4 kids for 30 mins swim is actually not fair at all! Most of the time my kid is just sitting and waiting for his turn! We’ve been signed up for several months with no improvement and the same moves over and over again! Put your money somewhere else because it’s not worth it! They care only for your money and give you no good outcome!

It is a club for beginners (babies) where progression is very slow and classes are expensive for a short time in the water. Teachers change a lot (some are very rude and impatient) which makes it difficult to continue the work. It is not working for my daughter because she has been doing the same movements for months and has not progressed. The reception staff can select those who at least greet her because they do not give feedback on what is requested as a progress report for the child. I film my daughter and what changes is the color of her bikini and the teacher because the movements are always the same, even the order, in all classes.

Signed my child up for a “FREE TRIAL”. Afterwards I told the girl at the front desk that I would speak to my husband and possibly sign up for a later date because I wasn’t very impressed and didn’t think it was a good fit . Then an Hour later I see I was charge $165 dollars for a membership that was already taken from my bank account. Without my consent and absolutely without me wanting to sign up. When I finally got ahold of someone they said “they would have to look into it” before I could get a refund and IF they do deem a refund warranted I wouldn’t get my money back for 3-5 days. To say I’m furious is an understatement. In no way is this ok.

We’ve had a wonderful experience at Goldfish Swim School in Marlborough! My daughter has been attending for a while now, and the progress she’s made is amazing. The instructors are incredibly patient, friendly, and skilled at working with children of all ages and swim levels. They create a fun, encouraging environment that helps build confidence in the water.
We also appreciate how the school keeps parents informed with regular progress updates and periodic testing for level advancements. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed with warm water and a comfortable viewing area for parents. We’ve even attended some of their special water safety classes, which were both educational and engaging.
Overall, we highly recommend Goldfish Swim School to any parent looking for a safe, fun, and effective place for their child to learn how to swim!

My son looks forward to his swimming lessons at Goldfish every Friday! The instructors are fantastic—friendly, patient, and genuinely great with kids. It's clear they create a fun and safe environment for learning. What I also truly appreciate is how flexible their system is—cancelling a lesson is hassle-free, and the make-up tokens are such a thoughtful touch. Highly recommended!!

Teachers are very nice but they don't evaluate my son for more than 3 months so it seems hard to graduate and we just keep paying for it. And there is no communication between teacher and parents so don't know where his progress is.

We love it here! My kids look forward to their weekly lessons and have learned so much in a short amount of time. It’s a beautiful environment with such friendly and knowledgeable staff and the instructors are amazing and so good with kids. They have such a great setup with showers right at the pool area for easy rinse-off after lessons and they have lots of changing rooms to use. My kids love that they even have a hair dryer station and swim suit dryers. There’s plenty of parking and the location is great, with lots of shops and restaurants right nearby. We definitely recommend!

Very kid friendly and affordable programs. My daughter is taking a Jump Start program this week and she has gone from being terrified of going to swim lessons to being excited that she will be able to learn how to swim. I spoke with her teacher about what she is still anxious about and they listened and made some adjustments. We are going to sign up for weekly lessons to continue the progress. The shift leaders and teachers are very friendly and attentive. The student to teacher ratio is great. You can tell the teachers love what they are doing. The facility is very kid friendly, it has a water park vibe, the pool is shallow even for lane swimming and they have short lanes which I love 💕 I also loved that they had a large float and presence at the Providence Pride parade - my daughter already was familiar with the cute goldfish and had a positive experience of getting a toy goldfish at the parade. I wanted to mention this because I know it can be hard to know if community building activities have an impact on your business. I appreciated it and it led me to try out Goldfish which is working better, is more convenient, and is much less intimidating for someone terrified of swimming lessons than private lessons at a large pool.

UPDATE: After one year of taking swim lessons at Wayside athletic club, my child went from barely being able to do a few strokes of freestyle to competently doing all four strokes in the swim team prep class (highest level class before swim team). This progress would never have been made if she stayed at Goldfish.
I only recommend this place for babies, kids with severe sensory challenges to cold water, or children with special needs who need a private lesson.
The child group beginner lessons are a complete moneymaking scam. Your child will progress at a much quicker pace at a local health club or YMCA. Goldfish protocols prohibit use of bubbles. They are allowed at other Swim clinics. It can be very stressful for some children to go from being held in an instructors arm to swimming independently. The bubble can be a great transition to independent swimming. Wayside athletic club has proven this over and over again. The goldfish scientific mythology is not the only way!!
At health clubs like Wayside Athletic Club or YMCA, children actually swim full laps not width wise. At Goldfish swim school children do NOT swim full laps. To maximize the amount of classes and money they make, the children swim width wise. It’s hard for children to learn swimming strokes when they’re only swimming a few feet at a time. It will not increase their endurance either which is a necessary skill in case of a water emergency.
Also, the progression is very rigid. Children have to perfect the freestyle and backstroke before they can move on to the breaststroke and butterfly. This is not the case at other athletic clubs where children learn all four strokes simultaneously.
The cost for group swimming lessons is extremely expensive for the time your child gets in the water. During a 30 minute beginner lesson your child will only get 7.5 minutes of swim time. This averages out to about $4.50 a minute per swim time with the instructor.
There is also a lot of teacher turnover since most of the teachers are high school or college students. This can be a challenge for children who do best with consistent instruction.
Please check out your local, athletic club or YMCA if you’re serious about having your child learn how to swim as soon as possible while saving money. Talk to other parents as well. I’ve never heard parents say their money was well worth it for a group lesson at Goldfish.

I cannot speak highly enough of Goldfish Swim School in Marlborough. Enrolling my child here has been a fantastic decision for our family. The staff is exceptionally friendly, professional, and truly dedicated to each child’s progress and safety.
The facility is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed with young swimmers in mind. My child always looks forward to swim class because the instructors make learning to swim fun and engaging. They tailor their approach to each child’s comfort level and skill, ensuring that everyone feels confident in the water.
A standout feature is the structured approach to learning. The school conducts periodic tests to assess each child’s progress, and promotes them to the next level when they’re ready. This system keeps the learning experience dynamic and motivating for the kids. The instructors are excellent at recognizing when a child is ready to advance, and they ensure that every step up is met with enthusiasm and encouragement.
Additionally, Goldfish Swim School places a strong emphasis on water safety, offering classes on the topic once in a while. These sessions are invaluable, equipping the children with essential knowledge to stay safe in and around water. It’s reassuring to know that my child is not only learning how to swim but also how to be safe and responsible in aquatic environments.
The lesson structure is well-organized, with a focus on both skill development and safety. I appreciate the small class sizes, which allow for personalized attention and quick progress. The progress reports are thorough, keeping us informed about our child’s achievements and areas for improvement.
Overall, Goldfish Swim School in Marlborough provides an exceptional swim education experience that I highly recommend to other parents. My child has not only improved their swimming skills but has also developed a genuine love for the water, thanks to the wonderful team here.

Goldfish swimming school is a great place for kids to go swimming, but they do need more fun. Like practicing how to do handstands in the water, doing back flips in the water. or even learn how to swim like a mermaid. i really think it would be really fun to learn!

Took my 3yo daughter to her first class on friday night around 7pm. She is a hand full to say the least. always trying to touch things, and play with all the different items in the pool. she was just curious and wanted to gogogogogo. The staff at Goldfish handled her better than id have ever expected. They treated her with care and understanding. Natalie and Geo were so nice to her. they sat with her the whole time so she was safe. she had a blast! cant wait to go for her second class on friday. Thank you to all the caring lifeguards and staff!!! A+++++

For a program that is supposed to be for children they could not have any more unrealistic or age inappropriate expectations of how children are supposed to act and behave. The instructor spent the first two weeks playing with my 2 year old daughter, not enforcing any rules, and encouraging her to jump into the instructors arms whenever she wanted. The next two weeks my daughter was yelled at for doing the very things she had been encouraged to do previously. Then the staff had the audacity to insist my daughter be moved down to a lower, inappropriate level because she was doing things she had been encouraged to do just two weeks early. The experience with my son was even worse. At 3 years old my son was expected to sit on the side of the pool with his hands on his knees and not move unless it was his turn to swim. The instructor was constantly splashing my son, but if he did it back he was yelled at. Twice my son was physically restrained by two adults at once just for touching the water. The instructor in the water would pin my son’s legs down while the lifeguard would come up behind him and pin his arms to his sides. That’s assault. When I asked to speak to a manager regarding the situation I was told the manager was too busy to speak to me. This program is a money making hamster wheel that is counterproductive to actual stroke development. Not only is the program extremely overpriced for the quality which you receive, but the kids only actually swim for about 15 min of the 30 min you’re paying for. The staff is extremely rude and most of them clearly don’t actually like young children nor do they know how to interact with them. Absolutely horrible experience.

We had a great start with the parent/child swim class for infants here. Our daughter really enjoyed class with Miss Abby and connected well with a few other coaches at the facility. The changing area was private and clean. The pool activities were lots of fun for the kids and we made some great friends in class.
Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with a substitute instructor which led us to pull our child from classes immediately. The young girl who was leading the class mishandled our daughter during an activity giving her (and myself) a scare going down a slide. She completely let go of my 11 month old at the top of the slide sending her into the pool at top speed. Luckily, I caught her and she didn’t fall sideways off the slide where she could’ve easily hit the edge of the pool or lane line. While I am grateful this situation did not result in injury, I am not willing to risk the safety or comfort of my infant in the pool should there be another untrained substitute leading one of her classes. So while there are some truly lovely people working at this facility, I would not recommend attending classes here as the management is not thorough enough with vetting and training all of the instructors in the pool.

Goldfish is tons of fun for a kid who’s scared of swimming but they make virtually no progress because the teachers do not challenge them at all. They swim very short distances and the teachers offer so much assistance that the kids never gain confidence to swim solo. We’ve been here for an entire year and she has barely progressed at all.

Absolutely LOVE Goldfish Swim School in Marlborough at the Apex Center. My nephews go to a different location and recommended Goldfish to us. We chose the Marlborough location due to proximity to our home. From literally day one of contacting them online to now being 6 classes in, we have been EXTREMELY impressed. The professionalism, kindness, and speed of the staff getting us setup and "onboarded" was fantastic. Helped us understand how things work, what to expect, and some of the benefits of being part of the program. From the second you walk in, the place is very bright, colorful and welcoming. The staff is super kind, very accommodating, and they learn the kids names and demeanors almost instantly. There are at least 2 if not 3 or 4 life guards every time we go in, there are tons of amazingly qualified and very nice swim instructors. And the classes really teach the kids a lot. My 3 year old went from being in a pool a half dozen times max prior to joining to feeling much more confident in the water as well as already learning most of the basics, even pulling himself up on the side of the pool if he needed to get out. The Marlborough facility is super clean, very nice, and they clearly understand the process of having a child do swim lessons and accompanied that with every amenity you could want. Super nice pool and accessories, showers and soap right out of the pool to wash off the chlorine, perfect size dressing rooms to get your kids changed quickly, hair drying stations, and swimsuit dryers...they literally have thought of it all. It's an extremely efficient experience. You also get a very nice welcome bag with some small stuff and a nice t-shirt. You get ribbons on weeks you accomplish some cool stuff, and they have a "prize" each week that your kid(s) can grab on the way out that further emphasize the great work they are doing. They also have a little store with bathing suits, goggles and other stuff just in case you either forgot yours or want to buy something there. And they have some snacks you can buy on the way out too. I couldn't possibly be more impressed with Goldish in Marlborough and will be signing my 2nd son up soon.

Nothing but good things to say about Goldfish Swim School! Before Goldfish opened, my son had swimming lessons elsewhere, and it didn’t go very well. The water was “too cold” for him to ever want to try to swim let alone go in the water . That all changed when we found Goldfish swim school. Not only is the facility extremely visually appealing and inviting, the water is WARM! My son learned how to go underwater way faster than I ever imagined, and has been learning new skills ever since! Staff has always been very friendly and great with all of the kids. I was nervous to return to covid after the pandemic, but they couldn’t have done a better job with ensuring everyone’s safety and putting my mind at ease. They have changed things drastically, from class size, building capacity, frequent sanitizing, and social distancing. They seem to be doing everything right since reopening and I have no concerns whatsoever. I highly recommend Goldfish swim school for these reasons and more.

Pretty soon my little lady is going to be a stronger and better swimmer than I am 😊 Thank you Goldfish team!!

My son has attended Goldfish Swim School in Marlborough, MA for over a year. He is reluctant to participate in anything, so I was surprised to hear him say he was excited for swim class this week. I asked him what he likes about going to swim school, and he said his teacher, Ms. Marin, is so nice! Besides being reluctant to participate in anything, he also dislikes instructors and teachers, in general (he's a harsh critic and especially disliked his remote learning teacher, aka, me.) Ms. Marin is a natural teacher. I am an early education administrator, and I can tell when grown ups are at ease around children, and she is amazingly patient and has a welcoming demeanor. She is also a skilled swimmer, and you can see how she instructs from her own experience with the sport.
I also have to give Goldfish kudos for all of the safety measures they have taken during these Covid times. I was hesitant to start back with lessons, when they reopened, but now I know I made a good decision. Water safety is important to me, because we live near several ponds and a reservoir. Goldfish reduced the number of students per lane, increased the width of the lanes and are constantly sanitizing within the lobby and pool areas.

We've tested the place out twice now, before signing the kids up for regular lessons. The first time was a mixed experience. While they have a very clear set of testing criteria, and focus on getting the kids comfortable with the water, the employees seem to be a mixed bag. Our second trip was even less impressive. Our 3 year old was in a lane with one instructor and three other toddlers, while another lane had two instructors for one toddler the same age. Our son's instructor spent most of her time coaxing the other kid into doing anything and helping her with her goggles. Overall, for the cost it wasn't worth it. With three kids, a discount would've been nice, but a manager was very clear that only happens when you sign up for regular classes. I guess we won't be doing that, so it's a moot point.

Very disappointed with Gold Fish in Marlboro. My son has been a member there for roughly 3 months. on July 1st I went in for our 11am swim class to find out they were closed. I never received any email or saw any signs stating they were going to be closed. I also know for a fact that at least 15 other parents were on the same boat since they were standing in the parking lot talking about the Gold Fish's lack of communication. I called and spoke with Tatiana whom I was told was the manager. She told me that there were signs on the front desk and that they ad posted several announcements on Facebook. I do not look at their Facebook page or at Facebook for that matter. When i bring my kid to a swim lesson I walk in and walk out. I don't look at the desk for announcements. Email tends to be the way you reach most people, and sending an email at 3:58pm on July 1st is not only pointless but also extremely unprofessional on the behalf of the company. I was told by Tatiana that the owner was at fault for not sending the email out earlier. This is a shame! I guess he doesn't appreciate my business enough to send the email at a decent time frame. I will be canceling my services as soon as the Gold Fish in Milford Opens up or maybe earlier since I'm looking into different options. Only giving this a two starts because Tatiana was extremely helpful and professional when speaking with me.

The complex and swim lessons are great! Booking makeups is a huge pain since you can never seem to get anyone on the phone and the website is lousy.

I really like the communication between instructor and parents and also the flexibility with the schedule in case you need to change the day of the classes. My son was terrified and afraid of water after an experience with another company but now at Gold Fish he is very excited and keep asking everyday if it is the day of swimming classe. The environment is A+.

We could not be happier with Goldfish swim. We had our 4 year old in two sessions of traditional swim classes at the local racket club and I just cloudn’t tell how much she was learning. We switched to GF swim in December when she turned 5 and our other daughter turned 3 (no swim experience). Now both kids are swimming independently!! Our older daughter had a lot of anxiety about swimming on her own, and the staff were so friendly and patient with her. Her confidence is now soaring since she realized she really can do it on her own. I am so proud of both of them and I truely believe their progress is because of the amazing swim teachers at GF swim. I highly recommend this school!!

Before starting at Goldfish, both of our children were terrified of the water. Before joining Goldfish, they had horrible lessons ( forced/pushed underwater, pushed off a dock to get in the water) which made them afraid of the water. We started on December in Glider 1 with Brenda. Since then both boys are in Glider 2 and look forward to swimming. They were able to overcome their fears with a fabulous instructor. Brenda was/ still is fabulous. We are still having a wonderful experience now that they are in different levels of swimming classes. Thank you for having a wonderful staff. My boys love the water and we can thank Brenda for helping them feel safe.
We recently got back from a family vacation and our boys felt safe in the water. They rarely came out of it. They even practiced what they have been learning in their lessons. Smiles all around!!!

This place is awesome! It was made with kids in mind and everything is tailored to their needs. I used to take my kid to the YMCA, but we were always cold when we left the pool, there were long lines to shower and to get a changing room. We do not have that issue here. The staff is really nice and friendly and the teachers are really sweet abd patient. It is more expensive than the Y, but it is worth it if you can offord it. Keep up the good work!
