I don't know why I haven't started coming here sooner!! Everyone is so welcoming and inclusive. All of the trainers are so kind and knowledgeable. It's an amazing community they've built. Would recommend to anyone at any skill level!

I was new to the gym and visiting from out of town. Everyone there, both staff and clients were so friendly, the trainer was super knowledgeable and patient with a new person. He was so considerate of my injuries and spent more time with modifications and extra stretches without making me feel singled out. The technology they have for measuring depth and velocity with lifts was really cool, and I think would be so motivating for me. I'm disappointed I don't live nearby because I would be a client for sure!! But I would totally recommend Dirty Water Fitness to anyone wanting to get stronger, feel confident, and feel in safe hands when wanting to get strong while working through a recovered injury. It's hard for me to feel confident in a gym space and I left feeling motivated, strong, and for sure sore in the best way!

It would be hard to overstate how different Dirty Water Fitness is from other gyms and fitness businesses in the area. The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and take their job seriously, but always without judgment. The goals for clients are always about real strength and health, not physical appearance. And, best of all, the small group training hour is fun and filled with camaraderie. Highly recommend!

Iβm so happy I checked out DWF and joined the 3Xweek small group personal training program. Iβm mid 40s and Incant believe how much Iβve learned and how strong Iβve gotten. I can now deadlift 225, bench 135 and squat 315. Tripled my strength across the board in 6 months! Also coaches and other members are really cool and friendly. Surpassed all expectations!

This gym became one of my happy places... Now, I could talk all day about the support of the trainers, my peers in small group training, and the community at Dirty Water Fitness.
I sought a training option that would help educate me on why certain exercises/lifts were chosen and on proper form, how to train in a way that actually promoted progress and growth in my strength, and made me comfortable enough to pursue those goals without stressing about the little things. Not only are each of the trainers excellent guides (in each of their different styles), but the technology and equipment at the gym further support those goals. I started with 1-on-1 sessions while I found my footing back in the gym and then joined the small group training sessions. Both are handled professionally, with enthusiasm, kindness, and levity. I am consistently pushed and helped in achieving my goals here!
Not only will you be able to reach your fitness goals at Dirty Water Fitness, but you will also have so much fun doing it! I can say it is 100% worth every penny and second that you invest in it!

Best gym evaaaa! When I moved here I was looking for a supportive and motivating gym community, and boy did I find it at Dirty Water! Trainers are awesome. People are awesome. They foster a great community in addition to being highly knowledgeable and skilled athletic trainers. Small group personal training gives me the social atmosphere of a workout class while allowing for 1-on-1 attention from the trainers, especially helpful for me as I have a few complex injuries they help me work around. I feel stronger than ever after 6 months working with them. Can't recommend enough.

The atmosphere, community, and expertise here is unlike any other. Everyone, from the trainers to the other clients, are genuinely great people who are happy to help, encourage, and motivate during each workout.
I've been going to Dirty Water Fitness since 2022 for the Small Group Personal Training classes. I love the confidence and strength I've gained here over the years. I used to be very uncomfortable and intimidated in a weight room or typical gym due to the fear of not knowing how to use most equipment.
Dirty Water Fitness is truly a great fit for everyone including those just starting out or the ones with big weightlifting goals.

I've worked with Tanner for just over a year now and it's been an incredibly rewarding journey. I entered the gym never really having strength trained but wanting to get stronger to support my long distance running. Not only has working with Tanner changed the way I run, but I can see and feel how my body has gotten stronger in my day-to-day. From the owners, to all the trainers, the gym dogs and the quality equipment- this gym has it all! As a Physical Therapist who is picky about which gyms and trainers I refer to, this is one I would never hesitate to tell anyone about! When you go here, you get special attention on your form with one on one or small group classes and they can adjust or modify anything that is needed. And they have built an amazing community, I always feel welcome popping my head in to say hi and Iβm always met with a smile from the members and the trainers. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!!

My biggest regret with DWF is not joining sooner!!!! If you've been waiting for a sign to join, let this review be it. Sara, Tanner, Josh, and Joe have built an incredible space, and whether you are just starting or looking to get stronger, this place is it.
They offer small group classes (6 people max) and 1:1 personal training, and you can't go wrong with either.
Small group is an incredibly fun time. You get to train with other badass people who are fun, kind, and encouraging; coaches are always checking that everyone is performing the exercises safely with proper form; and most importantly, the workouts are HARD and they will push you (in the best way).
Prior to DWF, I trained mostly on my own, but coming here allowed me to take it up a notch, and I've since developed confidence and strength I didn't know I could have. 5 stars all around for DWF!

I spent a summer training with Dirty Water Fitness while I was in Boston. It's awesome! Josh and his crew are very welcoming and knowledgable, and the small group classes (typically with ~ 4 people) are a nice size -- you get good company, but don't get lost in a crowd. The workouts are well structured and thought out. Facility is brand new with top of the line Elko plates etc, and a cool 'Perch' system that tracks data about your lifts. Highly recommended!

I am a huge fan of Dirty Water Fitness. I usually work with Joe or Sara, but have had classes/sessions with Josh and Tanner. And 100% without a doubt I'd be happy to be trained by any of them. The other clients I've met are also all friendly. Plus occasionally Coach Achilles will be there, and he always brightens my day!
I highly recommend the group classes if you aren't looking for a specific workout regime, but if you are then the personal sessions are phenomenal.

I met Joe and Sarah in the pre-Dirty Water Fitness days. I was drawn in by their caring spirit and the willingness to overcome obstacles during the pandemic to assure my goals continued to be met. I worked with Joe, with a goal of general health and strength. And then we began lifting weights, and wow was I hooked! I remember when deadlifting 125 seemed impossible, and with Joe I achieved a PR of 320# post the pandemic forced break. Dirty Water Fitness is a community of caring trainers and great clients in a comfortable, inclusive environment, with no intimidation or judgement (I am 56 yr old). And, when I moved from Cambridge, Joe made the effort to assure I found a new trainer in my new city, by personally making the contact and establishing the connection. That is caring beyond the usual in today's world. I wish Dirty Water Fitness the best of the best with their expansion. Definitely a gem for the Cambridge fitness scene.

I trained with Joe Adelman briefly at another gym back in 2019 but then changed jobs and the gym wasn't nearby so had to stop going. At the start of the pandemic Joe reached back out to me and asked if I was interested in remote training. He's been developing my training program ever since (and it continues to be remote since I've moved out of the state). Short story is that it's been awesome and I'm so happy he reached out!
At the start of training I was recovering from a lingering foot injury. Joe was great at coming up with exercises to work my legs without making my foot any worse. Eventually my foot got better and gyms opened back up so we moved from bodyweight exercises into weight training. The whole way through Joe's been great about giving feedback when I send him videos of my lifts and adjusting workouts based on my schedule. Since I started training with him I've put on easily 20lb of muscle and am the strongest I've ever been! I'd definitely recommend him to anyone looking to get fit. If you put in the work, he'll make sure you're doing the right things so that you get results.

Everyone at Dirty Water Fitness is incredible!!! I have been going to them since they opened and the results have been amazing. I dont even recognize myself anymore my strength and endurance has been unrecognizable. Aside from how much better I look and feel with my body I am truly so grateful for the trainers and the atmosphere at DWF.
