I love this place! Completely safe and comfortable for both of my son's. Pool is no more than 4ft, loving instructors, cozy and colorful which kids love (vs those overwhelming grey spaces at the Y's) with beautiful welcoming and kid friendly aesthetics. Like a mini tropical getaway. All staff are trained, polite and helpful and dedicated to successful swimmers! I never had the same success with my kids at the Y unfortunately. This is the place to be for skilled swimming.

We started taking my son to this location when he was 7 months old, when we moved away I struggled to find another location like it. So when we moved back to the area first thing we did was start him back up. They have been a blessing in teaching my son how to swim and taking away his fear of water! If you’re struggling with your child sign them up you will not regret it, they’re amazing at making your kid feel confident and comfortable with swimming.

Great program if you like to watch your kid sit on the side of the pool wall. 30 minute class and my child swam for 2 minutes and 14 seconds. Oh and then they charge you a $75 sign up fee because they know no one will stick with it

Harvey has been swimming here for a while and we love it. Update: It has been 8 days since their comment reply and absolutely no call has been made to me. The classes they stated they offered my son previously were more than TWICE the monthly cost of what we were paying and not a solution to refusing to accept him back in class.

After being a paying member of this school for over 3 years (child started at 8 months old), this school has failed to appropriately include my son and they abruptly ended his swim lessons with no prior warning whatsoever last week, the day after fully charging me for November classes. My son has had some issues transitioning in and out of water and at times there have been staff there to assist with these transitions with no problem. Now all of a sudden this current manager saw it as a reason to kick him out of classes, after years of attending. Absolutely unreasonable and I would NOT recommend it to any parent who wants their child in a caring environment, especially while learning such an important skill.

It’s good if you want to get your kid used to water but not worth it if you want to teach your kid how to swim. My kid (3+) has been enrolled for close to a year now, but there is little to no progress. The strange part is we get weekly emails about the progress/skills achieved and it seems to show the kid learned a new skill or made progress. However, watching the kid in the pool doesn’t show why progress or improvement being made. After enquiry, I was told the kid is slow to learn (after being there for 6+ months) and someone will work with him. Few months in and it’s the same thing

Goldfish Swim School in Milford is the best option to get your child ready for summer. They place each child at an appropriate level based on their skills. We have used it for our three children. They are all different. Our third was a screamer. He screamed so loud it hurt to watch. Goldfish worked with us to get him comfortable in the water and now he absolutely loves swim class. He gets excited each and every time. The best part is that when our kids get to swim places, we can have a conversation and can watch and monitor from side of the pool. We did try other places before Goldfish and the water was cold or the class was not tailored to meet our kids where they were. It was honestly a waste of time and money. Our kids did not enjoy it. At Goldfish, they have all had very positive experiences. We feel like part of the community there and they have so many awesome family events. Our swimmers got to meet Olympic swimmers and that was so cool. For our family, the choice is obvious.

If you or a loved one is considering Goldfish Swim School in Milford, my family would 100% recommend it. We have three children and they have all done lessons there. They are all different, my youngest cried a lot at first when transitioning to independent lessons. They were so patient with is us and supported us in making it successful for him. They did not shame us when he cried very loudly. They encouraged us to allow the staff to support him. They also celebrated the successes of making through a lesson without tears. He is now a very strong swimmer and loves going there. Every time we drive by, he wishes we were going to go swimming. My daughter did amazing. She is not a team sport person and loved the individual goals provided by swimming. She was our most successful swimmer. She made it to Pro 2. When she won swimmer of the month, she told her whole class and brought the ribbon in for show and tell. My oldest son loves to swim and when he struggled with one of their moves ( the roll over), they gave him one on one attention in an extra lane to help him learn to master it. They also had a different instructor try teaching it to him with a different style. This was the key to his success and he nailed it. Swimming is a life long skill and as a parent knowing my kids will be safe in the water allows me to relax and enjoy my time. It also helps when others offer to bring my kids to the pool. When we first started Isabella who was 2.5 wouldn't put her face in the water never mind getting it wet. Pros: Great for infants and getting babies more comfortable around water (my daughter loved Steve in the infant class!) and the pool is clean and warm.

Cons: The biggest problem we have is that they do not move kids up based on skills! Only by age, so kids will move up when they hit the next age group and not when they meet skills (they may say otherwise but it’s not been our experience AT ALL)- my daughter is now almost 3 we are done here. My daughter spends more time sitting on the side than she does in the water. Their lessons are the same thing over and over, and not really engaging for a toddler. Instructors are really hit or miss- the last one we had didn’t even know my daughters name and confused her with the other girl in class (gave her a ribbon then they took it away, very sad for a toddler!) we are sad to leave since we had such a great experience when my daughter was a baby but it’s really expensive and my daughter isn’t learning how to swim, we just can’t justify the cost any more.

It averages to $36 a class and my daughter has been in the same level for past 7 months, they do the same thing over and over but don’t focus on the individual needs so I feel like her skills have not progressed.
Averages to 4 kids per swim lesson for 30 mins, they pack the kids in there like sardines, my guess would be 50 kids in the pool.
They are great with make up tokens if you miss a class
I think the classes need to be longer in length for the children to actually learn the 30 mins by the time to get them in and out it’s more like 20 mins

We love Goldfish swim school! Our son Jaxon has always loved being in the water but was SO anxious about taking his life vest off and putting his face in the water. I just needed to warn others about how Goldfish swimming school in Milford operates regarding special needs children. My son is 3 years old and he has mild autism (level 1). Before enrolling him into the program, I called and explained the receptionist of his limitations. She told me “We’ve had children in the spectrum before and they have done well, just bring him in.” I was eager to sign him up because he loves water, even though this place is a 40-minute drive for me. After the very first lesson, an employee by the name of Jackie said Goldfish couldn’t accommodate him but that they would wait couple of weeks to see how’d do. I totally understand that having a special needs child requires more attention, but I think they need to be transparent and upfront about their policies and also educate their employees about this, since there aren’t only perfect children in the world who are able to sit still for their turn, especially at 3. Lastly, at another time, Jackie was unfortunate in her comment when she told me at the end of one of his lessons: “Ugh, today he’s been the worst he has EVER been.” That was an unacceptable comment and down right hateful. Luckily, my son won’t ever remember this place. I give 2 starts because the place is really clean and organized with a few good hearted people, like Heather at the front desk.

P.s Private lessons wasn't going to be an issue for us if they had told us of their "policies" beforehand. So there is not excuse!

We absolutely love Goldfish Swim School. We like how small the class sizes are. We also appreciate the instructors. We love that they interact with our daughter and their enthusiasm. 30 minutes is just the right amount of time, too!

Goldfish Swim School has helped my two year old son feel comfortable in the water. He went from crying during his first lesson, to smiling and laughing throughout the entire 30 minutes. The best part to me is my son has made such great progress while having fun!
