I found Luz's Pilates classes when I was looking to expand my prenatal health and wellness routine. While I had always worked out and had an active yoga practice at the time I started, I was new to Pilates. Luz is an incredible teacher - she is very observant and tailors each class to my body, where I am in pregnancy and how I am feeling that day. She has wonderful calming and motivating energy. I look forward to the session each week. After each session, I feel lighter, more aligned and more flexible. I am happy to have started the routine during my pregnancy and know it will be beneficial postpartum and ongoing, too. I highly recommend. Thank you, Luz!

I have come across with Luz's pilates classes when I was looking for a special place where I could join postpartum care and pain and discomfort I had with my back for many years. I couldn't be happier with the expertise and care that Luz is providing. She is very knowledgeable and can see even the smallest changes in my body, which I don't even notice myself. If I could, I would exercise with her 3-4 times per week, as after every class not only I feel stronger, but also happier. I highly recommend Luz to everyone, especially to new moms who need special care after the birth.

I started working with Luz after finding her online and reading her many great reviews about core strengthening and pelvic floor health. Having struggled with lower back issues and a disc herniation, I needed a tailored plan, and she has truly delivered. Over the past two months, her sessions have greatly improved my mobility, deep core strength, and daily movement, and I now wake up with minimal pain. I’ve always wanted to try Pilates and I finally decided to sign up and work with Luz in her studio. I liked the idea that she focused on helping with posture along with the other benefits of Pilates. As someone that sits a lot for work and whose shoulders tend to be rounded I needed help opening up and maintaining my posture and increasing shoulder Strength. A few months in I am already seeing such a difference in not only my posture but also my core strength and muscle definition. I have less back and shoulder pain and these workouts help keep me stronger in my weightlifting exercises. Luz is well informed on all the movements she helps you through and has such a wonderful, calming and motivating energy. I love how I feel relaxed and stronger after each session with her. I’ve worked with Luz for 3 years now, after having a serious knee injury, the menopause, and realising I needed to get serious about my strength and flexibility. She’s a pleasure to work with, and the one-on-one attention means you get the most out of every session. I see Luz while our family is out of the country via zoom. My sessions are intense and joyous. I can feel the difference in my posture after just one session, as well as increased pelvic floor strength due to our two times a week schedule. I used to see Luz in person and was afraid I would not get the same workout virtually, but I was wrong! She keeps me on my toes and I feel great!

After receiving diagnoses of osteoporosis and osteopenia, I began looking for an exercise program that would help improve my balance, strength and flexibility. My numerous lessons with Luz have increased each of those aspects of managing the diagnoses. My posture has improved and my core has become stronger. This makes a huge positive effect on how I use my body throughout the day. Luz' extensive knowledge teaches me how to do each movement correctly to gain maximum benefit. I highly recommend. It’s different to previous class-led pilates that I’ve gone to before and I’ve changed to it from another cardio and strength class.
First I love the stretching equipment! You really improve (with instruction) on how to get the body position and movement right to benefit the right muscles in the right place and how to align your breathing with these movements. A Pilates group class or app is simply not as effective here. I really feel I’ve been stretched to the max at a session without pain the following day.
Secondly I am not well coordinated ( mind and body not well connected which puts me off group classes) and so I’ve found Luz to be knowledgeable, observant, adaptable and patient so she knows when to change the instruction so I get it (!) and move my body to the right position etc., without me feeling like an idiot. I just find it more bespoke and attentive to my needs.
Finally, an hour of effective stretching and breathing with this method really sets up my attention and work focus for the day and along with my cycling and ‘zoe’ app eating is really helping me lose weight and shape up!
Highly recommend and costs well worth it due to the many benefits to me.

I have been going to Luz for private pilate sessions for about 2 years now. Doing pilates on the reformer is something I had always wanted to try because I thought it would compliment my fitness routine but it always seemed so daunting to me. Then I came across Luz who not only was a private pilates instructor but she also has a Kinesiology background, so I decided to give it a try ...and I have to say I am so glad to have found her.
Luz is a person with a very big heart and she has a very calm, peaceful demeanor to her. She genuienly wants the best for each of her clients and it shows with the personalized programs that she builds and modifies by her continuously observing your body movements and limitations. The most personalized touches she has is not only her frequent verbal cuing, but also her hands on guidance to make sure you learn the movements correctly and fully...she also doesn't let you cheat :). I not only enjoy my work out sessions with her but also the conversations we get to share when we have our time together. Luz is amazing so if you have been thinking about pilates and know all the benefits it can bring, reach out to Luz immediately...you won't be disappointed!

I’ve started taking Pilates classes with Luz in 2013, and my life has completely changed. She is an excellent professional, with in-depth knowledge of anatomy and body movements. I took in-person classes with her in Brazil, Canada, and I currently take online classes. In her classes, both in person and online, Luz always makes sure that I am performing the exercises correctly. I started doing Pilates with Luz six weeks postpartum after my second baby and haven’t stopped since. My youngest is almost three, and I truly believe that due to this consistent deep core and body work, I was able to regain my strength, alignment, and pelvic floor health. Luz is a wonderful pilates instructor and has helped me so much during pregnancy and postpartum (now 2 years post, have gradually increased intensity with a focus on core strength & stability). Cannot recommend her enough. She does everything from mat exercises to the reformer, tower, and now the CoreAlign machine. Luz listens and tailors sessions to what I need.
