I have been going to FINE for many years participating in small group training and more recently transitioned to individual personal training. I am recovering from a recent ACL reconstruction and Matt has been amazing creating programs focusing on the muscles around my knee to help strength and support my crazy active lifestyle. Nothing is easy but with consistent work and personal attention watching form has helped me over the past few months. I highly recommend FINE whether you're looking for specific areas of focus or an overall killer workout. Its definitely worth the $$ and investing in yourself is the best thing you can do! The entire staff is fun and energetic and makes working out a blast.

I have been going to Fit In New England since 2018 and it continues to be a positive experience. All of the trainers are attentive, encouraging, and educated. They also create a positive environment, which results in a friendly camaraderie among the members of F.I.N.E.
Currently, I train with Matt in semi-private classes. It is consistently evident in the way Matt coaches that he really cares about what he does, which is so important in a trainer. He is excellent in guiding me through perfect form and he is incredibly focused on small, but important details, which I appreciate. He will basically tell me if even my toes aren’t quite in the right position during a particular lifting exercise and will then give me a clear and pragmatic explanation as to why. This keeps me honest, haha, which is what anyone should seek in strength-building.
Colin, the owner, is always accessible and easy to reach. I highly recommend F.I.N.E. to any who wants to make their fitness goals a priority. It is also great to support a local business as well.

I highly recommend Fit in New England and Roo as a coach if you are looking for help in achieving your fitness/healthy living goals. It is never overcrowded and we can always access the weights and equipment we need. Hi - I have been training with Coach Matt and Coach Colin for 2+ years now. Full disclosure, I was born with a mild form of cerebral palsy, and wanted to tailor my workout towards a combination of stretching and mild weight training as a result. Coach Matt has been fantastic coming up with designated programs to fit my goals, and I applaud him and the team for doing additional research outside working hours to familiarize themselves with different body challenges people can have that are not necessarily common today. If you, or a friend or family member are looking to get FIT in 2026, there is no better place than the studio in Medford. They are friendly and extremely professional and will help you achieve whatever goals you may have. 5 stars!

Colin and his team are so knowledgeable. I've had a chronic shoulder and back issue due to muscle imbalance and mobility problems from a service related injury. The programming and attention to my specific anatomy helped me finally get back to 100%. I wish I had found this gym earlier. I’ve been training at F.I.N.E. for over two years, and it’s become the most rewarding part of my fitness routine. I used to struggle with strength training on my own, but thanks to the incredible coaching, I feel stronger, more confident, and truly enjoy lifting, even outside of sessions.
The combo of 1-on-1 and semi-private training has been fantastic. Big shoutout to Natacha for tailoring programs to help me reach my goals! She kept me injury-free during marathon prep with mobility and running-supportive exercises, and now she’s helping me crush new lifting PRs. Matt’s coaching in semi-private sessions is also excellent: he breaks down form, optimal breathing, and even throws in mini anatomy lessons to help explain the “why” behind proper form.
All the coaches here are top-notch. They are knowledgeable, encouraging, and detail-oriented. If you want smart, personalized training that helps you achieve your best, this is the place. Cannot recommend it enough!

Check this place out! I have a back injury that I wasn’t really progressing with and was always going to the doctor. I took it upon myself to make sure I stay healthy so I found somewhere (here) that actually cares and takes the time to understand your needs. Overtime I’m now doing things I couldn’t before or was told I probably could never do again. Collin and team (shoutout to Dan) are the best - super friendly, great music, and your own little personalized session. Definitely worth to fit into your weekly schedule!

I have been training at Fit in New England since late winter 2024. When I first visited to get a quote, Colin welcomed me with a smile and provided all the information I needed to get started. I train with Matt who is an excellent coach - he's friendly, meticulous, a fellow martial artist and incredibly knowledgeable about the body; I'm always learning something new about muscle systems each visit. Aside from helping me achieve the results I want, I was moved by the personal hand written holiday card he sent me shortly after starting training - you don't see too many people/businesses take care in their approach like that anymore. I started my training at Fit in New England around nine months ago. I have a weekly one-hour personal training session with my trainer, Natacha, who is very professional and patient. She closely monitors my exercises, listens to my feedback, and tailors my training programs accordingly. I also attend the group lessons once or twice weekly, usually with Matt and Dan. These lessons provide high-quality exercises and are good additions to my weekly training program. The training programs are challenging and effective, but never too hard or repetitive.After nine months of training in FINE, I'm in the best physical shape ever and have significantly improved my tennis game. More importantly, I have a great framework for training myself and staying healthy, which I don't think is achievable by following YouTube advice. I highly recommend FINE to anyone who is committed to improving their physical fitness.

If you want to get in the best shape of your life via personal training and/or small-group classes, definitely give FINE a look. I found my way to them by sheer luck; over two and a half years later, I feel years younger, look better, and legitimately look forward to every session. The trainers are great, the schedule and format offer something for everyone, the community is welcoming and encouraging (all fitness levels welcome), and the facility is well equipped and well maintained. The coaches here are great! I have gained strength that has helped me in my everyday life. Functional strength that helps you lift something heavy around the house. I’ve struggled with sciatica for 10 years and thought it was forever pain, but lo and behold, training with Colin fixed it! At 66 years of age, I’m stronger and more balanced than when I was in my 40s and 50s. You know you found the right place when you actually enjoy going! We joined back in December 2022 and this is the longest I’ve stuck with a fitness program! Everyone at FINE is so helpful, supportive and are just great people you enjoy seeing regularly. I’ve been training with coach Matt twice a week from the beginning and I’ve learned so much and feel stronger and more confident than I ever have! Learning proper form and lifting weights is actually really fun 😊 Matt is so knowledgeable and has been a great sounding board (and I ask A LOT of questions haha) talking through food choices and eating habits and also super supportive through my rough respiratory illness and small surgery when I was really frustrated, adjustments were made when needed and just kept going in a safe way which I appreciate so much!

This is a great gym/training facility. I have been working with coach Matt since April 2023. The facility is neat and clean. I have not done the group classes, just 1:1 personal training (2 sessions/week). Matt is outstanding and I would highly recommend both him and FINE.
Parking actually isn't that bad. There are two municipal lots nearby and street parking isn't impossible (metered, but can pay with an app). It's also right across the street from a T bus stop.

Of all of the fitness programs I have tried, signing up with FINE has been the only program I've stuck with. Every time I go for a session, I always leave feeling great and energized for the day. I opted for the personal trainer sessions because I decided that the only way I would stick with a fitness program was if I had someone else running it for me. And that has totally worked! I have also been really surprised at how much I've learned just in general about the body and movement. Until I started at FINE, I never really gave much thought to that sort of thing, but it's super useful information!
If you're looking for a place where you can work out, get individual programs, see results, and feel welcome when you go....Fit In New England is it.

My husband and I have been working with personal trainer Dan at Fit in New England 2x/week since Oct 2020 and it has been amazing. Highly recommend to anyone.
Personal Trainer Dan knows his stuff and will help you ease into (or back into) working out in a structured and healthy way. He is very good at anticipating/reading what you can do & when you can do just a little bit more, but not pushing you to the point that is actually beyond your limits. He is personable and fun to work with, and he pays very close attention to form, which I love, so that I can be sure I am completing the exercise in a safe and correct way.
The location/fitness space at FINE is excellent - basically two "sides" to the gym so that two different personal training sessions can go on at once without interfering with each other. The space is clean, bright, comfortable, and they have all the equipment that we have ever needed for our sessions. I haven't worked with the other personal trainers, but everyone is friendly & welcoming, so it is really enjoyable to be there and we always look forward to going.
About our background, for context:
My husband and I are (once upon a time) former division 3 athletes but are now in our 30's with a toddler so weren't at the top of our athletic game when we started.
When I started, I was the weakest/most out of shape I had been in my life. Since working with Dan, I am the strongest I have ever been in my life (even stronger than I was as a college athlete) (I'm 5'11, 150# and now deadlifting 200#, thanks Dan!). For me, having the regular structure of personal training sessions has really helped me stick to a routine and progress in my strength and fitness.
My husband has also progressed significantly and is approaching maximum strength (compared to college athlete days) and loves that we have regularly scheduled sessions, so that they don't get out-prioritized by other things.

I;ve been doing personal training at F.I.N.E. since August 2021 and it's been wonderful. My trainer is great to work with and knowledgeable, and makes modifications when needed. It's great to get the 1:1 attention and to be able to see results through their inbody scanner. They also have raffle prizes based on metrics which is a great incentive to get leaner. I started training at FINE in June 2021 to get stronger before my wedding and have been doing personal training 1x/week for 6 months so far. I'm really happy with the personal training and the results. Dan has been great to work with - he has completely customized workouts for me every week. Update: 3 years later and still working with Colin. Everything about this studio is great. The atmosphere, the knowledge of the trainers. While all my friends who train have suffered multiple injuries over the past few years, I have yet to have one even while pushing my limits. I can't say I will never have one in the future, but Colin's focus of form is big reason why I have been able to go this long with no issues. Invest in your health and long-term fitness. Do your 75 year-old self a favor. This is the place to be!

A friend of mine encouraged me to try out the classes here and I’m so glad I did. I was used to taking classes like kickboxing and yoga so I was a bit nervous to introduce weights and new exercises into my routine. I realized within my first 5 minutes of being there that there was nothing to be nervous about. The instructors, Mike and Brad, are awesome! They push everyone to their full potential. I always feel accomplished after the workout. The community here is also wonderful. The fellow students are super friendly and make the experience here even better. The gym is also super clean and has a lot of great equipment. If you are looking to try something new and want to work with knowledgeable trainers, I recommend you check this place out.

If you are having doubts, don't!! I am so glad I joined FINE, I am finally getting in shape after a series of injuries (and lots of laziness). Everybody here is awesome and immediately make you feel welcome, you'll feel at home since time zero. All trainers are certified, and classes are small, which means they will pay attention to YOU, give you modifications if needed, make sure you use proper form... you'll get the max out of your training and effort. I've trained with both Brad and Mike, they make classes fly by, they keep it so upbeat and fun you won't even notice you've been training for one hour and are dripping sweat. Totally recommend.

I decided to give this gym a try and I’m so happy I did. It’s a great gym with very knowledgeable trainers. Colin is super friendly and Brad is really energetic but I’ve been mainly training with Mike. Mike’s an awesome trainer! He’s so fun to train with and motivates me in a positive way. When I feel like I can’t do an exercise, he encourages me and is right there to make sure I get through the exercise without hurting myself. He shows me proper techniques which is really important to prevent injuries. I feel like I’m getting stronger every time I’m there working out. If you’re thinking about joining a gym, I would highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed!

Personal training at Fit in New England is reasonably priced and well worth every dime. I showed up in spring with a shoulder injury and an attitude about spending time on physical therapy, in my hasty rush for a leaner middle-aged frame before beach season. Brad quickly proved to be a skilled, patient, and clever coach with a great sense of humor. In little more than a month, he healed my shoulder and rebooted my metabolism by integrating PT into the most rigorous full-body workouts I could withstand with a bum limb. In three months, clothes were fitting better, and I was feeling trim. Now that I’ve scaled back to meeting every other week, he varies the exercises so I don’t plateau and gives me interesting workouts to do in my home gym, to guide me toward the ultimate goal: staying fit in my fifties on my own.

The trainers here are all super knowledgeable, and will tailor their training to your needs, injuries and goals. My trainer (Brad) has come up with a nearly endless series of different exercises for me, I almost never do the same exercise twice in a week. This definitely helps keep me engaged and interested. I've made really serious improvements in overall strength in the 6 months I've been going there. The facility is clean and the machines are well maintained, and the trainers are always responsive to texts if I have a question.

My husband and I have been working out at Fit in New England in both the small group classes and with Brad for private training. We absolutely love the F.I.N.E. community! We are constantly challenged physically and the knowledge between the trainers far surpasses anything we have received from trainers at big box gyms before. Judgement free zone where any fitness level is welcome with no intimidating machines, movements or sense that you don't belong. This is a great facility for top notch training and dedication offering various class types to find the right fitness regime for you. I love the welcoming nature of the experienced and well educated trainers and constant change in exercise programs so you never plateau or get bored and the group classes are a great option to receive more customized training with others if the one on one isn't what you are looking for. I've been working out weekly with Kiernan for a few months now. I don't think I've ever had the same workout twice. He keeps changing the exercises and challenging me. He demonstrates each exercise first and really focuses on my form. This is my first time using a personal trainer and I like it because it keeps me accountable for working out and I'm doing things I wouldn't have done on my own. I've definitely improved my strength and stamina over these past few months. I've also noticed my posture has improved and my back pain has decreased. Even though I want to curse him out sometimes during workouts, I'm thankful afterwards!

I happened upon Fit in New England one morning while in Medford Square, and contacted the staff about trying out small group classes. The staff, Colin and Kiernan, are friendly, fun, professional, and very knowledgeable about fitness and training. We have been going to Fit in New England (F.I.N.E) twice a week for 7 months. It's a family commitment (parents and 16 year old daughter). We decided that we all had areas that we wanted to work on and that we would do it together. For us- we always check reviews and/or look for a recommendation from our contacts. We were referred to FINE and would absolutely make a strong recommendation for others to check out.
Each one of my family members started with different fitness strengths and opportunities. Truly a no judgment zone. The staff truly cares about your goals, will push you to achieve success and customizes your work out so that you enjoy working out and look forward to it. I started with a shoulder injury and after 6 months I feel completely healed and stronger than ever.
We work with Kiernan. Important with our crazy work schedules that occasionally when we need to reschedule a training session that we have someone that is flexible and responsive. I can't thank this team enough for the commitment and support they have provided my family- we are experiencing incredible progress in our health and fitness goals!

The staff at FINE are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and energetic. All equipment and floor space are absolutely spotless; and the cleanliness of the shower and restroom are impeccable. After nearly five weeks of training here with Colin, for the first time in many years, I am able to remain motivated, engaged and dedicated to improving my overall health and physical activity. The staff's skillset, specialized education level and background in Exercise Physiology have allowed me to increase my strength, lose weight and remain informed on proper technique and concept. Colin is a great trainer, always listening to what I am trying to accomplish and outlining workouts that will help me get there. He focuses on form and constant improvement. He even sat down and helped me outline a training plan for an upcoming marathon.
The facility and equipment are brand new and it seems there is something new to try almost every week. The shower and changing area make it very convenient. A great place to work out and stay motivated!

I have been working out with Colin for over 6 years now. He is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and it is apparent how much he enjoys his work. No matter what your fitness level is, no matter what your age is, Colin will put together a customized program each time you work out with him. I've been training with a Colin for a little over 3 years. He has been the best personal training I've had by far. I came to Colin with zero gym experience and an extreme goal. Colin did not hestitate at the thought of it. He was supportive, adaptable and very knowledgeable. You can really tell that he knows what he's talking about. He's one of the few personal trainers that has the experience and the professional degrees to back up what he says in the weight room.
Also, Colin will always push you and he will always come into the session with a positive attitude!

Impeccable facilities, great location, easy parking. Colin and his staff at F.I.N.E. offer private and small group training that goes beyond even the fanciest of gyms. The open space gleams with new state-of-the-art equipment, has lot's of natural light, and is always so clean...never seen a dust bunny. However, that is just the icing on the cake. The real draw is working with the team at F.I.N.E. to achieve your fitness goals as simple or elaborate as they may be. I've been working with personal trainers for years: Colin's work ethic, genuine commitment to health and fitness, and superior knowledge is in a class above the rest. I have worked out 1:1 with the owner Colin for close to year now.
I was referred to him by a Physical Therapist that I had worked with on rehab. As a medical professional, I have been extremely impressed with the depth and breadth of Colin’s knowledge. Despite having some physical limitations, I have gained a tremendous amount of strength and flexibility since working with him due to his ability to tailor work out programs to my individual needs. He also designs individualized workouts or “homework”, as he calls it, to do in your times between training sessions. He is both professional and light hearted at once. I find his sense of humor, positive attitude and encouragement refreshing especially after a long day at work when I need some extra motivation!
He balances kindness with toughness and knows when to push and when not to push. I have worked out with other trainers over the years and Colin is the cream of the crop. The gym is well appointed and very clean to boot.

I have been working out with Collin a year before FINE opened. I gladly ended my membership at my previous gym when he opened FINE. A few months in I broke my hand and despite a lot of hesitancy I went back and he worked around my injury and kept me moving and active. My spouse also now goes to FINE as well.

One on one training was new experience for me. After working out on my own and getting results I fee l as though i plateaued. When I signed up for my training with Kiernan at Fit in New England the programs we went through and still go through have gotten me to a point where I feel better now at 49 than I did in my 30"s. He's a great coach and doesn't let up exactly what I was looking for. If your looking for new experience with your training you need to give him a shot, you wont be disappointed.

Fit in New England is an incredible resource to have in Medford Square.
While I have worked with personal trainers in the past, Kiernan is by far the best trainer I have ever had. He carefully observes my movements and abilities and carefully tailors workouts to meet my needs, address my concerns and help me reach my goals. Kiernan is more than 'just a list of exercises,' carefully explaining the anatomy behind specific movements, which helps me to more carefully and mindfully exercise.
Since joining FiNE in November 2016 and working with Kiernan, I have noticed increased muscle definition in my arms, shoulders, chest and legs. He has helped me to correct movements taught to me by other trainers, which have allowed me to exercise more safely and confidently.
While hiring a trainer does cost money, it is an investment in yourself. I encourage others to join Fit in New England, and work with Kiernan!

I've been going to Fit in New England for 7 months and have worked mostly with Kiernan during this time. When I started I was recovering from a back injury, and Kiernan was great at creating weight training routines that built my strength, while not hurting me. Seven months later I'm significantly stronger, have lost weight, and gained a lot of confidence in the process. Kiernan's been great to work with. Fit In New England is everything you could want in a personal training studio. The studio itself is meticulously maintained and includes a shower and lockers for those who need to go back to work or school after training.
The owner, Colin is without a doubt one of the best personal trainers out there. His assessments and the resulting programs are tailored to the individual. I have an ankle injury that Colin works around when designing my plans. He has also given me some great excercises to strengthen the ankle without putting too much stress on it. I have been training with Colin for 3 years and I have to say that he is conscious of and truly cares about each individual's issues and goals. He even supplements the training session(s) with "homework" in which he details weight training and cardio to do outside the studio; in a gym or at home.
The studio also provides group training classes for people who prefer that or in addition PT sessions. I really can't say enough good things about Fit In New England! Great place. Awesome trainers. And kick@$$ playlists!
