My one hour private session with Mike was amazing. He really gets you to think about and internalize what a good golf swing is. By the end of the session I felt like I had a completely different but so much more natural feeling swing. He had me striping almost every ball 190 yards straight down the middle with a 7 iron. Mike is an excellent golf instructor and teacher. It took him no time at all to diagnose my swing and get my game improved. His approach is simple and effective and he teaches you everything from swing mechanics to course management. He doesn't pre-schedule lessons, but rather waits to see how you're improving and works with you to find the right areas to focus on. As my lessons package has started to wrap up he's even gone as far to tell me to leave and not come back because I've gotten my swing to a good place and I should just approach each shot with confidence from here on out. I usually don't write reviews so let me give you a little background on my experience with Mike. I am a longtime golf hacker playing on and off for the past 30 years with no real instruction. I have read the typical books and watched countless youtube videos to develope my swing but never could get to the desired ball flight. Granted, over the past 10-15 years I would play only couple of times a year as my kids schedules demanded my free time but now being an empty nester, I felt it was time to get back in the game! Mike analysed my swing managed to make small adjustments to address and swing path that to my shock was able to get that draw ball flight we all look for. Mike is careful to give you enough information to make a change without overwhelming you with info and getting lost in all the change. I am lloking forward to our next lesson. If you are sitting on the fence about his coaching, my advice is just do it!

Mike's approach let's you understand the mechanics of your swing and his direction/guidance gives you confidence. He corrects what you think you are doing with what you should be doing, using simple tools and visuals. I booked a 3 lesson package with him and each of the lessons builds upon the one before. I’ve played golf off and on for over 40 years and never took a lesson. Now that I am able to ramp up my time on the course, I could have not picked a better time or person to take my first lessons with than Mike Doyle. He is a great teacher and knows how much information to impart at each stage so that the changes are not too dramatic and have time to become consistent. I signed up for the four pack of lessons with Mike, and my only regret is I hadn’t taken lessons from him sooner! Mike does a great job helping you improve your swing, and I’m undoubtedly making

One of the best golf experiences I have ever had. Mike knew exactly where adjustments needed to be made after the first few swings. I really don't know what to say about Mike. I've golfed for 30+ years and I was completely lost and close to giving up the game. Mike worked at analyzing every part of my swing, from the grip, stance right through the swing. He not only instructs on the proper swing mechanics, but teaches the physics of the swing and what happens through the swing. After a few short months, I am striking the ball better than I have since I was young. I now know how to figure out what I have done wrong to quickly correct bad shots. The facility at XGolf is outstanding as well. I've had a few golf instructors over the years and no one has even come close to the job Mike has done. Mike Doyle is the only instructor you will ever need. Stop watching videos (yes, even by Rick Shiels) and book an appointment with Mike. I have only taken one lesson so far, (but I signed up for more) and it fixed almost every issue I was having. My HC had increased from 19 to nearly 22 because I was trying to fix my own swing issues. Mike changed my grip, my stance and my confidence. Within about 5 minutes I was not only hitting it straight but much farther than I had been. I have more lessons coming and I can't wait to see what he will change next. I played in a golf Tournament two days after my lesson and my golf partners could not believe I only had one lesson. They all wanted to know about Mike. Mike makes it easy by telling you to forget everything you've learned so far, and then he just fixes it, period !! He's patient and has a great sense of humor. I'm looking forward to my next lesson.

( August 1, 2022) I wanted to update my review now that I have taken 5 lessons and played a few rounds. Every lesson is important and I would recommend at least two lessons (probably four or five if you're like me). You have to go out and practice what Mike teaches, and once you do, you will see a remarkable improvement. Now that it has "clicked" I feel more comfortable than ever. Some of the changes made to my swing I am able to complete without much thought, I am dropping my scores consistently. For example, I shot a 41 last week on nine holes (Triggs), and a 91 a couple of days later (Triggs). It is only a matter of time (hopefully this weekend) when I break 90 consistently. Once I do, I will be heading back to Mike so he can help me break 80.

One of the most important lessons he gave (besides the changes he made to my swing and grip) was the course management lesson. Something we, as golfers, tend to overlook, but can cost us 6-10 strokes a round (sometimes more). This was excellent, and it has also changed my game.

Stop wasting time and book a lesson. I booked my first lesson and once I knew how good he was I signed up for the package of four lessons. I highly recommend Mr. Mike Doyle !!

After struggling for about 5 years, hitting un-playable slices off the tee box, long irons with a max distance of 150 yards (not straight) and putting from the fairways because chipping was a frightening thought. I decided to get my first lesson. Mike was referred to me by a family member and I can honestly say it was the best decision of my young golfing career. By the end of my first lesson I was hitting my irons straight and further than ever before. I immediately signed up for a package of lessons and could not be happier. Before my lessons, my average round of golf would consist of, irons off the tee box, duffs, shanks, slices, 5-10 lost balls and easily in the 100-120 strokes on the scorecard. Now I can hit my driver in play, and every club in my bag goes the distance it should go for a player of my age and ability. I am confident in my swing and have been playing better then I ever thought was possible. The weekend after my 3rd lesson I had posted my best score of my life an 87! I was a different player and the golfer I was before was not recognizable! I have just completed my fourth and final lesson ( for now) and could not be happier with the results.Mike broke down my swing and the strategy of golf into easy ways I understood and I could not recommend him enough! I retired recently and decided it was long overdue to have my golf swing analyzed and tweaked. I’m a lifelong golfer with very inconsistent golf scores. Some days I play fine and other days I’m all over the place.

I had been playing golf for three years and not improving. I had taken some lessons with other coaches and did not enjoy the lessons and didn’t improve. Last spring I took a lesson from Mike Doyle. He was able to watch my swing and rather than just focus on all that I was doing wrong, he explained what I needed to do to get the results I wanted. I have been playing golf for close to 7 years. Started out as a past time with friends, and then I have just hacked my way from there. After years of no improvement I finally decided to look into golf lessons for the first time. I wish I had done so much sooner... Mike purposely broke down the golf swing in way that doesn't confuse, or fill your mind with endless swing thoughts. 15 minutes into my first lesson, I hit an iron shot that I have never heard, felt, or seen come off of my club before... I’m a beginner golfer and signed up for one lesson with Mike in Spring ‘21 to get some guidance as taking advice from friends/family and internet research just wasn’t cutting it. Within 10 minutes Mike had me making great contact and hitting the ball well for my experience level. I immediately signed up for a 4 lesson package and the sessions went great. Mike is great. I had 4 lessons to try and correct a bad hooking problem I developed over the last few years as well as touch up some other stuff. Within about 5 swings my hook turned into a much better looking draw. He made it sound so simple and explains things very well. After my second and third lessons, I was much better with my chipping game. I’m already seeing significant improvement on the course because Mike also taught me how to think differently... (smarter). Just took my first lesson with Mike at this location. We were on all grass tees, which was great. Mike really took my strengths into account and used them to help me fix my weaknesses. He listened to what I had to say about what I thought my skills were and where I could use some help. Mike Doyle is a pro golfer and also a teacher. A rare combination. Most pros tell you what you're doing wrong and then show you how. And expect you to "get it" right then and there Such an ineffective way for someone to learn! I took my first lesson with Mike last week after deciding to return to the sport after a 30+ year hiatus. To say my swing needed some tweaking was an understatement. Mike is a great instructor. He can immediately see what you are doing wrong with your swing and stance. He asks you questions of how you would approach obstacles to see if you are analyzing the situation correctly. Mike is personable, very knowledgeable about the game of golf, and makes things very simple to follow. After just the 2nd lesson, my hook was gone and I had gained 20+ yds on each of my clubs. Highly recommend going to see Mike if you’re looking to improve your golf game.

Let me preface this with I'm a beginner - I had been on a course twice before I figured it was time to take a lesson to really learn what I should be doing. Mike's way of explaining everything is simple. He takes what could be intimidating and breaks it down to something that is easy to understand.

I'm much more prepared for my next round, I'm confident I'll be back to see Mike to continue to develop and hone my skills in the future.
