From the moment I walked through the doors I knew this was not just any “Yoga Studio”
It’s a community of warm, supporting members, teachers and staff, a place where you can practice and explore. You will find Vinyasa classes, Restorative, Iyengar, family yoga: everything to fit your needs.
Liz, the owner, is also a teacher and has created an environment where every instructor/class is different and special.
You will grow strong, be challenged, find peace and a Yoga home at Artemis as I did.

I am grateful to have found, and joined, Artemis Yoga!
As a monthly member, I can store my mat at the studio, which, simple as it sounds, was a game changer for me. If I forget a hair tie, there’s a dish at the front desk. These thoughtful details are indicative of the care that Liz and her team pour into Artemis.
When I arrive, I am greeted by name. When I leave, I always feel lighter and more grounded. This expansiveness and clarity stays with me the whole day.

Artemis is an amazing place! Great location, super clean rooms, and calming, friendly, helpful and welcoming staff.
I started with the two-week trial membership to get to know the studio, the teachers, and the staff. By my second class, I already knew I wanted to become a full member. No regrets.
What I love most is each teacher has their own style and way of leading the class. Even if you take the same class, it feels different depending on the teacher, which I think is a big plus. Highly recommend!

I have been a member at Artemis for almost a year. I am extremely happy that I found this studio. What I appreciate most about the studio is the yoga class offerings, the thoughtful schedule with multiple daily times slots for my preference (Iyengar) and the extremely talented and well educated yoga instructors. It is a bright, clean and friendly study with an awesome community of members, staff and teachers.

Every time I come in, I’m greeted by name with a smile by whoever’s at the front desk, and the other members are incredibly welcoming and take a real interest in each other. They offer classes at all different times throughout the day and week making it accessible to all and you can really tell the instructors are passionate, about yoga and ensuring everyone in class is safe and comfortable, and each practice is unique.

Artemis Yoga is my yoga home in Boston. I've practiced there since 2018 and I truly couldn't ask for a better, more welcoming studio. Liz is the kindest, most welcoming owner who truly wants everyone to feel like they have a space there and that they belong. The teachers are all fantastic and are so good about offering suggestions for poses, from ways to challenge yourself to offering modifications. They value and appreciate that everyone's practice looks different and everyone is on their own yoga journey. All the classes have a way of meeting you exactly where you're at.

I highly recommend the Flow, Restorative, and Yin classes. While they are all different from each other, I promise that they will all help you feel more grounded, centered, and better than when you first walked into the studio. There is a welcoming, inclusive community at Artemis that is hard to replicate -- starting from the friendly front desk staff who greet you by name as soon as you walk in the door. I'm so happy and proud that I've been able to experience classes here for so many years. Even when I've lived in other cities, I've been able to tune in through their simultaneous virtual offerings so I can stay connected to favorite teachers and classes.

Thank you, Liz & staff at Artemis Yoga, for providing me with a yoga home away from home, both in Boston and from other cities! I can't sing the praises about my favorite studio enough.

Artemis is a truly outstanding yoga studio. I have been a member here for about four months and have attended workshops and occasional classes here for years. It feels corny to say this, but Artemis genuinely supports my yoga practice.

The studio is clean, peaceful, comfortable, and well-appointed. They even have mat storage for monthly members.

The studio has classes and workshops in all the major yoga traditions: flow, Ashtanga, Iyengar, restorative etc. There is a full schedule of classes, as well as unusual workshop offerings like ball rolling and sound bath immersion and focused workshops like yoga for osteoporosis.

I participate primarily in the Iyengar program. The studio has some of the best and most expert Iyengar teachers in the Boston area and offers two Iyengar classes most days of the week at a variety of levels at convenient times.

Most of the in person classes are also available on Zoom. If you miss an online class the studio will send a link a recording of the class good for a week. This makes it really easy to maintain a regular practice when traveling or around a busy schedule.

The atmosphere at Artemis is relaxed and genuinely friendly. The front desk staff gets to know each student and greets everyone by name. The classes are small enough for the faculty to get to know each student and offer helpful adjustments and feedback. The owner and the community are quite friendly as well. The teachers seem well supported by the management of the studio.

The neighborhood is great. There is ample street parking, a nearby Star Market, CVS, and hardware store across in case you want to combine class and errands.

If you're looking for a studio that feels like home every time you go to class - this is the one! What a gem. So many great teachers, classes offered to accommodate all kinds of working schedules, and just a great feel to their two studios - know what I mean? For the Gen Zer's out there, great vibes, on every level. They also have a lot of cool workshops on offer throughout the year that have been a great opportunity to learn things outside of the 60-75 minute class frame. I do the unlimited monthly plan and go at least 5 times a week so if you can't take my word for it...truly the best studio I've ever been a part of.

I’ve been practicing ashtanga yoga on and off for 20+ years. But, over the years my home practice started slipping lower on my priority list. In 2023, I had some big life changes - new career, another kid off to college - and it was all making me feel really untethered. I realized I needed to get back on the mat and needed in person classes for the accountability. I went to Artemis, and immediately found what I needed. Every teacher is unique in their offering but they all give you an amazing, masterful yoga experience that matches the level of challenge right for you. The flow classes will leave you limber and sweaty, and the early morning Mysore ashtanga and led primary series are absolute treasures to have available, with incredibly knowledgeable and experienced instructors. And Katherine taught me how to finally get over my DECADES long handstand/forearm stands mental block. I feel stronger, more centered, and most importantly I found my breath and feel GROUNDED again. Highly recommend all the class offerings available here, regardless of the level or style you practice. Gold-standard studio. Thanks Artemis!!

I really love it here! I wish I'd discovered yoga the way it's taught here by their wonderful staff years ago. Everyone is very kind and welcoming, and I'm impressed by how well-run the classes are to fit their wide array of experience within their student body. I'm a generally strong/athletic person and I still found the classes to be hugely strengthening for parts of my body that I already considered pretty strong, like my shoulders and core. I've also had lots of issues with mobility and back pain from years of higher impact/intensity sports and classes here made a huge difference after 1-2 classes per week for a month.

Artemis Yoga Studio fosters such a beautifully welcoming atmosphere and community. I did a 2-week newcomer pass to try to incorporate yoga practice into my regular routine, and I was so moved by my experience at Artemis that I ended up signing on for the membership afterwards. The positive impact that these past two weeks have had on my life is immense, and I'm so grateful that I tried it out and can continue being a part of this community. I felt challenged to try new things, but also safe to modify as needed depending on how I felt each day that I arrived on the mat for class.

There is a wide variety of teachers with different styles and difficulty levels, but every one of them shared common factors which I think define Artemis: openness for all to arrive as they are, modifications to make yoga accessible for everyone, and creating a safe, nourishing space to practice. I particularly loved the classes of Gloria, Einat, and Alex. The studio space is spotless and well-equipped with yoga props for all to use.
The front desk staff is knowledgeable, warm, friendly, and accommodating. The owner, Liz, is fantastic - I truly commend her for creating such a beautiful community in Watertown.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you! Couldn't recommend this studio more highly <3

I've had a great experience at Artemis Yoga. I am out of shape and rather inflexible. However, past experience had taught me how valuable Yoga can be in maintaining a health(ier) body and lifestyle. The classes and instructors (and many other students) are no joke, but in each one I felt supported in taking whatever rest breaks I needed, or in making whatever modifications necessary to accommodate my true lack of Yoga skills. This is a great addition to the Watertown/Belmont/Cambridge community.

I've been going to Artemis Yoga for about two months now. Being a newcomer to yoga, I didn't know quite what to expect save the articles I've read and anecdotes I've heard from friends over the years. The studio was immediately welcoming in terms of physical layout and atmosphere, general vibe, teaching practices, and overall communication.

All of the yoga philosophies, traditions, styles, and poses that I've been exposed to thus far (which are all new to me), are presented honestly, effectively, and openly, as far as I can tell being a beginner. The choice is up to us yogis (practitioners) to decide what works for us at any given moment, day, week, or into the future. The teachers are very accommodating, understanding, supportive, and give you the right kinds of nudges, mentally or physically, when you may need, want, or ask for them.

I originally started with the Newcomers Two Week Pass for $49 to see what it was all about. The trial period went very well, so I bought the Flexible 4-Pack of 4 classes per month for $75. I then quickly determined into my first month that one class a week was not even close to enough yoga for me given how beneficial it has and continues to be, so without much hesitation I decided to purchase the Monthly Unlimited Pass for $140.

This is a fantastic studio with wonderful teachers and a great community of beginner, intermediate, and advanced yoga practitioners. I would highly recommend it to anyone wherever you are in life, mentally or physically.

I've been attending Artemis yoga for years and have loved every moment. I was in search of a community yoga studio with smallish classes and no heated rooms. Artemis is it! I've taken classes with most of the teachers, but I'm a die hard for Alex Amorosi's flow with meditation. His classes have helped me move through immense grief, improved my neck/back pain, and support my wind down from a week of work. Einat's classes push my practice to a new level (when I'm up for it haha). I've been coming to Artemis for 3 1/2 years. As a man in his late 60s (now early 70s), it took a little courage to walk into a milieu where I'd be on the lower end of flexibility and the higher end of age. But I had practiced Iyengar casually on and off for 14 years, and I wanted to have a structure to continue. From the moment I walked in and my first contact with Liz Padula, Artemis has been a welcoming, safe, and highly professional environment, and inclusive of all genders and body types. I take Iyengar classes weekly with three different instructors, and they are each well certified and excellent. The Iyengar approach allows you to practice where you are, given your structural issues, and the instruction takes who you are into consideration, with personalized attention to your particular needs. The intro rate is great. Come to the studio and give it a try!

If you are looking for a yoga studio that is welcoming, has a sense of community, is accessible for folks of all levels, is very non-judgmental, and where teachers are willing to answer questions and work with you to get to the next step in your practice, Artemis is the best. I started taking classes here the very first week they opened and have taken about 250 classes. I am new to yoga, but I have found the right place to start!

Artemis Yoga has a wide selection of real-time visio classes for all levels of yoga practitioners. Choosing Artemis Yoga is the right step for challenging yourself, finding balance and sharing a wonderful experience together.

After having had classes with 4 different instructors, I can say that they are excellent. Although each instructor has her/his own personality, they seem to share a philosophical and emotional bond. The owner of the business knows her business and her instructors. Good instructors go where there is good management!

One final note, my young son has also gotten into doing yoga. He loves his class on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am E.S.T. There is also a Sunday evening class for his age range (10 and under) specifically designed to help prepare the body and mind for a good night's sleep.

Update

My last review was 1/13/17, so 3 years later, here I am again to follow up. I honestly don't know where to start, so this might be a bit of a run-on sentence!

Long/short. I knew for years that I wanted to try yoga. To like it enough to have it become part of my lifestyle. I had no idea, no freaking idea, that it would become one of THE most important parts of my life! Yoga to me has become parallel to drinking water every day. I can't live without it.

I know100% that this profound transformation is because of Artemis, the owner, Liz Padula, and the teachers. For me, Alex Amorosi stands head and shoulders above (literally and figuratively). His personality, teaching, wisdom, honesty, kindness, and genuineness is rolled up in his 6'5" amazingness! I will never find the appropriate words of gratitude for the gift he bestows on me 3 times a week (plus workshops) and on others. Alex is, in a word, a gift!

And to be very fair, the other teachers are incredible! I just wish I could take classes twice a day!! Tracy, Amanda, Liz Reiser, Sue G. Rahel, JoAnne,etc...all fantastic! And the rest, I will have to trust are incredible, too!

Liz, you have redefined what a true yoga studio should be. And it's because of you that you will continue to thrive and succeed for many, many, many years to come!

I can't say enough good things about Artemis Yoga but I'll try. Starting with Liz Padula. She is just a godsend to anyone starting yoga for the first time and people that have been at it for a while. She's smart, funny, engaging, wise, calm and just cares so much about her studio, her instructors and most importantly the yogis that take her class! (Yay..I'm a yogi!).

Speaking of the teachers. Damn!! As I told her myself, not a dud in the bunch. The thing that really stands out with the different classes is the level of care and patience that goes into their teaching. It can be very intimidating if you're new and don't really know what a pose means or how to execute it. But they talk you through each step with such care while not slowing things down for the more experienced. That's quite a feat.

The studio itself is clean and bright and open and airy. Top notch props from the blankets to the bolsters!!

They have an amazing new customer deal. $29 for 30 days unlimited. I'm at the end of mine, so I just joined as a month to month member!

Yay Artemis!! I think I'm in love....

Joining Artemis Yoga is the best thing I've done for myself in years! A health problem had cost me my muscle mass and made most forms of exercise impossible. I tried many things to recover my strength, including joining a gym, swimming and physical therapy all without benefit. Running out of ideas, I decided to try Iyengar yoga at Artemis Yoga in Watertown, MA and am so glad I did! The studio is extremely welcoming and the instructors expertly trained in Iyengar yoga and philosophy. I took fundamental yoga or yoga 1 classes with Rahel Wasserfall weekly and always felt challenged but without fear of injury. My strength, endurance and confidence gradually returned and now, a year and a half later, I'm able to do all I need to do physically and with a much improved attitude!

Artemis yoga studio is amazing. I truly enjoy attending class since they have a large range of different classes from beginner to advanced. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The studio itself is clean, organized, plenty of parking, lockers, and a shower if needed. I would recommend Artemis to anyone that’s New to yoga or to anyone that’s ready for a new challenge.

practice at this great place on Mt Auburn Street right near the new CVS in Coolidge Sq. Watertown - Artemis Yoga.

I Love the place (light, airy and immaculate), the instructors (too good for words),
Liz Padula - owner/instructor (genuine, warm encouraging, talented); many options for classes (are amazing) and attendees bring positive energy - at any level of their practice.

I was referred to Artemis by a neurologist to address an ailment (or 2) - and she encouraged me to try Restorative Yoga. Well this was the best advice I had received in a long time and the absolute best choice I have made this past year for my well being. Artemis Yoga has been and continues to be a place to enhance my strength and quiet my mind's chit chat.

Practicing at Artemis Yoga has helped to also clear some of the mud that sometimes clouds up perspective - and this studio is a place of calming and warm receptivity. I'm thankful for my choice to join Artemis Yoga and for the opportunity the studio and my practice offers me and for the gift and benefits I continue to receive " on and off the mat".

And for those you (us) who think and feel "I can't do this", "I will feel silly" "I won't be as good as others" - you will be surprised at the confidence and motivation you (we) will gain with your practice who are led by these really effective instructors. Each have their own special approach, each bring something similar AND offer their own signature gems into the space of practice. I expect you will immediately appreciate these mindful professionals and more importantly appreciate yourself as a result of your new found knowledge and experience that "I can do yoga, and where I am now - is just right".

And of course there are long time highly experienced attendees who have practiced for years. There are people at all ends of the spectrum - and my experience is that tone and attitude of anyone and atmosphere of the studio is without any competition or the slightest bit of exclusion.

For me Artemis Yoga has been a place to free myself without judgement and receive the gift of acceptance - from myself,

Really well managed and new, clean studio. All mats and other props are free to borrow. I tried the newcomer pass and thought Shari Golden, Alex Amorosi, and Liz Reiser were great! Try a class with Billy Gamble on Friday followed by Liz Reiser and it will kick your butt and then completely relax you :) Highly recommend.

I highly recommend Artemis Yoga to any and all. The environment is welcoming, light, open and peaceful with good-sized rooms for yoga practice and personal storage space. There is a full range of classes and times offered, from level one and two flow to Iyengar, to yoga for athletes and rope courses, etc throughout the day. All of the teachers I have had the pleasure to know there are happy to help you align into the yoga positions properly - as needed and if help is wanted - and all are incredibly knowledgable and friendly. My interest and ability in yoga have increased exponentially since finding Artemis Yoga. Namaste.

Artemis is a wonderful yoga studio. All of the team-members are incredibly nice and genuinely care about you as a member of the community. The teachers remember your name and limitations and always seek to help you expand your practice. I was actually brand-new to yoga when I walked in for the first time and couldn't be happier that I chose Artemis. It's very welcoming and approachable for new students, and also fits well for intermediate and advanced practitioners.
There is a solid mix of classes, mostly flow with some iyengar or restorative options. I've done lots of classes with Mary, Caitriona, Cathleen, & Natalie and also a fair number with Alex, Erin, Tracy, & Meghann and every single one of them I would recommend! Liz, the studio owner and a teacher, is an absolute sweetheart and will welcome you with open arms from day one.
The studio also has great amenities, with 2 classrooms, 3 restrooms, a water fountain, and free mat/towel usage provided. There is free 1 hr parking on the side-streets across the road, as well as a lot of metered (25cents/30mins) behind the studio.
Overall, a great place to practice yoga!

The first time I walked through the doors at Artemis Yoga, I felt nervous and hopeful. Nervous, because I had only ever dabbled in practicing yoga with varying results. I am a long distance runner and had used yoga (i.e. YouTube yoga videos in my bedroom) to "force" my muscles to stretch out after a long run. After a particularly physically challenging race this Fall, I asked a friend if they would take a yoga class with me— my body needed something active that wasn't running. Low and behold, he was a monthly member of Artemis! He was eager to get me to a class (and used one of his free guest passes, just one of the many perks that comes with a monthly pass!) and now I know why.

Artemis Yoga is THE place to practice yoga. The community, the classes, the teachers... I thought I'd take a few classes, loosen up, and then hit the roads again. Now, nearly 6 months later, I'm happily still here (and my running is better than ever!)!

--> First off, the Introductory Pass special is a no-brainer. One month of UNLIMITED YOGA for less than $30?! Trust me: this is a low risk, high reward situation.

THE COMMUNITY:
- Everyone is so nice and so friendly. There is always someone at the desk to greet you with a smile (and they give you a tour of the space your first time there). AND, they started to remember my name after only a few classes... it's the little things!
- Liz, the owner, is fantastic. She is wildly knowledgeable and committed to making Artemis Yoga a welcoming environment. There is an actual suggestion box in the lobby and she really reads what people write!
- There are two beautiful practice spaces that always seem to be the absolute perfect temperature. It's free to borrow mats/blocks/straps/etc. and everything is kept very clean.

THE CLASSES/TEACHERS:
- Something for everyone! The variety is amazing. Different levels, different times of day, offerings 7 days a week. It feels like new classes are added regularly and the variety of workshops is impressive.
- The team of teachers here is one of the main reasons I became a monthly member. While each one has their own style and personality that they bring to the practice, one thing is consistent throughout the entire team: they are all exceptionally well trained, knowledgeable, and passionate. Balancing on your head is kinda scary the first (...or every...) time you do it-- but I trust every single teacher at Artemis to help me get there safely!
*Mary's 6am Level 1/2 Flow on Wednesdays is one of my favorites, highly recommended!

Note about parking: I've never had an issue parking. When I go for early morning classes, I park right in front because the meters aren't on yet. Otherwise, there's free parking on the side streets and plenty of metered parking, too.

Whether you're a:
-seasoned yogi
-someone who, like me, wasn't sure yoga was for you
-somewhere in between...

Artemis Yoga is where it's at. The difference in my body and my mind are more than I ever could have imagined possible the first time I walked through the door.

A welcoming yoga community in the upcoming East Watertown Coolidge Square neighborhood. The facility is lovely – bright, clean, soothing colors, quality sound system, variety of prompts, and a place to keep members’ mats. Parking is never a hassle. When I first joined shortly after the studio opened, I knew little about yoga and even the most basic classes were a struggle for me. Persistence is key and teachers are very supportive and engaging, taking the time to explain the poses and helping modify poses according to one’s aches. Now I’ve moved beyond basics and getting into level two. Classes are offered at many levels and convenient times, as early as 6am and the latest 7pm. The Friday ropes class is lots of fun in a smaller group, usually taught by the owner Liz, and weekends bring various workshops focused on like headstands and back pain, which have a slightly higher price but are well worth it. Artemis is a great addition to the community and a kind of a place one must give a try.

I have been practicing yoga at Artemis for over a year. I love the variety of classes they provide. All abilities happily coexisit there. They have classes at times that are very convenient for working people. It's also a supportive body positive environment. I'm always pleased that I seem to meet all different kinds of people there. Liz, the owner, is great and really cares about the experience of the people who practice there. Free classes are often offered to help bring in the community. Meditation classes and other mind/body education is available in addition to yoga. I can't think of enough good things to say. I love Artemis!
