After dancing here for some time, i was very discouraged how payment was handled for my son.

It was very sneaky, where essentially, the terms were you would not be allowed to progress to more advanced lessons unless you "committed" to more classes. That's not fair, it forced him to waste his last classes on the same things he already knew.

Very unfortunate experience.

Besides that the teachers were very nice! But we won't be going back.

My wife and I have been dancing at Fred Astaire West Springfield since May 2022 so over 3 years. We came in for our wedding dance but stayed because we had so much fun. I’m a trans man who uses they/he pronouns and am plus size and have felt nothing but included and encouraged by all the teachers I’ve had here. The only downside is the price, but Michelle has always worked with us to find a package that works well for us. We’ve loved learning and love the level system. We are in senior bronze now and feel so proud of all of our growth.

My husband John and I have been taking dance lessons for a year and a half with the team in West Springfield MA. We have always been treated with the utmost professionalism and have had so much fun learning from them. The instructors are very skilled and encouraging. We enjoy our time at the studio very much and appreciate all the great feedback that we get to help us improve. The Friday night dance parties are a blast, and for us it’s like having a date night. We highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studio, they are amazing!

I cannot express enough just how amazing the Fred Astaire Dance studio in West Springfield is. I randomly decided to sign up for class and was nervous walking in. I was welcomed immediately. The positivity and friendly atmosphere can be felt the moment you step into the studio. A year later and I have learned so much, my confidence is growing with every lesson. Michelle, Anastasia, Julia, Cullivan, and Jordan are amazing dancers and teachers. It's so wonderful watching them dance. During private classes they are so patient and they have a fantastic way of sharing their skills with you. You've got to crawl before you can walk. Michelle is the kindest, most graceful and professional woman I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have met some amazing people there. Nick is always a pleasant and encouraging. The group party's are so much fun. I look forward to Friday nights. If you want to change your life, learn some new dance moves to show off or simply just to feel good, it's never to late. We have and will continue to recommend Michelle and her staff to anyone who is considering ballroom dancing regardless of level. If we could give six stars instead of five being the maximum we would. I have always admired people who can dance well, but I never thought of that as something I could achieve or aspire to.

When I started out taking lessons at Fred Astaire West Springfield, I knew almost nothing about dance, but Anastasiia, my teacher, was very good at making it non-intimidating and actually a lot of fun.

Within three months of starting, I competed in an intra-studio competition in six different dances: waltz, tango, foxtrot, swing, rumba, and cha-cha.

I would have never expected that I was capable of doing that (and really enjoying it!) if you had asked me three months prior.

I have seen my own self-image, attitude, and enjoyment of life transformed for the better in the course of my development as a dancer at the studio.

The dance instruction is of the highest quality, with instructors who are adept at making dance feel inviting and enjoyable, regardless of your experience level. The owner and instructors have done a fantastic job of creating a positive space that encourages growth in both your dance skills and your self-confidence.

My fiancé and I had an amazing experience at Fred Astaire Dance Studio in West Springfield! From the moment we walked in, we were met with warmth, professionalism, and so much talent. My husband and I started dancing with Fred Astaire in September of 2023. The experience has been EXCELLENT! My father was who recommended Fred Astaire to us. Now our whole family has taken dance lessons from the studio. The price is well worth it. Not only do you get private lessons, with a talented instructor. You have the option to come to any of the weekday classes for free. Their Friday night dance parties are a blast. We go to every single one. Our teacher made a wedding dance that blew our guests away. All the instructors are incredible, especially Anastasiia. She friendly, funny, and amazing at teaching. After we finished our wedding dance program, we enrolled in the social foundations program. We have too much fun it has become our Friday date night, and we wouldn't give it up for the world.

I’m addicted! I’ve been coming here to Fred Astaire Dance Studio in West Springfield since the beginning of the year. I always have a positive experience in whatever activity I participate in. All of the instructors are very skilled, professional, friendly and know how to make learning fun! I feel like I have gained so much confidence and have greatly improved in many different areas. Latin (salsa, bachata) dance looks so amazing..but difficult

Maia is able to demonstrate and break it down into small pieces that are so easy to digest for us.

My husband and I chose to sign up for dance lessons in preparation for our wedding and we're so glad we did. We had about 9? lessons in total. The first few were about the basic dance moves and then later on was the choreography for our first dance. Our dance instructor was Carissa and she was amazing! She was very patient and tolerable (my husband and I can be ridiculous some times). She would even stay past our time slot to help us and make sure everything was looking good. We would definitely recommend her for lessons!

OK I have been to Fred Astaire, Arthur Murray, Jitterbugs , studios in Northampton and found the the structure of Fred Astaire lessons is the best for learning basics and retaining new steps. They have group lessons that show you the fundamentals of a step and a private that fine tunes it. The other studios try but they do not have enough students to have group lessons reflect the different levels of students. Everyone is put together. The skill levels of the owner is phenomenal and his ability to relate to each individual is impressive. Nothing negative. He teaches his instructors and hopefully they retain some of what he has to offer. I guess every studio has its plusses and minuses but the best bang for the buck in my opinion is Fred Astaire.

Horrible attitude from the "owner" Kim. What a inconsiderate person. She should not be working with the public. From the very first phone call she was extremely rude. I would not recommend anyone going to this dance studio. Very un-welcoming place. In the ad it mentioned being energetic and personable which she is neither. Why would anyone want to pay for dance lessons there orrr work for such a miserable person I do not know ! Im Shocked !
