It was a pleasure having David work with our son Jacob. After attending some of David’s group classes we decided that we would like to try private classes. Through evaluation David realized some of Jacob’s weaker areas and adjusted exercises accordingly. He is able to keep Jacob focused to achieve specific goals associated with each exercise and Jacob feels the sense of accomplishment when completed. We cannot wait to be able to schedule classes more regularly.

I am so glad I found David and Adaptive Exercise for my son. David provides my son with online one to one sessions once a week. He knows exactly how to motivate my son, keep him moving, and pushes him just enough to challenge him without making it too hard. He's definitely a pro at what he does! My couch potato teen actually looks forward to his weekly sessions. He's building muscle, increasing his stamina, and getting some much needed cardio all while having fun with David. I love it!

David's ability to connect with people on the spectrum elicits the most incredible response to the exercise routines. He utilizes several modalities so that everyone is successful. My son participated for years in the Autism Resource Center's Group Exercise sessions with David, so I've seen his ability to modify his approach to suit the needs of varying abilities and "styles". He uses spoken word, prompting the individuals to participate, visual cues through gestures and equipment that helps the person to be successful, such as dots for their place on the floor, footstep shapes to guide them through an exercise that includes movement handprint shapes for proper hand placement. He models each exercise first so that the individual knows what is expected and will guide those who need it through the motions involved until they are independent in that movement and exercise. He elicits each individual's best and keeps them engaged through praise and reinforcements, like high fives and pats on the back.
Covid meant that my son was inactive for 2 years and his weight ballooned to over 400 lbs, posing a health risk. When DDS provided funding for a self-directed program David was the 1st call I made. Ed is now working 1:1 with David and has a 1:1 aide who will use the exercise routines daily to help Ed lose weight, and rebuild his core strength and endurance.
If you've a child on the spectrum who needs to engage in physical activities David can provide that using evidence-based methods to improve your child's participation in healthy exercise.

David is amazing and his instructions pairing with the visual support tool works out really well with my son. It was so impressed that my son was able to follow David's instruction with minimal support from the Behavioral Staff on the first visit. My son usually requires a 2:1 support to keep him on a new task and transition to a new activity. He is very attentive and the directions from David is clear, slow with the gesture, visual support helps my son understand the expectation. I think I like the best from David is his teaching methodology with the blending therapies. I highly recommend this program to anyone who needs to find exercise for their special needs loved one. Thank you very much David for providing this excellent services.

David is amazing. My son had put on a lot of weight during the pandemic and was really out of shape. David has been working with him for over two months and it really shows. The weight is coming off slowly just due to the increased movement, and he is getting his stamina back. The program he has created for my son is very challenging, but so much fun. My son gets so excited every Monday for David to come over and "play" with him. David is not only fun, but professional, respectful and friendly. I cannot recommend David enough.

My son started with Adaptive Exercise and right from the starting point I could see that David knew what he was doing. The trainings are virtual for now but even the virtual exceeded my expectations. The session started promptly on time, the directions were stated clearly so my son would understand. The thing I like best was the positive reinforcement throughout the session. Best of all my son felt great about himself and I could see increased energy and self esteem after only two sessions. Thank you for providing this service!

My 15yr old son (ASD) just did David's class this past Saturday and it was awesome. The environment was very friendly and welcoming. The kids doing the class seemed to truly enjoy themselves and get a workout too. Each exercise is easily adaptable for all levels, which is nice. David is clear with directions and knows how to keep the kids focused and moving. I like how the parents can participate as well. Highly recommend trying a class.

We have had David come to our house for 6 weeks now and my daughter is a willingly participant. He makes the activities fun and he’s very calm and encouraging at the same time. Isabella enjoys knowing she can get breaks after some great exercise. She’s getting her cool down while she breaks so she’s doing so much more than she has ever done. I also am impressed with the small groups Adaptive Exercise offers for the children and young adults. I would highly recommend!

Adaptive Exercise is an amazing exercise/skills training company for individuals who have disabilities. Each exercise routine is adapted to fit the individuals needs and modified on each clients progress. David’s knowledge of ABA is evident in the way he creates programs to motivate his clients. The group classes are not only teaching individuals adaptive movements, but also targeting social skills development by having everyone work together. I absolutely recommend this company to anyone who has a child or adult with a disability looking to learn more functional movements and skills.

My 8 year old foster son is developmentally delayed, autistic, and non-verbal with an additional diagnosis of intellectual disability. David is working wonders with him. Charlie adores him and is so excited about exercise that we've purchased some of our own equipment. The improvement in his muscle tone, stability, and balance is remarkable. He's making significant strides, noticed by all. Thank you Dave!

David was extremely thorough in getting to know my son's history, strengths and challenges, and behavioral goals. He was willing to parter with my son's ABA team to coordinate supports that allow my son predictability, consistency, and thus, more success. David came well-prepared, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. He is professional and courteous, and the kids he works with are truly lucky to have him!

I have known David for many years. During this time I have seen him expand his knowledge and expertise from the field of speech language pathology and social skills, adaptive communication expert, ABA therapist to an amazing adaptive physical exercise trainer. He has it all! This might sound cliché. But it is true. He has all these skills and more.
I have seen his dedication first hand during our structured exercise classes at our school. He comes prepared to our sessions with equipment and planed routines. He uses top notch equipment. In his exercise routines he perfectly incorporates the equipment, the lesson, the child, and the staff that supports the child in the exercise routine, making it fun and meaningful. He uses the equipment to facilitate and adapt the exercise routine to the many levels of physical and mental development of our students. He is patient, motivated, and never gives up.
Usually our students have a hard time following instructions and engaging meaningfully in an exercise routine. But David is able to create the perfect environment in which student can do exercise and have fun at the same time. Thank you David you are the best!!!
