I haven't even stepped one foot in the door yet. But the only reason for going is the pool and sauna and if those are not in good order. All bets are off! Fix your business!

It's not been a great experience at this gym. The women's locker room is disgusting. Everything is getting repaired or is currently broken. The women's only room has almost no equipment and much of it is old and rusty. The pool has been closed more often than not. I've put off writing a review hoping that it'd get better but today the entire gym smells like floor epoxy from whatever repairs they're doing now. We pay a lot to go here and initially that seemed okay based on what they were offering, but we can't use those things anyway...

I joined mostly because of the lap pool as there is not a lot of availability in that area. When it is working it is great. Over the past 5 months it has been down often which has been disappointing. It would be nice to know what the real reasons are. If it needs an overhaul the club should just get it done. Sometimes I wonder if it's the cost of the maintenance/heating, etc the club cannot afford. Swimming is one of the better forms of exercise for most people. I would rather they fix the real problems with the pool (or financing the pool) rather than doing what is obvious delayed repairs. Plus, the reserved team times need some looking at. Reserving all lanes between 7-8 pm on some days does not seem appropriate..at least leave one lane open.

Choice Fitness is Salisbury is a great all round facility. I joined this club specifically for the pool that includes a hot tub and therapy pool. It was disappointing to see they closed for long periods of time for repairs, maintenance, etc., but when operating, they are fabulous. The gym is a nice facility with lots of activities and classes to choose from. The staff is great, very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the showers and entrance to pool. The whole area could use an upgrade (cringeworthy). I also noticed the vents inside the locker room are caked with dust and who knows what. Cleaning vents and replacing the filters would probably resolve that issue. With a little more attention and easy fixes, the locker room and bathrooms would be much nicer.

I’ve been a member for a long time off and on for more than 30 years and lately it’s been disappointing. The pool and hot tub were off line for months and that is the main reason for my membership, no reduction in costs was offered and little to no information on how long these items would be out of service.

The woman’s dressing room is frankly, disgusting.
The entrance way from pool to locker rooms is falling apart and looks like it’s growing. Half the showers drip constantly and are often broken.
The built in hair dryers and soap dispensers are all broken. The plug in driers can’t keep up with the use and stop working very quickly. The sauna is barely warm most nights.

I understand times are difficult but the changing rooms haven’t seen improvements on maybe 20 years and they are … gross!

If there were other pool options locally I would go elsewhere but unfortunately the YMCA has very limited lane swimming times so here I am.

Your staff and courteous and helpful.

Thank you

Needed to cancel membership since getting any amenity aside from weight lifting (basketball, pickleball, pool) was a hassle. Tried to cancel membership for three weeks (which was well over 40 days notice), only to be told there was no manager to assist with it every time. Finally got a manager but was told I did not give 30 days notice and I will be charged both months...since my several weeks of trying didn't count. Manager denied being out of the building but then started making excuses about how hard it is to run such a facility. Never again.

Horrible gym. I was being ripped off by being charged twice a month and both payments were about twice what I was quoted. The last time I was here, they had an emergency and forced everyone out of the pools. Pathetic. I'm going to talk to a manager tomorrow and if I am not refunded the fraudulent charges, I am going to pursue criminal prosecution.

To say I was petrified of going to a gym would be an understatement! I did a lot of research and decided on CF Elite Salisbury! The first staff member I interacted with, Molly, was so pleasant and nice! She answered all my questions and made my anxiety of coming to the gym so much less! I booked a fit assessment with Patrick while deciding if I was going to start with a personal trainer and he was just as amazing! We went over in depth my questionnaire and did the assessment! While I have come a long way in my journey to get healthy, I do still have a lot of work to do - but Patrick never made me feel anything but supported! He listened to what I wanted to accomplish, my fears, answered all my questions and set me up with trainer Egan! I worked with Egan for 4 months and now I’ve been with Issy for 7 months and it has been nothing short of fantastic! The trainers are encouraging while also pushing me past what I think my limits are! They celebrates wins, motivate me to never give up, and make working out fun! I now go to the gym 5 days a week - something I probably would have NEVER done had it not been for the staff interactions I’ve had! There are so many options in this gym, the people are so positive, and it’s has been a GREAT experience for me so far! You will not be disappointed if you choose CF Elite Salisbury!

Poor management. Aquatics pool has been closed for quite some time due to repair work, with no one knowing when it will be done. Therefore, all classes: swim lessons, water aerobics have moved to the swim lanes, generally leaving three lanes open to swimmers, with no controls in place, meaning inconsiderate swimmers in the lanes for far too long. No notifications on the website about the construction, no email informing members of what is going on, you discover it when go there and the lanes are all full. And the enigmatic schedule is on some small placard at the gym. Why not post the schedule on the website? How about instituting a reservation system while this gets sorted out...literally no concern to the disruption. Oh and if you want to put your membership on hold while they sort this out, they charge $10.00 a month.

Nice big gym with lots of equipment. Never have to wait for an elliptical. Women’s weight room could use more weights but there’s rarely more than two people in there at a time. Only real issue is hygiene. In the woman’s bathroom, they just replaced the faucets and the new ones aren’t touchless. Paper towel roll sits on the sink rather than in a dispenser. Toilets aren’t touchless either. And rather than wipes to clean the equipment they have spray bottles and paper towels, which run out. Gyms are germ factories. They should do a better job preventing the spread of illnesses.

Disrespectful Approach and Child Frightened
For the first time, I decided to take my 3-year-old son to the Kids Space after his swimming lessons. Upon arrival, a staff member informed me that I needed to register my son at the front desk before we could stay there, which seemed reasonable.
However, the General Manager, entered the room and abruptly shouted, "YOU CAN’T STAY HERE, YOU CAN’T STAY HERE." Confused but compliant, I proceeded to the front desk to register my son. The front desk staff assured me that we could now return to the Kids Space, so we did.
Within five minutes of being back in the Kids Space, the General Manager returned, repeating his previous statement, "YOU CAN’T STAY HERE, YOU CAN’T STAY HERE." Despite my explanation that I had registered my son, he continued to speak to me in the same aggressive manner. Eventually, he clarified that parents were not allowed to stay with their children in the Kids Space.
This information had not been communicated by any staff member prior, nor had the GM mentioned it during his initial outburst. His aggressive and disrespectful behavior was unsettling and entirely unnecessary. My son, frightened by the situation, and I left the facility feeling disrespected and disappointed. This experience highlighted the significant lack of respect and professionalism exhibited by the General Manager towards clients.

With the new ownership, and since the plandemic, the gym has gotten a lot of new equipment and they have built many new exercise spaces for all different types of athletes, you can't really beat it for the price. The men's locker room is a bit ehhh but that's a very hard thing to completely renovate since it would basically shut the gym down for a lot of people. The gym's money is better spent on equipment and upkeep of amenities rather than just a space to scrub your ass, but the steam room has been working for a while now, and the sauna is always hot. The new manager is a hard charger for sure. Ignore all the one-star reviews from the grumpy old pickleball players, the gym doesn't deserve a one-star review because a part-time employee got a schedule wrong or something.

READ YOUR CONTRACT! First, they make it almost impossible to cancel membership, as you must submit written notice, post marked 30 days in advance. If it’s 31 days then you’ll owe them for both months, and they will charge late fees while you attempt to contest any charges.. Also, if you contact them via website, it’s a 3rd party and their customer service can’t help you, but it takes at least 7 days for them to respond. Also, on top of your annual membership fee, they will increase your monthly membership fees after 1 year, and will do so without any notice. And last but not least, if you try to cancel within 1-year of signing up they will charge an additional fee for cancellation. So, enjoy your fees and good luck if you wish to cancel your membership.

I've been a member, off and on, for over 20 years. It's changed hands 3 times. I am so frustrated with the arthritic pool being down again. Since the beginning of December, the arthritic pools has been closed again!!! It needs another new heater, i believe. We were told it would be 3 weeks to fix. Seems like a long time to me. While we have been waiting. The ceiling has collapsed for the 3rd time, in the same area. I joined this gym because of the warm arthritic pool for my arthritis, lymes disease and scoliosis. With the pool closed myself and many others are struggling with joint pain and stiffness I've made numerous complaints with whoever is at the desk. I've tried to talk to Derek, the manager but he's unfriendly and has many excuses. I'm paying for a membership that I haven't used for about a month now.

The staff here have been nothing but kind to me. I recently signed up at this gym and made it my home gym as it’s the closest to my house. They are in the process of renovating and have had a lot to deal with in terms of computers not working and machines not working. It’s not their fault as they are technically a new location, as choice fitness took over BSC. For all that they have going on there they are handling it the best they can. I would highly recommend this gym as the layout of the gym is gorgeous and they have more than 5 star potential in the future once the gym is fully renovated!

I was a member of this gym for over a decade until today. The new ownership has invested in giving the gym the appearance of a place you would want to work out without the substance.
For most of the past year more than half of the stairstep machines have been completely broken, or at least malfunctioning.
Two of the Racquetball courts were converted into a space for boxing that never gets used. Another one of the cords is soon to be converted.
Management shows a general disregard for their long-term paying customers. In addition, the monthly expense of working out here was increased. At least some of this increase seems to have been used to pay additional employees to stand behind the desk with no clear responsibilities.

I've been at this facility since the early 2000's and seen it go thgrough some pretty low times through several different ownership groups. But these guys have been the best to sfar - they are really reinvesting in the property - pool area has been cleaned up real nice not ot mentions several other areas of the property. Prices is reasonable for the area and hours are great - late hours during the week really work to offloadf the busy pool times so you can actually get a lane to yourself easdily enough! I couldn't find the lap pool schedule on Choice Fitness's website, so I stopped at the desk on Friday, August 2. Ty, Sam, & Patrick were there. They couldn't find it online, either. I didn't have my phone so I couldn't take a photo of the schedule at the desk. I asked if they could make me a copy. They said the gym spends too much money making copies so they can't do that. No offer to take a photo with one of their phones & text or email it to me. Disappointing that what I thought was a simple request could not be resolved. Clear that no one at the desk cared about helping me; too much trouble.

A gym that is all about profits, and not about the people! Take for example, their group exercise programs. By bringing in Les Mills programing, they promote the most dumbed down version of exercise possible, and the masses eat it up beacuse they know no better! Their goal is simply to pack as many bodies into the classroom as possible. I feel badly for all of those who are destroying their bodies, but are deceived into thinking that they got a great workout! This is what happens when the gym is only thinking of the bottom line, and not actually concerned with teaching people's bodies to function optimally. Also, watching the young and inexperienced personal trainers work with members is a painful experience to watch!

I come here for the pool. It’s solid. However be aware: they are increasingly adding outside swim classes and teams in the lap lanes which makes it really difficult for those of us who work 9-5 to get a good after-work workout in. There’s usually only two lanes available for open swim and half the time they’re occupied by water walkers who I wish would use the non-lap pool instead. Happy to share lanes but it ends up feeling really claustrophobic at times.

I joined last summer when there were fewer teams/lessons and feel that I signed up under a false impression of how open their pool is. No one told me youth swim teams use this facility during the school year. Maybe things will die down again when school is out but I do feel the gym should be more transparent about this up front and post lap and therapy pool schedules on their website.

I do appreciate the open Friday nights! It’s my favorite time to go.

Update December 23 2023
Since becoming Choice Fitness in Salisbury, MA, the new owners continue to show they are serious about making this place like new!
The changes in equipment, services, the pool, PICKLEBALL, exercise classes, and really incredibly helpful staff have made this place first rate. Also, they are not done improving. Whatever they say, you can count on it. Having been a member for 25 plus years and going through the slum lord years, I can assure you this is the best value for anyone who uses the gym.
Congrats to Derrick and the instructors. They have kept the best instructors with one missing. But also added some great new staff.

Hope you guys will bring in the female Olympic barbell that has been requested numerous times to Boston Sports Clubs and now twice to Choice Fitness. There are many female lifters at this gym and having a bar that we are able to hold better with our smaller hands would be very helpful and much appreciated. You already have bumper plates it would be great if you could get this too!

It a nice, clean, well equipped place to workout w/ courteous staff. I use the Racquetball courts a lot, they can use more air circulation - they are too cold in the height of Winter and too warm in the Height of Summer.

It's a little bit of a mixed bag with this facility. Nice equipment, good staff, friendly, helpful. Reasonably well maintained except for the men's shower room area. Maintainance has stopped there, including the steam room that has been broken for months. Attached is a pic that is typical of the condition of the showers. Notice the upside down empty soap dispenser which is a common occcurance. It's a place where you feel you need a shower after you take a shower there.

I initially joined when it was Lat's and decided that the culture wasn't a good fit for me. My partner and I decided to give it another go under new management and haven't been happier since! The management is so accommodating, the employees are all super nice and friendly, and our personal trainer is so professional, relatable, and excellent at helping us achieve our goals for fitness! I highly recommend this gym.

I don’t understand how you can pay this amount for a gym and there are children running around the gym floor like a daycare…. What is happening and why is this allowed? There are even signs saying children under 14 can’t be on the gym floor, why are there children here??? I see the same kids everyday running around and not wiping down any equipment they use…is this a middle school gym as well???? The bball court(always overrun by children) and sauna are nice but when you choose a gym based on those amenities and can’t even enjoy them it’s not great…

I tried to speak with Eric the GM regarding a refund who has been avoiding my calls. I called just a few mins ago to try to speak to him again I was told he was in a “meeting” once again, I told Cole the employee who answered that he was in a meeting an hour ago when I called and he proceeded to tell me he didn’t know where he was. So I asked him what Eric’s hours were and he told me he didn’t know. I then went to ask how he didn’t know his manager hours and his response to me was “I am not his mother” and when I told him that his customer skills were inappropriate he hung up on me! O called back again and no one answered the phone! I have since contacted the Corporate office in New York as well! This club has a lot of bad reviews because the staff aren’t equipped to run the establishment! What a shame!

Just moved to the seacoast area 5,1,22. around 1pm I previously called and spoke with someone and I was interested in trying the gym out and the gentleman told me that to just come in and I could have a free 5-day pass and just go to the front desk and fill out a waiver. I arrived to the front desk and they were two people sitting in the front. the young blonde female acknowledged me and I told them that I called about a day pass, and she was just being very rude and asking me all questions basically asking me if I lived in the area, and acting like I shouldn't be there. She said you have to fill out this app and just pointed to it not even helping me or anything like that, so I tried to make light of the situation and just fill out the app. Once I was done she goes okay you're all set and I was like okay can you show me around? and she just pointed to the locker room and said that's the locker room that's the gym and that's it. I feel that with new clients that you should be putting your best foot forward and be positive and very helpful instead of rude and disrespectful like you did not want to be there. Will not be back. Also the place was very dirty as well.

Most if not all of these positive reviews are from this company forcing their employees to hunt them down. I'm not recommending this gym. They are thieves. I put in my cancellation to my account or membership 8 months ago and I got a charge on my card of $84.97. Which took 2 wks to straighten out. Then the Saturday following I got another charge of $154.97. Imagine how madening that was? Especially when I was sick with covid-19 and had to quarantine afterwards leaving me 4 weeks without wages. Talk about insult to injury.

They've been charging me since December when they reopened without any notice of which I'm aware. After the closure last March I got a refund from my credit card provider, and blocked any further payment. Today I discovered the new payments when checking my account on another matter. I'm wondering how they (the new outfit) started charging me without authorization? They should change their name having inherited a legacy of ill will.

They reopened in December of 2020 and initially they seemed to be taking Covid-19 protocols seriously, but lately you can see 50% of members wearing no mask or pulling it down so that it does not cover their nose and mouth. I've tried to call management's attention to this issue but they seem to be more interested in collecting membership fees, to make up for last year's loss, than in implementing state-mandated protocols and protecting their member's health. It is very disappointing as I've been a member for many years and I'd like to see this place remain open, but their disregard for the ongoing health crisis shows that they only care about members as long as they can charge us membership fees, at the risk of spreading a lethal virus. I will follow-up with town and state authorities.

How do I cancel when you closed the doors with no warning. I canceled my family accout months ago and because I went in by myself they only canceled half the membership how does that make sense. I signed up myself for 2 people when I cancel I just assume I canceled the entire membership later after covid shutdown I get charged for 2/3s the membership fee. Now I have to go back to to cancel at a gym that is not open. If I get charged next month. I will have to take legal action. I signed up for a gym in Salisbury not a gym 45 minutes from me. There is no reason I cannot cancel over the phone especially in these times

Get an email on Friday from Town Sports stating they are filing bankruptcy but are still open for business. Go this morning and find an empty parking lot and a notice taped to the front door saying the Salisbury operation is closed. But they’ll open with new local management soon and give us a free month. Really?! They gave NO notice to the members. Now we have to contact far away branches to cancel our membership because they didn’t give us any contact number to help.

Permanently Closed & For Good Reason. It was filthy and the Management of the club did not allow this club to operate at full potential. The recording says due to Real Estate Reasons the club is Permanently Closed. If someone who could manage a club properly and weed out the trash and low ballers from this club, it would have great potential. Not surprised at all.at it's closing . Owners and Management continued to ignore customer reviews in regards to clean locker rooms, new equipment, and procedure updates. I hope someone with a passion for a clean gym can open and reclaim this club and hire cleaners who actually can do their job properly. RIP Latitude Salisbury.

I am thrilled to have the club open under Covid safety rules. The staff are doing an amazing job answering constant ringing phones while trying to greet clients at the desk. Some of these clients are rude and impatient and are forgetting that staff too have corporate rules to follow. I use the pool 5 days a week. The cleaning staff are tireless in their sanitation routine and I have no concerns about Covid safety.

I wrote this on Facebook and stand by it:

"During the CoVid lockdown I canceled my membership at the beginning of July. with 2 emails to the listed customer service rep Shawn Burns. Thinking this a completed task I did not open a spam email that required me to send a letter on go in person. I was charged for September.

I had thought I'd go back when my economic situation improved as we're move out of look down. That will not happen."

UPDATE; "I went in to the Salisbury branch to cancel. I washing 2 people who were in exactly the same situation I was in. one of them was a elderly woman in a wheelchair who was still recuperating from CoVid.

A woman in a wheelchair who is recovering from CoVid was forced to appear in person to cancel/freeze her membership.

Let that sink in.

On top of all that I was charged a 10 cancellation fee. I actually don't take issue with that as a policy under normal circumstances. These are not normal circumstances."

We are facing unprecedented times due to Covid-19. With that being said, BSC has gone above and beyond to accommodate my family and I. I’ve had minor issues in the past, where the customer service immediately straightened the issue out and even gave me a free shirt! Their machines and bathrooms are always clean. I’m big on cleanliness and avoid run of the mill gyms due to lack of sanitary conditions. They recently installed new paper towel dispensers to reduce the spread of Covid. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. I will continue to use BSC’s facility if they continue to operate at this level of professionalism.

I have been a member of this gym since 2008 and I wouldn't go anywhere else! They have SO many pieces of great equipment-cardio machines, strength, a huge weight floor, a women's only room, tennis and racquetball facilities, pools, a basket ball court, and many other features that other gyms in the area can't even compete with. People are looking for a reason to complain about the rates increasing when BSC took over ownership of the gym, but honestly, otherwise it's never gone up once since I opened my membership here in 2008 and wages and the cost of living have increased since then, so it's totally understandable that they needed to raise the prices a little bit to cover those expenses. It's a great value and you aren't going to get all the awesome free classes and perks anywhere else, that you get at BSC in Salisbury. I've known a lot of the employees for many years and they are nice people, and work hard to keep the gym clean and in working order. It's not BSC's fault that they inherited the gym when the roof over the pool was in disrepair and they are worked hard to get it open as soon as they could. Anyone who has ever had home or business repairs know that those situations never go as planned and the pool is now open and ready for use. I'm grateful for the gym being there to keep me and my family healthy.

This place is becoming unbearable. Not only did we get hit with a $10 increase into the New Year, but the equipment is always broken. I would expect much better from a gym of this magnitude, and its sad they cant get it right.

To all the complaints lol. Everytime I've brought something to someone's attention it's been taken care of...Do you possibly think your delivery on said issue has anything to do with the way they react and take priority in your request... Yes it's customer service but with the amount that continue to go and the lack of physical evidence at least from my end . It sounds like your trying to be mad about something.

Incredibly disappointed in the communication of BSC and the staff. Definitely miss the old Latitude ownership. We had our membership rates increased by 22% with only a couple weeks notice to make a decision. We also only found out after asking since we overheard of the rate change and were never notified. This took weeks to resolve with someone who didnt know what they were doing and then they left the company. Little to nothing to show for it as well. Equipment keeps breaking. Saunas and hot tubs don't work. Showers have mold. Very poor rollout of communication and treatment of membership.

Have been a member for a few years and using their pool only. It was bad and is becoming worse with every year, yet they increase the rate every year. The water temperature in the pool is too low, if you stop swimming intensively you will get too cold. The pool IS dirty most of the time. Things are obviously seen in the pool and no one vacuums it. When complained the response was it gets vacuumed every 3 days. ??!! Ok, if its dirty , do it more often then! The shower curtains were changed first time in many years but no one cares to wash them. The carpet was replaced in the changing room (good), but not in the small private changing room which has mold in it! There is one hook in the shower to hang things, which makes it very inconvenient if you have to help your child to take a shower.

Simply annoyed, Lattitude and Gold's were operated significantly better. Called to inquire about more information on monthly memberships, was hurried off the phone with no care or help from customer service. When speaking to the customer service my questions were constantly ignored and was told they do not do monthly plans when it says its offered on their website. Frustrated and annoyed with what once was a great facility. Would liked to have gone back but will be taking my money elsewhere. Pathetically unprofessional.

I have been going to BSC, previously Lattitude, for 11 years now and it has gone way down hill. I attend this gym for the pool, and the water temperature is never consistent (usually quite cold), I find I'm swimming less and less. I have begun the search for a new facility to join. I was also amazed that they have the audacity to raise our monthly rates after the first of the year while the facility continues to get worse. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
