance; the use of an online app allows access to updated information/workouts and serves as a means of tracking progress and interacting with fellow community members; the programming is purposeful, shared /modified weekly, and scaffolded (again, alluding to accessibility for all members)

I’m confident that with all of the expertise and support offered via Revival - as long as I show up and put the work in - I’ll continue to progress while humbly meeting myself exactly where I am in the present moment. I’m also confident that this will be the case for anyone who chooses to do the same as they walk into the gym - with the highest of recommendations - seeking an elite “revival!”

Went for single session. Clean designated areas to work out with more than enough equipment for everyone. I found out They have a check in app to keep sessions from over booking, but they were able to make a spot for me by calling in advance. The class went quick and I did not feel overwhelmed by workout as a novice CrossFit person. My mom loves going to this facility and there were also advanced members in the class, able to enjoy the same workout session. I’ll definitely be back. Staff and members were very welcoming.

Revival is a nice little box! I only dropped in for one class but the staff and members were welcoming. The only drawback for me was that the workout was almost too chill (2MOM 2xcleans for 6 min then rowing cal focused intervals 40-32-24-16-8). That being said, there is only so much time in a class and I’m not sure if other people found it challenging.
I would definitely head back for the people and to move my body!

The short: pretty good box with good programming that does not fall into the regular crossfit jokes that Glassman and Castro have perpetuated. Coaches seem to be well intentioned, but a sequence of bad experiences can really turn you off from a place.

A firm 1 star. The music is really bad 80% of the time. Zero input from the members doing the workout. 100% just whatever the coach is feeling…who isn’t doing the workout.

I have been debating writing this review for several months. I have reached out to Revival staff to get some clarification but was essentially stonewalled. I am attempting to write this anonymously, so I am not stigmatized by owners/staff/coaches/members.

The positives are clear at Revival. There is really good programming. A weekly document is sent out with every workout for all the class types including warmup, scaling, and targeted stimulus. The equipment (bars, weights, cardio machines etc) is pretty good. I think the space constraint limits having a few more bikes/skiergs so there will be times when the class is mostly full, but you can’t do the intended cardio portion because there are no more bikes (not really an issue). Another positive is the mentality/intentionality of the coaches towards the planned workouts. For the most part, the coaches know what they are doing. There have been instances where a (not new) coach has to ask a class participant how to do a movement/exercise which was weird to me.

The negatives are bit lengthier though. Good intentionality in the coaches does not excuse behavior or expressed opinion. Since I am paying them, I do expect a reasonable level of professionalism. Being told that your mentality and approach to working out does not align with a specific coach seems kind of beyond what you are paying them for. Being told your opinion is not valid or wanted because they do not know you and your workout experience seems even further out of bounds. Being told you need to do movements/stretches a certain way (even though you know it increases the risk of injury) just to satisfy their ego is not professional. Being aggressively approached as soon as I enter the box followed by aggressively being talked down to is plain hostile. Like I said, a few bad experiences in a short period of time can really sour your opinion of a place/group/person. After the experiences mentioned, there has been an overt change in the interaction of the three coaches with me. I have experienced within the last two weeks a coach being very excited and engaged with another member. As soon as that coach’s attention changes to me, their behavior becomes subdued and ambivalent.

A secondary, and less bothersome, issue relates to the general space. Being a cinderblock building, there is echo when talking. Some coaches take after the school of Ranger Carl from Parks or April Ludgate: literal shouting when you are standing right next to them or basically whispering when they are talking to the class and the music is up.

My last issue relates to one of the positives: the programming. The nature of crossfit seems to require proficiency in a broad range of skills/movement resulting in what I have found to be little progression in any one area or subarea. There have been seminars to learn/practice specific skills such as handstand, rowing, GHDs, rope climbing etc. But the occurrence is like one seminar every 2-3 months. This infrequency results in new members not being taught a skill and a big lack of time to practice. I hear at least once a week a coach says “if you haven’t done GHDs, you are not doing them today” regardless of if you can do them. Every coach I have heard mention Rhabdomyolysis always does this in relation to GHDs. Considering what Rhabdomyolysis is caused by, there is a serious lack of caution provided by every coach I have had at Revival regarding Rhabdomyolysis (ie higher repetition at lighter loads which is basically every MetCon I have done there).

Dave, Kyle and Taylor could not have a better place that I now get to call home. All three of them are amazing people who absolutely take pride in every aspect of Revival. I dropped in to support them for the In House games and luved the energy so much I tried it that following Monday. Since then I have yet to have or meet a coach that wasn't awesome. It makes perfect sense though that because Dave, Kyle and Taylor themselves are so great that their coaches and also their members would be too. The programming is also fantastic and it is kept so clean and organized! Seriously couldn't be happier to now be a part of the Revival family🙂

The trainers are very helpful. They are always willing to help you out and teach proper techniques. They have decent COVID protocols with smaller classes well spaced out and a good cleaning policy. The WODIFY app used to schedule classes is easy enough. Haven't had any issues seeing available spots and picking or changing times.

I wish I could give them 10 stars. Ive been to multiple CrossFit/functional fitness gyms and this is the only place I’ve ever stuck to (going on 4+ years now). The owners have bent over backwards to make the gym a true community and are incredibly accommodating. Anytime I message any of them I get a prompt reply. I absolutely love Revival Fitness. I have been going to Revival for about 1 and half years and I never looked back. I use to do the traditional weight lifting at Golds gym for about 4 years before being introduced to Revival Fitness. Their programming is A1 and I love the challenges they provide in every workout and I can’t say enough about the coaching it is like having multiple personal trainers at the gym. The coaches walk you through all the movements and monitor your progress as you go. I have actually gotten stronger and more mobile since coming here also I lost weight and slimmed down a little, I love the way I look now. Also what I appreciate the most is the family environment which makes it so easy for me to come here every day because I am always welcomed and comfortable here. In January, I was in the process of transferring from another CrossFit box. I was looking for another place that was closer commute from my work/and home. Also, I wanted to focus on getting better with my strength and several movements. This gym was the first place I tried and I didn’t need to look anywhere else. Everyone have been so welcoming since the day I started at this gym. The coaches are amazing: they take the time to make sure each person is doing the correct form. Revival fitness is THE best. I joined revival in September when I first moved to the state of MD and have loved every second of it.

Not only have I improved my endurance and stamina to keep up but I’ve also increased my strength, have had some personal records and keep me motivated to stay consistent with a workout regiment.

Kyle, Taylor and Dave are the most personable, and educated owners out there. They are super involved, take + teach classes themselves and truly enjoy what they are doing every single day. There are 3 C’s that come to mind when I think about Revival.

Communication is frequent and convenient. Every week you can expect the programming for the workouts in your email inbox and the team is also always sharing new fitness challenges, educational seminars and ways to truly create a community at the gym. Shout out to Kyle for kicking our butts in our workout plan but also teaching us fundamentals about our bodies/muscle groups and how to scale down exercises.

Community. Another word that represents Revival. Over the last 8 months I’ve truly gained a bunch of new friends/acquaintances and feel like I’m going to my home gym whenever I walk in there. Everyone is extremely friendly and it’s nice to see all levels participating in the classes.

Last but certainly it least, Clean. There’s nothing I love more than walking into a clean and organized gym. Revival is exactly that. Especially with the year we’ve had, the gym has made sure to follow proper covid protocols and has everyone in a great routine of wiping down equipment and keeping things in order. And of course a shoutout to Clean Queen Taylor for being on top of this!!

I am not one to willingly join a gym membership as I have been using the base gym (military background). COVID changed that ability and I have just been running. Boredom ensued a little and so I decided to try out Revival with the wife. First, Taylor is awesome and very clear on expectations and getting you motivated on your first three “intro” lessons. Second, the classes are great! Begin with a warmup, some strength building, and finishing strong with a good WOD all within the hour. If you are someone who wants to get a good sweat and feel accomplished at the end of every workout, join. If you want to feel challenged and am bored of running (this guy), join. If you like a good community of individuals who are encouraging and helpful, join. Bringing this back around to me against joining a gym, I probably will not go back, I do feel an extra sense of motivation by joining classes and like the extra push to work hard on every workout. This place is THE BOMB! I've been a member at Crofton CrossFit for over five years and have seen huge improvements in my strength, endurance and overall fitness. The coaching staff is fantastic...they excel at getting you to push yourself beyond your imaginary limits while remaining focused on your technique and safety. They have coached me to improved lifting numbers while also coaching me to my first sub-4 hour marathon.
The physical space is huge and the equipment is great. I travel all the time for work and have dropped in at over 60 boxes and this place is the best. The vibe here is wonderful regardless of your fitness level and the people are amazing.

I've been going to a regular "gym" for 3 years almost every day (lost a significant amount of weight, but never felt like I was improving myself). My arms were getting bigger and my endurance would get a little better, but the overall result was less than expected. My Fiancé decided we should try something different, so we stopped by "Crofton Crossfit" to see what it was all about...
It's about community and camaraderie. Not only does the staff actually care, but they are extremely knowledgeable and they all have multiple disciplines and backgrounds that are helpful at different times in your workout.
