In 1995, the Hanmi Taekwondo Center was established to offer professional Taekwondo instruction and foster personal growth and leadership in people of all ages. Our two facilities, in Worcester and Shrewsbury, provide an optimal environment where students discover the physical, mental, and emotional benefits that Taekwondo offers, helping them to achieve their utmost potential. We chose Hanmi for our energetic 5-year-old to help him with focus and the physical benefits of chanelling his energy, balance, and overall health. He started in August 2025 and loves it! He just completed his first belt test and was so excited to pass! I felt so welcomed immediately by Hanmi Tae Kwon Do. I trained as a kid and came back after 15 years and was nervous getting back into it, but the supportive and motivating environment made it easy to jump back in. Was looking for an after program for my girls and I stumbled on them on Facebook. My girls have been so excited from the first day of their trial period!

We love this place. The personal attention to my child is irreplaceable. My daughter is like mesmerized- listening and following instruction. The attention to me was also very nice. Me and Master Brown discussed the values of Tae Kwon Do and how they are very transferable in real life - persistency, hard work to achieve goals, respect. Always busy here. They have vans that will get you, I think or they just have vans that advertise they will get you. I haven't gone in but have seen the all happy faces coming out. Just one thing: No place I doors for parents to sit and watch or pick up their kids. I see parents outside in the rain, hot weather and snow peeking in windows. After a long day at work I can only imagine how much this sucks, I feel so bad for them.

I signed my daughter up for the after school program last year. She has changed since she started. She has shown more confidence the discipline and the self control she has gained!! She brought me to the Mother’s Day class’s and I joined. It is so much fun every one there has great attitudes and patience. I would totally recommend them to anyone I meet

terrible experience! i had paid for the classes in full ! 7 months ahead and only attended 5 months of the classes because i ended up moving to another city and they wouldn't return my calls about refunding the two months that i couldn't attend !
mind you i didn't sign a contract !
so if you are thinking about paying them in FULL DONT!
i left 20 messages and they couldn't even contact me back

Can’t say enough about this organization. We have been treated like family since day one. Everyone on staff is completely dedicated to the kids they even have fun events like movie nights Christmas parties Halloween trunk or treat’s Valentine’s Day parties and cook outs at the park. When my son was entering kindergarten, I didn't know what to do in terms of his afterschool care. Two colleagues of mine, both had their sons enrolled in Hanmi's Afterschool Program. I reached out to the studio and scheduled a meeting with Grand Master Brown. I remember my initial hesitation prior to meeting with her.
I am VERY happen to say, my family has been PROUD members for many years. My 13 year old son is now a second degree Black Belt and my 6 year old daughter has recently earned her Green Belt. I am beyond grateful for their continued guidance, motivation, discipline, and commitment to teaching our youth (and adults) to be respectful to everyone.

Hanmi Tae Kwon Do is the best! We have watched our son grow so much through their training and teachings. All the Masters and Grandmaster at Hanmi teach the kids as if they were their own family. As a resident of the neighborhood I find it disheartening that they seem to think they can park their vans on street- ALL DAY- in areas that are marked 1 hour parking. You'd think they would have respect for the law and respect for neighbors and other businesses that do NOT have a parking lot their building is attached to. Those that rely on that parking at night. Will be reporting to police daily until the vehicles get towed. Anyplace that teaches discipline should also practice what they teach. One star deserved. Move your vans! You do not own the road!

My daughter has been a student at Hanmi for several years, and about a year ago she convinced me to attend the Father's Day class with her. At that time I had no intention of becoming a student, but I enjoyed the class and decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did because I have had a great experience. The instructors are top-notch, and they really take an interest in trying to encourage the students to bring out the best in them individually--it's not a one-size-fits-all approach. There's a great variety from one class to another, so it keeps it fresh and fun and makes it easier to stick with the program. I highly recommend Hanmi Tae Kwon Do as both a parent and as an adult student.
