I use the Dedham club for the pool, Jacuzzi and steam room. The pool is the only one that gets a good grade. The deck around the pool is disgusting. Chairs haven't been cleaned in at least a year, ALL lounge chairs are broken. The deck has standing water that's been there forever. The drains are clogged and disgusting. The Jacuzzi is either cold, or half the jets don't work. Today ALL of the jets didn't work. And they just hired a Aquatic Manager, who says he's not on charge of these issues???? And didn't bother passing on mine AND OTHERS concerns. And they AGAIN raised the membership!!!! So much for customer service!

Just spoke to someone in membership services and he was not very pleasant. He sounded like he was not happy answering my questions about membership pricing. Thank you for helping me make my decision. No Thanks!!!!

Staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This is one of the nicest health clubs I've seen. It isn't quite equinox, but it also doesn't cost a million dollars a month. Some of the other patrons are inconsiderate, talking out loud on cellphones and such, but you're always going to have a few jerks and there's not too many of them. There are far more dummies at PF. For the most part, people are nice and considerate. The men's locker rooms could be a smidge cleaner and could use about 10% more maintenance like fixing broken locker doors promptly. I suppose that's more expensive and I don't understand how they make money anyway, the place is about an acre in size and it is never full, even when the parking lot is jammed. It must be from the tennis fees.

I really like this place. It's not a shiny modern chain gym but more of a quirky local business with a lot of things to offer (tennis, pool, cardio, strength, sauna etc). Fitness is not crowded at all and all equipment is well maintained. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and chill. No corporate BS here. What more could you ask for.

After being loyal members of DHAC for several years, my husband and I cancelled our membership because of extremely disrespectful behavior by the senior trainer towards my husband. The day after the 2024 election this man verbally attacked him, without provocation, for what he assumed were his political views. We were shocked by this total lack of professionalism on the part of a staff member toward whom we had always shown respect. We then joined the local YMCA and were pleased to find an excellent facility at half the price!

We love the swimming program for children, here! The water is warm and so is the entire pool area. The instructors are kind and funny. Parents can observe in the pool area or in a separate room outside. The showers are not crowded. There is plenty of parking and the reception is well staffed and organized. Our kids want to come to their lessons and they made a lot of progress! We moved them from a different program at a different pool and we are so glad we did. They used to fight us and refuse to go to swim class because instructors were strict and the water was cold. But at the Dedham Health and Athletic Complex Center our kids have everything they need to feel confident and comfortable. Thanks a lot!!!

DHAC is a place dreams come true physically. I have been a member since the 1980's, and the owner's have worked tirelessly to improve on what has already been provide to their clients. The exercise room notably has the latest equipment and weights, and also includes a caring staff that is trained to assisti in weight loss, cardio, and strengthening training as well. I have utilized the in house salon for several social occasions that I was attending to look my vey best. After a fracture and ligament. damage, my Primary Care doctor, prescribed physical therapy in the adult pool for several months. This therapy was highly effective and I made a full recovery. There are oher clubs in the vicinity that offer.as much as DHAC but I didn't feel the tenderness and care that I have received at my own club of 40 plus years. I encourage you to come and share with me in this wonderful uplifting place.

I am an older retired adult. I have met so many wonderful people in my classes. The trainers are incredibly helpful and caring. There are so many choices for classes and all have wonderful trainers facilitators. There are two pools including one just for adults. There are also several jacuzzis and saunas as well as a steam room. It is the best decision I made post retirement. I highly recommend this gym.

Great place. It’s clean and there’s a ton to do. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There’s two indoors pools (one of them is salt water), indoor jacuzzi, sauna, lots of indoor tennis courts, plenty of outdoor tennis courts, indoor racket ball, an indoor track, indoor basketball courts, a huge facility great gym with plenty of equipment, a martial art center… the list goes on. They even have a huge water park with wave pool. Not to mention a physical rehab clinic that’s attached I’ll also say do a good job with the upkeep. I’m sure that I’m leaving out a ton of programs and other amenities. It’s definitely a club and not just a gym, the price is reasonable considering the size of the facility. It’s a place that I look genuinely forward to going each day for a workout.

I’ve been in contact about getting a tennis racquet restrung at their Tennis Shop. First of all, Tristan at the front desk is incredibly helpful and went above and beyond communicating questions I have with the employees at the Tennis Shop. He actually was there when I called back the next day to ask about the recommended gauge/tension and he not only remembered me but he also took initiative and asked if he could go over and ask the employee in the Tennis Shop . He even thought to ask the Tennis Director about racquet gauge since I wasn’t sure what I was looking for. Above and beyond customer service from Tristan. Thank you, Tristan!!
In the Tennis Shop Arjoon was incredibly patient, friendly, and flexible. Thank you, Arjoon!! Impressive customer service for a high schooler!!

Swimming classes are overloaded. There are not enough instructors and too many students per class. As a result a child will only get 5-7 mins instruction time per session. Not worth the $ you pay. In addition most instructors do not have any control over their class. The instructors also change from time to time and that causes the kids to be very confused about what they are learning. Facilities are Ok otherwise.

Love this place. I’m brand new to taking the gym seriously so I signed up for the wellness program. It’s a hand holding program to get you comfortable with gym equipment and I’m so glad I did. The staff is top notch. It’s clean. The locker rooms are nice. My one thing and it’s a small thing, the water pressure in the women’s showers. Maybe I just like to feel a little beat up by spray but they don’t cut it. It’s a small thing and I don’t think they can control it. Also sometimes there is a vibration and the water vibrates as well. Don’t know if it’s construction or just the pipes. Anyway if you’re thinking about joining do it.

I use the gym space here and so far like it other than the fact that the 2 men who regularly work the early morning shifts during the week never say good morning or greet me as a member walking into the gym..it’s very uncomfortable because I always say good morning to them but just don’t get a response back. Very unprofessional. Only person who seems to actually want to be at work is the nice guy who works mornings on Saturdays

I have had plenty of Physical Therapy before coming to DHAC. I thought I had excellent PT before. DHAC…is head and shoulders above the organizations that helped me with PT in the past.
Recently, I tore a groin muscle and hamstring playing tennis….ouch!!! I was assigned to William as my Senior Physical Therapist. The level of professionalism that I received from William and the Admin Staff, coupled with the extensive re-hab and workout machinery, provided me with the opportunity to accelerate my recovery while thoroughly enjoying the experience. I strongly recommend DHAC for PT and Spine re-hab issues. BTW, the athletic facilities are extensive, very clean, and well run. I should have joined this club years ago.

these people lie about who is actually able to use their courts. non-members are required to pay an extra $30 to use the court even though their website says nothing to differentiate between costs for members and non-members. they are incredibly misleading about pricing - do not come here!!

Hi, I’ve been a member for round 10 years. I’ve had nothing but helpful services from all the staff. I’ve had a back problem and the staff, Brynne especially, has always been there for me and my concerns.
They’ve been updating the gym for some while now. Ya it is expensive but worth it for all it does for a client. The only bad thing I have to say involves the chiropractor, Josh Helm, keep away. He used his machine on my back and I’ve been in pain for 1.5 years. He has nothing to do with the gym itself however because of his location it’s easy to just see him there if you’re a member. Please, if you value you back health Stay Away. He knows as much about chiropractic practices as Trump does about how to treat this virus!! Member Tom Mount. Love the gym and staff.

DHAC is a really outdated mediocre health club. Membership fees are on the high side. Guest fees are absurdly high. Staff is generally clueless and inconsiderate. There are lots of activities here (karate dojo, kids club, climbing wall, mini water park). Lots of tennis courts and court fees are very reasonable, but courts are rarely cleaned. The gym is large and they have recently put in new equipment. Locker rooms/showers are dingy and in disrepair (broken shower heads, no hot water, smelly carpeting, no soap, etc). No towels. There are just so many nicer clubs around.

The summer club pool really needs some scrubbing. Saw dirt and poop in water, no one who worked there cared! Neither did the hundreds of kids swimming in the filth ! No wonder the diseases caused by pools are exploding exponentially ! Don’t let your kids near the place!

I have been a member of Dedham health and athletic complex for the last 16 years. The services offered by this facility are extensive. The best way to see it is schedule a visit and see for yourself.

I highly recommend the physical therapy services as Margie and her staff have kept me upright and mobile!

Older facility compared to some of its competitors in the $100+ a month membership range. Still, this center is clean, has plenty of activities to do, and is staffed with friendly personnel.

I can't thank Margie and her staff enough. They made a long hard road a lot easier and shorter with the best results. Whenever I had a question they always had the answer. It's funny cause they would always tell me I'm doing good, to me they are the ones doing good cause I'M just following their instructions.

After being a member here for 4 years I finally had to end my contract and move on to another gym. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed my time here and the facilities and some of the staff are great and the equipment and pools etc are well maintained and updated consistently. What was not appreciated especially for a member as long as I have been one, was the fact this place increases its dues for members without telling you they are doing it. Over the course of 4 years my dues went up an average of $20 per year and the last increase was almost $30. According to the membership department, this is hidden language in your contract that they can freely increase dues whenever they want. Besides the fact you pay what amounts to a car payment for a Family Membership and then on top of that to even get in 3 car payments plus annual dues. Then if you want to add swimming lessons for the kids or any specialty classes there are more fees on top of this. If you want to join their "Summer Club", try adding on another $2000 for the summer which is outrageous. After all of the money I shelled out and the actual use I got out of this place, it is in the end not worth the money for what you get.

Dedham has something for everyone. I really like going for the tennis, you can't beat the court time fees and there are 11 courts, which is crazy. On the side there is a basketball court and two pools for me to cross train in. It definitely costs more than Planet Fitness but the cost is worth it for me.
