Fantastic powerlifting gym - rogue and elite fts, tons of specialty bars with appropriate collars, racks, even a Rogue Donkey. Great space for serious lifting and super easy day passes.

Great powerlifting gym if you’re traveling through. Has the comp equipment you need from a powerlifting gym, it’s easy to get ahold of staff via the phone, and there is a vending machine w food+drinks if you’re in a pinch.
It’s the typical “buy a pass on their website for the code to the door” setup.
Filled with fellow Powerlifitng enthusiasts. Friendly, down to earth, and non-predatory vibes.
I went here late at night and it didn’t feel sketch.

Excellent gym. Lots of weights, very little wait for equipment. Cool people, serious about lifting but with friendly, laid back atmosphere. I moved away and already miss it!

Been lifting for over a decade, both in powerlifting and strongman, and this is hands down the greatest place I've ever trained. This gym is home to an incredibly friendly and lovely community who encourage everyone no matter their training experience or strength level, and the gym owner Steve is an goodly earnest man who would converse with me often about my lifting career and my goals for the future both in competition and my personal life. There is such a warmth from this place that you CANNOT find anywhere else.
Also, they have literally everything.
In terms of amenities they have:
- thousands of kg/lb of ipf approved calibrated kg plates, normal milled iron plates, and bumper plates both iwf approved competition and normal black training bumpers
- competition standard combo racks and benches
- adjustable benches
- three full size power racks
- dumbbells
- cable machines
- a BELT SQUAT machine (I love this btw)
- bands
- chains
- almost every single kind of barbell that you could ever ask for (power bars in both lb and kg, oly lifting bars, multi-grip bars, hex bars (several types), squat bars, deadlift bars, bamboo + tsunami bars, axle bars etc.)
They even have strongman specific equipment like:
- logs
- crash pads
- a yoke walk
- wagon wheels
- several sets of farmers carry implements set at different grip heights
They also will provide belts for you in the event you forget one and have an entire wall space with several dozen belts in every size a person could come in. I am a giant man and have been saved from feeling a fool often because there are several belts in my size available to use on their rack. There is space to lift outside as well if that is your preference, and there are additional racks, benches, bars, and plates available in this area to accommodate this.

Bad:
- don't expect AC in the summer (it's been broken for like a month and it's about 85 degrees in there) or heat in the winter (often I would come into a gym under 40 degrees)
- Persistent black mold in the ceiling
- Gym is often really disorganized from the night crew leaving their weights and trash everywhere
- Often someone with main character syndrome comes into a gym full of people with headphones and blasts their terrible music at full volume
- A lot of the equipment is falling apart
- No showers
- No bike rack
- Vending machine not stocked very well
- There are a few personal trainers (not sure if they're affiliated with the gym or not) who take up 3-4x the equipment as a normal person.
Good
- Decent amount of weightlifting stuff but, again, most of it is half falling apart
- They get new (used) equipment fairly often
- Barbell jacks
- Unstaffed and you can come at any time
Edit: The owner asked that I email first in the future. I have emailed them several times with about a 50% success rate on getting things resolved. They are usually quick to resolve the mold but it has been a recurring issue.

Cambridge Strength and Conditioning is not your typical gym. CSC is a community of world class power lifters and people interested in gettin' after it that is open to anyone interested. The gym has all the equipment you need for power lifting and body building. The community is welcoming, genuine, knowledgeable, and passionate.
As for the knowledge, many of the regular attendees are trained in each lift, exercise science, physical training, and some have degrees in kinesiology. If you ask someone for help you might also get an education.
As for the community, people seem to strike the right balance of talking and lifting. If you ask for a spot, youll get it with a friendly encouraging smile. If you ask for encouragement on a big lift, then its common for the whole gym to cheer you on. After I spent some time away from the gym this summer, I had people checked in me just to be sure I was okay and that warmed my heart.
As for the passion, these guys are preforming at the highest levels of power lifting. If you want to become a world class power lifter, then come here. Beyond lifting, I was impressed by how accomplished everyone was outside of the gym also.
The gym is run by the members and they do well. Because the gym is run by members, the service is great. While nobody is sitting around "on staff" it feels like all the regular members are somehow part of the staff. After spending ~years at the gym I am still not really sure who was or was not "on staff" because it felt like everyone played some role in running the gym.
If I had a problem or wanted anything, then I felt like I could just tell a regular or send an email and it would be solved. The owner of the gym is Steve. Steve is a legend that everyone respects. He is very available because he works out at the gym daily and feels like just another member. He's done a great job in building this special community. When I moved away and had to end my membership, it was as simple as sending one email.
CSC is gritty and full of jacked super nerds. Some of the equipment and facility can be janky. While I wouldn't say its for everyone ... I loved it and if you're like me, then you'll love it too and find many others like yourself here.
I wish the gym and all its members continued success!

This place is everything you want it to be, if what you want is a no nonsense place to pick up some heavy weights and put them back down. Lovely people, great community.

One of the best gyms I've ever visited. Has pretty much any powerlifting / bodybuilding equipment you'd need.
Everyone is super friendly and welcoming.
Tends to be most crowded 4-7pm, just FYI. If you want a quiet workout, try earlier in the day. If you want to be surrounded by lots of people working hard and encouraging each other, come during peak hours.
Music is always blasting. Once in a while I get the chance to hook my music up to the speakers and that's great. Other times I enjoy the music others have put on. If it's not my jam, I just wear some noise cancelling headphones.
The owners are continually adding improvements, so some of the older reviews might not be relevant any longer. As of August 2024 they had installed a new AC system.

A fantastic gym for powerlifting. Calibrated plates, power bars, combo racks, and a variety of other bars (like the SSB). 24/7 access to the gym, so I could go whenever it fit my schedule (huge plus).
Definitely my go-to gym whenever I’m in the Boston area.

Great powerlifting gym. It is a small gym but they maximize their space with what is important to the kind of people that go here. Plenty of racks and weights to do heavy lifting. 24/7 access which not many places in the city provide. Also everyone who lifts here is very welcoming and all watch out for each other which fosters a great atmosphere.

Outstanding gym. Steve is very active in the community and takes great pride in keeping equipment well maintained. Great gym for powerlifting/strength sports
Multiple specialty bars - buffalo, SSB, swiss to name a few. Multiple benches, cages, racks, and 4 distinct deadlifting platforms.
Olympic lifting gear
Multiple conditioning/strongman implements - sandbags, log press, farmers carry, sleds.
Would strongly recommend going in AM as the place can turn in to a zoo after 5 pm. If you're a normal person that probably won't be an issue since everyone is pretty friendly and working in together is strongly encouraged.

Excellent gym, a must-visit in the area if you're a weightlifter, powerlifter, or functional fitness bro.
My first day training there was at 6am on a Tuesday morning, almost immediately I had 2 people introduce themselves. It's great to see a great gym with such a welcoming community.
During my second session I also had the pleasure of the owner introducing himself as he seems to pride himself on knowing who everyone is.
More gyms need to follow the example set by this one.

Awesome gym with awesome people. Being a night owl and an athlete, this place couldn't have been a better fit.
Extremely rare to find a Powerlifting/Olylifting/Strongman gym with late hours. Even more rare to find one as welcoming. If you're a casual gym goer, you'll learn a lot here. If you're neck deep in getting as strong as you possibly can, you'll find what you're looking for.
Great energy and culture at CSC, hope to return one day.

Had the pleasure of using this gym while i lived in boston from 2022-2023. By far the best gym around and recommended for all experience levels. I focused on olympic weight lifting, managed to find an awesome coach, and made some wonderful memories + PRs. Steve (owner) is an incredible person and only have positive experiences about him and his gym. 10/10.

Not for everyone, but perfect for powerlifters (and more recently oly lifters, too). Great communal vibe with tons of knowledgeable lifters willing to stop what they're doing to side spot or cheer/yell each other on. I wish I had this place a decade ago, as the average age trends towards lower 20s.
Does not offer much general health equipment like treadmills or machine but has sleds and implements for pulling, dragging, or carrying outside, as well as DBs, a lat pull, and a cable setup.
Any exercises beyond barbell movements will require some creativity to set up. Not recommended for novices.
Has recently become popular and some evenings can get packed, but everyone is open to sharing racks/platforms/benches when doing S/B/D

Tons of powerlifting equipment and enough for weightlifting to do what i need to do. Morning and midday atmosphere people seem to keep to themselves. Early evening feels like more like a club with people socializing and working out together.
Edit: now that they’ve added more weightlifting platforms there’s more room to breathe and less worry that I’ll have to wait around for an empty space.

I’ve never been a big “gym community” person, but everyone here is so nice that it’s hard not to talk to them. The facility has everything you’d need from a powerlifting gym, I’ve never had a problem accessing racks at peak hours. Would give 10 stars if I could.

Good gym for strength training. They even have proper belts available in case you forgot yours, which is rare.
The equipment is proper: deadlift jacks and platforms, bench/squat combo racks, and rogue plates! You can even find 2 red eleiko plates if you look closely.
Notable point: this is a gym where people have a good etiquette and re-rack their weights and bars. Very good.
