After a really difficult experience at a previous gym, finding this community has been a complete game changer. Coach and owner Kyle creates an incredibly safe, supportive, and empowering environment — something that means a lot to me. From day one, I felt genuinely welcomed and respected.
The atmosphere here is positive and motivating; everyone celebrates each other’s progress. Kyle’s coaching is knowledgeable and personalized — I’ve already made noticeable strength gains since training with him. He pushes me in the best way, and I trust his guidance completely.
And of course, Tankk (his dog) brings so much joy, cuteness, emotional support and fun

If you’re looking for a gym where you’ll feel safe, supported, and truly part of a community while getting stronger, I can’t recommend mass strength enough 🖤🖤🖤🖤

Mass Strength and Coach Kyle Thebado have been an absolute game-changer for me. I’ve been training there for just over a year now, and in that time, I’ve hit every goal I set—and I’ve done it pain-free with workouts that are both challenging and effective. I actually look forward to going, which says a lot.

Kyle is the real deal. He’s a certified Strength Coach and a member of top-tier organizations like the National Strength & Conditioning Association, USA Weightlifting, and USA Powerlifting. That level of dedication and professional involvement shows—he’s incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about his craft, and truly invested in every single person who walks through the door. Whether you’re a competitive powerlifter, recovering from an injury, or just trying to get stronger and feel better, Kyle gives you his full attention and meets you where you're at.

The gym itself is amazing—never overcrowded, no casual gym distractions, just people of all levels working hard, sharing equipment, and supporting each other. It’s a focused, respectful environment where you can actually train and progress.

Kyle’s consistency and care are what keep people coming back. Everyone I’ve met there has been with him long-term because his program works, plain and simple. You see it in the strength and confidence of every member. And yes—his dog Tank is also a total legend.

If you’re looking to elevate your workouts, chase specific goals, or just become a stronger, healthier version of yourself, I can’t recommend Mass Strength enough. It’s for everyone—seriously, give it a try. You’ll be glad you did.

Kyle and his team truly care about those that they train. Kyle is very patient, explains everything to his clients, shows them the best form so they don’t get injured, and travels to every meet he can for his clients. Kyle, his coaches and clients call themselves a family and they are every bit a family and more. Cheering for each other and helping each other succeed in whatever their goals are. Great group, chill spot and Tankk is the best greeter there is.

Amazing gym and even better coaching. I’ve been training in Olympic weightlifting at Mass Strength since the gym opened. Kyle’s thoughtful coaching has resulted in significant improvements in my strength, technique, and competition mindset. He has built a welcoming and supportive community that will help push you to reach your goals. I’ve competed in several WL meets here as well that were super fun and run efficiently by Kyle and his staff/volunteers. Tons of great equipment and clean too. Would recommend to anyone interested in Olympic lifting, powerlifting, or just getting strong. 💪

Very rude and inconsiderate owner wouldn’t let me in the gym even though my membership had only expired 2 days before. I told him ‘i know it was a 30 day membership but its only 32 days later’ to which he responded ‘thats not how business works. 30 days is 30 days, if everyone acted like you then no business would even have a 30 day membership or warranty since apparently it doesnt mean anything if two days later you can just complain until you get your way.’ I will be taking this to the BBB im sure they will understand…

I attended Mass Strength for an Olympic Weightlifting competition in January. Parking, local food options and start times were all included in timely emails and social media alerts. The Meet is well run for the number of people and moving parts in the space. Thank you Mass Strength.

Mass Strength, led by the charismatic and knowledgeable owner/coach, Kyle, is a gym powerhouse that hits all the right notes. Kyle's coaching finesse is a sight to behold - breaking down cues like a pro and crafting personalized programs smoother than a well-oiled barbell. From Olympic weightlifting to powerlifting, they've got your gain goals covered. The community vibe? Stronger than your one-rep max. At Mass Strength, you'll not only lift weights but also lift spirits - making friends faster than you can say "PR." And Kyle? He's not just a coach; he's the heart and soul of a home away from home. Whether you're a lifting enthusiast or a new to exercise, a visit to Mass Strength is like finding your newfound paradise.

Kyle has been one of the greater blessings in my life. I first met Kyle when we coached together in Needham back in 2017. After years of being driven by the excitement of CrossFit and finally injuring myself, I decided it was time to make a change. Kyle has quite literally changed not only my body physically, but my entire mentality and relationship with exercise. He has helped me target my weaknesses in order to live a pain free life, while also feeling strong and hitting PRs. Watching Kyle finally obtain his dream of having his own business and gym has been so incredible to watch. Although I live in Colorado, I wouldn’t choose to work with any other human! I cannot recommend Kyle and MASS Strength enough!

I am newer to strength,, conditioning and resistance training. I started training at Mass Strength 3 months back and it was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Kyle is an incredible coach and the best kept secret in New England.

Kyle’s knowledge and subject matter expertise is deep and vast. He is also kind, patient, motivational, aspirational and works with you closely on your health goals. He develops a workout program each week and monitors the progress. And believe me, you will keep making great progress.

In 3 months, I have become a lot stronger, healthier and have lost weight. To top it all, Mass Strength is an amazing community of people and friends who encourage each other every day. Thank you Kyle and the Mass Strength community!

Mass strength is New England’s premier athletic training facility. The staff are extremely smart, professional, and accommodating. Most importantly, the gym is a community. Joining this gym, you will surround yourself with like minded, motivated individuals who mutually encourage and push each other to the next level of physical excellence. The community elevates itself; in doing so, it fosters a family of empathetic, empowering, and unstoppable apostles of health. You will exceed your goals in this community.

I'm traveling through the US and was grateful Mass Strength offered a $25 drop in pass. I was able to get in a good spin and lifting session. This gym has a really genuine feel to it. I was surrounded by people who were working on their strength and fitness, not their social media following. It was refreshing and motivating!

I first went to MASS Strength because – a few months after learning to snatch a barbell – I obviously needed coaching to progress further (and to progress safely) with my newfound love for Olympic weightlifting. I found much more than just coaching at MASS Strength. I learned the difference between a personal trainer and a personal coach, the difference between a commercial gym and a training hall, and the difference between a crowd of fellow gymgoers and a supportive extended family. To achieve your potential in weightlifting, athletics, or any vocation, you need to surround yourself with talented, hardworking, empathetic people who push you to become a better version of yourself. You need a focused training environment, and you need a mentor to guide you both tirelessly and patiently, passionately and compassionately, with a head for exercise science and a heart fully committed to seeing you achieve your goals. Head coach Kyle offers exactly that at MASS Strength: a training facility where each piece of equipment is meticulously maintained, a family of strength enthusiasts, and coaching that is tailored to your individual needs, both physical and psychological. I tried out with several barbell clubs before finding MASS Strength, but MASS Strength stood out as the one who could provide not just a program and technical feedback but also a community of likeminded athletes, personalized coaching, and flexible membership offerings for busy professionals and full-time working parents. Like many members, I live 30 miles from the gym and train remotely most days, but the commute is time well spent on days that I can make it to Franklin. In the first six months after joining the weightlifting team, I recovered from shoulder tendonitis (that had developed prior to starting with MASS Strength), competed in my first weightlifting meet, increased my weightlifting total by 15%, and met some of the strongest, most passionate, fun people in my life. Whether you're new to Olympic weightlifting, a seasoned powerlifter, or rehabbing a musculoskeletal injury, this is the place to be.

I couldn't ask for a better gym or a better coach. Gym-wise: MASS Strength is fully equipped for everything weightlifting or powerlifting related, equipment is in great condition, and the environment is welcoming and friendly to everyone who walks in. Coach-wise: Kyle is focused on being the type of coach that you need, and can sense what motivates and encourages you without you having to explain it, which is rare and incredibly appreciated. He tailors each cycle towards your goal/focus while strengthening your weaknesses, and is able to adjust around injuries.
Novice or experienced lifter, this is definitely the gym to go to.

Simply put, Kyle is the best of the best. If you are looking for a coach to help you realize your goals, no matter what they are, Kyle is your guy. I have been working with Kyle since I met him back in 2018, and when the pandemic hit I quickly reached out to him to program workouts until normal life resumed. Two and half years later I won’t work with anyone else. Through programming workouts and nutritional guidance, Kyle has helped me (and my husband) get in the best shape of our lives. He is not only super knowledgeable, but customizes workouts based on your goals, and is literally your biggest cheerleader. Friends of ours constantly ask what our secret is, and we always just tell them “Kyle”.

Coach Kyle is currently helping me prepare for my first Powerlifting meet. He is an incredible coach, meticulous with his planning and programming as well as an outstanding technical coach. What makes him uniquely special, however, is that he truly cares about his athletes and that comes across with every single coaching interaction. He is one of a kind and a master of his craft. The gym itself is spacious, clean, and offers everything you need as a strength athlete. I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a CSCS myself and I would recommend Kyle without reservation to anyone looking to get stronger in a safe and effective manner.

I've been attending the Strength & Conditioning class with Kyle for a couple months now and I have never felt stronger and more confident in my abilities. He knows exactly when to encourage you to pick up more weight and push yourself. He holds you accountable, checks in, and makes sure you understand why and what you are doing. The workouts are effective, safe, and fun. The music is on point. There is all the equipment you need. And Kyle is super welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. He makes the power lifting and Olympic weightlifting world accessible to all. And his dog, Tank, is the BEST.

As someone who hasn't been athletic since college and wanted to get back into fitness, I highly recommend MASS Strength. I’ve been going to the strength and conditioning classes for about a month. Kyle has demonstrated the ability to scaffold workouts to meet all ability levels, which makes working out feel accessible and fun.

I’ve worked with a lot of trainers and coaches in the past, but Kyle is hands down the best of the best. He goes above and beyond to make sure you understand, and can execute, every exercise. Kyle is super welcoming, motivational and knowledgable (and his dog Tank makes a great workout buddy). Overall a great experience!

When I say Kyle is hands down one of the best coaches alive, I absolutely mean it. We were classmates at UMASS Boston and always admired his passion and precision with what he does... but it wasn't until he handled me at my second powerlifting meet, that I realized the coach he was... truly blew me away to the point that I couldn't see myself working with anyone else to help me achieve the goals I aim for today.
