I have been coming to Body and Brain for around 6 months and it has significantly changed my life. These sessions have allowed for my physical healing, mental clarity, and expansion of energy. As a college student, this practice is essential in my weekly routine and gives me the opportunity to feel in my body. The people, the atmosphere, the training--- everything contributes to this transformational experience. I honestly don't know where I'd be without it, couldn't recommend more!

I never imagined that Body & Brain would shift my life this much. It’s so much more than what I expected. The deeper you go into the sessions, the more you start to feel real changes…not just in your body, but in your mind and energy too. It naturally flows into every part of your life… your health, relationships, and even your career.
I truly recommend giving it a try! I believe they even offer a free class, so there’s nothing to lose. If you’re looking to make a positive change in your life, this is such a great place to start. I really hope they open more branches around the world so more people can experience this transformation.

I'm lucky to have this community. The instructors are very supportive, kind and caring. The practice helped me connect my body, mind and spirit. I always feel grounded, relaxed and lighter after a class.
Since I have joined Body & Brain in 2016 I don't need my anti-depressive medication anymore!
I highly recommend Body & Brain.

I received a referral from my doctor, she gave me a brochure. She goes to this place and she told me it has really helped her. I have diabetes and been having lower back issues. I have been going to Physical Therapy for 6 months with little improvement. They have been great and has switched up my routine into flexibility. I decided to check this place out. I signed up for a 50 minute evaluation with ChunShim. She did a complete evaluation and all I can say is this woman was amazing!!! I also attended a Tai Chi class with Mary Jo, which was great! The movements along with the breathing have helped! Never really believed this non traditional treatment. I have just began but I feel better after attending a session with ChunShim and the classes! Try it, you have nothing to loose!

Body and Brain, My Guiding Light
Since I began this sacred way,
My soul has bloomed more every day.
Through Body & Brain, I came to find
True healing for my heart and mind.
With energy that gently flows,
Awarenes deepens, spirit grows.
Enlightment and strength unite,
My body feels both calm and light
I am grateful to the Masters wise,
Who help me lift my inner skies--
With every word, with every pose,
A deeper sense of self arose.
Each class and workshop, every part,
Brings joy and balance to my heart.
Vitality, pure love and grace
Now fill my life and sacret space.
No longer just a passing phase,
This practice lights my nights and days.
It, who I am, my soul's own song--
A path that's led me true and strong.
With love and light, I stand today,
And thanks to all who show the way!!!

Classes at body and brain have been so good for me! They have something for everyone, very accessible, and everyone (teachers and students) have been so kind-hearted. I always feel better after taking a class no matter what was going on with my body or emotions when I walked in. After 1.5 years of regular classes I’m so much healthier, slimmer, stronger and happier. I’ve seen so many members with all kinds of health issues get healthier too…it has been amazing to watch and learn how much the yoga and energy practices can help. I’d recommend it to anyone!

Going on my 3rd year of classes at Body & Brain in Arlington and saw an improvement in my overall physical condition and health within the 1st few months. Problems with my back due to Arthritis have improved and my shoulder stiffness and its restricted movement are no longer a problem. They do more than just Yoga and the Qi Gong and Meditation training has been an additional plus that I was searching for to compliment a general Yoga exercise routine offered by other studios.

Just a little over a year ago, I decided to sign up for a year’s membership at Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi in Arlington. I am now embarked upon my second year because these meridian-based practices are bringing a deeper and deeper awakening to my body, brain and psyche. I remain fascinated by the healing benefits of moving energy within the body. I feel like I am gradually shedding layers and layers of stagnant energy laid down by many years of sedentary habits. The masters teaching classes embody the benefits of the work, are so friendly, kind and humorous and make the center a very welcoming place to return to again and again.

During the time of this pandemic we have all had to make many changes and adapt to changing circumstances. That has also been true for giving and taking classes at the Body and Brain Center here in Arlington.
Thankfully Body and Brain (BNB) adapted all of their classes to an online format using Zoom. This actually made it very easy to join classes and I could do them right in the comfort of my own living room. Another great benefit is that we have 4 local BNB centers with many great instructors in our Boston area. However most people would only go to the one closest to them which makes sense. But with the online classes all the instructors taught at different times so I was able to take classes with instructors I otherwise would not have been able to. Every one of our local teachers has unique and special skills so that has been a real benefit to enjoy learning from all of them.
Also due to my work schedule and then a little bit of a health condition it was sometimes difficult for me to get to classes on time or even get there at all. But now that I work from home all I have to do is turn on my computer, which I have connected to my TV and Viola, I'm in class!
I cannot stress enough how important good health is and I think we all have been made aware of this fact with the current virus going around. Building your immune system has never been more important and it takes consistent work to keep your body mind and spirit in good health. So in that way it's been a real blessing to have such easy access to these classes. While I miss seeing people in person this has been the most excellent way to keep up my practice. And also it's very convenient and has saved travel time. Additionally I attended a multitude of corporate level classes I never would have been able to take them all if I had to travel to them. It would have taken several years or more!
I will just end by saying that I have a long history of taking classes that use Eastern health and wellness exercises and principles to achieve better health. That includes quite a few martial arts classes in the past. This is why I love Body and Brain because they incorporate all of the Eastern energy principles in a fun way that also helps you improve yourself as a person, become more productive, have control over your thoughts and emotions, and just be a happier healthier brighter person! It's the best thing I have ever done! Thank you!

"Body and Brain feels like home! It is a practice that focuses on the harmonizing of the body and brain/mind, as well as the power of the heart. The Masters are skillful, compassionate, supportive. We learn about the different energy channels in the body, or techniques that target specific physical or emotional symptoms, and we strengthen our core power. I truly recommend this practice for anyone who is a serious seeker of heart, body, and mind alignment.”

Come to Arlington Body & Brain
yoga center and find Nature from
the inside out.
As a licensed mental health counselor, I have experienced extensive training in a variety of counseling techniques. My past experiences have opened me up to numerous theories all of which have been invaluable to me. It is Body and Brain Yoga, however, that really challenged me to go beyond my thoughts and into my body. It wasn't long before I realized that my challenge was no longer understanding concepts or being involved in physical activity. Through brain education, I began to understand the importance of such simple yet complex human movements as breathing, tapping, stretching, centering, letting go of thoughts and focusing energy inward ... helping to keep me connected with my inner self and maintain balance.
Through the instruction of a highly
professional and committed staff and most recently the instruction of Chun and Luke at Arlington Center , my physical strength , emotional balance,
mental clarity and energy have deepened as i enter my “ senior” years. I now teach senior citizens body & brain yoga as I choose to share my “ sense of true
well being with others”
I wish everyone at any age that
“ sense of well being.”

I’ve been involved in Pilates and other yoga practices, but this one is extraordinary. The availability of both attending in person and online is so generous. The instructor, Cho, teaches as we go and catches moves to correct. He is so pleasant, patient, and creative. It never gets boring! It’s never “easy”, but always effective for tension, relaxation, and improving my body’s ability to move! Past limitations are being corrected and it makes a significant difference in my life and overall health. I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of instruction and practice as a whole.

I was a member years ago of the Body & Brain Arlington years ago, and had to stop because of my busy work and home life. I recently made the best decision I’ve made in a long time to return to the center to resume my practice. I can’t say enough about Masters Cho and Elise. Their classes are always slightly different so things never get stuck in routine. I leave feeling energized and truly grateful. The zoom classes have been wonderful as well. Very convenient and so easy to join. I have made a commitment to better health, both physically and mentally and this center and staff is exactly what I needed to get me there. Ty!!!!

I have been a member at Body & Brain since 2019 and it has truly changed my life for the better! I tried a class on a whim to seek some relief from constant tension headaches and fell in love with the program & the people! In addition to helping with pain management I've also gained control over my overall physical and emotional health with this practice. All of the instructors are wonderful and really go above and beyond, including meeting 1x1 with members each month to talk through challenges & goals. This extra step has really helped keep me accountable in my practice so I can keep growing. I am also very impressed with how they've handled the pandemic. When everything started to get crazy last spring, they pivoted rapidly and seamlessly to offering a full live-stream class schedule through zoom. I've been a member of both the Riverwalk and Arlington centers and truly can't recommend them enough!

Body and Brain Yoga of Arlington is fantastic. I originally started attending bc at the age of 40 I was starting to experience pains with my shoulders and knees. In my attempt to stave away any further pains, I decided to take a class at Body and Brain Yoga. It was absolutely amazing. I joined shortly afterwards and my body feels 100%. Better than that, I appreciate the focus that Cho and Elise give to helping us focus and de-stress by not just concentrating on our bodies but also our minds. It is a full experience. It is one of the best decisions that I have ever made to keep my mind and body sharp and limber. Cho and Elise are warm, considerate professionals who know their craft and students very well. I appreciate the opportunity that I have to learn from them and the other great instructors in the studio. I definitely believe that I would have been incredibly more stressed mentally and physically if I did not have the chance to meditate and workout online as COVID started to increase. The other students are also great. Everyone is coming with the intention to be their best selves. Two thumbs up!

It has almost been a year since I have been going to this center and I am thankful every single day that I am able to attend(online) especially during these hard times. I get the same benefits online or even better, since it allows me to focus deeper only on myself. I have learned so much about who I am; emotional level, physical level and mental level. I had no idea that I could feel the energy that I feel moving within my body. This is important to me because I can feel the energy and turn that energy into bright positive energy. If you or anyone you know suffers from anxiety or any kind of trauma this is for you. I went from having anxiety every single day for most of the day to a few times a month. If I do get anxious, I use the techniques that I have been taught; tapping, body vibration, gigam, belly button healing. Using these techniques consistently you will feel balanced, light and at peace fairly quickly. On a more mental level, learning acceptance rather than judgement and showing compassion to oneself has been a huge help as well. You will meet highly trained, compassionate, caring, loving knowledgeable people at Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi. Thank you Master Cho and Elise and everyone at all the centers for making my life brighter <3

I tried out B&B with little idea of what I was in for. (I was looking for a tai chi class). For the past 35 years, I have worked as a bodyworker and experienced many kinds of energy work to deal with my own severe blocks. I have also taken several extensive trainings working with the body and jumped at seeing any energy worker that sounded good. While I was trained as a social worker, I found work with the body and energy to be the best way to get past my defenses and access my real, authentic feelings. I say all this by way of saying I was in a good position to judge a class that advertises as B&B does.
I was stunned after that first class (called home immediately to say how fantastic I felt!) and continue to feel that way after almost every class over a year later. The classes are a remarkable blend of yoga, tai chi, acupressure, and all manner of effective and challenging exercises to build strength and flexibility. In addition, there is a profound understanding of the function of energy in the body and classes include an impressive number of ways to both unblock and enhance the flow of energy (as well as teach about it).
I was cautious at first….wondering: what is this place? Who are these people? Where have I landed? This was no ordinary yoga or Tai Chi class. Aside for the quite brilliantly designed classes, the kindness and dedication to helping everyone who enters was really extraordinary and it took me a while to trust it.
The teachers are excellent and always working to improve their classes. While there are many moves that are repeated over and over, no class is like any other! And the tea circle that follows each class helps build a community of compassion and caring and learning from one another.
In addition to classes, there are workshops to teach more specific ways of learning about energy, developing one’s brain (mental focus), and finding “your true self”.
And, finally, I experienced some of the best energy session I’ve ever had. Underneath years of fatigue from insomnia, I discovered a world of delicious energy flooding my body by the end of the session. Slowly but surely, my old habits are changing.
For anyone who wants to get stronger and more flexible in their body AND feel more authentic and alive……heads up1

I have been a member of the center for about two months. I attend almost every class (I love them all, especially Energy Movement). In this short amount of time I have already seen so many changes within myself, not only physically but mentally. I went into the center feeling lower back pain, lots of anxiety, low flexibility, lack of strength in core and many other things. Now I have no more lower back pain, my anxiety has improved and I can finally touch my toes when doing a hamstring stretch. I feel much healthier physically and mentally. I am hooked. I can't imagine ever going to another place. It is a whole body, mind and soul connection. It literally works out your entire being. Plus you will find good community. Many smiling people that make you want to go to class. I am blessed and so thankful that I found this place. I am gaining back my confidence and connection with myself. Thank you so much :)

I have been practicing since over a 6 months now. And earlier in 2017, I did it for about 6 months; had to leave for because of some personal reasons(unfortunately).
It offers the most holistic approach of health-care+spirituality.
I am from Nepal and Yoga+meditation had always been a part of me ever-since.
I was very overwhelmed with the life in US when I first came in 2015 as my husband's dependent. It caused me several emotional plus physical diseases.
But, the pain that I went through helped me realize the value of taking care of oneself; physically/ emotionally.
Initially, my husband and I were little apprehensive about the high cost. (as I was not even working). But, now I am very satisfied with my decision.
I feel I am at a far better position now to handle and direct my life the way I want.
Being a woman, I can relate more to modern women's problem. So I would recommend this to every working woman who is looking for a balance.
I am very grateful towards Elise and Master Cho.
More power to them.

It has been almost a year since I joined the Arlington Brain and Body Yoga. And it has been nothing short of transformative in terms of body and mind health. I started noticing dramatic changes within three months. Prior to joining, my right knee wouldn't come all the way to my chest (though my left would) and would cause pain. This was a problem since my twenties and within the first three months that was gone. Within six months my decade-long chronic back pain disappeared altogether. I don't get a stiff neck anymore even after prolonged driving on bad roads. A single continuous week of sessions changes my state of mind noticeably, I am much more centered and less perturbed by daily rough and tumble, and my per-hour productivity goes way up.
A word must be said about the teachers, who are just awesome - welcoming, affectionate and radiate peace. I suspect it rubs off a little onto the students as well every time they attend a class. I miss sessions often these days because of work, travel and distance from my place, but when I did daily practice for a few months, I benefited hugely.
Finally, this place is one of a kind for another big reason. It is the only yoga and taichi place I could find that is open 7 days a week running guided sessions three times every day (more if one counts the other special sessions that happen almost every week). So for someone who wants to do yoga/taichi everyday guided, this is great. I wonder about the effort it takes for a small staff to keep it this way for years - one of the many things that speak to their dedication.

I'm really not one to write a bad review, and by the looks of the reviews, the method here have been helpful for many; however, there was something very unsettling about this place and it left a very bad taste in my mouth. I went to an introductory session, which seemed fairly legit until the very end when I almost felt coerced into signing up for a package/ program. When I saw the prices of the programs, I answered honestly that I did not feel like I could afford them at the moment, but that I would check my finances. It almost felt like I couldn't leave until I agreed to sign up for something (which I did not). The person asked several times and questions like "how long will it take you to decide?" and "You can't even afford 1 month for $150?" I finally had to say that I really didn't want to be pressured into making a decision...I feel like in energy work you should understand boundaries more than the average person and realize that this type of recruitment is invasive and appears money hungry. I will not be signing up for courses.

I've been practicing Dahn Yoga for about 3 months now, and it has completely changed my life for the better. It has built my confidence, given me motivation, and reduced my anxiety and depression almost completely. It is so much more than the typical yoga class. They offer a lot of different self betterment workshops that teach people to be at peace and totally grounded working with the different chakra energy points in the body. They teach self healing methods like meditation, mindful breathing, and energy movement. I've learned to live rather than just exist. Being anxious and depressed stemmed from looking outside of myself. This practice teaches to really look inside and experience the true potential and power that exists in each and everyone of us. I've learned to be courageous enough to live for what my heart desires ,rather than what my ego says I should. I've been able to come off of my antidepressants and anti anxiety medications with no problem. I've lost a total of 30 lbs since I have started. It's great exercise, but also an enlightening experience that motivates me to want to be healthy. I've never been as happy as I've been since I've started. The centers manager Elise has made a huge impact on my life. She really cares about all of her clients, and is completely loyal to the members. She schedules private check ins to ask how I'm doing and offers great advice and healing. Joining this program is the BEST decision I've ever made for myself.

I have been going to the Arlington Dahn Yoga Center for almost 2 years. My journey has been full of mystery and wonder and learning that deep breathing, body tapping, intestinal exercises, moving energy and brain wave vibration brings awareness of how wonderfully we are made and how we are capable of healing ourselves has added a new dimension to my life. The words of encouragement, the positive affirmations and the warm hugs from the instructors have meant more to me than words can express. My body is more flexible; I am able to handle stress better and after working all day, I look forward to coming to class to clear my head and calm my mind.
To improve my balance, I have been studying DahnMuDo which is a powerful, yet gentle practice that taps into the energy deep inside of my body to maintain a balance between powerful movement, grace and inner stillness. It has really helped me and I feel I have more confidence in my ability to move my body.
The workshops offered are enlightening and beneficial for all who are interested in experiencing a deeper understanding of self.
We are a community of friendly, caring people and welcome newcomers.

Dahn Yoga has had a dramatic impact on my health. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease almost 5 years ago, about the same time I started classes at the DY center, My mobility has improved significantly as well as my mental acuity and stress management. With the help of the caring staff and training at Dahn Yoga, I have been able to maintain a high-stress job, improve my body condition and remain self-sufficient despite my diagnosis. I highly recommend Arlington Dahn Yoga for anyone that wants to improve themselves physically, mentally, or to manage the stress we all experience in today's hectic world..

When I joined Dahn Yoga, I was stressed out from trying to do too much and stiff from hours sitting in front of a computer. In the 18 months that I have been a member of Dahn Yoga, I have seen a dramatic improvement in posture, balance, strength and flexibility. I feel so much better - more energetic and positive, able to concentrate better and to sleep through the night.
A varying blend of exercise, meditation, and Tai Chi keeps the classes interesting. The personal warmth of the members and instructors and the individualized healing programs keep me wanting to go to class two or three times a week in a way that exercising with machines in a gym has not. My goal is to stay with it for a long time.

One Sunday morning in spring, I, newly arrived in Arlington, wander through the empty streets of downtown, keeping an eye out for a place that offers classes in T'ai Chi and Qidong. I find one such place and peer through the window to see a cozy, golden-yellow space. It turns out to be the Dahn Center. Curious, I enter...to emerge an hour later, having taken my first class in "meridian stretching." I feel lighter and somehow brighter. A few days later, I return to try another class... Seven months later, thanks to the kind and able instruction of Arthur and Elise, the Center's manager and assistant manager, I have experienced an awakening and healing of body, long neglected, and soul, barely acknowledged. From lethargy to energy! On Broadway in Arlington, there is a golden light that glows and heals. It emanates from the Dahn Center.

I've had some pretty wonderful experiences at Dahn Yoga in Arlington. Actually, as I look back I've had a ton of different experiences there, from classes to workshops and all of it has been positive and helpful. The instructors have been very supportive and motivational. I've lost weight, transitioned careers, moved across boston, and really changed in the time I've been going to the Arlington center and I can't help but give credit to the practice and people for helping me make my life a happier, better place.

I've been a member for almost 5 years and continue to greatly benefit from their classes! Since I joined in 2008 I've lost more than 50lbs! It's really helped increase my flexibility, balance and coordination. I feel a lot stronger and healthier and would recommend this to anyone looking to improve their physical condition. It's also very helpful in managing anxiety and stress reduction.

I am so happy I found this place! I can't completely explain but I just love going to classes here! I feel like the moment I walk in the door my body starts to relax and I can smile.
I have been meaning to start an exercise program but I couldn't stick with the gym. The classes at Dahn Yoga are easy yet challenging, if that makes sense. I feel more energized and I have more confidence to achieve my goals!

This place is great. I first took a class here over 6 years ago! And in my travels I've been back many times. I've had some really great experiences. I love the energy meditation in class and also the breathing exercises are wonderful. Arthur and Amy are very friendly and lots of fun. I utilize a lot of the breathing techniques in other workouts that I do, at the gym or on my own. Highly recommended.
