Came here to try out the gym and potentially change in scenery. Just wanted a day pass or 3-7 day pass like most gyms provide. At first, staff was friendly. Once I got to the table; it went to money. Can’t try the gym out for a day unless you pay $20 and if you want a 7 day pass, you need to sign up for a membership and get a refund if you don’t like it before 7 days. I have managed at a gym for 2 years. I know the tricks and called the sales person out on it. Even with that, he did not want to provide me with a day pass just to try out the gym before buying. I’ll stick to what I know at my current gym.

It is a great gym and very friendly staff, (2022) 3 years later update: still has friendly staff and is a decent gym, but here are some things I’ve noticed for the worst, they turned the water filters off once they turned red ( definitely don’t clean them) they do have a very nice cleaning lady that does fantastic when she does work but there’s only so much she can do, she does have a lovely personality I would say, but she can only do so much, I just don’t get why they would raise prices from $11 to $20 a month with a $100yearly fee, pretty disappointed with the progress of the gym, when it first opened this place was amazing, overall it’s not the worst gym by far but I personally think they could do much better, probably because how underpaid the gym industry is. To say the least if they can’t get their act togetherI will be switching gyms in the near future, It just bothers me what this place once was to what it’s becoming, hoping they can do better and I can change this review!

Gyms shouldn't be over 80 degrees, especially all summer having a sign saying heat advisory shouldn't happen. Im paying way too much for them not to turn on the ac, let alone turn up the fans.

The hours are abysmal and they turn the lights off on you 20-30 minutes before they close, Im paying for the whole time don't try to push me out while I'm working out during the set times, let alone that being a safety hazard.

The 100 dollar fee to join is beyond ridiculous as well. This is a scam gym planet fitness does a better job and for cheaper.

The Foxboro location has become my sanctuary at 5:00 AM every week day and also on Saturday and Sunday. But the weekdays are especially great. Michelle at the front desk is the absolute pinnacle of employee excellence. For starters, I don’t recall her ever not being there; she sets and exceeds the standard for punctuality, preparedness and consistency. What really sets her apart is her attitude; if every business treated every customer the way she treats every customer, they would see a marked, positive difference in their bottom line. She is attentive, she listens and absorbs any comment you might have about the gym and is always there to offer advice, solutions or just a kind word - and she does all of this with a smile on her face. In a world where customer service seems to mean little to so many operations, your location has a true gem of an example of the opposite. - Brian

I drove 30 min to workout with my friend on a free pass and when they heard that I was not interested in a membership they would not honor the free pass that they gave out. Absolutely frustrating! The guy was a robot with no sympathy. He would just keep on saying you can buy a one day pass for $20. I have used guest passes at the YMCA, LA Fitness, and Lifetime and they all don't care for your reasoning for using a free pass. It says no where when signing up for the free pass that you must be interested in a membership. Would never come back here again if they are so business minded and can't even be human beings first.

Edit – In response to your reply:
Nowhere does it say that someone must be interested in signing up for a membership just to enter the gym. What if I simply wanted to work out with my friends and enjoy the facility for a day? I wasn’t even given a chance to experience the gym. I was treated more like a sales opportunity than a human being.

You really couldn’t allow a kid who hadn’t seen his friends in a long time, and drove 30 minutes to be there, to use the gym for just one hour? Maybe if I had a positive experience, I would have told others, “Hey, I had a great time at this gym, you should check it out.” But that opportunity is gone because you were too focused on whether I would immediately buy a membership.

Next time, try to see people as people, not just potential sales. Take accountability and do better. Please don’t try to justify what happened, just reflect and improve.

I was minding my own business at the gym, going through my usual workout routine. The gym had become a sanctuary for me, a place where I could focus on my physical health and clear my mind. On this particular day, I was feeling good about my progress and was determined to push myself a little harder. I started with some cardio, then moved on to the free weights section, where I began my strength training exercises.

As I was in the middle of my sets, I noticed one of the gym workers walking around, checking on the equipment and occasionally chatting with members. I didn't think much of it and continued with my routine. Suddenly, the worker approached me and, without any provocation, called me a "twig." I was taken aback by the comment. It was unexpected and hurtful, especially since I had been working so hard to improve my strength and fitness.

The worker's remark stuck with me for the rest of my workout. I couldn't help but feel self-conscious and demotivated. I had always believed that the gym was a place for self-improvement and support, but this experience made me question that belief. Despite the negative comment, I decided not to let it define me. I reminded myself of the progress I had made and the goals I had set for myself. I knew that my worth wasn't determined by someone else's opinion.

In the days that followed, I continued to go to the gym, but I made sure to address the incident with the management. I explained how the worker's comment had affected me and expressed my hope that such behavior wouldn't be tolerated. The management was understanding and assured me that they would take appropriate action. This experience taught me the importance of standing up for myself and not letting others' negativity impact my journey. It also reinforced my commitment to my fitness goals and reminded me of the supportive community that the gym should represent.

I have been going to Fit Factory for about a year and half and I'm consistently impressed with the facility and the staff! The gym is always clean and well-maintained. The desk staff and everyone else is always friendly and there to help. I have also been taking advantage of the PT sessions with my my training coach, Cliff.

Cliff is absolutely amazing and has helped me achieve fitness goals I never thought possible. He is knowledgeable, supportive, and always pushes me to do my best. He takes the time to understand my individual needs and creates personalized workout plans that are both challenging and effective. Cliff has helped me remove the word "can't" from my vocabulary.

Being physically fit helps me stay mentally fit and am happy to have found Fit Factory!

I cannot recommend personal trainer, Steve Dudley-Shipman enough! From the very first session, it was clear that he is not just passionate about fitness but also genuinely invested in helping me succeed. I am a new member at Fit Factory in the last month or so. I am currently in a personal training program with Ismael Morales and have been extremely happy working with him. He is so incredibly nice and is an amazing personal trainer who really knows his stuff. He challenges me to the best of my ability and is such a great motivator too! I have really enjoyed working with him so far. The gym itself is great as well as far as the facilities are concerned. I have used the treadmills, weight machines and have done a few yoga classes. I love that they also have a women's only workout room too. It's clean and the staff there is super friendly! Highly recommend!

Five stars. More varied muscle-building equipment (I'm thinking specifically of adding a tricep bench that can hold 45-pound weights that hasn't been changed) would probably boost the establishment's rating of four stars. Additionally, if weather-related events don't materialize, do your best not to close (so far have been better). Cliff helped me prevent overextending during shoulder presses, and even without a session, he helped me get better at benches and squats. didn't have to but did assist me. Again, there's space for improvement (having two or three different machine types that work different areas in different ways would be wonderful), but at twenty bucks a month, this is my preferred gym. I mistook the weather closure for a power outage. at the NA site.

I was a pretty regular member of Fit Factory's Braintree location for a while (and it's a great gym), but I moved and ended up switching my membership to Foxboro. Unfortunately I felt like the difference was stark between the two locations! The machines at Foxboro were older, worn-out, and a bit more difficult to use, and there was less variety in dumbbell weights (I was hoping to see more half-pound increments). I barely ended up going and so I had to cancel my membership. I leave a positive review because the cancellation process was really smooth, and the staff were always kind to me whenever I went.

All the new matrix machines feel terrible. Leg curl, extension, plated leg press, etc. I could name any machine that they added and have an unfavorable opinion on it. Cardio machines are the same story. Lifefitness and Cybex are good known brands that I have used for 13 years and these feel nothing like their counterparts. I’ll be going elsewhere from now on.

I've been going to Fit Factory since Feb 2023. Overall it is a good gym that is kept clean, has good equipment variety, and has very reasonable rates. I would consider the core weight lifting area to be medium-sized. It's not as big as you would think from the outside. Much of the space is dedicated to PT/classes and cardio equipment and they don't allow you use the rooms even when there are no classes in session. There is little space for stretching and doing core exercises. I also think the equipment could be better maintained. There have been some machines that have been out of order for several months and other machines where the belts are very worn down and need to be replaced.

My issue is with how they handle canceling memberships. We are moving, so I went in and asked for my account to be canceled. I gave them 45 day notice but they screwed it up and charged me my monthly gym charge plus an additional $50 renewal fee. I tried speaking with the manager and was told “we don’t give refunds”. I tried to explain that it was their fault that my membership wasn’t canceled, and why would I pay an extra $50 to renew when I was canceling? I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do.
So I went to my bank and told them the situation. Fortunately, they were able to get my money back without a problem.

I joined when it first opened. Nothing but great things to say back then. Super friendly & helpful staff across the board. Great atmosphere, great price point, awesome classes and so on.

Now? Well, there are the equipment & fixture issues. Machines remain unrepaired, coverings on benches/machines are in tatters, weights have rubber coatings falling off, bathrooms are trashed daily and even a water fountain remained out of service for several months before getting fixed.

A gym can't necessarily dictate the character of its clientele. It can, however, make efforts to keep its members in line with standard gyn etiquette. For quite a while now, Foxboro has been overrun with members who never put weights back, put them in wrong places, stand in front of equipment & block it from use, sit on machines endlessly w/o using them and so on.

The staff could have a very strong hand in correcting any of these things - from actively monitoring the locker rooms to politely reminding members to re-rack weights & be considerate of others.

As for maintenance, in the early days a manager would be all over a malfunctioning treadmill or broken cable. These days, I've actually had desk staff roll their eyes when reporting an Arc Trainer is making clunking noises inside.

Perhaps the most egregious issue is Foxboro staff, especially the upper level staff, treating the gym as their personal domain. On any given day you may find a manager flirting or with a bunch of his/her buddies having a workout party in the FFIT room - music blaring and eyes glaring at any other member who may wander in to work out. I have even been told, with guys chest bumping and doing a dozen different things, that no one could come in as it was a class...at a time when no class was scheduled.

As of now, the only thing one can recommend Fit Factory for is the price. Even then, what is included in any membership level can change without notice. Fit Factory started with a great concept and vibe then managed to grind all the love out of it.

PS Just a reply to the Management reply below: is a personal call/email really needed to address the issues above?

Update (6/14/2023) Gotta give credit where it's due. Foxboro has actively been working on fixes & updates lately and it definitely feels improved and moving in the right direction. And they've become dog friendly!

If you do box jumps, heavy kettlebells or row for your workouts, I suggest going elsewhere. Those stay inside the group workout room and if there is a class going on inside you are obviously unable to use them, but also not allowed to bring a jump box nor kettlebell outside of the room (even if the class won’t use them) to continue your workout. Reason being they are afraid of a 24x30 plywood jump box “disappearing”.

It could be a nice gym! Space is huge!
This was my second try, I tried to be a member before but I quit and now I’m going to quit again, unfortunately I end up working out at home instead! Machines break and they don’t fix it for months, when you have your fitness routine and the machines you use are never working you start to get unmotivated! I have a friend that has been going there for a long time and he also complains about the same thing! This week he told me the water drinking fountain is not working for a awhile and nobody fixed it! That is the kind of stuff that makes the Fitfactory a bad establishment! They have the space, people are friendly, but it seems that the place is abandoned! Fitfactory could definitely be a great gym with a little bit more investment and care! I will keep my membership at the ymca and hope Foxboro will have a descent gym one day!

The customer service at this gym is horrible. I updated my credit card information ahead of my billing due date. Fit factory did not make the change and charged me a late fee. They refuse to issue a credit- their reason being I should have used my bank account for automatic withdrawals instead of my credit card. I wish I took the negative reviews I read to heart before being tricked into joining under a early black friday promotion. I was told three different ways I had two months to try the gym and if I wasn't satisfied I could cancel with no fees paid. Sure enough, after 6 weeks I am charged $110 (more than I would have paid had I joined normally under no promotion). Very corporate. Money > Customer experience.

I have been a member at FitFactory for 4 years, from the day they opened. I have a VIP membership and pay $30 per month. About a year ago I stopped using the facility. Today I stopped in to see if there were less expensive membership options. When I was told there was a fee of $30 to downgrade and my "Annual Membership Fee" would go up, I asked to waive the fee as a loyal customer who had been with them since Day 1. The General Manager refused. I then asked to cancel my membership and was told I could, but I need to pay my annual fee for next year ($49), because I didn't give them 30-days notice. I asked for the reasoning behind charging me an annual fee and why it wouldn't be prorated upon my cancellation and I was very rudely told, it's policy. I asked who I could speak with and was told it was a corporate policy but don't bother calling, no one in corporate would answer my calls. I was then handed a card and told I had to go online to cancel. Disappointing service considering I kept paying my bills all through COVID when the gym shut down to help keep what I thought was a local business afloat, only to be treated like I didn't matter at all and they just cared about membership fees and dues. Buyer beware.

Gym is fair sized, but not big. Fair customer service. It's clean. It does get busy at certain times throughout the day because it's not a big gym. Need more flexibility on membership plans than being strictly corporate which is the biggest red flag for me. You have to pay more membership fees to use more weights in different rooms. They processed my “cancellation” as a “freeze” and we have been in hell trying to cancel ever since. DO NOT TRUST THEM. I have been calling monthly to cancel and they have given me the run around. I've been going to Fit Factory for about 8 months now. The team there has always been extremely friendly, welcoming and interested in tailoring each clients experience to their needs. A few months in I talked to the manager about changing my subscription since I wasn't using all the great benefits of my current one. After talking about my goals I teamed up with Joe Braxton one of the personal trainers. I wanted to build the lower body that I always avoided and was told he was the guy. Joe is one of the most knowledgeable trainers I've ever met. One of my good friends is a Physical Therapist and I feel like I'm talking to him when I talk to Joe. I’ve been coming to fit factory for 2 years now. I started by going to the FFIT Classes and then also started doing personal training with Fallynne. Not only does she do personal training she also coaches some of the FFIT classes. Fallynne always take the time to make sure that everyone has what they need to be successful during their workout by explaining movements, modifying for people with any inabilities to be able perform the prescribed movement. Fallynne makes sure that everyone is safe and doesn’t do anything to put themselves or others in harms way. I have had many gym memberships over the years throughout the country and the staff and management here are one of a kind. I have not encountered an employee that isn't smiling and friendly... which says a lot because I used to work at a gym and most the employees were miserable and just counting down the minutes until they were off. This is a great gym - it is bright, open and spacious. The locker rooms and equipment are always clean and I have never had an issue finding equipment I need regardless of the day or time. The staff is friendly and have always been helpful when I had questions.

The facility has tall ceilings, great lighting and an open floor plan which I prefer since you don't feel like your trapped in a building. The cardio equipment is focused in one area looking out at the strength training equipment, turf area, and fitness studios.

If I had any criticism - they don't have mats for ab workouts, you just use the turf area or I guess bring your own mat which I have never encountered before. The stair climbers aren't the most modern but they work and get the job done. For $30 a month, I am fine with this because the facility is always clean and even at the busiest hours I am able to complete my workout.

Unfortunately, like many gyms, this particular gym has unfair cancellation policies. What is worse is that they fail to adhere to military family member laws with respect to needing to cancel a membership due to a move for military orders. The gym should quite frankly be ashamed of themselves for disrespecting military families in the name of grabbing money. I hope supporters of the military leave this establishment for a more supportive environment.

Update: in response to your comment, I suggest you do not make specific references to my account in a public forum unless you would also like to test privacy violations to your infractions. You also prove my point and forget you are perfectly capable of making exceptions in certain circumstances to your own policies on top of what you are required to do by law. While signing up, I was told there would only be a change of fee when I downgrade.
At the time of switching, I am asked to pay another annual fee on top of the changing fee because it is a new contract. In just 3 months into this membership, I am asked to pay another annual fee.

Very unprofessional, lacking basic customer service and communication. The company had accidentally charged our credit card thousands of $$$s - and they are refusing to negotiate even a compromise with a partial refund and the remaining payment toward membership credit. It's really a shame - they have an opportunity to do the right thing, and now we'll have to resort to legal action and dispute/block the credit charges. Wicked horrible customer service, communication and very poor management of staff.

I called to cancel my membership and was told I had to come in in person. I live in another State but came back to cancel in person because I have not used my membership in over a year because of Covid and not living there anymore.I then spoke with Tara Berube that I was able to complete an immediate cancellation because of the situation, but I still would have to pay the yearly membership fee even tho I have not used the facility in over a year. I was also told by her no other fees would be charged, and she said she waived any other charges if they existed and also said if I was charged after my date of cancellation she told me to call the club for reimbursement. I was then charged the next day for charges I was explicitly told would not happen. I called the club to ask for reimbursement as instructed by Tara and was refused to be dealt with and receive any reimbursement. They told me anything verbally said or promised to me by the staff was not true and should never have happened. This was never told to me in person when inquiring about my membership cancellation.

Such horrible communication, and an absolute scam for your money!! I would never recommend this gym to anyone, very terrible.

I’ve been taking the FFIT classes 6 days a week for a little over a month now. The club has always been seriously cleaned thanks to Jo Nolan. The front staff have always been welcoming, and have taken their time to understand my needs. ALL of the members have always shown courtesy and respect by keeping the equipment clean and keeping their masks on. Never once have I seen a single person not follow the rules/protocol. The FFIT instructors Liz Taber and Fallynne Blanchette and have been absolutely supportive and understanding, making sure I’m doing the moves safely and properly, while keeping me motivated to improve. In one month I don’t even recognize me, in the absolute best way. Thank you all!

I thought that's what I needed to motivate me to reach my goals. Didn't work. I found myself presurred to push beyond my limits and struggled with the fear of hurting myself. Then I was paired with Ryan. He motivates me by making me feel comfortable and calm. He has a way of reading how im feeling. Is able to judge what I can do and can rework my program on the fly to fit what I'm able to do at anytime. That makes me feel confident. That makes me trust him. I used to go to fit focus, they closed, I assume, and apparently sold my membership to fit factory, then fit factory wasn’t getting paid because the payment had not been authorized for them to run. Considering moving to the area and was checking out gyms today. $20 for a day pass. $40 for the month. Based on this and the front desk customer service...hard pass.

Rip off. Tell you one thing to get you to join, then take all these unauthorized charges!!! Was told nothing would be charged til February 27th, find out today $79.98 was charged to my account. Sounds like a scam to me. RIP OFF!!!!!! Should be ashamed
