I've been going to this gym for a while, and there are some ongoing issues that really need to be addressed. The bathrooms are consistently dirty, and the lighting in there is awful-dim, unflattering, and honestly kind of depressing. There's not one full body mirror for progress pictures.
There's a daily crowd of old men treating the gym like a social club. They hang out, occupy machines without using them, and seem more interested in chatting than training. It kills the vibe and makes peak hours especially frustrating.
Lastly, the sauna has been broken since I became a member so I'm assuming that's not getting fixed.. ever.
This place could be great with some effort, but right now, it feels neglected. I'm definitely going to look for a better, more motivating gym.

First time experience:

Free trial has to be activated online first or they’ll charge you $15 for a day pass. Communication is poor and as a first time visitor I was ignored by management twice.

Training coversations with staff and hiking conversations with other members can continue when there’s not a new member right in front of you. Customer service skills needs some work.

Machines are outdated. Groups of senior citizens standing around and leaning against machines having conversations.

Other reviews mention it’s difficult to cancel your membership. I’ll pass on this gym and keep looking.

The staff is awful to say the least. There is a lock on the front door that you can only get in if you scan your card. I went to cancel my membership but I forgot my card. Then the staff ignored me until they closed and then told me to go away. I’ve tried to cancel my membership over the phone they don’t allow it. I had to cancel my debit card and then they charged me $50 dollars in debt collection. Long story short they make it as hard as possible to cancel your membership.

I’ve tried most of the local gyms and I like this the most by far. During the pandemic, I didn’t cancel my membership because if this went under, I couldn’t tolerate going to the other gyms. This review is 99% using strength equipment. If you’re looking for cardio or sauna reviews, this ain’t it.

• The lighting in other gyms is nauseatingly bright. I go to relax, not feel like I’m in a hospital. The lighting here is just right. They renovated their lighting years ago and it was a huge concern of mine I spoke to them about but it didn’t happen. One gym was both too dark and too bright; spots you couldn’t see the equipment control panel or spots with lighting directly your eyes while you’re bench pressing.
• They swapped their metallic plates years ago to rubber coated grip plates and it’s been a godsend. No more dealing with rust stains from metal plates. No more annoying clanking.
• The equipment and machines are spaced far enough apart. Other places, the gear is very crowded and inches away from each other.
• Spacious. The building doesn’t feel small or squished. The ceiling is tall enough so the lighting doesn't feel 2 inches above your head.
• Choices of thin and thicker barbells.
• Music selection is whatever but at least it’s not too loud like other places.
• This one could be all in my head but I feel some other gyms, there’s not enough ventilation.
• As of posting this, their hours are 4 AM to midnight every day which has also been a godsend as I enjoy going late. It's added flexibility. No more feeling pressured to go before closing.

Although the personnel is quite kind and the air conditioning and cleanliness are wonderful, everything else is fairly awful. The staff hours are also really awful on weekends; they close at 3pm, which is quite upsetting when I'm paying $40 a month and can't use the messaging chairs because I work. The equipment hasn't been upgraded and is honestly outdated; they've had the same machines for the previous year. In general, I would only suggest this gym to first-time users; if you're an experienced user, you're better off going somewhere else.

I think the equipment, and cleanliness is great but please don’t put people at the front desk that should not be there… It’s the first impression And they should be service oriented and not appear indifferent…pretty put off by my recent experience but the gym itself is fantastic. I understand it’s hard to find people that actually want to work these days but closing at 6pm on Saturday is a bit early. 8 o’clock maybe? Btw, if the person at the front desk was a little more inviting and personable, , I would have given a 5 star rating.

Moved into the area looking for a gym specifically with a sauna. Found this gym and online it said they have a dry sauna so I went in for a tour. Sadly the sauna doesn’t work, and not sure when it will be working again. Lorrie gave me a tour and she was absolutely lovely (that’s why I gave 3 stars) I would 100% join the gym thanks to her, however the no sauna is a dealbreaker for me.

The gym is okay. Most of the weight machines have sticky plates. Also they have had a sauna posted on their website for 2 and a half years as a benefit but THEY HAVE NOT HAD A WORKING SAUNA since I've been going to this gym. I feel like they should either stop advertising with it or they should actually get a working sauna.

The Fitchburg location is nice. It's not too busy and the staff is nice.

I moved to the falls two years ago and the management was so nice and welcoming they listened to my concerns and with patience they took me through all the options I have and helped me to make living at The Falls a home not just a place of stay not talking about lots of parking space, very clean environment. Love my home especially having lots of entry and exit no matter where I park I have a door to my home. A beautiful place to live

I’ve been a member here for almost 10 years now. I drive by several gyms to come here as I live 20 min away and there is reason for that. Global is hands down the best gym in this area. The owner and staff are Ultra friendly and the gym is always spotless. The recent renovations make this place even better than it was. The addition of the massage chairs makes you feel amazing after a great workout. They have state of the art equipment, tons of weight, and lots of classes for all fitness levels. If you’re looking for a gym please check out Global you will be glad you did.

Global is a terrific gym! The personal trainers are very professional. There are a variety of classes and programs available, all with great instructors! The owners have been very accommodating throughout the Covid crisis by offering online classes. It is a great place to work out. Everyone does their own thing with no judgement. I deleted an old review because my opinion has changed over the years.

Global is not Planet Fitness (the embarrassment of the fitness industry) nor is it a bodybuilding or powerlifting gym. It is somewhere in between.

Although I heard some complaints about the owner in the past, my personal interactions with him have been pleasant. Most of the staff is very friendly.

There are some rules that I find annoying, if not embarrassing for a gym. But that's one difference between a bodybuilding/powerlifting gym and Global.

As another reviewer noted, there have been some cleanliness problems, which I think have been resolved. But I did encounter a soap dispenser that smelled like a sewer and appeared to dispense a lot of mold with the soap. When I brought this to their attention, they dealt with it quickly, but it would be preferable if things like this were proactively avoided.

Overall, not a bad gym, going through a significant overhaul, and they offer a lot of classes.

I am very dissatisfied with this gym as I have been paying the membership to use both gyms and allows my son to bring a friend..today I dropped him and his friend off at the Leominster facility and had to turn around to go and get him because all of a sudden there is a new policy of only 18 and up to bring a friend…any reason members wouldn’t be notified ?? Staff that my son dealt with at both Leominster and Fitchburg were rude in the way they spoke to him and handled situation …I will be canceling membership and going to planet fitness where it is much cheaper and they accept everyone!

This is actually a good gym, my 2 stars are from me being jaded about payment tho. Due to injuries and covid during the last 2 years I think I've been to this place maybe a month out of the 2 years and during the 2 years I kept paying my monthly fees even when they shut down the place due to covid to help them out. At some point they charged my card when I didn't have enough money on it and immediately had bill collectors blowing up my phone for 1 missed payment plus late fee that added on. O how I wish I cut my membership when they shut down for covid.

Love this place. No complaints at all. If you are serious about fitness or brand new, you can find everything you need, good balance between free-weights, weight machines, and cardio machines. Classes available (I believe they cost extra but not sure) for group or specialized programs like spin classes or hiit routines. Also, if you have absolutely no idea how to use a machine or do an exercise, you can quite literally just ask someone nearby and either they'll say idk either (unlikely), or take time out of their sesh (happily) to show you the proper, safe technique.

Global has set a new standard for gyms! Every time I check in there's always someone to greet me with a smile. The check in is always contact less which helps in these times! After a few weeks this is my honest assessment.

This is really the only show in town that is an actual gym and they know it. The equipment desperately needs to be modernized, it is stuck in the early 2000’s. The owners must have gotten their money’s worth by now, it’s time to reinvest in their business. The barbells bearings are all shot, if you Olympic lift like myself, or like to have a functioning barbell,that is a problem. Lastly let’s talk about the music, no one and I repeat NO ONE wants to listen to Madonna at 6:15 every morning. Please update the music with the equipment.

The good, they have what you would expect at a gym for equipment, the staff are friendly and I haven’t seen any bugs in the locker room.

Canceled my membership because I needed a gym that was open later hours. Also they closed their Fitchburg gym last year which meant all those people came over to the Leominster center. Great gym with kind staff and reasonable prices. There are a variety of cardio and weight machines, and recently there have been upgrades to the equipment and overall look of the gym. It can be crowded in the evenings, especially before a large class is about to begin or just ended.
