We had such a fun birthday party at Central Rock Arsenal Yards. Kailan and Myka went above and beyond to make it special. The gym is beautiful, clean, and had plenty of climbs our group of 7 year olds could do. Highly recommend!!

Very nice gym. Nice and clean. Staff was really polite. Very easy to find and (it appears; I’m from out of town) parking is easy to find.
Note that this is a ropes-only gym. They do have auto-belays though, which is nice and unusual.
Only downsides are that this place is really small. I think maybe 50 routes. And except for one area the walls are very short, maybe 30 feet high at most??? The grades looked slightly soft for all but the higher 11s and 12s.
But if you want a simple easy place up to, definitely come here!!!

Great gym! I wish they had some equipment to warm up with, but I respect the choice to maximize climbing wall space rather than adding a workout area

We came here for father’s day and we had an amazing time. And honestly i think the staff made it so relaxing. Especially Kirsten, she’s really helpful and will teach you everything you need to know about rock climbing without giving you a bombastic side-eye if you ask questions. She’s really the person you need when coming here for the first time. Everyone needs a Kirsten in their life, she’s an angel.

Fantastic Birthday Celebration at Central Rock Gym Arsenal Yard!
I recently celebrated my daughter's birthday at Central Rock Gym in Arsenal Yard, and it was truly an amazing experience! The facilities are exceptionally clean, offering a variety of difficulty levels, including those catering to our group of children aged 6 to 10.
The staff is outstanding, but I want to extend a special thanks to Supervisor Kailan. Kailan went above and beyond, ensuring not only the safety of everyone but also providing excellent training that boosted the kids' confidence. His attentiveness made the entire experience memorable.
During an unexpected incident where a balloon accidentally floated to the high ceiling, Supervisor Kailan took immediate initiative without us asking. He skillfully used a tool to retrieve it, demonstrating determination and dedication. Despite the difficulty, he successfully brought the balloon down, earning a round of applause from my daughter, her friends, and everyone present. Kailan’s proactive, kind, humble, and professional attitude truly stood out.
We were fortunate to have such a wonderful space to celebrate, and everyone, kids and adults alike, thoroughly enjoyed the event.
Overall, a great venue, not just for its fantastic facilities but also for the outstanding staff, particularly Supervisor Kailan.

It’s rare to find top rope climbing these days. Central rock has different mix at different locations. This is top rope and lead climb only. I love it! It’s just too expensive, i guess you pay for the location in the high end strip mall with free parking.

Convenient location, plenty of parking nearby, and the staff is so kind and patient while also generous with their knowledge. Routes are reset frequently to keep things interesting. And they pay close attention to keeping the space clean!

I found the concept super neat. I was on my way from another gym in the area and semi accidentally ended up in Arsenal Yards. I decided to do some cool down traversing here and thoroughly enjoyed the vibe. The idea of bringing the epic CRG quality to an accessible area with a lot of foot traffic is pretty neat and compliments the main Watertown facility well.
Other cool things
- good hold selection and good use of holds. The interesting holds also found their way onto some of the more accessible climbs which I thought was cool!
- very clean
- well lit

Pretty small, but a convenient location and usually not overly crowded on weeknights. Great to have a number of restaurants nearby for post-climbing.

Great gym, small and only offers bouldering. But offers everytjing from underhangs to slabs. Problems are cycled at a good rate to keep the climbs fun and new.

Super fun gym. Not that big and not that tall but we had fun. The grades seemed a little inconsistent but no big deal.

Small gym with odd hours. Location is in a shopping centre so getting in the parking lot area can be a zoo and a waste of time if you’re just trying to get a workout. Will try to plan around plaza busy times when I come back.
Super new holds as they just opened. So that’s a plus.

Top rope and lead only, with 3 of their 7 autobelays being for the 5.5 children's section. They packed a lot into a very small space, but not the greatest place to come on your own - not enough people around to find a partner and no bouldering option.

Super small but good location and new holds and ropes. They advertise 8 auto belays on the website though but 5 of them are in the kids section. They’re moveable but that was a bit underwhelming, hopefully that changes. They also don’t have a shower which is pretty inconvenient if you want to go before work or something. Otherwise new clean gym.

Relatively small gym with only top rope option. Would prefer they have more autobelay (currently only 3 and they are always occupied by kids) so very limited choices for anyone going there alone

Newly open rock gym, albeit smaller than the other places, it's still enjoyable with a range of difficulties. Perfect location at Arsenal Yard!
