Highly recommend Goldfish for your kiddos. My kids are more confident in the water and are enjoying the classes. I like that they are learning water safety and how to swim. They do a great job making it safe and fun! Sign up early because there is usually a very long waitlist for the younger kids to get into a class.

We truly cannot say enough positive things about Goldfish and this location specifically. Both my children started swimming here around 4/5 months and have loved the water ever since. The instructors are knowledgeable and engaged and seem genuinely excited and happy to be there! The facilities are clean and spacious - plenty of changing rooms and changing tables in the bathrooms! They even have diapers and wipes in a changing section in case you forget. The pool is warm which was really important to me and they leave plenty of room in the pool baby sections to move around without bumping into people. We tried another location and decided to go back to Westford even though the drive is a little further because they are that good! They also have a great make up policy and we so appreciate that flexibility with all the random things that come up with travel and sickness with littles.

My kids have learned so much and gained tremendous confidence in a short period of time at Goldfish! My son in particular did not like being in the water without floaties or putting his face in the water and only after three lessons he was allowing the coaches to help him swim to the bottom of the pool to pick up a ring with goggles on!

My kid always has a good time at swim school. Her teacher keeps the lessons interesting and teaches her new skills each time. She's learning a lot but doesn't even notice because they make it feel like play instead of work. The whole staff is friendly.

Sawyer and I always feel welcomed when we arrive starting with the Greeting on her first day on the entrance sign. The facility is clean and laid out well. The time in the water is well planned with a combination of fun and learning. The instructor's have been wonderful and we look forward to our lesson every week.

My daughter has been taking lessons at Goldfish for a couple of months now, and we're very happy.
On her first day we felt very welcomed. Someone came to greet us at the door, explained everything we needed to know. Very organized and friendly. Contacting them via e-mail is so easy and I always get a quick response. They have been very accommodating, specially in the beginning when my daughter was having separation anxiety.
Place looks amazing! Very kid friendly, my daughter loves the little play area when we're waiting for her lesson to begin. The hair drier is a big plus! Specially in the cold months.
So far I'm very happy with our choice.

I took my daughter for their infant swim classes for a couple of months. 3 stars because the swim instructors are great and deserve some recognition. No issues at all in the pool/with instructors.
The front desk is the issue. No one has any customer service skills, they act like when you walk up to ask them a question that youβre interrupting them. I never got any decent customer service from anyone who sits front desk. My first day I walked in and didnβt know any procedures/what do to first/where to change as this is my first child and my first time ever at any swim class even for myself. No one said βhi how are you?!β As I walked up they were too busy talking to each other. I had to say βexcuse me, we are new here what do we do?β They pointed at the changing rooms and said just make sure she has a swim diaper on. No one told me what lane we were in until I had to go up and ask AGAIN what do I do? None of the desk people told me that when you sign up for the first month they keep charging you until you cancel membership and you canβt cancel membership immediately you have to do before you get charged for the next month. No one explained any of this. I worked customer service and the front desk here is severely lacking.

Day 1 was great and we already love the trainer. The front desk staffs welcome nicely, they have a welcome bag with T Shirt. I told it's 5T, found out at home it was 4 T. No big deal, I will just return and get the correct size. Day 2 was great again. I told the staff, if they have 5T, they said it's out of stock. No big deal, I will come again, also I enquire about family free time and rescheduling class as I m new to Gold Fish. I went again if they have 6T, because that may also fit my kid. But then the person behind me later told me, they were mocking at me. That's not cool. It's Saturday morning, not so busy day, don't understand what kind of attitude is that. The Tshirt given to us promotes their brand and I wanted just the appropriate size so that she can sometimes wear it.
One less staff for the staffs etiquette. The trainer is great, so will continue. But the attitude of the staffs, I would rather avoid.

There are 2 main problems with Goldfish:
1) They are not open enough days out of the year. Their Christmas and New Year break extends all the way till Jan 8. They take a nice long vacation, at their customer's expense (we still pay the same monthly dues), while everyone else is back to work. This is totally unacceptable.
2) They have a terrible cancellation policy which, logically, makes no sense. You can technically cancel all the way until 1 minute before the scheduled class, but not 1 minute over. Makes no sense. What difference does it make ? It is another example of sheer greed.
3) The argument most people make, which is not really an argument because it is a well known fact, is how little time each student actually gets to swim (the younger the student, the fewer the number of minutes they get). That comes with group lessons, but the issue is compounded by the fact that they arrange the pool horizontally so that each lane is barely 20 feet long. If you really want your kids to get good at swimming, take them toe Westfit or Boys and Girls Club where they can take advantage of a bigger pool.

It is a 'Swimming introduction center' not strictly a 'Swimming coaching center'. I enrolled kids in the center for more than an year and my experience is not great.
I didn't see the trainers putting any effort to advance the kids to next level (there are a few exceptions where the trainer is more than amazing but you can't choose the trainer). Most of the trainers are high school grads who might be great at swimming but less proficient in training. They go strictly by the training plan handed over to them, it doesn't matter if the kid the learning or not.
Your kid will be in a lane with 3-4 other kids and on average your kid will get 5-9minutes 'water time'. I raised it with the management and their response was kind of 'if you are not happy feel free to un-enroll'.
So after sending 2 kids to this center for more than an year my suggestion is that if you want to introduce swimming to your kids this is recommended. But if you think that your kids will become proficient in swimming after sending them here, think again.
This is my personal experience not a conclusive statement that applies to all; you might have a great experience. Good luck !

Gold Fish swimming school has been a blessing for my family, and I am particularly grateful for Sherri LeDuc, who is my autistic son's instructor. Sherri is an incredibly professional and compassionate teacher who recognized that my son needed more individualized attention than group swimming lessons could provide. She suggested private lessons for him, and not only did she find a spot for him, but she continues to teach him with great care and dedication. I feel incredibly fortunate to have someone like Sherri in our lives, and I am grateful for the positive impact she has had on my son's swimming abilities and overall well-being.

Horrible experience, my son didn't know how to hold his breath and instead of teaching him they made him put his face and nose in water repeatedly getting water in his lungs. I could see way across from the viewing area how upset and in pain he was and none of the teachers in the pool or walking by could see. I had to take him out of the lesson where he started breaking down and coughing. Will never go back or recommend, my kids is traumatized and meanwhile I'm still paying for the school because they make you pay 30 days after canceling even though others are on the wait list. Don't be fooled by the pretty colors the substance of teaching is disgraceful! Also to the owner below I canceled 3/5 so of course you wouldn't charge for April, how does that help? Refund March is what you should do!

Itβs very clean and nice facility with great pool but unfortunately the curriculum not so great. Most of the lanes will have 3-4 kids and given the 25 minute class, your kid will not get more than 5-6 minutes of individual swim. Both my kids went there for a whole year, without taking a break and did not advance even one level. Given the location and classes were so convenient for us, we continued here until we realized itβs actually a waste for the kids time. We then enrolled them into a different school a bit far and the individual attention and focus on each skill set has made them advance multiple levels in months.
The school should really focus on lowering the class size and paying more focus on individual level. Otherwise this is more like a never ending gym membership.

Very clean and nice facility but the quality of the swim lessons are not good. Classes end at the 25 minute mark and most of the class is spent with each child just waiting for their turn. My daughter spends probably 5 minutes per class actually working on skills. The class is not challenging and I've seen very little improvement.

We enrolled my child as evaluated by goldfish in one of the groups. He spent a couple of months in that group about 3 weeks back he was informed he was ready to move up. They missed his evaluation last week.
Today my spouse confirmed with the team who comforted her that the system would shows he will be evaluated. At the end of the class surprise surprise, no evaluation. They said it will be next week.
Now we have paid for two classes with no new learning.
Update 9/7
Changed to 5 stars. Issue was corrected immediately and was an inadvertent miss.

Nice clean swimming school. Staffs are very helpful. But very unhappy with the course design. For 8 months, my daughter is learning how to get in the swimming pool and getting out from it. Well, some kids may have difficulty to learn quickly but thatβs not the case. I didnβt find them set any challenge that the kids like to overcome. I have decided to discontinue and not recommending anyone.

My son was attending the swim lessons since he was toddler. Within couple of years we havenβt seen any progress. Most of the time he sits and waits for his turn during 25 min lesson. My son is in a class with three other kids. He spends 2-4 minutes in the water out of each 30-minute class and he sits on the edge of the pool for rest of class. Classes are cut 5 minutes short for kids to transition in and out of the water, so class is really on 25 min. He is unlikely to learn to swim with such limited time in the pool. Definitely not worth 130+ per month.

Plenty of parking, very clean facility (bathrooms & changing rooms). This is a great place to bring your young child to learn to swim. The staff is so accommodating and willing to help your child overcome whatever might be holding them back. They honestly care about teaching your child to swim and not just collect a paycheck. They are very good about rescheduling classes, when your child can't make it too. My 2 children go here and I'm very happy with them.

My daughter has been attending Goldfish Swim school since November 2021 (she was 11 months at the time of enrollment) & Iβve been thoroughly impressed! The water is warm, the instructors are welcoming & enthusiastic and the environment is safe with everyone following COVID protocols. Changing rooms are clean, dry & always available. Staff is organized & caring. I even lost my daughterβs hat and when I went to the front desk, one of the staff members had found it! I was on the waiting list for almost 3 months before I joined, but at the end of the day; it was worth the wait. This an excellent, top-notch facility. Iβm somewhat satisfied with this school. Facility is pretty good but the teachers are on constant rotation every week. Iβve been bringing my 3 year old here for the last year and she is still in the beginner class. Itβs very difficult to move up to the next level(I believe she should be in the next level but there are no available spots so they are holding her back) and It gets frustrating in the beginner classes because not all the children cooperate and the other half are terrified of the water.
I recently canceled my membership for lack of progress.(there is a 30 day cancellation policyπ) My 3 year old is more comfortable in the water but it seems more like playing than taking an actual swim lesson.
Overall I would recommend this school if your child can already kinda swim. If they are going as a complete noob then I would wait it out until they are older or not afraid of the water.

When you google swim school for children with special needs goldfish pops up.
I had a horrible experience there ( westford location)
with the assistant manager. My Son has autism .. he is use to lane 3 -
We had a make up and had no idea lane would be switched .. he was struggling
So bad .. the kind workers in the pool decided to switch another child from lane 3 to lane 2 ( simple fix right ) he was also making up a class and is use to lane 2 .. it was in very beginning so no worries right .
Well assistant manager came over and started to tell me aggressively β I told u we were not switching β
I explained to her the employees did it .. she said at one point β we have been more accommodating β
Wow ! She also went over to another co worker and looked at me as complaining ( so unprofessional)So I messaged owner.. he definitely just forward email to her Bc she emailed .. I sadly tried to continue Bc he loved it and had no idea .
We stopped for some time and recently tried to get him back in .. an employee picked up .. I told her they mentioned one on one ..
She said they didnβt have it.. THEN looked him up and said βoh he is listed as NEEDING it.. called more than once - they never got back to me . I felt like my Son wasnβt wanted there .. he is now in Burlington- so happy ! What a difference!

Iβm giving this review due to the Front desk staff today; lacking professionalism, could not multi task, rolled her eyes at us while we waited.
If the call was personal it should have been taken elsewhere not when kids are trying to check in and find out their lane. They already only have only 30 mins to practice.
Also, I should throw in this actually wasnβt my first experience with the staff at the front desk. lol

Excellent staff! Excellent facility! Excellent changing rooms! Excellent toys to play it! Warm water! Hard to reschedule missed classes. Most of the time you have to leave a message but they will call you back quickly enough. It's hard to schedule a makeup class. I wish they had a system similar to my spin class where you can select a time and join a wait list. If someone cancels, you get their spot. Nice and easy, or I wish they could call you. We'd only need a 30 minute notice. It's pricey, but for what you get, I think their price is very fair. You do get what you pay for. My 2 kids go here and they'll keep going here.

I just wanted to take a minute and tell you how amazing my first experience there was. Everyone from the front desk staff, to the instructor, to the lifeguard, and even some random guy in the lobby in a Goldfish Polo was so welcoming. My Travis is only 4 months old so this was my first time and I had no idea what to expect. They walked me through everything, showed me around the facility, and placed an arm band on me so everyone knew it was my first day. They even gave me a bag of goodies. I couldn't believe all the things you can do with a 4 month old in a pool and was so impressed with the creativity. The instructor, Alex, was so fantastic. I was understandably uncomfortable dunking my infant under the water but she explained how that worked and I was totally on board. I couldn't believe I was able to do that with him on the first day! I am totally hooked and absolutely cannot wait for next week!
Thank you all so much for such a fantastic experience! You have a wonderful program for first-timers!

My 6 year old and 3 year old have learned so much in their respective classes in just a few lessons! Goldfish does a great job meeting each kid where they are. The other day, my 3-yo was playing in the bathtub and I heard him say "1-2-3-4-5, Good Job!" just like at Goldfish! :-D I appreciate the periodic ribbons when a child reaches an accomplishment, like swimming independently or advancing to the next level. The classes are fun, well-organized, and well-thought-out. The instructors are outstanding!

Great experience for both of my kids. The instructors are fantastic and have gone out of their way to meet the needs of my child on the autistic spectrum.
Only criticism is that I wish the pool was deeper (if memory serves, the deepest point is 4β 2β - awesome for little guys, but not so great for bigger/taller kids). My kids are super tall and doing things like treading water is challenging without a βdeepβ end.

I can't say enough about all of the staff at Goldfish Westford. All of the staff go out of there way to make sure that the kids not only learn how to swim but are happy in the building. When my older child choose not to swim I let him sit on the side of the deck while I swam with my 2 year old in her class. When one of the staff at the desk noticed that he had to go to the bathroom, she came onto the deck asked me if it was okay to take him and if he wanted to go with her. They went and came back and she told he was great and even washed his hands. This is not the only story of how they have helped me mange two kids at the same time, keeping them happy and learning both in and out of the water.

This is not our first class today (the previous experience was all good) however the worst experience ever. We went to a 10 am class with my 5 year old boy. The teacher seemed new. There were only two students in the class. The teacher obviously kept most of her attention on the other kid and only spent at most 5 min with my son. When The other kid started playing, and instead of leading the students back to focus on the class, the teacher started playing with the kid!!!! Left my son standing aside. This isnβt professional to us! When I called, the lady basically said the teacher is well trained and great so that I must be lying? My son seemed not happy - actually pretty sad. I feel their employees are just disrespectful - not everyone, but the teacher today and the lady who answered the phone.
Updates - called the manager Amanda, changed class, pretty happy about the way of her communication and handling issues.

Overall I'm not terribly happy. We enrolled our almost 3 year old child in June. He has attended probably 7 classes total (due to our vacations and them being closed 1 week). In that time, he has never had the same teacher twice. While this initially didn't bother him and he was doing really well, he is now showing a fear of getting into the water and is majorly regressing in his lessons. It is really pricey to have this kind of issue. And now I have to cancel and still pay for another month of classes I won't use (because he gets worse each class, bringing him is actually harmful)
They told us they were in a transition period over the summer. I get that. However, I'm still paying the premium price during your transition time.
Why 3 stars then and not 1? There's a lot to like here but the biggest factor for us was that they let an almost 3 year old in the water without an adult. They were the only ones in the area we could find like that. If the teacher had stayed constant, we would likely have stayed. This means others may be very happy with their experience if they don't get unlucky like us.

Everybody is so patient here everybody takes all the time it needs to help a child. They are very organized everything is readily available for what they need. And I love the fact that no matter what swimming lessons your child is getting thatβs what they getβ¦ No matter what group they are in. Itβs a comfortable placeFor all of us, and itβs clean!!

We did two attempts at YMCA lessons for my daughter and made 0 improvement. The water was freezing and she hated it. She LOVES swim classes at Goldfish Swim School though. Itβs one of her favorite times of the week.

My kids were very hesitant to do swim lessons in beginning. Hands down it was the amazing teachers & atmosphere at Goldfish that turned them around. Now they are excited to go to swim lessons & my oldest is close to swim force (their swim team).

My daughter has become far less fearful of her head being under water. So much so we can take a shower AND wash her hair. Rachel, Julia and Anthony are wonderfully patient young adults providing the basics with enthusiasm and proper execution. We will be back next Winter to improve for next Summer. Thank you Goldfish Westford!

One of the best parenting decisions we made was to have our son start at Goldfish when he was just 4 months old. He absolutely loves the water now, and goes to Goldfish every week.

My child wouldn't put her head underwater ever. After one lesson, she came home wanting to try. By lesson 2, she let the teacher dunk her. By lesson 4, she was bobbing up and down on her own showing off. She's only had 5 lessons, and has finally learned how to float on her back, and then 5 minutes later, she turned over and managed to dog paddle on her own for the first time. I am truly impressed with her quick progress. We love how efficient the school is, the teachers are great, obviously the lesson structure is working, and my daughter loves going to class. She has a smile on her face the whole time.

We are thrilled with the instruction and progress our child is making at Goldfish. The weekly format gives us consistency that is helping build strong swimming skills. In addition, the customer service is impecable. They are flexible and understanding of the chaos that can come with coordinating a kid's activity. If anything, our only trouble is that Goldfish has become so popular, that for evening and weekend classes the parking lot gets very full. (Day time weekdays are no problem.) But it's a small thing, compared to how great the whole experience is. We have recommended Goldfish to many people, and can't wait to keep taking advantage of all that they have to offer.

My son goes swimming with his father every Sunday morning and has a blast! He has made tremendous progress since joining. He's 2.5yo and was definitely nervous. At first we simply wanted him to get used to being in the water and figured he'd eventually participate in the lesson portion. After several weeks he now enjoys the lesson and learning from his instructor and father. He talks about the pool all week leading up to Sunday! It's been a great experience.
