Pool HVAC system needs to be replaced, air quality is poor. The air burns your eyes after 15 minutes. I talked to management and they said they are not going to replace the HVAC system.

Being 72 and somewhat handicapped after several leg and spine surgeries this facility is ideal. All on one floor for me to use shallow half of the pool for walking, relaxing in the large hot tub etc. The exercise / weight machine area is amazing in the variety of opportunities to work and strengthen my legs. There is always a staff member doing the sanitary wipe-down of the machines if a member forgets or choses not to do so. For that matter, the cleaning staff keeps the entire building and grounds spotless and in order. Very nice compared to other gym facilities I have used in the past. A young woman at the front desk has taken the time to learn and address me by name which is a very nice touch. My wife and I enjoy visiting 3-4 times per week.

do not try to go there, if you are not white, they will treat you differently,
I am writing regarding an upsetting incident that occurred at the pool involving a staff member named Greg, who I believe is one of the outdoor pool lifeguards.
On 7/17/2025 around 6:40 pm, my children were swimming in the pool and briefly stepped out to get a snack. As they were walking back, they were moving a bit quickly, and apparently Greg blew his whistle from the other side of the pool. We could not hear what he was saying clearly. Suddenly, he called out to my children in a very rude and humiliating manner and told them they were no longer allowed to swim for the rest of the day or use the splash park,
He did not even attempt to speak with me, their mother, although I was with them at the time.
What is most disturbing is that there were other children present, but mine were the only ones who were asked to leave. This made the situation feel deeply unfair and possibly discriminatory.
The incident had a significant emotional impact on my children. They were visibly shaken, started crying, and said they were too scared to go back into the water. They cried all the way home and their joyful experience turned into something traumatic.
I respectfully request that this matter be investigated seriously. An apology is owed to me and my children Β from him for the emotional harm caused, especially considering how sensitive they are.
Greg had no right to expel us from the pool. His behavior was not only unprofessional but also hurtful and possibly discriminatory.

I'm new at the gym and went into the pool, but the lifeguard asked me to leave because there was a class scheduled at 5:30 PM. It was only 4 PM, and I told him I had just been in the water for five minutes. He insisted that I had to leave, saying they needed it for the class the pool even if no one was using it. I argued that since no one was in the pool until 5:30, he could at least let me stay for another 10 minutes. He remained firm, so I decided to go to the jacuzzi instead.
While there, a guy told me he had also been asked to leave for the same reason, even though nobody was using the pool. I mentioned that I was going to file a complaint about it. I complained at the reception, and the lady there called the management for me. I explained what had happened, but the manager didn't seem to care at all.
As a new member, I found it unprofessional for the YMCA to kick people out of the pool in that manner.

The Hockomock YMCA in Foxboro is a top-notch facility that offers a welcoming, community-focused environment for all ages. It features a wide range of amenities including a full gym, indoor pool, fitness classes, basketball courts, and youth programs. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. The facility is clean and well-maintained, making it a great place to work out, take classes, or spend time with family. Highly recommended for both fitness and community engagement.

Thereβs a lot of activities to choose from for every member of the family. With the family membership you can do almost everything for not to much money. The programs are well designed for the kids so they can learn the basics of every sport and the coaches have great attitude. The adult classes are fun, challenging and the instructors / staff are awesome.

During family swim they rented out the family pool. Putting all the normal members for family swim in two lap pools with no means of exit or entrance other than the kids having to get out by pulling themselves up on the hard tile. Pools must have a direct means of egress. I made the front desk aware of this and asked them to move the kids to the first lane so they had a means to get out by stairs/railing they refused. I told them they were in violation of Massachusetts law as the two lap pools had no means of egress as all ladders for exit were blocked off by ropes/in deep in (small kids canβt even swim in) they did not care.

I so appreciate the YMCA for their services and programs. I have' been regularly using the Wellness Center at the Y. It has the state of the art machines. The wellness center is a perfect place to work out while maintaining quietness. Because of my regular exercise at the Gym I feel physically strong, emotionally and spiritually healthy. I am grateful for the management and the staff who work there. Keep up the great work. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to live a healthy life.

We had a very bad experience at the Off the Common YMCA. Our son has some special needs (speech delay & canβt express himself). They βsuspendedβ our child for a couple days and then 2 weeks later kicked him out of the program without proper notice. There was annother child who is similar to our child and they were asked to leave too. I talked with his other program and we were the 2 or 3rd family to be asked to leave. I understand the safety aspect of him throwing toys towards classmates but how we were asked to leave was very unprofessional & we were getting called at least 1-2wk to come pick up our child because of behaviors. Our son was observed there by his SLP and there was NO STRUCTURE there at all after we were promised all this structure. When the director would talk to us in meetings honestly felt degrading. The way the teacher talked to us a couple times was very rude as well... we would pick him up & no one would introduce themselves or be able to tell us about his day. That was very concerning to us.
If your child has any sort of special need, DO NOT SEND THEM TO OFF THE COMMON!!!!

As a parent, there is no greater peace of mind than knowing that your child is in a safe, nurturing, and
understanding environment. Off The Common Early Learning Center has been an absolute godsend for
our family, especially in caring for our autistic son, Sean.
From the very first day, the staff at Of The Common showed not only their professional expertise ,but
also their boundless compassion. They took the time to understand SeΓ‘ns' unique needs and worked
diligently to create a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where he could thrive.
The individualized attention and care Sean receives are truly remarkable. The team employs tailored
strategies that cater to his sensory preferences, ensuring he feels comfortable and engaged. It is evident
that every staff member is genuinely dedicated to making each day a positive experience for Sean.
One of the most outstanding aspects of the staff at Off The Common is their unwavering patience and
kindness. The staff consistently go above and beyond to communicate effectively with Sean, using
methods that resonate with him. Their approach has greatly enhanced his social skills and confidence.
Moreover, the facility itself is a wonderland for children, filled with enriching activities that foster
creativity and learning. Sean particularly enjoys the sensory play areas, which are thoughtfully designed
to accommodate children with different needs.
The open lines of communication between the caregivers and parents are another testament to their
excellence. We receive regular updates on SeΓ‘ns' progress, and the staff are always available to discuss
any concerns or ways we can work together to better facilitate in his care.
In a world where finding the right childcare can be daunting, Off The Common stands out as a beacon of
care, understanding, and excellence. We are forever grateful for the positive impact they have had on
Sean and our family. I wholeheartedly recommend Off The Common to any parent seeking a place
where their child will be loved, supported, and encouraged to grow.
Thank you, Off The Common Staff, for being a part of SeΓ‘ns' journey and for touching our lives in such a
profound way.
With Much Love ,
The Kelly Family

The Foxborough Y offers a lot of activities for the young and old. It's very clean, and the staff, particularly at the front desk, are extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. This level of professionalism is true of the other Y's in the Hockomock area. One example, I would like to highlight is when my husband and I were away for a good part of the Summer, I asked to have our account on hold. Despite making this request while away (in early July), I was given credit for July and not charged for August, This level of understanding is a contrast to the Brighton Y, where my sister is a member and made the same request. However, her request was ignored and to date has not heard from the Manager. Thank You, Hockomock Y!

The facility is very nice, which can be misleading! Youβre drawn there for the nice equipment and facilities better then almost any other YMCA, however the staff doesnβt treat children with respect at all. I had the unpleasant experience of watching a staff member get into a 12 year olds face! After telling all of us in the family locker room that the YMCA was closing, we said of course and that we were on our way. This front desk worker then singled out a young sweet Hispanic child that was near us and almost yelled the exact same thing we had all heard. The child handled herself correctly and said I understand with a little bit of a snark due to the her being singled out. The worker then proceeded to GET INTO HER FACE! I have never seen an adult act so poorly. It honestly felt like race had something to do with it but Iβll refrain from making it just about that. As no child of any ethnicity should receive unfair treatment. Absolutely disgusting to watch. My girlfriend was there watching this unfold and had to STEP IN BETWEEN the worker! There is no reason for behavior like that, as the child wasnβt getting into her face at all and had already dropped it and was getting ready to leave. Absolutely disgusting!

Staff is absolutely horrendous to children. Iβve had two accounts where I have gone with friends and seen how they treat children there. Children should be treated with respect and kindness.

I love playing pickle ball at the Foxboro YMCA. While this activity doesnβt involve any YMCA staff, itβs been a great experience. The core group of players is very welcoming to new players, ready to provide advice - because it has always been about everyone enjoying the experience, regardless of skill level.

I joined the Foxboro Y back in March. The people that work there are so kind, friendly and respectful to all. I happen to swim when time allows for my schedule, the lifeguards are a good group of kids. Friendly, helpful and kind. Being a Lifeguard is not an easy job, trying to keep all in a happy place, making sure all stay safe. Thank you Foxboro Y.

Horrible experience yesterday. My son and his friends were continually harassed by unprofessional staff. One of his friends may have been argumentative about indoor pool hours. However, that does not give the employees the right to treat teenagers like they are in in prison. Shame on them.

The gym was flooded with unsupervised kids just playing around with weights and machines. It is extremely dangerous and disrupting to those actually there to use the space as it's meant to be used. Gyms usually have an age minimum requirement for a reason.

Signing up to swim is extremely confusing. I could never get a slot so I am going to a different Y where I don't have to stare at the computer screen so I won't miss a the "book" button.

Fabulously well-equipped YMCA facility. Very clean, great staff. The double-gymnasium serves as a fine venue for live music performances and dances.

Very poor customer service. Their swimming program used to be good but it is a joke now. Just get your kids in the water but if your really need them to learn, my advice is to take them somewhere else where trainers are professionals. Goes for any sport really.

You know you've forgotten your mask π· once or twice, πββοΈ running back to your car before you go in anywhere. But I left them at home a half hour ride away & was bringing the the little ones to a great gymnastics class held here. The wonderful women β€ at the front desk were to the rescue! They gave them the last 2 disposable masks so they could be on time. It would've crushed their hearts π if they couldn't have gotten in. Thank you for sharing and making it possible! They had a great time!
