Six weeks ago, I began training at MSC Strength and Conditioning. I have mild spastic cerebral palsy, and while I’m able to walk and move pretty freely, it’s challenging—I live with a lot of pain and discomfort in my body. As you can imagine, this makes trying new things, especially physical ones, a bit scary.
Something in me decided it was time for a change. When I filled out the inquiry form and spoke to Tina for the first time, I told her, “I’m a weakling—and I’m not being mean to myself. A gallon of milk is heavy for me.” She was so supportive and encouraging that, between our phone call and the positive reviews I’d read online, I decided to go in and check out the gym. I am SO HAPPY I did!!!
It’s been six weeks, and I’ve proven to myself that I’m capable of so much more than I’ve ever given my body credit for. I’ve consistently shown up for my workouts and have been absolutely AMAZED by the support I’ve received from every member of the staff.
I have a brain that leans toward perfectionism, and I can be really hard on myself when I’m learning something new. The support, encouragement, and follow-up from the staff at this gym are beyond anything I ever expected. My goal from that very first phone call was to feel safe and stable in my body—and today, I feel that more than ever, largely because of the incredibly warm and supportive community at MSC Strength and Conditioning.

I joined MSC to help me prepare for my first ever Hyrox competition in Boston and it was an amazing experience! I felt welcomed in instantly and everyone in the gym was super kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and truly cared about your success. At first, I had some difficulty preparing for Hyrox but they were very flexible and made a personalized program specific to the event and trained me through it for two months. MSC helped me significantly in achieving my goal of doing well and making Hyrox an unforgettable experience for me and my dad who competed together! Thank you Candace for helping me with my speed and strength. I’m hoping to get better on the tennis court and after just a couple months, I’m already seeing a difference. I’m getting to more balls and I’m not as tired after 2 sets.

MSC has been a life saver. I had been looking for a gym that would focus on mobility and strength to help work on some injuries and injury prevention. The coaching and facility is top notch. Very friendly staff and just an all around fantastic experience. I've felt big improvements in the stiffness and range of motion in my shoulders and ankles which have been an issue for me for YEARS. The coaches are great at building out a program that focuses on exactly what you need to work on, and help modify and adjust perfectly to keep progress consistent and work outs fun.

I've worked as a martial arts coach for two decades, and finding a gym and program that works for me, along with a coaching style that really resonates with me is very very important. I really can't recommend this gym enough.

I’ve been going to MSC for about 6 months now and only have good things to say. The coaches are all attentive and are able to articulate how an exercise is supposed to be done, which is good because I have the coordination of a noodle. They also keep me honest when I’m feeling a little lazy and try to use a lower weight than I should be.
The community is also warm and welcoming. Despite being probably the youngest member of the gym, I haven’t felt out of place.
Most importantly, when I have injuries which occur much too often in my line of work, they have always been able to adjust my exercises so that I’m still getting the most out of myself that I can while not aggravating whatever is wrong that day.

I joined MSC about 2 months ago and am loving it so far. I had not exercised regularly in several years, and this has made it easy to hold myself accountable and go on a consistent basis. I appreciate how much Tina has checked in since I have started to help keep me motivated and answer questions that I otherwise might not have reached out to ask. They were very supportive of me starting back slowly due to an old knee injury, and I am already feeling stronger again. The programming is excellent and all the coaches I have worked with have been great. They provide consistent feedback and encouragement without feeling the need to correct every move you make, which I really appreciate. The gym space is very open and they have a good variety of equipment to support their programs. Working out in a small group is fun and reminds me of working out with a sports team when I was younger. Highly recommend.

I cannot say enough good things about MSC! I originally planned to stay for just a couple of months—but here I am 6 months later! The welcoming community has been a huge part of that. I even joined the run club and will join an overnight community hike to Mt. Washington organized by the head coach!

The small group training format is amazing. The workouts are never boring—we use sandbags, kettlebells, medicine balls, and more to keep things fresh and challenging. Every session pushes me outside my comfort zone, and I’m feeling stronger with every class. I've noticed improvement in both my overall strength and posture.
I also really appreciate that functional mobility work is built into the program, helping with overall movement, flexibility, and injury prevention.

The coaches check in on your goals, and even reach out if you miss a class. The app makes it easy to track progress, and the long-term coaching staff shows how strong the community really is.

I love MSC! Every workout goes by really quickly because the music and energy is so fun! This is the strongest I’ve ever felt/been and it feels amazing. Best gym I’ve had the pleasure of attending. The coaches have great energy levels and are all around awesome people. It makes those early morning workouts a little easier.

Aside from being awesome, the coaches also have a great knowledge base for exercises. They help beginners who haven’t worked out before gain confidence and strength to progress to the more advanced movements. They also teach us avid gym goers something new or tweak our form slightly to work different muscles that haven’t been used before.

I love the small group training at MSC. I was looking for more socialization without losing the personalization I got from 1x1 coaching. Coach Candace made me feel welcome right away, making sure to introduce me to others. She set up a program that supports my goals and challenges me while I rehab an injury. As a swim and triathlon coach, I have high expectations for coaches based on the level of attention I give my own athletes. The coaches I've worked with at MSC are very attentive. They provide solid instruction, clear feedback on form to keep me safe and give lots of positive encouragement. After completing my first 8 week program I hit a 4-rep bench press PR!

At MSC the team really listens to their clients. They will always find an alternative exercise to achieve the same results. Working closely with CORE PT, the coaches are often able to provide assistance when struggling with permanent or temporary aches and pains. This recently aided me in a very quick recovery post surgery due to staying active thanks to the team prior.

I love working out here. The Semi-private classes are awesome. The trainers ((all great)) watch you and correct your form when necessary and encourage you to go up in weight which is something I don't do on my own. The strength camp classes are tough and challenging but I love them. I highly recommend checking out MSC Strength and Conditioning.

I don't know how they do it, but they do! Small groups (+-6) that allow for lots of personal attention and allow everyone to work their own exercise plan. I joined MSC last spring after a friend of mine told me how much she loved it and had “found her people”. I was looking for a personal trainer to hold me accountable for consistent workouts because I had been doing home workouts for years and had become unmotivated. I LOVE my workouts! Small group training has been so much fun! I love having a personalized workout geared towards my individual goals. I especially enjoy seeing the progress in my fitness. I love working out here. The coaches are absolutely phenomenal and knowledgeable, and will tailor workouts to your needs. I have a bad knee and shoulder and they modify workouts to accommodate my injuries while still helping me to maximize my own potential. My experience of gyms was that they are scary places where only people who knew what they were doing felt comfortable. Having never been an athlete in my youth, I had no experience related to exercise. I've even had two gym memberships before and basically never went because it was too overwhelming.
About 7 months ago, I did a trial class at MSC and my perspective of gyms has totally and completely changed. Here, in this welcoming and inclusive environment, you literally don't need to know anything (and if you do, that is great too!) The coaches teach you everything (including how to do moves without injury), create a plan to enhance your fitness goals, and modify any exercises necessary to suit your ability or account for any injuries. I have gone twice a week for 7 months and look forward to it every time. Me! Look forward to exercise!
I see the strength I am building and the changes in my physique overall. I can't emphasize enough that YOU SHOULD TRY MSC. The coaches are great, the owner is a lovely human, and it is a place to not only achieve fitness goals, but to join a community of really nice people. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!!

I didn’t know I was missing having a supportive gym atmosphere in my life until I got back into it after a workout at home hiatus, and I’m so glad I did! MSC has been incredibly welcoming, and helpful in coaching me to be the best I can be while lifting heavy. I’ve enjoyed re-discovering this side of myself in a motivating environment, alongside other likeminded members. As a former collegiate rower and generally active and competitive person, the team atmosphere was why I was missing. The crew here keeps things fun, and always has my best interest at heart. As much strength as I’ve gained physically, I’ve also loved making new friends and connecting with folks I otherwise wouldn’t have met. I hope to continue to push my limits, set PRs, and physically and mentally feel the best that I can, and I know I’m in the right place to do that. My initial hesitation was the scheduling, but if a rotating shift nurse, that travels a ton, hikes and skis at any chance and loads her schedule as it is, can do it, anyone can. One of my friends finally convinced me to sign up about two months ago now. Before I had been doing peloton classes in my home gym but was barely doing 1-2 a week. My partner and I were on the hunt for a Muscle/Strength conditioning gym with good vibes/balanced energy and a personal trainer feel during the group classes. Tina (owner) reached out several times during our search and spent time sharing with us her approach and philosophy. After research, and connecting with 4 other local gyms, there was no question-MSC stood out and we Joined early October.

The transition via app utilization for scheduling classes and using the workout plan app were challenging at first. However the staff were attentive and after a couple of weeks we were set-up and had joined the family!

Yes, family indeed! It is clear staff are invested and enjoy their work. They provide instructions during your workout and make sure technique/position are correct. This is a no pressure gym where you are working out with up to 7 other folks at the same time. However you are provided with your own/individualized workout schedule. You easily get into the zone. I’m not a gym lover and it is hard to keep me motivated. The set-up and good vibes has me coming back regularly. I’m surprised!

This gym is unlike any I have ever joined! Your program is customized to your goals/needs, classes are small so there is a lot of personal attention. MSC’s special sauce is its coaches. Every coach I’ve worked with brought great positive energy and gave me helpful feedback on my form. Meg and Tina are amazing and show deep care and attention to their members. I used to powerlift before the pandemic and was looking for a program that would help me get back into strength building without the rigidity of a traditional powerlifting routine. For those who did something similar, you’ll know that these types of workouts take a long time to do and I’ll spend closer to 1.5-2 hours in the gym. I love that I can get an effective strength and endurance workout in just an hour and I can go about my day!

Tina, the owner, is very energetic and will work with you to figure out what type of program schedule can work with your work schedule. The community there is inviting and helpful. I have been going now for about 3 weeks, and I joined now officially because I can see how much my energy and strength will improve. Our son first started training at MSC after the birth of our grandson. His body changed dramatically for the better. Then my wife started training through Zoom and was extremely happy. I finally took the plunge and have felt well taken care of by my trainer, Meg. She modifies routines to assist in my balance issues while still strengthening and conditioning me. Careful attention in paid to starting with breathing and stretches to properly warm up.I am very pleased, particularly when we get the opportunity to train in person at MSC while visiting the grandchildren. I’ve been training at MSC for almost a year and it’s my favorite place to start my day! The MSC coaches are the best around, they are all so friendly, positive, encouraging, and knowledgeable. I love that each class is small, so the coaches are able to provide feedback on technique and form, even when you think they aren’t watching you, they see everything! But the best part of the coaches is how encouraging they are, they will always push you to go up in weight, and celebrate those PR moments with you.

Each training program is individualized to what your own goals are and what you want to work on. I like that the programs aren’t just kettle bells, but also include other equipment that you don’t typically see in traditional gyms, like maces, Indian clubs, and sandbags, so not only am I getting a great workout in, but I’m also learning new exercises and techniques. If you are looking for an awesome place to workout, MSC is the place to go!

I have been training at MSC for a couple of months now, and this is the most consistent I have ever been. That is 100% because of the training staff, and the programming that is tailored to me and my goals. I'm creeping close to 40 and have had a hectic couple of years with kids and work and found myself with TWO babies worth of "sympathy weight" to lose.

I want to mention that I have tried other training methodologies before that are "infinitely scalable" and my experience was this: I would walk into a gym where there was a sea of 15-20 people and one coach that is scrambling around trying their best or just sitting on their phone and stretching while we worked out. I would end up feeling the need to compete and throw weight around that I had no business lifting without anyone really giving me any feedback. Also, there were cliques that made me feel like I was sitting alone at the lunch table in high school.

MSC IS NOT LIKE THAT! They are so welcoming and friendly. I instantly felt welcome and felt like I belonged there - you cannot put a price on that. Every time I train coaches are giving me feedback and improving my form and praising the progress I have made. Tina and the staff reach out via email and text weekly to check in and see what they can do to help. I love going to MSC and would recommend it to anyone at any shape or size or step in their journey to better health.

First, let me start by saying that it can be nerve-racking and intimidating to enter a new gym for the first time. However, those feelings of being nervous quickly disappeared when I hopped on a call with Tina to discuss membership options. She really listened to my goals and the new journey that I wanted to start. I was referred by my cousin (who is an active member), that shares the same passion for fitness as I do. So, of course I wanted to check it out for myself! The free mobility classes are a great introduction to start at MSC.

Tina and her team are there every single day with a friendly smile and positive attitude. The energy that you are surrounded by at MSC makes the workout enjoyable and go by so quickly! I enjoy every class and I feel comfortable when attempting something new for the first time. Not only do you get the most bang for your buck with your own customizable program that is geared to your fitness goals, strength, and what you enjoy, but you can also adjust your program as you see fit. If you are a curious person like myself, MSC is the best environment to get you out of your comfort zone. The semi- classes that are offered give the trainer the ability to watch closely and pay attention to your form. There is a variety of instructors that you can choose from when picking a class or personal training, and they are all terrific! I love that that I can take a class with Daniella, Meghan, Blair, etc. I recently started taking one on one classes, and am obsessed!!

Lastly, I really appreciate the procedures they put in place to keep all their clients healthy during the pandemic.
