I’ve been a member for over 8 years now. This location has yet to update a single machine from cybex weight loaded chest presses, back machines, leg machines are from 1990 I think. Every other location has new equipment. Not only is the equipment at North Andover very outdated and probably unsafe but they are BROKEN every other week . Y'all definitely robbers coz you've stolen from me. First month I just need to provide you with an initial payment of 60 bucks which is normal due the fees and tax. I got a subcription plan of 35 bucks monthly, and you debited from my card 60 bucks first month, then second month you charged me 50 dollas and I went there to see why you did it, but nobody got my problem solved, just apologizing and that you were sorry and didnt know the reason, also did not make up at all for it. Obsessed with the hot yoga classes! Danielle’s Prana Hot Vinyasa class is my absolute favorite! I always clear my schedule on Thursday nights to attend. The gym itself is very clean and welcoming. The staff is always super friendly too! Highly recommend.

I love this gym. It seems that most of the complaints in other reviews here are about the cancelation policies and business practices, about that I cannot comment because I have no experience there. People also complain about the locker rooms, which I also don't really use, so I have no opinion there.

What I do have an opinion about is the facility and the equipment and the community of people who go to this place in the morning. It is such a friendly and welcoming place. The machines and equipment are in great condition and they really have everything you need for a workout.

The training staff seem like nice people and while I don't use them, I definitely notice the progress that their clients seem to make.

The morning crowd varies from get in, get out, get to work to some casual chatting and friendliness. It really is a fun place to be in the morning if you want to get in, get it done and get off to work with some friendly people around you.

Finally, I absolutely adore seeing Robin to greet me in the morning at the front desk. She is always so friendly and funny and if you take the time to chat with her you will how much she cares about customer service. With the exception of the odd vacation, Robin is always there in the morning. I want to know this woman's immune system boosting routine because she never takes a sick day. And when she is there, the place is firing on all cylinders.

I highly recommend Choice Fitness in North Andover.

AVOID THIS GYM AT ALL COSTS!

We have been trying to cancel the membership since EARLY November. When my wife first talked to one of the managers, Jamie, she suggested for us to pause the membership for three months and promised that we would only pay a $5 maintenance fee per month. However, that's not how things unfolded. Because of a lack of responsibility & honesty from Jamie, we have now paid THREE months of membership and the yearly fee totalling $140 since the initial conversation. This is ridiculous!

Choice is a small gym with good equipment and lack luster bathrooms. My big issue is that they have predatory policies regarding their membership. You can’t change your membership type even if you don’t have access to the perks you signed up for. There are no options for canceling the membership over the phone or online . You have to visit a branch and pay your cancellation fee plus another month of membership regardless if you already paid for it previously. If you need a gym please look elsewhere and save yourself the trouble .

The Gym has everything you need. The patrons are all nice and the workout experience is a good one. I even like all of the staff until I met Robin. In July my girlfriend and I joined at the Methuen facility. We originally wanted the "Silver" membership but were talked into the "gold" because of all of these wonderful amenities. In the last 3 months we have paid our monthly dues on time and have both paid our yearly dues. In total we have already given this gym over $200 for gym use and that is ok because that is what we originally signed up for. In the past 3 months we have come to realize that all of the amenities that they claim to offer are not available because of Covid and that is OK as well. In the time we have been going we have only used the Methuen facility once (the day we signed up).. We fell in love with the North Andover facility and exclusively use that one. Since we are at the point of only using one gym, none of the amenities, and have already paid or yearly dues we tried to ask for a downgrade to the "Silver" membership this morning and that is when we met the charming Robin. She was anything but helpful. Was extremely rude and would not even consider listening to our reasoning of not needing the gold membership. Frustrated, we walked out the front door. In this time she went out of her way to make a another rude comment and made sure we heard it. This is not how you treat customers in any business and Choice Fitness should be embarrassed. You would think during a pandemic they would maybe want to accommodate paying customers instead of insulting them on the way out the door. Why talk people into a premium service when you cannot use premium amenities. You cannot tan nor even shower there. The ball is in your court Choice Fitness. My name is right here in the open. I hope you would reach out so we can discuss. The way you treat your customers is such a paramount part of business.

UPDATE: They will continue to charge you the monthly fee even after your year is up. Be very aware of their sketchy business practices. To cancel, they make you go to the the location you signed up at with a signed letter, just so you can cancel them form reupping your yearly membership, even if you don't want it. Oh, and they also charge you $100 to cancel if you want out of your contract early. Do yourself a favor and go to Planet Fitness. The gyms are way cleaner and you can leave anytime. I hope I save some of you from making the same mistake I did.

I have been doing personal training Tristan since gyms opened back up. I started with two times a week and have since changed to three times a week. Tristan is very knowledgeable and supportive. With is help today I hit a new PR and I cannot wait to hit another one. I would highly recommend signing up for training with Tristan.

I have tristan as a trainer and he is the best! I have been training with tristan since august and as a result, i can see a lot of changes! Tristan is great- he’s fun to workout with, is extremely personable, funny and makes any workout go by in what seems like 5 minutes. Choice Fitness is the best gym near me, not only because of the variety of machines and equipment, but the personal training program that goes above and beyond. I had the best experience with my personal trainer, Tristan, throughout quaruntine/the summer. I always felt comfortable and was excited for my sessions. I have already seen so much improvement, Tristan really knows what he is talking about and how to significantly aid in your progress. I would reccomend Tristan for any beginner looking to gain knowledge and strength, someone like me who had slight experience, or even someone very experienced just needing some guidance.

My wife and I use the services of a personal trainer Tristan, twice a week of 30 minute PT sesssions. He is very observant and thorough in the training methods. We get full value out of it. There are days .. I don't feel like doing any exercises .. but after the PT session with him I feel so much better and rejuvenated. We plan to continue for a long time to come. Go Tristan !!

I agree with other reviews about terrible policies and poor cleanliness. In order to cancel your membership you either have to show up in person, or go to the post office to get a certified letter. It is sad to know they have not adjusted their policy due to the pandemic, nor are they willing to try. As others have stated, the locker rooms are stale and do not have paper towels. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 because the gym is in good shape and the equipment is all new. Overall the experience at the gym is as expected, but I feel like company policy, customer support efforts, and efforts to keeping the facility clean are more heavily weighted than new equipment.

My daughter set up a gym membership here last year. she didn’t know much about the details. she stopped going and forgot about the account and it went to collections. I dealt with the general manager Jamie she was very professional and understood teenagers can make mistakes. Jamie and Robin took care of the issue that we were having of unresolved payments being moved to collection agency. Due to my teenager forgetting about her membership. I even convinced her to stay in her Membership rather than paying $100 to cancel

Choice in North Andover.. Easy to join online but impossible to cancel. After going to the club three times to cancel account in person, each time being told a manager was not there, was accused of lying about it. Didn't ask for refund just to cancel account because of return to college. Ended up cancelling my account and daughter's account (even ate the $100 cancellation fee to do it). too bad, club was quiet and empty most of the time.

COMICALLY STEREOTYPICAL GYM TRICKS. $ GET CHARGED AFTER YOU CANCEL. When I asked to cancel my membership (prior to moving away) it was never cancelled. My boyfriend quit the same day (his cancelled). When I stopped at the desk after our workout, the staff went over options. I decided to complete the year contract, but asking for no renewal because I'd be relocating. Multiple staff assured me it wouldn't auto-renew after the year. I double checked in-person in following days/weeks. However, I have been charged 2 additional months (+yearly fee).

Then, management was somehow never available to speak with me and didn't return messages. When I did get the manager (2+ months later), he asked me why I didn't sign anything. The staff hadn't asked me to sign. Since I mentioned I worked at a gym in the past, he said I should have known the process and asked to sign something. I didn't realize I was responsible for making sure your staff does things correctly! SO disappointed. Turns out they'll take advantage of you when you quit. Advocate for yourself and don't trust when they say "it's all set"!!!

OLD: Other than the crowds at usual busy-times 5-7pm weekdays, 10-2pm weekends, it's a nice club. A bit small, and no classes other than spin (and additionally priced group training). I got the multi-location membership so this hasn't really impacted me. N Andover staff is pretty friendly and always says hi and bye. Overall, pretty good!

I had to recently cancel my membership and they made the process so difficult. I had to speak to a manager, go back on site and after that they still didn't want to cancel the membership. I had to pay for two extra months, so they wouldn't hit my credit report. They are very aggressive and the blame the process on ABC billing. I have spoken to many people since my experience and I have learned that you have a lot better options in the area than Choice.

Most of the staff is very polite and will say hi and bye to you on your way in and out. The facility is clean as well! But there is one blonde lady that has given me trouble every time we go and it’s been frustrating. My friend was on the week trial period and after 4 days she said it was over. My friend didn’t have her wallet on her at the time so we had to leave. She was rude with no patience so it’s safe to say that my friend will not be joining. Thinking about my membership too...
