I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with this gym. After nearly three weeks of trying to speak with the general manager about a potential family membership, I was repeatedly given the runaround. Staff first told me I should speak with the GM for those types of inquiries, and though I left my number and called multiple times, I was never reached out to. Finally, I called when she was supposedly on site, and the floor manager didn't want to connect me because "they'd explored this in the past and it wasn't profitable for their gym." I explained I'd been trying for almost a month to get in touch with her at the recommendation of other staff/management, but when I finally did reach her, she was dismissive, rude, and interrupted me mid-sentence.

I calmly explained my interest in joining with my husband and offered a constructive suggestion for a membership option that could benefit both us and the gym. Instead of engaging in a respectful conversation, the GM snapped at me and sarcastically suggested I “go to Planet Fitness down the road” — which is not even walkable from my home.

This kind of customer service is unacceptable. The gym is often empty, and yet they seem unwilling to consider feedback or adapt policies that could attract more members. I hope they reconsider how they treat prospective clients in the future.

I was a member for almost 3 years.
Summary: they make it very difficult to quit if you're not in person. I HAVEN'T USED THIS GYM IN 9 MONTHS and they sent collections after me even though I called them almost monthly to quit!! I would call them once I saw it still being debited from my bank account. That's over $450 they received from me for no reason and they still sent me to collections. VERY GREEDY

I moved to Ohio in August and didn't have the chance to walk there and quit in person. I called them multiple times to quit my membership. The people who answered the phone were slightly rude and very evasive when I told them I wanted to quit. They are worse than Planet Fitness at dropping your membership in my experience. You can't confirm my identity over the phone but my bank can?! You can see that I haven't used the gym in many months...

I have not used the gym since July and they continued to charge my debit card monthly fees up through April (even after calling to quit).
WHY would you continue to charge people after they've asked to quit and have not used the gym for 9 months!? It's very shady, greedy, and disrespectful. I am receiving calls from collections regarding my membership that I HAVEN'T USED IN 9 MONTHS.

What more could you ask for from your local gym? Tons of equipment, reasonable membership fee, clean and well maintained, and well located for east Arlington/north Cambridge/west Medford. Anything beyond that is just gravy.

I have absolutely loved coming to assembly sports club. From my first interaction with Mary to my last interaction with Julie they have only been the most kind and supportive staff members. The facility is clean, kept and has a wonderful no judgment vibe. There’s always an associate around to ask any questions about the equipment. Overall I suggest it to everyone I meet!

Was interested in joining, but it was so hot and humid in there! And it's the middle of winter, how hard could it be to dry it out and cool it off a little? If this changes I would still be interested, as it's a good location.

Very rude front desk service. I asked for a tour and she insisted I do it myself… even though I did not know where I was going. I also asked if I could use the bathroom and she told me to find it myself. Gym is big with good equipment but service is poor.

This place is perfect! A lot of new equipment and nice and clean. But the reason I had to write this review is because of the desk help Bridget. Always has a smile and very kind. She is the best and was the icing on the cake to my experience here. Unfortunately I had a baby and will have to switch to a gym with child care. But thank you again for all the help!

I applied through the website for a 30 day trial, and my application was received and confirmed by e-mail a couple of hours later. I went the following day during business hours and the front desk manager denied me the 30 day trial, after I asked for what reason they needed my credit card or checking account for a trial. In any moment I altered my voice tone although the front desk manager was kind of aggressive to me, but that is subjective so it is not a big deal, I guess. Anyways, it was suppose to be a 30 day trial, and they have my name, last name, e-mail, phone-number, a copy of my real state ID, which seems a lot of data for a trial, right? Her reason to deny the 30 day trial was that I mentioned that I was going to leave in July, but she said "they need my credit card / checking account to enroll me after the 30 days". She added: "the promo is not for people who are not going to enroll after 30 days, is only for people who are going to enroll only". I told her, "I couldn't find that information on the website". She added: "I can give you a one day pass, but not 30 days trial, because you are going to leave in July, right?" So I replied, in all my honesty, "yes, some time in July, I don't know yet,.. so what if I leave mid or end July I cannot use my 30 day trial either?" At this point she had put away the forms to collect my credit card information, did not accepted to add my credit card / checking information, she offered me to use the gym for that moment if I wanted. I did not understand, I had to ask where the locker rooms was, I received directions, no one offered me a tour of the gym, or anything else.

I left two starts (instead of one) because overall the gym is fine and the equipment is up-to-date. Since I cannot try other services, because I have been denied the 30 day trial, I cannot speak about them. The space is quite limited, equipment is very close, no space between machines, so you feel the person working out next to you in either the cardio or the lifting areas. I would recommend going off peak hours. I went at 7 am, around 15 people were exercising, I didn't have to wait that much but popular machines got crowded and some people did wait. I left at 8.45 am it was definitely starting to get full.

The locker room is well lit, it was early morning so it was nearly empty, with plenty of space, I don't know later in the day. One of the bathrooms was dirty when I went back to the locker room after my workout, which was unpleasant.

I wanted to include a good review to counter a lot of the negativity I see here that doesn’t jive with my experience. I’ve been going to this gym for the entire 3 years I’ve been living in this area and overall it’s been great.

The membership fee is reasonable compared to every other gym in the area (except for maybe planet fitness but the quality here is much higher) and I’ve never had issues working with the staff to pause or cancel for certain stints.

There’s tons of equipment, especially after the expansion, so I almost never have trouble being able to complete my routine without having to wait for someone. It may help that I go early mornings which seem to be the quieter hours but it’s a gym — if you go peak hours you should expect it to be more crowded. Most of the equipment is very new and nice and they have a large variety. There was a short period before the expansion finished where they had a ton of extra equipment so they compressed it all together in the existing space but that’s been remedied.

I can’t comment on the classes cause I’ve never taken them. The locker rooms are nice. And to everyone commenting about them playing right wing news stations, they have like 50 tvs and everything you can imagine, chill out and don’t look at the tv.

Ultimately I’d recommend this gym and think it’s a great option in an area that really feels like it’s lacking options for traditional gyms.

I have updated my review, so you can see my concerns below. Management met with me and explained that I can share my membership with a family member. This is a place where I plan to stay for a long time. I love it.

old comment : every summer I travel to Europe for vacation ( 2 months ) and I can not share my membership with my family members ( husband ) for this time. I have to cancel my membership. During the summer and from September start again. It's not comfortable for loyal customers like me. Management needs to be more specific

Switched gyms because I wanted a gym with a sauna but I enjoyed this gym. I went after work and could get a squat rack pretty quickly, dumbbells only went up to 80 but like for 95% of what you need that’s plenty. Lotta benches, much bigger than the gym I switched to. Gonna miss the people ❤️🫡

Extraordinarily welcoming atmosphere - from the moment you walk in, till the end of your workout... you'll feel beyond satisfied! Heath is Wealth! Impressive amenities, super friendly staff, newest/well maintained equipment and overall a positive vibe throughout this club. I highly recommend this club to anyone in the Arlington & Cambridge areas. Membership rates are more than reasonable, in comparison to other area clubs with far less to offer. They're always updating the club, and adding new extras: like the recently added new beautiful seating area, and Farmers Fridge for members to enjoy.

The facilities are decent and staff are wonderful, but they are so inconsistent with their hours that I will be looking for another gym. It’s a shame since I live around the corner, but randomly being closed in the morning, on top of closing at 5pm every weekend, makes it too difficult to achieve my fitness goals.

Good deal for the money, in my opinion. The expansion helped a ton with alleviating a packed house. Lots of equipment, even at its busiest there's rarely a wait for anything.

4 stars because some of the Hoist equipment is just poorly designed. The benches and hack squat, in particular make no sense.

I also think the use of space could be rethought a bit. There are a half dozen different machines that are solely for rows. Same thing with machines solely for bicep curls or leg extensions. Meanwhile there's no lateral raise machine, high row or lat pullover, pendulum squat, etc...

Last, I really wish management would replace the spray/paper towels with cleaning wipes. Cleanliness is important in a gym environment, and there's no shot moistening a paper towel to wipe down an entire machine is getting it properly disinfected.

To preface, I like this gym. I'd recommend to others in the area. The place is cleaned just about daily, nice staff.

4/5 due to the fact there's routine maintenance that's being missed. Most of the free weight equipment feels/is loose/missing important hardware. There have been multiple times Ive found hardware on the floor, or loose seats, benches. I hope this gets addressed before someone gets hurt.

I have been a member of Assembly Sports Club since December of 2022. I'm coming from a different gym which was in the central square area of cambridge. I have to say that my experience at Assembly Sports Club has been nothing less than excellent. The place is very close to wear I work, it's very clean, quiet and the staff is very friendly. I have even had a chance to meet the owner and he's a really down to earth guy, ( SHOUT OUT TO HIM). There's plenty of space now that there is a second room to workout in also. So if you are ever in the Arlington area, I would suggest for all that want to come out and check out Assembly Sports Club.

I had a troubling incident of bullying during the week of August 24th. I was accosted by a South Asian man in his 20s who demanded I get off a machine so he can use it. He even held an exercise pole in a manner that felt threatening. He even followed me into the bathroom to argue the issue.

It was a "micro-aggression" experience that felt motivated by issues of race and age. Which is to say that the young man felt entitled to treat a Black man of senior age with disrespect - something he would not presume to do with a white man, woman, or a fit young person.

I hope the incident is not reflective of a broader sentiment of entitlement in the culture of the gym? People who value a gym culture of respect & amity as much as modern equipment may want to think on it.

I’ve been going to gyms for many years, and this gym is far and away the best. I could actually attend an area college gym for free, but I’d rather pay to go to Assembly.

Unlike some of those gym chains, all equipment at Assembly works, and there’s a ton of it now that they’ve expanded the workout area. I’ve never been there when it’s been too crowded to workout.

The locker room area is immaculate, the staff are super-friendly, the hours are great, and there’s plenty of parking for both bikes and cars. You can tell that the owner of the gym really cares about his place. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

The recent expansion has been great, although I would love to see a greater variety of machines provided. This is a busy gym and borderline unusable during peak times. The machines are packed in too tight. I have never seen weights more unorganized than at this gym.

As others have said, this gym is always warm. During the winter, the humidity is quite stifling. The walls, windows, mirrors, and machines are all fogged over and dripping with condensation.

This is not the best gym I have ever been to however the value and convenience for me greatly outweigh the cons.

Expansion is great, updates to 5 star
——

This gym is clean and new, but there’s a few major items holding it back. Firstly, it is EXTREMELY hot and humid. You’ll start sweating immediately when walking in, even before warming up at all. This rises to being borderline dangerous when working heavy sets.

Despite being new the equipment selection feels oddly dated relative to modern programming. The only cable machine is a cable crossover that’s always occupied, due to being the only cable. There’s nowhere dedicated to hip thrusting/glute bridges, and no empty floor space to make one either. There are only two racks for now and a small hack squat without back/shoulder support, and no v squat/pendulum squat/similar so fitting in a squat type movement pattern is quite difficult even during quiet hours. It is nice that there’s a trap bar, and gymnastic/PT style equipment for warming up like Swedish bars.

I’m hoping these issues will be improved once the delayed expansion opens, plus reduced crowding. Location is convenient and walkable. Day attendants are friendly.

Probably fine for most, but the Hoist equipment and equipment layout are horrible.

20+ years experience in gyms at a high level, I joined ASC after herniating a lumbar disc and needing access to basic machines and stairs as I could do very little spinal loading but did not want to atrophy through physical therapy, so free weights were temporarily not an option. I was very disappointed to find the equipment this place offers. Everything has massive handles, poor ROM, and no static stability. Hoist is gym equipment that moonlights as an over encumbered rollercoaster. Maybe this stuff appeals to complete novices, but its very gimmicky and ineffective at what I need -- to isolate a muscle.

Additionally, I docked another point because the general layout is poorly designed and they blast Fox news on massive TVs.

Small and cramped gym with everyone on top of each other. I would hate to see what it looks like during peak hours.

They are expanding soon but that expansion includes a hair salon and a nail salon (why?!) so it remains to be seen how much new equipment there will be.

Also no bumper plates. Only two squat racks but not many people use them so usually at least one is free.

Don't forget your water bottle; the water fountain looks moldy

Agree with some of the other more recent reviews on here; it is not a super efficient use of space and somewhat of a gym going through an identity crisis. Haphazard strength items that seem to cater to no one in specific and are a bit out of place (tire, multiple punching bags, etc). They take away space from other standard machines/racks that are slammed during busy periods. But at the same time, the gym does little else to make it feel useful for “serious lifters,” so difficult to gage what clientele this gym is for.

Minimal parking, choice of music is off, and treadmills/cardio machines crammed directly on top of each other, and most of all it is EXTREMELY HOT. The walls were literally sweating by the cardio machines due to the excessive humidity in the gym. Good for water loss, bad for comfort.

I cannot see how this is an upgrade over the Assembly SC location and unfortunately looks to be very overcrowded at peak times due to the merge. Decent price but I cannot seem to find many “improvements” I was promised this consolidation of gyms would bring

I was a member of Assembly sports club for a month and a half, I was a fan of the location and low foot traffic. About two months in, I heard they are moving, which really sucked because Id have to once again find a new gym.

Long story short, when I tried to cancel, they charged me for two additional months and the person at the front desk put the reasoning for my cancellation being “not using my membership”, when I repeatedly told her I was leaving because of them moving, seemed like an underhand way to cover themselves…

Talk about a gym stuck in the past! Aka your grannies favorite gym! Just moved from NY and decided to try this place out for 30 days as part of their trial.

Gyms want to make you feel energetic and vibrant. I don’t know how many 80s hits classics I can take anymore. They need to update their radio system. The trainers are young but some questionable choices representing the gym. I noticed everything behind the desk was handwritten for the employees. In the 21st century we have systems for that.

I also noticed they have a bunch of useless equipment laying around such as a trampoline? A half tire in the middle of the gym and one trap bar that takes up SO much room for a place that is already so small. Dude, how many punching bags are you going to have hanging there? Only a handful of people use them.

Also a blood pressure machine (why?) just sitting there. We’re not at the doctor’s office.

The most irritating thing is the fact that the dumbbells aren’t labeled and have to go on a hunt for the right weight dumbbells.

The pros though are that the place is clean, people are friendly, cardio equipment is organized.

This gym has potential, but simple things like this need to be tended to in order to attract and retain members. I won’t be joining this gym.

Literally PF without any endearing qualities. There are too many cons about this place so I'll just state a few. The gym has poor ventilation, there is absolutely no air flow so you'll always end up feeling hot and tired. The weights are always a mess and nobody puts them back in order. The big guy Terry (I think that's what his name is), doesn't do anything besides yell at people about rules and constantly goes on power trips. He yelled at a little girl who accidentally dropped her weight and when I say yelled he literally screamed in her face not to drop it again or he'll cancel her membership. For reference the guy is probably 220 lbs and at least 6 feet 2 inches in height. Do with this info what you will, but I implore you to find a better gym in your area.

I recommend this gym. I was only a member briefly while my employer’s gym was closed for a short period for updates, but it was rarely crowded here, the machines all work, it was immaculately clean in the restrooms, and the Wi-Fi signal is great.

Mary at the front desk deserves a special shout out for being so friendly and very efficient! On more than one occasion I saw her greeting regulars and helping new members with paperwork at the same time. She also remembered my name which is a great way to make me feel accountable for keeping up routine visits.

My only gripe are the motion sensing paper-towel dispensers and faucets. These contraptions rarely recognize me as a human and whenever they break I hope they replace them with standard issue. I also think they might consider later hours on Sundays—I was tempted to go then, in anticipation of the week starting, and always realized at the last minute they were closed.

Pretty good gym. Not as crowded as others in the area, but also a bit more expensive. Lots of cardio equipment, which is great. The main downside is that there are too many workout machines and not enough free weights. The gym feels more like one from 10 years ago where most people used machines instead of free weights. This leads to lots of people crowding into the free weight sections of the gym while other areas are completely empty.

Overall pretty decent. Most people seem to be upset about the cancellation policy. I will say as someone who reads the fine print they make this policy pretty confusing. I wish they were just more clear and upfront that when you cancel you'll essentially be billed for 2 months, and when you sign up, after a month you'll be billed for the first and last month of membership.

There are great people at this gym. It’s clean, the personal trainers (e.g. Jerry) are nice, and Kevin, who’s the GM, gave me a great tour of the gym when I started. However, I was promised a 30 day risk free trial, and I was to cancel before 2/13/21. I cancelled on 2/12/21, and was told by the young front desk professional that I was all set. I even asked a second time are you sure I don’t need anything else, and she said no.

Fast forward a week later, I looked at my credit card statement and I was charged $79.98. I called in to dispute this charge and Julie, who I believe is another manager at the gym, argued with me to say that I lied about ever cancelling.

I am disputing this charge with my credit card, and please beware of shady bookkeeping/trial practices with this gym.

This is really unfortunate because I enjoyed my time here, with the only negative being not being able to deadlift because of understandable policies regarding the office work downstairs (the gym is located on the 2nd floor of an office building)

Good , clean facility. Enough space to stay distanced and enough equipment ( benches, free weight, cardio equipment etc..) to go around. Sanitizing spray (for equipment and people) everywhere . Men's locker room is , I think, the cleanest one I've ever seen.
Staff are attentive and personable .

i have lived in NYC and Boston for most of my adult life and this GYM is literally the best bang for the buck you can get for the quality of classes offered. There isn't a single other place that offers the fitness classes ranging form cardio focused classes includig cycling, zumba to strength training workouts like HIIT, body pump, barre, yoga, etc. for like $35 dollars a month. i have paid on average $65 on other gyms with similar amenities. I travel a lot so wasn't really going to my classes so terminated my membership yesterday after being a member for 3 years and i was surprised at how easy that process was. As long as you cancel by the 10th of the month they won't charge you for next month. Where do you find this kind of service anymore? This GYM deserves all the 5 stars.

Started @ assembly sports club back in September when I moved to Somerville. Out of all the local gyms this one is by far the cleanest and most well kept. The free training session is a nice touch & I ended up signing on for training sessions w/ Jenn Tracy. I've had many personal trainers in the past & Jenn is the first one where I actually look forward to my sessions. She took the time to craft a workout regiment AND diet that fit my body type & goals. So far so good - major progress! Thank you Assembly Sports Club and thank you JENN!!

WARNING - DO NOT GO TO THIS GYM.Overpriced, restrictive, and inflexible with customers.

tl;dr - go to the planet fitness that is <1mile down the road. You get the exact same gym experience and pay <1/3 of the price.

Said simply, this gym is an OVERPRICEDPlanet fitness. They restrict what you're allowed to do (no deadlifts for example) and they only have free weights up to 60lbs. This place is covered in signs that tell you if you disobey they rules they can terminate your membership immediately.

On top of that, ASC charges over 3x what planet fitness charges on a monthly basis AND they have a $50 annual fee + $50 sign up fee. You'd think with that cost that they gym and bathrooms would be kept clean/updated - WRONG. The machines are outdated and the bathrooms (showers specifically) are disgusting. Given the level of service you receive, both fees seems like they are going to the ownership's pocket instead of your gym experience.

Lastly, I signed up for the free 30 day trial and decided to pay for the membership while I found another gym that was equally suitable for my friend and I. (this part is my fault) but I was unaware of the fact that once the membership started I was charged all the fees + first and last months dues. Shortly after (4 days to be exact) I requested to change from the platinum service ($35 per month) to the normal membership ($30 per month) and in order to do so they would charge me an ADDITIONAL $50 sign up fee. I explained the situation and management doesn't care.

I have been training with Jenn Tracy for a few months and she is the reason why I am a member at Assembly Sports Club. I put on 15 pounds of muscle in my first 10 weeks with her and have improved as an athlete. Jenn has a way of keeping you motivated and engaged, and more importantly, she makes working out fun. I have had multiple trainers over the last 10 years and she is by far the best. I would not even consider training with anyone else!!

I have been going to Assembly for three months now and I have been working out with the trainer Jenn. I really like coming to ASC as the gym is clean, they have a friendly staff and I never have to wait even when it is busy as there are lots of free weights, weight machines and cardio equipment. My results have been great. I am really tired after each session but the workouts are fun and Jenn does a great job encouraging me and making things interesting. Each session we do new exercises and she has even sent me extra ones to do when I can’t get in to see her. She also is very flexible with her schedule and is able to meet with me after work which is pretty late. I am not focusing solely on the number on the scale but building muscle, getting stronger, and being healthier overall. I know with Jenn’s help I will be successful in reaching my goals.

Assembly Sports Club is a great gym. From the owners, to the front staff, to the guys cleaning the floor, they all work to make it feel very friendly and welcoming and keep the gym clean and bright. They have a great mix of equipment and weights for everyone's ability. There is a good selection of classes and other services to get while you are at the gym. My personal trainer Jenn has helped me reach my goals and her and the other trainers keep me motivated with their words of encouragement all while providing me with workout routines that are challenging and fun. She is very flexible to match me busy schedule and is always checking to make sure I am staying on plan.

Clean, courteous, and convenient, this gym has it all. Whether you’re just getting into fitness or a certified gym rat, you’ll find what you need and be able to get a great cardio or weight training workout in here. The staff is polite and always helpful. As a 3 year member, I worked out both on my own and with a trainer. I began working out with Jenn when I hit a tough plateau and and she was able to take me to the next level through a diet, exercise, and supplementation plan at a price that was within budget. She made my goals absolutely attainable and I couldn’t be happier with my results. Thanks Assembly and Jenn!

Picked up a lot of weight over the last 10 years after a career change that derailed my fitness routine. My hair stylist recently moved from Newbury Street to the salon at the club, which is how I discovered it and realized how clean, well run, and super conveniently located it is. I avoided the gym for my entire life, just resigned to the fact that I was always going to be super skinny and there's nothing I could do about it. But at my lowest, I decided to finally make a change in my life and join Assembly Sports Club.

It was the exact kick-in-the-ass I needed. I've gained 15 pounds and a ton of confidence in the 4-5 months I've been there. It's a great atmosphere there, everyone is friendly and there's a ton of equipment so you don't feel too crowded or have to wait for what you need.

Shout-out out my trainer Jennifer Tracy, who has guided me the entire way. I came into this place at 132 pounds, completely clueless and lacking confidence -- and I've gained the weight, feel so much better about myself and she's taught me a ton about lifting, training, nutrition and discipline. Can't wait to gain another 15 pounds!

I also train with Jenn who is extremely knowledgeable, very outgoing and highly committed/dedicated to her clients. She really cares about the people she works with and does everything she can to make sure they reach their fitness goals.

The biggest downside is that there are not a lot of free weights and the space is crowded in the afternoon but that is to be expected with any gym. Besides, you can definitely get creative with what’s available and still get a great workout. Overall, I definitely recommend Assembly Sports Club!

I would give 0 stars if it’s possible. The front desk lady was very rude .She assumed that I couldn’t speak English, and didn’t listen to a single thing I said. There was a sign outside that said “$24.99 per month with no commitment”, and when I asked for further elaboration on the sign, she didn’t listen to me and showed inappropriate body language towards me. This gym is the worst. I have been a member for almost two years, and paid extra for just going the the classes. During this time we sometimes waited for some instructors up to 10-15 min. Several times the class was canceled and we didn’t even got any heads up. I never complained about this but today they didn’t let me in after I scan my card at 7:30 pm. They said that the class was already closed. I could see the instructor giving the instructions. The staff is really umpleasant and unpolite. Stay away, plenty of gyms in the area. Equipment is also outdated and for some of the threadmills the tvs don’t even work.

The costumer service was horrible, I got attitude and a very aggressive tone. I also felt discriminated and its not the first time. When I ask to speak to a manager, the girl told me that the manager wasn't there but the boss was but I couldn't speak to him. When I ask why she said because he doesn't want people to know who he is, making no sense. So at the end I ended up canceling my membership, best decision ever. For anyone interested in going is not worth it, not with that service.

I guess for a $20 / month gym, I'm not looking for or expecting a full suite of concierge services or a personal staff member to bring me water and towels every 10 minutes. As long as the membership computer recognized my card (it did) and the equipment was in working order (it was), then I was all set. I have since left for other personal reasons, but I was extremely satisfied with ASC from the day I joined to the day I cancelled.

My wife and I have been going here for about a month. We selected it because it is close by, and it has some elliptical trainers; it does not take a lot to make us happy. And we were, for a little while. despite the fact that the gym doesn't have a lot of equipment for serious trainers (if you don't go for cardio or machine circuit training, don't even bother), and despite the constant loud, bad music (much louder than in other gyms I've been to, weirdly), the bottom line was, hey we're getting a workout, its close by and who cares - for the fairly low price of 50 bucks, we can be happy about it.

And then I started eating garlic.

Now, I realize that the sulfurous compounds in garlic react in the blood, releasing H2S gas and that this is unpleasant for some people. And this would be fine, except for the way that one of their employees has been dealing with it. On two occasions now, the same employee (who I believe is new?) has come up to me and started to tell me she thought i stank. Then, about 15 seconds in, as I listen politely to her position, she begins to turn to my wife and publicly scream at HER for stinking.

My wife doesn't stink- *I* and I alone ate the garlic. Now, the first time I thought she was mildly crazy so I didn't think about it, and I didn't change my behavior. But the second time, she stood up in front of the front counter and scolded my wife for five minutes about HER body odor, exactly as before, having walked by visibly sniffing ME, and in the beginning, (for about 15 seconds) talking to ME about MY odor. This happened right in front of the management and a number of counter employees by the massage chairs, so I can only conclude now that, even though she is new, this attitude reflects on the management and staff of the facility.

I decided, you know, I should probably stop eating Garlic then. But when I walked out of the facility, I discovered that my poor wife's feelings had been seriously hurt (which seems obvious now, of course). Despite the gym's other problems, I wouldn't have given them a BAD review, but the fact that the management and staff stood by while this weird, creepy old lady bullied my wife on their apparent authority (she mentioned that the owner, who was behind the counter I believe, had asked her to say something) is just terrible, in my opinion.

Awful gym.

They took over for Planet Fitness, doubled the price, changed the paint, and brought a bad attitude. Getting out of my contract was no picnic either. Good lawyers, bad gym operators.

Now there is a 24 hour Planet Fitness about a mile away in Medford for $10 per month, that is much bigger, with brand new equipment, you never wait fora cardio machine, and the people are much better.

Boston Sports Club, and Gold's are a mile away, so you can find a much better gym for $10 a month to $60 a month, depending on your needs.

Don't sign a long term deal with this place. They probably wont't last.
